EWA config

Hi Gurus
I am new to Solution manager.
i have solman 4.0   SP12,    ST_PI 2005_1_700
ST-SER     700_2007_1 0001 SAPKITLOM1      Service Tools,
   SAPKITLQI5
I want to setup EWA for R/3 production system from  my solution manager system 4.0 which i installed recently..
unfortunately my R/3 system is nonunicode, is there any restrictions for unicode to non unicode systems. and what are the configs do i need to do in R/3 system to work with EWA.
just i got to know that from 03march 08, there is some new concept in EWA. i am struggling with basic doubts:
1. how many RFC's do i need to create at solman system and
at R/3 system ( because i want   Only EWA config     (but
    not changereuest maangent,sys monitoring etc.......).
2. I have alreay generated  with the wizard. but it is showing four
    RFC's ,
3. While configuing is it necesary to active conenction to OSS
Please Guide me
Thanks in advance.

I have created RFc's manually in my solman system and  in satelitte system with sap_all, sap_new  profiles. when entered a tcode SDCCN in satellite system it is showing: Transaction SDCCN does notexist.
Q1: y i dont have SDCCN tcode?
When i enter SDCC.in satelitte system, it is showing:
service definition Refresh in progress....
Then after
Remote refresh of Service Definitions (through RFC to SAPOSS) failed...
And in solman system if i click EWA report with RED FLAG.
it showing:
The RFC connection for the SAP Solution Manager system is not working.
The 'Task Processor' background job, which collects the session data, has been changed.
Problems arose while data was being collected (see the detail log for the task that collects the session data).
A periodic 'SDCC Maintenance Package' task has not been scheduled to check whether your SAP Solution Manager system requests session data.
Session number: 3000000000108
here when i click "Call Service Data Controller"
the message it displayng is:
Unable to reach remote system. No authorization to logon as trusted system (Trust
What is this trust...i have already created same  named users in both systems and same password and assgned through sm59.(manually). What was wrong with me....

  • EWA Config Steps in detail.

    Hello Experts,
I have configured EWA for ERP system.
In solution manager EWA reports are being generated, but no data is available in that reports.
Please suggest me how to resolve it. RFC connections are working fine.
    Regards,
    Ravi.

    Hello,
When you say the EWA is being generated but it contains no data, then there will also be an icon that will help tell the problem.
Of course Green, Yellow and Red rated reports have data.
Grey Rated reports can be empty. They have a grey Diamond Icon.
Unrated Reports can be empty. They have a document page icon.
And then there is the Red Flag, but that can't be opened, so it would nto be empty.
I am going to guess it is a blank document icon, and the report contains no data, as this is most likely the case based on the
vague description. In this case pleae review SAP Note 1496931 - EarlWatch Alert Not Rated; EWA Report Empty also review SAP Note 1415702 - Service Session Not Rated (e.g. EarlyWatch Alert. Dependign on your SP level, one of these notes should resolve this issue.

  • Solution Manager 4.0 is compatible for SAP 4.7  ?

    Hi,
We are currently upgrading from R/3 4.6B to 4.7. The database is Oracle 9.2.0.7 and O/S is AIX 5.3
When I looked at platform matrix for Solution Manager 4.0 , it says compatible with Netweaver 2004s and Oracle 10g.
Is it possible to use Solution Manager 4.0 to the above configurations?
    Thanks,
    Sam

    Hello Sam,
Yes it is very much compatibale... i adid not check any documents but my systems are the very much same.
My satellite systems have been upgarded form 4.0B to 4.7 in the start of this year and the solman system from 3.2 to 4.0 in the last month.
We have been running the EWA configs, support desk and other functionalities very successfully.

  • Config EWA in SolMan 7.1

    Gurus,
How do you config Earlywatch Alert in SolMan 7.1?
There's no DSWP or SMSY anymore.
    Regards,

    Hi Lori,
It is very easy once you know how to do it, and here is the way to do it properly, with no being quick, as the first respondent is indicating?
You start Solman_workcenter > System Monitoring Tab > Setup Link > EarlWatch Alert configuration.
Here you can select for one solution or all solutions.
This will basically take you to what you may be familiar with as the screen in solman_ewa_admin.
If you select by Solution , the view in that screen is just for the one solution, and if you select for all solutions will give you the view you were accustomed to before, all the solutions.

    Hello.
First of all, you must ensure that your solution manger has, at least, stack 13 of support package, in java and ABAP side.
Once you hace installed your agents in solution manager, you must to  do different things in your satellite system.
    - First of all, you must get sure that you have deployed LMSERVICE in your satellite system. And you must deploy -     JmxService7.1.P5NetWeaver.ear file.
    - Secondly, you must install wily folder in  /usr/sap/ccm . Willy folder is obtained in ISAGENT71_11-20002182.SAR file.
Into Wily folder, you must look for sap_IntroscopeAgent.profile file, and you need to modify it in order to be seen for your solution manager. To do this step, only find in this file the next item:
    introscope.agent.enterprisemanager.transport.tcp.host.DEFAULT=
It will have value 'localhost' and you must delete 'default' and insert your solution manager host.
    - Then, you must go to the next folder opening cmd:
    \usr\sap\ccms\willy\connectors
There, execute the next command in order to create the necessary connector:
    java -jar CreateAutoProbeConnector.jar -jvm C:\j                2sdk1.4.2_06 -output connector.jar
Get sure tou put your corresponding JDK
    - You must install SMD agent in your satellite host, executing sapinst that is in CDSMDTOOLS21_0-10003537.SAR file.
    - Once your agent is running  go to  \usr\sap\SMD\J98\component_analyzer  and execute the command 'gather setup' . It will open to you a new window with some warnings. Double clicking in each warning and editing node, you can insert a value in order to correct these warnings.
    - Then, you must insert different java parameters in your config tool. Parameters are the next:
    -Xbootclasspath/p:K:/usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/applications.config/com.sap.smd.agent.application.wily/BytecodeAgent/ISAGENT.7.1.P11-2007-09-27/wily/connectors/AutoProbeConnector.jar;K:/usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/applications.config/com.sap.smd.agent.application.wily/BytecodeAgent/ISAGENT.7.1.P11-2007-09-27/wily/Agent.jar
-Dcom.wily.introscope.agent.agentName=<name of the agent : insert what you want>
    -Dcom.wily.introscope.agentProfile=K:/usr/sap/SMD/J98/SMDAgent/applications.config/com.sap.smd.agent.application.wily/BytecodeAgent/ISAGENT.7.1.P11-2007-09-27/wily/sap_IntroscopeAgent.profile
    -XX:+PrintClassHistogram
    -XX:+HeapDumpOnCtrlBreak
    - When you have done this, you must configure your system in SMSY following SAP guides and create the solution in solution_manager transaction.
    - The next step is configure the system in SMD web:
    1.- execute SMD upgrade.
    2.- Setup diagnostics system
    3.- Setup managed system
4.- in 'Trouble shooting' insert jdbc parameters
5.- In 'Introscope agent' you must load the parameters you configured in configtool.
6.- At this point will be necessary to restart your satellite system.
When you finishes all these steps you will be able to obtain EWA for java side.
Is so difficult to do this. We have done it in several environments and we have had lots of problems, but it's possible.
Any doubt, please, give me your mail and I'll be so glad to help you.
    Best regards.

  • EWA report for non-abap systems

    Hi Gurus,
    Good day.
I would like to ask, what are the steps that I'm going to do when configuring an EWA report for non-abap systems i.e portal. Do Ineed to install SMD agents on my non-abap systems and connect to diagnostic agent of solman?
Or do I need to install wily introscope agents on my non-abap systems and connect to diagnostic agent?
    It is both? Which one?
It would be also great if you can provide me links/documents in relation to my queries.
Please do note that the current version of solman system is 7.1
Thanks in advance for the help
    Virgilio

    Hi Virgilio,
To generate an EWA report for Java stack system,
    you need to do following:
    1. install smd agent (diagnostics agent) on Java stack system
you can install this agent standalone, details see note 1234384.
The installation Guide is also attached in note 1234384.
    2. finish Initial Config and Basic Configuration in solman_setup for

in these configurations, please ensure EM is running properly.
    3. start managed system configuration for the EP system in solman_setup
after selecting the system type 'Java', please finish all steps as
suggested in which step. The Step 'Wily Introscope Configuration' is to
install Introscope Agent which is used for Java stack system. More infor
please read the installation Guide of Enterprise Manager and note

  • EWA Reports

    Hi All,
    I use SAP 4.7 enterprise x200
i have configured the EWA reports through my solution manger (kernel 700)
in the EWA report we encounter certain issues.
in System Config -> S/W Config -> SAP Kernel release (3.2.2)
i have kept all my systems in the same kernel level but it is showing the error that we are running different kernel releases.
in DB Administration -> Tables not used (10.0.5)
it shows that there are two tables that i have not used. but when i checked it data was there (but as explained it was data from DB13). so if i delete the tables what will happen to the DB13 entries. will further scheduled jobs work.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi Eileen,
I have looked into this before as well, as I wanted to schedule EWA's MORE frequently as we came closer to a Go Live date.  I was informed that it was not possible to change the frequency of days other than to manually create more EWA's myself.
My suggestion would be to maybe create a job/reminder for your Operations staff to push the EWA dates out 4 weeks manually after they have been created.  (I know this isn't optimal).
But then at least you are seeing a report spanning a 4 week time period.
Also, I have changed the EWA day from Monday before without any conflicts.  I just keep all the systems on one consistent day across the board, and my EWA for Solutions is the day after.  IE: EWA's are on Tuesday, EWA for Solutions is on Wednesday.
    Hope this helps.

  • EWA Report in incorrect format

    Hi,
I am on Solman EHP1 SPS22. I am recieving EWA reports for my SLD System Netweaver 7.1 and Adobe Document services system.
The report format is in the ( ABAP + JAVA ) style , while both the systems are onlly J2EE servers.
Although there is no data displayed under the ABAP headings ( it shows 0 values for all monitors ) the J2EE config Data and JAVA monitoring parameters are showing correct values.
SMD is configured for the systems but ADS is not supported so cannot verify if there is any RCA Workload data being displayed under the RCA, although there are no failing dispatcher jobs.
Other systems ( J2EE systems in the landscape show only two Area under EWA as per new format for KITLRD2 Java VM Memory Performance & Java VM Activity Reporting) while for the Netweaver 7.1 and CE systems its still displaying all the areas including ABAP like Service preparation check and Workload for transactions, but its blank.
Any idea on how to get the format of the EWA correct.

  • EWA without Diagnostics

    Hi There
We are planning on setting up EWA in an Solution Manager 7.0 Ehp1 system.
Our Landsacpe consists of 4.7 R3 systems based on SAP_BASIS 6.20 and BI systems based on Netweaver 7.0. All the systems, Logical componenets and Solutions have been setup in SMSY on the Sol Man system.
We are not planning on implementing Diagnostics in the near future and we have do not have CCMS setup in  any of the R3 or BI systems.
Now is there any value in just setting up EWA for these systems in SOl Man. If we turn on SDCCN in the R3 and BI systems what kind of alerts will I be able to see in Sol Man system, assuming that all config related to EWA (SDCCN) has been setup in Sol man and satelliet systems.
Also, we have configured the production systems in a separate solution.
If I regsiter this solution with SAP will I be getting any reports on the health of the systems based on the current config ?
Will EWA collect statistics from saposcol in each system and generate any valuable reports OR will EWA without CCMS setup (OR Diagnostics) not yield any report ?
    Thanks

    Hi Sapkid,
You can configure EWA without diagnostics and later add the same with diagnostics. The initial prerequisite of configuring diagnostics is Activating SDCCN , Early watch alerts etc, We call it as Starter solution manager pack. Once this is done, we can proceed with configuring diagnostics by installing wily IM , SMD agents etc.
Please go ahead and configure EWA  and diagnostics can be added at later stage.
    Best regards,
    Vin

  • EWA from the Report

    Dear Experts
I want to extract the EWA report from the server itself . i dont want to use solution manager.
i heard that SAP will manually login in 066 client and extract the information more than EWA report.
Is there any service or config required ?
Are there any two types of EWA  ?
    1. From solution manager
    2. From the server itself
Note : dont know whether the two option exsist or not ?
If it exsist so that i can raise the message to SAP.
    Regards
    Haroon

    Hi,
SAP suggest to install solution manager in landscape.
IF you want EWA directly from SAP. Then configure the system as per SAP Note 207223.

  • EWA report period

    Hi
I have been set-up EWA. EWAs can only be scheduled with a period of 7 days in set-up screen.

    Hi Marco,
I assume, that you have setup EWA via SAP Solution Manager (that means, EWA sessions are visible under Operations: Solution Monitoring -> EarlyWatch Alert).
What's the exact path and field in SDCCN config you refer to?
SDCCN -> GO TO -> Settings -> Task specific -> session Data Collection
    -> Data Request -> Settings
    -> Maintenance -> Settings
    -> RFC Destininations -> Settings
