EWM - set up Slotting / best practice guide

Hi EWM-experts,
who is aware of any best practice guide on how to set up and customize slotting for SAP EWM?
I'm just preparing a conference room pilot for EWM. Following SAP's [integration guide|http://help.sap.com/SCENARIOS_BUS2007/helpdata/EN/45/196435011c0064e10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm], the in- and outbound processes work fine now but I cannot find any documentation about how to customize slotting apart from the insufficient information on the EWM [help.sap.com pages|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm50/helpdata/en/5f/c69040bca2ef4ae10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm].
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Martin

Hi Martin,
If you contact me via email (it's on my forum profile) I will put you in touch with one of our EWM consultants. - we can update this thread if they have anything appropriate.
Thanks James

  • Best practice guide for Batch Load utility in Oracle UCM.

    Hi,
Is there any best practice guide for Oracle UCM Batch Loader utility.
We are looking for information regarding batch size in terms of number and size of contents. Also is there any loading time standards considering the contents are uploaded in filesystem where filestore provider is configured?
    Thanks,

    Hi ,
There are no specific set of steps / practices for batch loading contents to ucm . It would be very much dependent on how many contents does the user have to load to UCM and how well the server is configured in terms of performance .
You can get more details from the following documentation link : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21043_01/doc.1111/e10792/c02_settings009.htm

  • Howto or best practice guide

I am ready to start testing NSM, mainly for management of home
directories but I cannot seem to find anything about the network
design/requirements for this product. I can see the install guides but
    nothing about server requirements.
Do I need a dedicated server for this or would it be fine on an existing
    OES server?
How much RAM etc does it need?
How many servers do I need? We have about 3000 users currently.
Does the server(s) need a replica? I really don't want to add more
replicas if it can be prevented.
Is there a best practices guide somewhere?
    Thanks
    Buster

I cannot find the server requirements in the docs. I'm sure it's there
somewhere but I cannot find it. When looking at the "prerequisites" page
    at
    http://www.novell.com/documentation/...a/a20gkue.html
it doesn't mention anything about actual software/server requirements.

  • Looking for a best-practices guide for developing in TestStand

I am looking for a best-practices guide for developing in TestStand. LabVIEW has its style guides and books, but there is very little published about TestStand.
Also, and I mention this since NI checks these entries as well, how about adding TestStand to the NI Developer Zone?
Thanks in advance for any leads or documents you can provide!

Thanks! I was stuck on entering "TestStand best practices" into NI's search engine, and never thought of entering "TestStand style guide."
If anyone knows of additional pertinent content, I would appreciate hearing about it.

  • Best practices guide.

I'm about to  upgrade from an ASA5520 to ASA5525, is there a best practices guide anyone know if I can follow for this project.

    Hi,
I am currently not aware of any really thorough guide on this, though then again I havent really looked. Maybe there would be idea in trying to make that kind of document myself since the question naturally keeps coming up again and again.
I would say the following things are the things that need most redoing when migrating from 8.2 (or below) to 8.3 (or newer)
NAT configurationsBecause the configuration format has changed
ACL configurations, mostly those attached to any kind of interface towards which NAT is appliedBecause the traffic is now opened towards the Real IP instead of NAT IP
Some VPN configuration formatsBecause of having both ikev1 and ikev2, your configurations might need an added "ikev1" in the Phase1/Phase2 configurations
Naturally if you have some specific questions on how something would be configured in a new software we can help with that.

    Hello ,
I assume you are looking BW integration for SRM.
In the related business scenario config guides at the end they have given necessary BW integration with SRM.
I will send you the guides.
Mostly you should refer the 'spend analysis' guides as it talks mostly on integartion and reporiting in SRM through BW.

  • Best Practices Guide for SAP CRM 7.0 on Paymetrics Integration

    Hello Experts
It would be of great help if someone can guide us to any available Best Practices Guide for SAP CRM 7.0 on Paymetrics Integration.
We are working with SAP CRM 7.0 together with an ECC system connected to it. We are looking at both Authentication as well as Payment part of Paymetrics.
I am interested in the following:
-> Architecture involving ECC, SAP CRM 7.0 and Paymetrics.
-> The Customizing/Configurations/Enhancements needed to integrate Paymetrics (ECC / SAP CRM 7.0 / WebShop Admin / XCM).
-> Storage of Credit Card data (whether in ECC or CRM or none).
-> Authentication process (whether needed in both ECC as well as CRM).
    -> Payment process.
    -> Recurring payments (B2B scenario).
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Code Set pattern or best practice?

    Hi all,
I have what I would have thought to be a common problem: the best way to model and implement an organization's code sets. I've Googled, and I've forumed - without success.
The problem domain is this: I'm redeveloping an existing application, which currently represents it's vast array of code sets using a seperate table for each set. There are currently 180+ of these tables. Not a very elegant approach at present. The majority of these code sets are what I would class as "simple" - a numeric value associated with a textual description - eg 1 = male, 2 = female, or 1 "drinks excessively", 2 "drinks sometimes" ... etc. Most of these will just be used to associate a value with a combo box selected value.
There are also what I would class as "complex" code sets, which may have 1..n attributes (ie not just a numeric and text value pair). An example of this (not overly complex) is zip code, which has a unique identifier, the zip code itself (which may change - hence the id), a locality description, and a state value.
Is there a "best practice" approach or pattern which outlines the most efficient way of implementing such code sets? I need to consider performance vs the ability to update the code set values, as some of them may change from time to time without notice at the discretion of government departments.
I had considered hard coding, creating classes to represent each one, holding them in xml files, storing in the database etc, but it would seem that making the structure generic enough to cater to varying numbers of attributes and their associated datatypes will be at the cost of performance.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Paul C.

    Hi Saish,
Thanks for your response. Yes, this approach is what
I had considered - I'll be using Hibernate so these
    values will be cached etc.
I guess my main concern is reducing the huge number
of very small tables in use. I was thinking about
this some more, and for the simple tables was
thinking of 2 tables: 1 (eg "CODE_SET") to describe
the code set (or ref table etc) in question, the
second to hold the values. This way 80 odd tables
would be reduced to 2. Not sure what's best here -
simpler ER diagram or more performance!Tables...
    Enumeration
    - EnumerationId
    - EnumerationName
    - EnumerationAbbreviation
    EnumerationValues
    - EnumerationId
    - ValueIndex
    - ValueName
    - ValueAbbreviation
The above allows the names to change.
You can add a delete flag if values might be deleted but old records need to be maintianed.
Convention: In the above I specifically name the second table with a plural because it holds a collection of sets (plural) rather than a single set.
In the first table the id is the key. In the second the id and the index are the key. The ids are unique (of course). The enumeration name should be unique in the first table. In the second table the EnumerationId and value name should be unique.
Conversely you might choose to base uniqueness on the abbreviation rather than the name.
The Name vs Abbreviation are used for reporting/display purposes (long name versus short name).
It is likely that for display/report purposes you will have to deal with each of the sets uniquely rather than a group. Ideally (strongly urged) you should create something that autogenerates a java enumeration (specific with 1.5 or general with 1.4) that uses the id values and perhaps the indexes as the values and the names are generated from the abbreviations. This should also generate the database load table for the values. Obviously going forward care must be taken in how this is modified.

  • Best Practice Guides

Are there any best practice oracle EBS documents around general management and operation functionality in Oracle EBS - that would be useful from an audit standpoint. I appreciate there is the best practices for securing oracle EBS document, but there must surely be other best practice documents for other management/functionality/operations of an Oracle EBS environment?

  • Nokia (N8) phone memory : best practices / guide t...

    Hi,
I'd like to know what are the best practices to manage space / memory on my phone.
On the N8 user guide, it is simply written : "If possible, install applications to the mass
memory or memory card, rather than the device memory." (p.112) And that's all !
If I understood well there are 3 types of memory on N8 :
    256 Mo RAM
    512 Mo ROM (Phone memory, C: )
    16 Go storage (Mass memory, E: )
[and also 32GB expendable memory SDHC card 4x minimum]
Since I bought my N8, I installed everything (apps and multimedia files) on E: (mass memory)
    Today I have on :
C: Phone memory : 158 Mo free space over 254,4 Mo
    E: Mass memory : 732,1 Mo / 14,3 Go (with 12,3 Go of MP3 files)
I am using a software called Netqin Mobile Guard for S^3 (which by the way I like a lot, especially the "prompt for connection" and the "web usage manager" functions) and it tells me that I have "insufficient memory on disk E:"
So here are my questions :
1 - Is it true that 732 Mo free on disk E: is not enough ?
2 - Why is better to install everything on mass memory if there is 256 Mo RAM and free space on phone memory ?
3 - If I use a SDHC card to free some space on E: (move all my MP3 files), will it consumes more battery power?
I spent some time looking for answers on internet but I didn't find any to these questions... Any help would be much appreciated. Also if you have any advice on RAM optimisation, I'd take it ! My way to optimise it is to close all apps I'm not using from the app manager. Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post, but I think it would be helpful for a lot of people!
    Regards

    rayhipkiss wrote:
Question 1.> 732MB is what is left on the internal mass memory. NetQin is just warning you that you do not have much storage left if you want to add more files. The " insufficient memory on disk E " is just an over dramatic warning in my opinion.
--> this is also what I thought but as I wrote in my previous answer, I'd like to be sure my phone is not going to crash if my data reach 99% of E: capacity
Question 2. > It is better to leave as much free memory as possible on the C drive to give the phone better performance. The less memory their is on C the slower the phone becomes.
--> that's what I understood from what I've read but does it mean that "C: memory" is used more or less as additional RAM memory? Or is it just (as you say about Netqin app.) an "over dramatic warning" from Nokia to prevent users from reaching full capacity and then crashing the phone?
Question 3. > I'm not sure by adding an SD card would consume any significant amount of extra power. Unless you are permanently accessing the SD card. It wont consume extra power when the phone is idle.
--> then I may need to buy a SD card to  store all my MP3s and let everything else on the mass memory. I asked this question 'cause I remember having noticed using a palm with a sd card (I know this is old stuff) that it impacted the battery.
It would be nice to have official statements from Nokia on these topics, don't you think?
    Thanks anyway for your answers!
