EVO:RAIL Management Page not loging...

2. EVO:RAIL Management Page Connecting..( https://IP: 7443 )
3. Go login..
4. loading...loading...loading...loading...loading...loading...............................
Does not proceed from loading page...
What is the problem?...

Thanks for the log. It told me that you are using EVO:RAIL 1.0.1 release and based on your screenshot you are using either the browser that's set into one of either Chinese or Korean languages (sorry I can't tell). In 1.0.1 release, we had a known problem when EVO UI would set to use one of such languages, we would not be able to login into the UI (exactly the issue you are seeing). The fix for this problem would be to upgrade to 1.0.2 release using the bits from VMW's download site (https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/details?productId=442&downloadGroup=EVORAIL1_0_2). You would need to login to the EVO:RAIL UI using English setting (https://<ip>:7443/manage?lang=en) and perform the update to both EVO:RAIL rpm and offline bundle.
Ping us back if you have any problems getting through this and we can walk you upgrade process in another way if needed.
@Mike: the appliance is from Dell (with a very weird appliance ID - most likely from engineering samples)
Biteksystem: Are you evaluating this appliance or have you purchased it this way? Thanks.

  • WLC Management Page not responding

    Hi,
I'm facing a weird problem which's the WLC management page will not be responding after a certain periods say about 2weeks. Then i've to reset the WLC system in order to get it works.Internet surfing will not be affected when the management page not responding but the local web authentication page yes as the local system held the GUI files. I'm thinking whether this's a software bug or what. Anyone has the idea?
Btw, the WLC system that i had is an integrated machine with 3750G switches.
    regards.

i had the same problem when im upgrade software 4402 to 5.2 version.
    try with this:
There can be several reasons associated with this issue. One common reason can be related to the virtual interface configuration of the controller. In order to resolve this problem, remove the virtual interface and then re-generate it with this command:
    WLC>config interface address virtual 1.1.1.1
Then, reboot the controller. After the controller is rebooted, re-generate the webauth certificate locally on the controller with this command:
    WLC>config certificate generate webauth
In the ouput of this command, you should see this message: Web Authentication certificate has been generated.
Now, you should be able to access the secure web mode of the controller upon reboot.
    Regards
    Antonio.

  • SQL Server 2012 Reporting Services, Report Manager - Page not found

    Hi all,
I am working on migrating reports to a new server so we can upgrade to a new machine and to SQL Server 2012 SP2.  The machine is up and running on Windows Server 2012 and I have installed SQL Server EE 2012 SP2.  I have imported the three databases
    from 2008R2
    * Report Server
    * ReportServer TempDB
    * RSSubscribers
I have re-applied the encryption keys and I was thinking that everything was good to go until I went to try and manage the subscriptions on a report.  I select a report, use the drop arrow to get to manage
and then try to select any of the options such as subscriptions and I get a "Page Not Found Error"
If I take the URL and paste it in another browser, putting the previous server name in, it works fine.  So, the URL works fine...  I have no idea as to what I should do to figure out the problem.  I am considering rebuilding the whole install
just to see if that would fix it.
    Thanks

    Hi SqlDude,
According to your description, you have bind SSL to a Reporting Services URL Reservation. Now you find in your Report Manager, the Subscription page still start with "http://". Right?
In this scenario, we need to change setting in rsreportserver.config file. Go to rsreportserver.config in "\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL\Reporting Services\ReportServer". Find <Add Key="SecureConnectionLevel" Value="0"/>.
    Change the value into "3".
    Acceptable values are:
3 Most secure—Use SSL for absolutely everything.
2 Secure—Use SSL for rendering and methods that pass credentials but don't insist on it for all SOAP calls.
1 Basic Security—Accepts http but rejects any calls that might be involved in the passing of credentials.
0 Least Secure—Don't use SSL at all.
Besides, if you want to submit a feedback to Microsoft, please feel free to submit
your situation on our product to the following link:

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

  • Problem with email address management page (not re...

A couple of weeks ago I was moved to BT mail and I linked my BT ID to my main email address, as instructed. On the email management page, I linked six other email addresses, which I had previously had in BT Yahoo, using the ‘add to BT ID’ function. However, my main email address, which was the one I initially linked, also appears on the email management page, but with the ‘add to BT ID’ function still appearing. When I click on this, I keep getting the message: ‘Sorry, we haven't been able to claim that email address due to an error. Please try again later.’ This means that I am unable to have my main email address as my favourite, so when I log in, it always defaults to another one of my addresses. How do I fix this problem?

I found this, that may help - BTW, MEU is Mail Enabled Users:

  • EVO:RAIL - Use Cases?

I think as soon as the world becomes aware of EVO:RAIL then folks will start asking what the use cases are. It's clear that there are couple of immediate use cases, but I'm betting that customers will bring to the table applications that perhaps we hadn't considered. The other night I was our Tech Summit event (its private event for VMware SE/TAMs to attend prior to VMworld to get them up to speed on what the announcements are all about), and I was approached by a number of SE/TAMs who are interested in running EVO:RAIL in the basements and garages as the foundation to their homelabs. Even with the onsite of Cloud - and we have an internal cloud that SE/TAMs can use demo products to customers - just like the VMware Community they still have a passion for building out their own demos, just how they like them - that they can tailor make to handle customer questions that come up. I'm the same, despite being at VMware for 2+ years, I'm still running my own gear at home. It just worked out more cost effective form my needs than keeping my 42U rack at a colo.
I doubt that my might the "WAF" would apply to having a 4U box with 4 nodes inside it - in the spare bedroom. So I'm already looking at running EVO:RAIL in a nested configuration on my home lab gear for testing, videos and demos to customers. That work has already been done for the VMworld HoL, by William Lam (the undisputed king of nested ESX, well, perhaps Simon Gallagher comes close!) - who's done some excellent work on this already. So hopefully it won't take much work to get hold of the bits from the HoL, and pump the lastest build of EVO:RAIL into it...
Anyway, I digress use cases. It's clear that ROBO, SMB and VDI are the top use cases - situations where an appliance like model, with zero configuration (almost!) is needed. I think we perhaps be a bit careful with the SMB use case. EVO:RAIL is 4xNodes in a 4U configuration with each node presenting 192GB of RAM. One thing I've always been concerned with is how variable "SMB" is as term. Over here in a the US an SMB would be classed as company with <1000 employees. Over here in Europe, that would be regarded as still quite large for an SMB.. The same goes ROBO. So I guess what I'm saying is size is relative, and so we have to be careful when use terms like "small".
Folks who know me will know that I'm a big fan of VMware Site Recovery Manager and vSphere Replication - having written books about the version 1.0, 40 and 5.0 versions. I think there's use case where an EVO:RAIL is put into some colocation facilitiy and used as DR target. The important thing to remember about EVO:RAIL as its based on vSphere 5.5 U2, other products in the vCloud Suite family will work with it - like SRM, View, vCloud Director or vCAC... So its not some special "moded" version of the platform. Perhaps a better model for DR and EVO:RAIL is to run VR locally on it, and use vCloud Air as the target for recovery...? I guess we have to ask the question what's going to be more popular/easier. Two site with EVO:RAIL at either end, or EVO:RAIL enabled for DR to the cloud. Just to be clear. That isn't baked into EVO:RAIL today, I'm just blue sky thinking about the possibilities in the future.
So what do folks think here? Can you dream up any other scenarios where an EVO:RAIL would be good fit...?

You make some valid points there, but there's a couple of things that are worth clarifying....
Firstly, EVO:RAIL is pre-installed at factory. So really the only "installation" is racking up, and connecting to the TOR. In fact I think an EVO:RAIL is easier to setup that a VSA is, and gives more usable disk space, and lower cost per gigabyte..
IF the customer has given the OEM the IPs, IP Ranges, Hostnames, and Passwords - then it literally is a 15min setup after clicking "Build Appliance". On the other hand if the customer wants to customize the EVO:RAIL prior to build - such as changing the VLANs Tags (That they supplied) that would add a couple of minutes...
vDS is NOT a prequistie. EVO:RAIL uses standard switches... Although an EVO:RAIL is licensed for Enterprize Plus. There's no requirement to configure a Distributed Switches.
The real "asks" here is the customer needs 10Gb switch - I think its fair to say that isn't common in SMB/ROBO environment. I suspect many of the OEMs will be asking the customer to validate their switch configuation. Multicast for IPv4/IPv6 is used by the "Zero Network Configuation" on the management/VSAN networks. As the name suggest no configuration is required on the EVO:RAIL, its used as part of the discovery process for finding the nodes, and finding new appliances. One most switches this tick off box option on the switch for the VLANs that require it...
Anyone of my plans is to order an EVO:RAIL from one of our suppliers just like a customer would, and document/record that process. So i can get a feel for a real world customer experience would be. In fact I might see if my wife, Carmel can set it up... :-)

  • EVO:Rail Training

For EVO:Rail to succeed vmware must make sure the availability of training for the same and not depend upon its hardware partners for Training.
Most of the hardware mentioned don't have a great track record in Training.
Vmware can also add a EVO:Rail Training Module in VSAN Deploy and Manage course.
Non Availability of the training was one of the reason that vmware VSA failed to get traction in the market.

You make some valid points there, but there's a couple of things that are worth clarifying....

  • SharePoint 2013 Apps shows 404 page not found on web front end servers.

    Hi All,
We are implementing SharePoint Apps for our UAT environment with 1 application server and 2 WFEs. In our development server which is single server worked for implementing SharePoint Apps.
All our web applications WFEs are hosted UAT environment and SharePoint Server 2013 is enterprise with this build number 15.0.4420.1017 (RTM). In the Application Server we enabled App management service and Subscription management through
    PowerShell.
This DNS configuration is as follows:
contoso.com with IP address for Application server (192.168.10.12) 2 different IP address for WFEs
      192.168.10.14/15).
contoso-apps.com for wild card DNS required by SharePoint Apps and pointed to
    Application server (192.168.10.12).
We have created self-sign certificate on one the WFE server, create a web application dedicated for SharePoint Apps
without host header and bind the self – sign certificate to the SharePoint Apps web application. DNS is correctly configured on the WFE and we are able to
    ping abc.contoso-apps.com.
The App Catalog site is working and we are able to download SharePoint apps. But for the WFEs, when go to SharePoint store
it does shows the content for Store and when download an app and click on Add IT and signed as Office ID we get 404 page not found.
We referred the following sites that relate this 404 error:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/sharepoint_-_inside_the_lines/archive/2013/06/23/404-amp-401-errors-with-the-app-management-service.aspx
    http://sharepointchick.com/archive/0001/01/01/setting-up-your-app-domain-for-sharepoint-2013.aspx

    http://www.jeremythake.com/2013/12/troubleshooting-sharepoint-2013-hosted-apps-on-premises-404-not-found-error/
    https://samlman.wordpress.com/2015/03/01/planning-the-infrastructure-required-for-the-new-app-model-in-sharepoint-2013/
But in my case we have already defined a blank host header for SharePoint Apps that we create previously.
Is it because we not using latest patch as Steve Peschka that March PU fixed this issue?
Any other solution we should look to fix this.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Sandy

    Your contoso-apps.com
wildcard address should point to one of the WFE servers, not the Application server.  (Actually it should point to the load balancer for the WFEs, but you don't mention a load balancer.)  Apps generate a dynamic HTML web site on the WFE server.  If
you point to the application server it may not be able to deliver that content if the Microsoft SharePoint Foundation Web Service isn't turned on.  (That's what makes a server a WFE)

    Hi
    Try to increase socket limits
Normally you can do this within the admin console , Servers -> Configuration -> Tuning -> Socket Readers
For you, since you can't login, set the ThreadPoolPercentSocketReaders in the config.xml to a higher value than 5
    kind regards
    Michel

  • Extension Manager will not open and Adobe doesn't care

Just search on “extension manager will not open” in the Adobe Forums or Google and pages of hits come up going back to CS4. This is a serious problem that Adobe is simply ignoring.
I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit with Design Premium CS5 installed. Nothing happens when I click on Manage Extensions from within any Adobe application, nothing happens when I click on Adobe Extension Manager CS5 on the start menu, and nothing happens when I double click on a .mxp file. No error messages – nothing.
So I had a free couple of hours and decided to call Adobe. Six hours later, after talking with Raj, Peenal, Tushar, Madhur, and Sandeep (get the picture?), after noting that none of them had ever even heard of the problem, after my call was dropped during one 30 minute wait, and after a complete uninstall and reinstall of the complete CS5, I have exactly the same problem I started with.
For my purposes, Design Premium CS5 is literally useless without extensions and Adobe has left me holding a $1500 boat anchor. Do you think anybody at Adobe cares?  I don’t.
Bottom line - DO NOT BUY Design Premium CS5 if you need extensions. They very possibly will not install and Adobe won't/can't help you.

Thanks to Carl Sun and Zhiqianq Liu, my problem with Extension Manager is resolved (the problem with Adobe support is not).
I followed Carl's Sun's instructions to the letter. I created a ExManLog.YES file and then manually ran Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe via "Run as administrator" as Carl suggested and the Extension Manager ran for the first time.
In other words, either creating the ExManLog.YES file (unlikely) or manually running the .exe file as administrator (most certainly the solution) solved the problem.
Running, rerunning, rebooting and rerunning all work now – all without right clicking on Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe before running Extension Manager. That is, it was apparently sufficient to right click on Adobe Extension Manager CS5.exe and then run the Extension Manager as administrator one time.
Now what's diabolical about this is that my user has full administrator privileges. Still, Extension Manager wasn’t actually running as administrator until I physically located the .exe file and manually ran it as administrator one time.
And what’s doubly diabolical is that all those guys at Adobe didn’t have a clue and Carl and Zhiqianq solved it right away.
    Thank you, thank you.
Now – Adobe – if you are reading this, five of you guys caused me six hours of untold grief (case # 182188172) when the solution was actually very simple. I won’t be forgetting that anytime soon and I hope others who read this will get the message that Adobe support is seriously dysfunctional.
