Ex2010 shared mailbox folder won't open in OWA2013

Hi,
I've got simple lab environment:
2x Widnows 2008R2 + Exchange 2010sp3
Widnows 2008R2 + Exchange 2013cu3
1 x test mailbox13 on 2013
1 x test mailbox10 on 2010
I added full access permission on mailbox10 to mailbo13 and want to open it with OWA.
I can do that by "open another mailbox..." option in another browser window but
when I want to "add shared folder..." to folder structure on the left panel:
In Outlook 2010 everything is ok and I can view two mailbox trees on the left.
CalendarFolderConfiguration looks fine and clean.
Any ideas?

Hi,
Firstly, I’d like to explain, OWA 2013 can open all folders while OWA 2010 can open only inbox and calendar.
Open another mailbox makes all folders open in another window. Add shared folder make two mailbox open in the same tab.
And I have a test on my lab: if I add shared folder with an account which I haven’t granted full access permission to , the same error message appears. if the permission is well, I don’t get any error message.
According to your description, Outlook works well. Maybe the issue is related to OWA configuration. Thus,we can use MFCMAPI to remove the IPM.Configuration.Owa.OtherMailbox message hidden in the mailbox and then try again.
Additionally, we can also check if there is any error in the event log to narrow down the cause and try to re-add the full access permission.
Best regards,
Angela Shi

  • How to make a Shared mailbox folder appear on everyones mailbox automatically

Hello, I need to find a way for a Shared mailbox
folder to appear in everyone’s mailbox automatically – preferably in their favorites. We currently have a Public Folder where everyone in the company can drag or email any suspicious, fishing, etc.
emails. Unfortunately that is not good enough for our company's upper management. They
wants me to find a way to add a folder on everyone’s mailbox so they can easily find it under their favorites and drag any questionable messages to it.
I created a Shared mailbox for this purpose and a folder and I gave everyone access to it. Now
I’m not sure how to make this folder appear automatically in everyone’s mailbox favorites. If there is a way to accomplish this I would appreciate any suggestions.  I wonder if there is a
powershellcmdlet that can help me do this. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated. For now we are running on a mix environment Exchange 2010/2013, but pretty soon it will be 2013 only. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I wouldn't recommend this method, trust me this might become mess if doesn't go to right direction. People might use this shared mailbox for their
own use. Best practice is to create a shared mailbox with some sensible name like [email protected] or
something like that and then share it on the announcement board or send an announcement mail to all users and ask them to forward their spam, suspicious, fishing mails to this address.

  • Apps in Utility folder won't open

I've got a Macbook Pro 13' Retina from medio 2014 with Yosemite installed.
I cannot open "About this Mac", but I have the latest OS version. What can I do about that?
Further, in the utility folder I cannot open my apps, such as Activity monitor, Terminal, Disk Utility, etc. See picture below.

When I click on the apps it either open and close immediately, or it says that the app cannot open or it can be damaged.
I have tried to start my computer in Safe Mode, but it did not help.
    What can I do?

    Hi, rain4149.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I would first recommend processing a repair of permissions and disk.

  • ITunes Music folder won't open

In Windows 7 I go to Start>Music>iTunes>iTunes Media and then try to open the Music folder for iTunes but nothing happens. I double click it and right click and hit open but nothing happens. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Tried that, it's weird in the fact that it's only that one folder that does it now.

  • Shared review attachments won't open

    Hi,
My team is working with Acrobat X, Acrobat 9 and Reader X. In a shared review, none of the attachments (Excel, Word) are accessible except by the creator. We can't open or save them in any of the Acrobat versions I listed. Any clue on this?
    Johnny_Bigtime

These were added as comments and published in the shared review.
I receive no error messages because the "open" button doesn't function. I click it but nothing happens. I attached a screenshot of the attachments panel. You can see that the file extensions are Excel docs but they come up as "unknown".

Yesterday I was dragging and dropping music out of an mp3 folder into iTunes, at one point it quit working and now I can't double click on the folder to open it, however I can still right click and explore it.
Is there any way to fix this?
    Thanks

  • HELP!! Half of my files from my media folder won't open!!

I've been using iMovie for years and have never seen this before.
I created a large project some time ago, and only about 50% of the files from the projects media folder will open. They show up in he media folder as the little black Unix executable file icons rather that the regular white clip icon.
I've tried importing from within iMovie and get error message -2002, and the message that Quicktime can not parse the file. I've also tried opening the .mov file from the original project folder but no good.
I REALLY need to salvage these files, any assistance would be much appreciated. I'm using iMovie HD in 10.3.9.

  • My photo folder won't open

When I click on the folder I've called Photo Folder, I get a message saying that the alias couldn't open it because the original is missing. So I went to Time Machine and followed the directions in numerous backups,  doing the Restore actions, many  times, seeing the files get copied, each time, and having Time Machine create a new Photo Folder alongside the original, each time. I still can't open either Photo Folder, and I'm miserable, because those are my cherished photos. The Photo Folder seemed to be there, all the time; I didn't do anything to harm the folder, unless upgrading OS X from Leopard 10.5.8to Snow Leopard 10.6-8, one version of Firefox to another "better" one or the same with Safari, and so on, could harm my photos and make it seem as though the folder had disappeared. And by the way, some individual photos that are just hanging around, loose, open just fine.
Oh, man, I have been having so many problems since I upgraded, but all those changes were necessary for me to be able to do even basic things effectively. (Among other things, Apple Mail now changes my message sort order from Date Received to Subject every time I blink an eye. I still haven't gotten an answer or suggestion about that yet, months later.)
But for now I can live with the shifting messages, if I can only get my photos back in the land of the living. Can you help me?
    Thank you so much.

Forgive my ignorance, Eric, but I am not sure what you mean, nor how to do what you suggest. What I do is go to the list of items in Macintosh HD and double-click on what I believe is the folder, itself. Is that the alias, not the folder? In answer to your question, I get a message saying that the alias can't find the original folder because it is "missing." When I've presumably restored the folder with Time Machine (after it shows the files in the folder loading), the same thing happens. I've been saving the original folder (it says, "Photo Folder (original)," and discarding the alias when that option is offered. I then try to open the new "Photo Folder" but get the same results.
If what I'm doing when trying to open the folder is not what I should be doing, can you lead me by the hand here and tell me how to bypass the alias? I'd really appreciate that.
By the way, I didn't mention that (thinking that something had been corrupted) before I tried Time Machine, I built a new directory with Disk Warrior (4.4) and ran Disk Utility (permissions repair and disk verify). As always, permissions repair found and said it repaired various mismatches and other difficulties, and the disk was reported to be OK.
Thanks for your considerate reply. I hope that I'll be able to fix whatever is wrong. Those photos are very precious to me.

It just started happening, but now when I double-click on my desktop folders, they will not open. • Read Status does not apply correctly when working out of a shared mailbox.

since updating to the Exchange 2010 SP3 RU4, users have been experiencing the same issues when working out of shared mailboxes. when user 1 opens an email or manually marks the email as read the status does not change from their perspective, the email remains
unread. however, the other users viewing the shared mailbox immediately see the status change to read. User 1 has to re-sort his email from catagory to received or from ect. As soon as the emails are resorted the status changes. alternatively, if User 1 views
another folder and returns back. the email is marked as read.
This problem happens with Outlook 2007 and 2010
This happens after re-creating the profile
opening outlook with the switches /cleanprofile /cleanviews seems to solve the problem for an hour or so.
I have run mailbox repairs on the server for the mailboxes in question.
changing the behaviour in tools>options>reading pane> has no effect.

    Hi Brenn,
To narrow down the issue, we need more investigation:
1.Does the issue occurs only in Category view? Please check if user 1 set the view to Date and email read status update.
2.Does the issue occurs to user1's own mailbox with the same setting as shared mailbox?
3.If the shared mailbox is in cached mode, please check Account Settings > Change > More Settings... > Adwanced > Use Cached Exchange mode > check Download shared folders.
4.Please switch to online mode for shared mailbox and test the issue.

  • Signed messages are missing from search results in a shared mailbox

We recently completed moving all user mailboxes to Exchange 2013 from Exchange 2010.  We also have a policy that disables the 'download shared mailboxes' option in Outlook as it cause .ost files to get cumbersome and cause performance problems.  This
means that shared mailboxes that users have open are all in 'Online' mode.  Since the move to 2013, when users search against a folder in a shared mailbox, the only items that are returned are unsigned messages.  Our customer base very frequently
signs email and these signed messages do not show up in results.  This was working in Exchange 2010 so our users are frustrated by the sudden inability to receive complete and accurate search results.
If they perform a search of their local mailbox, which is using Cached mode, they are searching against their local index and they can find signed messages.  But since the shared mailbox is not cached to their local system, they are relying on the Exchange
server index and it does not seem to be indexing any signed messages.
Does anyone know how to force Exchange 2013 to index signed messages?

try to perform the below steps and check if it works or else we need to wait till Exchange 2013 SP1 which they have planned to bring digital signature message in exchange
    Outlook 2007
In Outlook 2007, follow these steps to verify that indexing is complete:
In Outlook, click Tools, Instant Search, and then click
    Instant Search.
When the Microsoft Office Outlook dialog appears, you should see the following:
Outlook has finished indexing all of your items.
New items are indexed when they arrive.
0 items remaining in "Mailbox -<<var>username</var>>"
0 items remaining across all open mailboxes.
    Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013
In Outlook 2010 and Outlook 2013, follow these steps to verify that indexing is complete:
In Outlook, click in the Search box.
Click the Search tab, click Search Tools, and then click
    Indexing Status.
When the Indexing Status dialog appears, you should see the following:
Outlook has finished indexing all of your items.
0 items remaining to be indexed.

  • Acrobat Pro XI - "Failed to Export" when exporting Shared Mailbox Folders to PDF in Outlook 2007 - any solution?

When trying to export a Shared Mailbox folder in Outlook 2007 to PDF, messages are failing consistently.
We are using the latest and greatest Adobe Acrobat XI.
It will export a little bit of the folder and then fail the rest of the items.
There are approximately 929 items in the folder, and about 237 exported before the failures started happening.
    Any advice would be great!

Bill - there is a typo above. Customer is using Acrobat X, not XI.
When we tested, we upgraded the office suite to 2010 and it worked with XI. We will just have to get him both upgraded. This hopefully should resolve the issue.
I will check back in with the results.

  • MX won't open some .fla files

I have two HDs in my XP system.
Drive 0 was partitioned as C: and D:
    Drive 1 was E:
All my .fla files were on E:
Then I repartitioned Drive 0 as C: and reinstalled XP, Flash
    MX and all software.
Thus drive E: (where all the .fla files are) is now D:
Now most of those .fla files open fine, but some won't open
    and crash Flash MX.
What are the possible reasons that SOME files won't open?
I can only assume that those files are needing resources that
may not be now available. Fonts? Components?
I have seven projects in different folders on the same drive.
Each folder contains numerous progressive saves of each
    project as it was developed.
Files of all the projects except one are just fine.
But ALL the files of ONE folder won't open.
I don't see how only that one project's files could have been
    corrupted.
More likely that the OS or Application environment is now
somehow different than before -- in a way that doesn't satisfy the
    needs of that particular project.
    Thanks!

Glad you found the answer.  I remember I used to have this problem on my Macintosh, but unfortunately I was never able to solve it...

  • HELP!!!! file won't open but could open before

ok so this file was opened a few hours ago and work was done on it. we went on and worked on other projects and now had corrections to do on it again but now it just won't open.  in fact all of the files found within the job folder won't open.
i can create a new file and save it
i can open other job files no problem
but those particular files won't open and it causes my illustrator to crash.
wierd thing is that on other computers the files open no problem.
by the way i reinstalled illustrator and the problem persists! are there cache files or preference files i can delete or something to do to reset illustrator completely that isnt done when i uninstall!?
this is done on a Mac Pro quad core, 4 Gb of ram, adobe cs 4, mac os x 10.5.8

    The problem was font related!
we took all the system fonts from another mac and overwrote all of the system fonts in the problematic mac.
    and BINGO
    problem solved!
