EWA report in mail

Hello Gurus,
EWA report is genrated weekely in solution manager (Solution Manager 7.0  on EHP1 ). I have added 3 e mail ID for receiving the report automatically in email. I found the report is delivered only in one email ID and not in other two. Can you please let me know is there any other configuration needs to be done for sending the report automatically in email to multiple email IDs.
Vineet

Hi Vineet,
It depends on how the configuration was done. For example if you have BADI enabled but the table DSWP_SYS_EMAIL only partially populated, then this issue may occur.
My suggestion is to check all the points listed in the troubleshooting Wiki link below.

  • Email address in EWA reports

    Hi gurus,
May be a simple question but I am new to Solution Manager and every morning we get emails from an email adress attached ewa reports. How can I change the e-mail adress
that these emails are coming from?
    Thanks alot.

    Tanuj,
Were you able to achieve this. The SM:EXEC SERVICES job and the SCOT job are currently run by user ID: XYZ and the the EWA
is set up by the user ID XYZ.
    I changed the following:
Deleted  SM:EXEC SERVICES and the SCOT job and recreated them to be run by user ID ABC (the one I want to change to).
It still uses XYZ as the sender (not ABC) because as the configuration is set up by user XYZ, it is creating SM:EXEC SERVICES
on the fly to be run by user ID XYZ.
Please let me know what I am missing. What else need to be changed ? Thanks.

    Hello Mahesh
The main technical difficulty is the fact that many a email servers reject HTML content as a attachment. Plus the fact that the EWA report uses IGS services if opened as a HTML page will fail all the time since the email is not connected to the IGS server of the Solution Manager.
Hence a mail body is created instead of a attachment.
I hope that you now understand the technicality of the issue.

  • EWA Report not being sent for two systems

    Hi Experts,
We are having one issue in EWA Report in solution manager. Searched hard but could not find solution.
Our solution manager is configured to provide EWA for 4 systems- ECC, BW, PI and Solution manager itself.
The configurations are in place to the extend that we are able to view the weekly reports in Solution manager.
    Issue is -
    1. We are able to recieve mail notification for Solution Manager and ECC but not able to get for BW and PI.
    2. The ECC report is coming ok, but Solution manager report is blank.
The places I checked the configuration -
    1. SDCCN for all systems.
    2. SOLMAN_EWA_ADMIN - all systems active and chcked for EWA
    3. Background Jobs for all systems -Maintenance Package, Refresh Session, Earlywatch Alert for Solution Manager
    4. Background Jobs related to the task including SM:EXEC SERVICES
Later on I deleted and rescheduled the job SM:EXEC SERVICES to make sure it covers all systems.
Data is visible in Solution Manager but report is not being sent over mail for two systems- BW and PI.
Solution manager report is being sent but empty.
    Please suggest.

  • EWA report is not opened in dswp

    Dear all,
I got an error when i opened earlywatch report from DSWP for speacfic Solution.
    Kindly check below error .
E-Mail  Hint: to search, select this document and choose Ctrl+F
Error: An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL occurred, but was neither handled locally, nor declared in a RAISING clause, Program CL_GUI_GP=====================CP, Include CL_GUI_GP=====================CM017, Row 1
    Kindly advise

    Hello Satheesh,
You can try updating the SAPGUI, as suggested.
But I think this problem is related to MS Word.
Satheesh, one way you can confirm the proble is with MS Word is to open the HTML version of the report.
Instead of clicking on the Word Document, either 1) Click on the eye classes, when the session opens, click the HTML button on the top, or 2) On the left hand side click the link.
If the HTML version opens then you know the problem is limited to just MS Word...if you have a problem with HTML, perhaps it is the SAPGUI. I suspect you will be able to open the EWA report in HTML. That can be a workaround until you implement a solution. However if it looks like it is limited to MS Word then I would advise the following.
Please check SAP Note 199123 - Word Settings and make sure that everything is set as per the note for yuor versio of MS Word.
If you are getting the error " MS Word Template Assignment failed" then you will need to apply SAP Note 1172706. If you are using Word 2000, that version is not supportedand you will need to be on at least MS Word 2002.
Also be aware if you are on Windows 7 or MS Word 2010 you should be on SAPGUI 7.20.

EarlyWatch Alert for Solutions (EWAfS) provides an EWA report for a solution landscape. It will summarize information.
In your Solution Landscape design, there is only one system per Solution Landscape.
Therefore EWAfS will have less benefit for you.
    Thanks for your positive feedback.

  • EWA Reporting

    Hello guys,
Perhaps someone can help me. We have different systems eg. P01,P02,..P05. and each system has a different manager. They all want every week for their system an EWA Report.
My question: Is this possible ( by email ) and how can i make it work?
I'm working with Solution Manager 3.2 for 4 weeks now.
    Please help me..
    Meindert

    Dear Meindert,
I am not sure whether I get the requirement correctly. But I assume that you want to selectively send EWA's for Different SID's to different email addresses.
There is an BADI added from SP9 onwards which enables us to email EWA's of different SID's to different Email addresses.
The IMG path for the same is as follows :
SAP Solution Manager Implementation Guide   >
SAP Solution Manager   > Scenario Specific Settings   > Operations
Sending Service Reports by Internet E-mail   >
Email Filter   > BADI EWA Email Filter.
and here is the IMG documentation :
This IMG activity assigns E-Mail addresses to system IDs, in the
maintenance view of the table DSWP_SYS_EMAIL. EarlyWatch Alert reports
are only sent to the E-Mail addresses which are assigned to the systems.
    Activities
Assign E-Mail addresses to system IDs:
    1. Choose New Entries.
    2. Enter the following values:
    Object ID
    SAP system ID
    E-Mail address
    3. Save your engries.
    Transaction SM30 table: DSWP_SYS_EMAIL
    BAdI EWA E-Mail Filter
    Use
Use this BAdI to send reports automatically by e-mail in the Operations
    Solution Manager.
    Functions:
Change the subject text of the e-mail
Filter function for e-mail addresses using criteria (system etc.)
    Requirements
You must first maintain the mapping table using the IMG activity "Map
    Systems to E-Mail Addresses".
    Default Settings
The inactive BAdI implementation (DSWP_EMAILFILTER) is supplied. You can
use this to filter e-mail addresses by system IDs.
    Multiple usage is possible.
    No filter is used.
    Activities
The following activities must be performed if you want to use the
    standard system version:
    1. Maintain Customizing table (DSWP_SYS_EMAIL, see prerequisites).
    2. Start the activity. The following dialog that appears shows you all
    active and inactive BAdI implementations.
    3. You can activate the implementation by selecting a row using the
matchstick icon (if the implementation is not already active).
If you want to use your own (customer-specific) function, you need to
    create your own BAdI implementation.
To do so, proceed as follows:
    4. Start the activity. The active and inactive BAdI implementations are
    now displayed.
    5. You can use the "Create Implementation" button to create your own
    implementation.
    6. Assign a name to the enhancement implementation and enter a short
text. Confirm your entries and assign a package.
    7. The system may display a message saying that the assigned package
does not have a switch. Confirm this by choosing "Yes".
    8. Enter a name for the BAdI implementation and confirm this.
    9. Expand the tree structure for the implementation and choose
    "Implementing Class".
    10. Enter a name for the class and then double click to access forwards
    navigation. Assign a package here.
    11. Now implement the interface method with your required function and
    activate the class.
    Transaction SE19 - BADI Definition DSWP_EWA_EMAILFILTER_BADI_DEF
I hope that the above information helps if this is your requirement.

Since the caller of the procedure could not have anticipated that the

  • Missing data in weekly EWA report

    Hello SDN,
I have run weekly EWA reports for our productive ECC5 system through SolMan 3.1 for some time, but recently I've noticed that some information is missing from the report.
Section 11.2 (Response Times) includes a graph showing the Top 5 transactions. The transactions are listed as Transaction 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 on the graph and there used to be a table below the graph that showed that (e.g.) Transcation 1 was MMBE, Transaction 2 was LT27, etc..
For some reason, that table no longer appears and the graph is of no little use on its own, because I have no idea what transactions it refers to.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?
    Thanks,
    Arwel Owen.

    Hi Ragu,
The strange thing is that this table used to be displayed up until around 6 weeks ago, when it just disappeared off the EWA report. Nothing was changed (knowingly) to cause this. Also, the graph that the table refers to is still included in the report, it's just the table that's disappeared. If anything had been changed, I would have expected both graph and table to change.
    Thanks for your help.
    Arwel.

    Hi Christian.
You could put the lines of your list in a table of type SOLISTI1 and then use the function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1 to send the content of this table. You have to fill the table RECEIVERS with the address you want to send the report to.
    Hope that helps,

  • EWA reports for non abap systems

    Hello gurus,
I am facing a problem with configuration of EWA reports for SAP NW Portal.
I have already configured EWA for abap systems, and those are running good on weekly basis. but i have problem with configuration of reports for java systems.
So far, i have installed an SMD agent and CA on my EP-satellite system. I have also configured and SMD server on my Sollution Manager and registered the SMD agent on SMD server and installed Willy Introscope on SMD server.
I am using a central SLD which is running on different host as Solution Manager. I did all the configuration (smsy_setup, configuration of sld_data_supplier etc... )
I have also created the system in SMSY, matched the smsy with SLD (data source SLd)and assigned Logical component to java system.
    >>> But when i want do define data collection in the SMD for Gargage Collection (task in scheduler) i cannot see host of my portal system in the SMD.
In the SMD i can see just the abap systems  for which the EWA are being already generated.
(i have done also configuration>>connecting managed sytem to the SMD, but i still cannot connect my Portal system to SMD)
Do you have any idea, what i have done wrong?
My solution manager is running on Sap NW 7.0, SPS16,
Sattelite system , EP  SPS 19
Thank you very much for your points!!

    Hello Jagan,
I was following the enclosed guide from the note: 976054, but it doesn't help to solve my issue.
And when i want to permorm the setup for the managed systems,(http://<host><port>/smd -> diagnostic setup->managed systems ->setup wizard) i can not see there my Portal systems, just the abap systems.
    Do you have any idea?

    Parameter EVENT
To provide special functionality or control system behavior, Oracle has a number of events. These can be activated in the configuration file and/or dynamically in the server manager or sqlplus.
In general, these events and parameters should be activated on request only. When they are no longer needed, they should be removed. However, it might be necessary to activate some events during normal database operation.

  • New EWA Report Topic - Software Change Management

    Dear Experts,
    EWA reports has a new topic named Software Change Management , in this topic there is a subject name "Transport Requests with a short Transition Time" with following explanation;
Explanation :      Transport requests with short transition time,The duration between the export from the development system and the import into the production system was shorter than one day.
Total number of transport requests     74     Total number of transport requests in production.
Recommendation: Transport requests with a short transition time of less than one day have occurred in the last week. These transports may not have been tested sufficiently.
All transport requests must be tested carefully before they are imported to the production system. The requests must not be developed and tested by the same person.
Transport requests must be bundled and imported to the production system together for maintenance cycles or releases. Daily imports are only permitted in emergency situations.
How can we check which requests Export from DEV date and Import in PRD are same ?
    Best Regards
