EWA report generation in Solution Manager 7.1 SP12

Hi Friends,
I am done with Managed System Configuration..
Now I need to generate EWA reports for the same.
But I am getting some inputs that, EWA is automatically configured in Managed System Configuration itself.
Can you guys suggest me accordingly..
Thanks & Regards,
Solman Starter

Just start the workcenter and navigate here:
Adding other systems can be done via SMSY ->
You also have to check your SDCCN settings: There must be a Maintenance Package scheduled daily which uses your SolMan system.
I suggest that you flag your RFC to SolMan as master:
(Display/Change)
(Set Master Solution Manager system)

Please check, whether the managed system is well prepared.
It requires add-ons ST-PI and ST-A/PI, data in workload statistics ST03N.
Run RTCCTOOL via SE38 and check the results.

• How to revert a report run in Solution Manager?

Hello All:
As per Note 1119150 - Solution Manager: EHP 3 product data missing, I ran this report RS_SMSY_PPMS_XML_UP_DOWNLOAD,
My bad, this was for Solution Manager 4, I ran this in Solution Manager 7.
Product Version got changed once I ran this report.
Is there any way to revert the changes done by this report?
Please let me know.
Thanks a lot for your time guys!!
Cheers,
-Sai

Hello Sai,
SAP Solution Manager release 4.0 and release 7.0 are one in the same.
There is a note that will confirm this assertion.
1122966 Maintenance Optimizer: Notes for Enhancement Packages
Indeed it is referenced in the footer of SAP Note 1119150
Note 1122966 States: SAP Solution Manager 4.0 is officially renamed on May 1st, 2008 and
becomes SAP Solution Manager 7.0.
Note 1119150 was released in 2007, so this was before the name change.
Since this note applies to the release and not to a a particular SP level, it is completely valid for Solution Manager 7.0 as 4.0/7.0 are interchangeble terms.
However the reason to run the report attached to the Note is because product version 'SAP ENH PACK 3 for SAP ERP 6.0' is missing. Is this what the product changed to, because if it did, then it is correct. What did the product version change to because you may find that you can now select the correct product, if it was missing before...which would be the only reason to have run the report.
If the product version was missing, its likely a matter of just going back in and changing the product to the newly downloaded one that was missing. If it wasn't missing, then the report should not have been run, as the reason for applying the note instructions did not apply, and you may need to involve SAP support to assist in a resolution.
My thoughts are since the note does apply to SAP Solution Manager 7.0, so does the attached report, and perhaps this has shuffled the product list, without moving the pointer correspondingly, so it is now pointing to the worng product. But I suspect now the correct product is in the drop down selection list. This is just a thought as to why the product changed.
Hope it helps to resolve.

Paul

• New EWA Report Topic - Software Change Management

Dear Experts,
EWA reports has a new topic named Software Change Management , in this topic there is a subject name "Transport Requests with a short Transition Time" with following explanation;
Explanation : Transport requests with short transition time,The duration between the export from the development system and the import into the production system was shorter than one day.
Total number of transport requests 74 Total number of transport requests in production.
Recommendation: Transport requests with a short transition time of less than one day have occurred in the last week. These transports may not have been tested sufficiently.
All transport requests must be tested carefully before they are imported to the production system. The requests must not be developed and tested by the same person.
Transport requests must be bundled and imported to the production system together for maintenance cycles or releases. Daily imports are only permitted in emergency situations.
How can we check which requests Export from DEV date and Import in PRD are same ?
Best Regards

• EWA: error message in CRM check for SAP Solution Manager system

Hello!
In EWA report for SAP Solution Manager system I have seen error message: Many CSA* inbound queues in error status were detected in your system. As a result of this BDocs have not been delivered. And then table
Queue Name Status Date of first entry Entries
CSABUPA0000000070 READY 03.12.2007 45
CSABUPA0000000934 READY 07.05.2008 45
CSAIBASE0000000000 READY 23.11.2007 36
CSA_ORDER_8000000000 READY 22.11.2007 5
CSA_ORDER_8000000001 READY 22.11.2007 3
and others.
I looked transaction smq2. There are 11300 queues in it. Is it actual error or it is a normal situation? And that must I do, to remove an error?
Edited by: Mariya Kurbatova on Jul 2, 2009 6:27 AM

Hi,
Usually problems with hanaging CSA* queues are caused because too many
indiviaual queues are created for the qRFC resources to handle. You can
limit the number of queues as described in note 763680.
Note 763680 would be useful if all of your qRFC resourcesa are in use
when you have a great number of queues. With a large number of dialog
WPs on the system it would probably make sense to reduce the amount
as described in the note.
the casue when you have this problem would be to check SMQR -> GOTO ->
qRFC resources. You can also see if most of your dailog WPs are in use
in SM50.
Also refer to note 758677.
Please schedule report RSQIWKEX (Inbound) to run as described in the
note.
And since your title has mentioned that the EWA is on your CRM satellite system; this maybe a further good reference too
When you replicate lots of data from CRM to R/3, there could be a qRFC
resource problem. In this case, the numebr of queues created can be
reduced by implementing the attached note 356228, particularly solution
2.
For CSA* queues is slightly different from the one decribed in note;
this is because the CSA queues exchange data within the CRM system.
The steps described should be followed, except that table SMOFQFIND
must be used instead of CRMQNAMES. In this table, fields TR_SNAEMS and
SEGM_FLD are equivalent to the CRMQNAMES fieds BAPISTRUCT and BAPIFLD
respectively. It should be possible to follow the solution 2 in the
note as long as you use SMOFQFIND instead of CRMQNAMES.
Hope this helps
Cheers,
SH

• Create EWA Reports without saprouter connection

Dear Experts,
Please clarify, can Early Watch reports be created for satellite systems without saprouter connected to solution manager system.

Hello Sunil,
For EWA reports connection to SAP router is necessary.
so if you have a saprouter connection from satellite systems, then also you can generate EWA reports
for this Solution manager is not necessary
You can do this by configuring EWA reports using t-code SDCCN in your satellite system

• Transfer of old EWA Reports

Hello,
does anybody know a way how to transfer old EWA reports from one solution manager into another ? I've checked the "save services" button but I'm not able to put it into a transport request within this "archive queue".
Any hint is highly appreciated.
Kind regards,
Heiko

Hi Warren,
thanks for your reply.
Yes, we built a new solman from scratch and wanted to transfer all the data needed.
I nearly thought we'd not be able to transfer the EWA. So we'll have to do the download-an-backup-to-cd solution.
Kind regards,
Heiko

• Warning about the parallel_max_servers parameter in ewa reports

Hi gurus,
We produce ewa reports using our solution manager system. The health and performance of the systems are evaluated using these reports.
For all our sap systems, although the database parameter settings are configured correctly according to the oss note 830576, in the section 9.2, it gives warning for the parameter parallel_max_servers. We are almost sure that the value of the parameter parallel_max_servers is also set correctly. Whatever we did, we couldn't set it green.
Is there a way to turn it green, or as the sentence says in the report "If it is configured correctly, then ignore the yellow rating for this parameter." means that there is no way, although the parameter is set correctly, it will stay in yellow?
Best Regards,
Tolga

Hi,
The optimal value for PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS depends on the CPU cores in the database server available for database ( total CPU cores on database server minus CPU requirements of other applications including SAP central instance). As the CPU requirements for all applications other
than database cannot be determined automatically by the EarlyWatch Alert tool, it doesnt have a reference value to compare the current setting and comment on it. The optimal setting has to be determined manually. If the PARALLEL_MAX_SERVERS is set correctly then please ignore the
alert generated in the EarlyWatch Alert report
Just because the rating is yellow in the report doesnt mean that the setting is incorrect. The report just tries to alert you that the optimal setting for this parameter could not be determined and asks
you to ensure it is set optimally.
Cheers!

• EWA report is not showing in solution manager 7.1 SPS10

Hi Experts,
I have configured EWA in solution manager 7.1 SPS10 as per guides and best practices and managed system is showing perfectly for MOPZ configuration, RFC's are working fine but the Background job SM:EXEC_SERVICES completes in a few seconds with job log content showing the error
Alerts for system DEV in solution 'Development systems' cannot be sent (denied by customer)
The EWA alert is generating successfully in managed system and available at service market place but it is not showing in solution manager because of the above mentioned error
Please let me know any solution for this problem.
Thanks,
Bharat.

Bharat,
Note 1907383 - How to setup and troubleshoot EarlyWatch Alert reports in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 should have most of the answers related to EWA
Also Make sure you add the system to active solution by using "Put in Solution".
"Alerts for system DEV in solution 'Development systems' cannot be sent (denied by customer)" this msg is for sending alert to SAP. check if note 1925658 is implemented and also note 1984512.

• Solution Manager 4.0 BI Reporting Content for SP13

Hi,
I'm looking for a listing of BI Reporting Content for Solution Manager 4.0 SP13. I've heard rumors that standard BI Reporting content exists for the Change Request Management and Service Desk domains, but all I can find are references for system and performance report content for SP12.
See the matrix of content listed in help.sap.com at this url... SP12 SolMan BI Reporting Content from help.sap.com
Any guidance for standard BI reporting content for SolMan Change Request Management or Service Desk domains would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Josh

I was on session LCM264 - Reporting and Performance Analysis Using SAP NetWeaver BI at TechED and there was no talking about Change Request Management or Service Desk reporting.... This doesn't mean it's not available but I have never heard about it...
I'm setting up Performance Analysis right now and it is working really fine.

• Question about setup ewa in solution manager 4.0

Hi
I tried to setup ewa in solution manager 4.0, but when I clicked on the "setup EarlyWatch alert", it told me that:
the Service is not available, Fehlercode:ICF-NF-http-c:000-u:SAPSYS-l:D-i:saptux04_SM4_04-v:0-s:403-r:Forbidden
HTTP 403 - Forbidden
any one can help me?
best regards

Hello,
You will have to activate the service first in transaction SICF.
SAP recommends to do so via the the SAP Solution Manager IMG following the respective IMG path:
SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide -> SAP Solution Manager -> Confiugration -> Basic Settings -> Standard Configuration of Basis Settings -> Solution Manager -> Activate Solution Manager Services
Enhanced configuration of SAP EarlyWatch Alert (Service: /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/dswp_rating_4_monitoring)
This application is fairly new and contained in SAP Solution Manager 4.0 SP12 onwards. Information on the respective functionality can be found right here in the SAP Solution Manager SP News:
http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000538663&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000202&_OBJECT=011000358700000478802007E
I hope this helps to solve your issue.

• Two earlywatch reports for same instance in one Solution manager

Hi
i am trying to create two solutons for early watch reports for same instance. let me explain here.
In SAP Solution Manager: Active Solutions >>> i have two solutions like this
Solution Early Watch Alert Reports
Avnet Global Solutions >>>> here i have configured the PR1, PB1 PCB instances
PR1 >>>>>here i configured the only PR1 instance.
so i have configured the same instance in two solutions.
i am not gettting the early watch report automatically after after configuring like this . but manually working fine.
when i kick of the report manually working fine.
here my question is ... do i can create two early watch reports in one solution manage for same instance or not. if yes then why i am not getting report automatically.
Thank you
Vish

Dear Paul,
Thank you for your response
this is what i got from SAP.
Hello Vish,
You can have the same system in different solutions. With regards
to why the report is not generating automatically, please review
SDCCN on the satellite system.
I dialed into the system and found that the SDCCN for PB1 is not
downloading the sessions from Solution Manager.
I would recommend that you deactivate and then activate SDCCN.
Tcode SDCCN -> GoTo - Settings - Task Processor - Deactivate
Tcode SDCCN ->Utilities -> Activate
Then create a Refresh Session task and verify if the upcoming sessions
are getting pulled down to PB1.
If you need help with this, please let me know if it is fine with you
if I make the necessary changes to get the system working.
Thank you in advance and best regards,
