Exact Suport package level in SAP ERP 6.05 SPS04

Hi,
I wanted to know detailed list of levels of support packages contained in SAP ERP 6.05 SPS04 AS ABAP.
Where can I find this list other than using Solman?
Any pointer appreciated.
thanks.

Hi,
Yeah. Application, download etc for EHP5 is only through Solman.
But, am not sure why SAP has not released any notes for finding support package level. It should not be a complicated task.
Such information might come handy in following scenario, for e.g.
1) I just got new client and want to know SPS level of implemented EHP5/ EHP4 etc.
2) I have installed IDES ECC 6.0 EHP5 and want to which EHP5 stack default installation has.
Additionally, some of SAP products like SAP Best practices demands for very specific SPS level of EHP5. So why not to have SAP release notes for the same and make information flow simpler against going through series of steps in Solman.
Share thoughts.
Thanks.

    Hi Partson,
It is needed to connect this system with solution manager and create stack.xml using
maintanance optimizer. The main aim of this is to let you know what usage types/ functionalities are to be
    selected from stack.xml.
It is also needed to download all the required support packs/ addons using maintanance optimizer.
If you have DVDs containing the same product that matches with stack.xml, you can provide them.
But the safest way is is to give all the tasks to solution manager , It will create , and download neccesary sps, addons to your
    download basket.
    Thanks and Regards

    Hello,
    I tested 2 changes :
    - put entries for wdf.sap.corp in my local hosts file
    - put entries for dummy.nodomain + adjust /etc/resolv.conf
System start is OK, but access to dbacockpit is still behaving weird.
The html version fails at the start -
Impossible to connect to the URL http://vhcalabaci.dummy.nodomain:0/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/dba_cockpit?<etx>. The server responded with: Can't assign requested address.
i can go into the sapgui interface for DB02 but most of the interesting menu options are greyed out - so I can't retrieve the info.
In some of the screens in DB02 I find reference to a server wdflbmd16124 - a DB test connection to this server fails (of course). Tried to enter this name asa alias in the hosts file but that did not solve this issue. On the other hand, abaadm seems to have the correct environment info for the local ASE (since the database starts). Looks some config settings between user env and gui are not in sync.
But I miss ASE skills to figure out where I need to correct this.
Mixed feelings about this installation - it looks like the application part will work - but having this confusing setup might still give surprises at later stages.
So I hope your team works on a clean version of this image and will deploy is soon.

  • Ess/mss package level

    Hi All,
    I have read the wiki - http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viepage.action?pageId=31476
I have a question on the levels
I can see that the support packages available on SAP Market place are on different levels  as below
    PCUI_GP 603 - available SP 6.0
    ESS 603 - available SP 7.0
    MSS 600 (603 not available) - available SP 18.0
Should I keep it all on 6? or can i have PCUI_GP on 6, ESS on 7, and MSS on 18? Please advise.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
I hope this matrix clarifies the issue
    https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/ERPHCM/HOWTOGETRIDOFSPSTACKMISMATCHISSUES
Please keep PCUIGP and ESS onthe same release. Indeed for MSS there's no EHP3 version (603) but you can follow the suggestion on the page I mentioned above. You can use MSS 600 SP18.
Both SAPPCUIGP07_0-20002356.SCA and SAPESS07_0-20002355.SCA are available on the service marketplace:
http://service.sap.com/patches -- Support Packages and Patches - Entry by Application Group -- SAP Application Components -- SAP ERP -- SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE -- EHP3 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 -- Entry by Component -- SAP XSS (Self Services).

  • EHP4 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 / NW7.01

I am new to SAP and have successfully Installed SAP ERP 6.0/NW 7.01 on Windows Server 2008 R2 with Oracle 10g. We would like to go ahead and apply the enhancements Package 4 to ERP 6.0 (SAP Enh. Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 1). I have no knowledge on how to install Enhancement packages.
Can someone please guide me on what is needed. What program or utility I can use to apply the EHP4. Any tips or direction would be would be nice.

    Hi Amirsd,
You will need to use your Solution manager system to apply EHP 4 to your newly installed system.
Use MOPZ to generate XML file which contains the packages to be downloaded to upgrade your current system to EHP 4.0
After that download EHPI tool from SAP Marketplace and use EHPI tool to install downloaded packages.
It would run in 7 phases including downtime phase.
Let me know if you have any queries. !!!!

But I have not find there in the SAP's Portal
    I found only:
        SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE
SAP ENH PACK 3 FOR SAP ERP 6.0
              SAP ERP ENHANCE PACKAGE 2005.2
I have a pack of DVDs 'SAP ERP 6.0 SR3' which contents:
    - upgrade master (51033520)
    - installation export (51033500) 2 dvd
    - ERP components (51033525)
    - Upgrade export (51033501) 3 dvd

    - Documentation SAP ERP (50085424)
Do you explain how and where I can dowload and install the component SAP_APPL,600
    Thanks.

    Hi,
EHPs are cumulative, you should only install the parts from the latest EHP (=EHP3).
There is no need (and benefit) to install EHP1 or 2.
The download should be done using Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer (not SMP) - here you get also a valid Stack XML generated which ist required to perform the installation.
More information here: The specified item was not found. or here: http://service.sap.com/~sapidb/011000358700001166742007E

  • EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0

    Hello,
I am installing Enhancement Package 4 for SAP ERP 6.0 (Windows Server 2003 x64/Oracle) using EHPinstaller tool.
SAP ERP 6.0 is an existing system. When I started the EHPi tool, I got to know that there are 8 stages in the installation roadmap.
If anyone has done this before, could you please let me know how much time (days/hrs) does this entire process take (all the 8 stages) as I am stuck in the EXTRACTION stage (2nd stage) for more than 24 hrs now. The EHPi is running as I can see in the task manager (1 to 4% CPU Utilization with no users on the SAP system), but its taking lots of time.
I havent even entered the 'resource utilization strategy' yet, which is taken as a parameter in the 3rd stage of CONFIGURATION.
I have already done the PREPARATION steps in installation guide, but am unable to find the reason behind such a long running stage.
Also, on checking EHPi logs, no error is logged as yet.
Please let me know the how long should I wait before stopping/terminating the installation?
    Regards,
    Saurabh.

This depends HEAVILY on your system speed. I have made EHP4 installations taking 2 days to 7 days.
24h for the extraction is very much, there seems to be a problem. I'd check the latest logs in EHPI\abap\log for possible issues. The extraction usually does nothing more than extracting all the SAR files to the correct places. This shouldn't take 24 h.
BTW: there's a special forum for EHP installations: /community [original link is broken]

I searched through the sofware marketplace but didnt find what im looking for. The only things i found are EHP6 on NW 7.3 or EHP6 on 7.03.

  • Brand new SAP ERP Installation

In my small consulting firm we want to setup an ECC system in our lab to give Demo to our Business Objects customers.
    So, here are my doubts:
If we would like to install IDES which is the latest version do you suggest to download.
Also, do you think, 400GB of Hard Disk should be sufficient enough for the ECC and Database Installation?
Which set of files i should download from Service Market Place under this path as i am finding quite a few of them which are confusing.
    SAP ERP 6.0 -> Microsoft Windows -> Microsoft SQL-Server
    Thanks,
    Tilak

    hi tiak,

    IDES Version
Which set of files i should download from Service Market Place
click on IDES Version and  You can download files as per your requirement.
400GB of Hard Disk should be sufficient enough for the ECC and Database Installation?
    400GB is enough space.
    IDES is available with Oracle.

  • Official Support from SAP on Support package levels

I have NW7 Dual stack system. Currently at SP10
Looking for an "official Policy" on supported SP levels from SAP, if it exists already. Please help me by providing a link that information or a document if it exists.
We are working on an ongoing infrastructure support policy for this installation.
    Thanks in advance.
    Vasu

You can run a certain level of support packages as long as you can live with the "deficiencies" resulting out of that. You can run on the initial installed level if you can deal with the fact, that you will need to apply a LOT of notes in case you run into an error (because of dependent notes because of the low support package level).
There may also be cases where it´s impossible to provide a correction by note (e. g. table changes) and where corrections can only be delivered by support packages.
Last but not least the law may force you to install a certain level (e. g. fiscal year change) to get the newest (and correct) data out of the system for all kinds of changes that may be necessary to comply the law.
Basically you can leave your system on a certain support package as long as you wish but it may become difficult or even impossible to give you a solution if more than an ABAP code correction is necessary.
This is especially true on dual stack systems where a change in the portal may force you to upgrade your complete backend to a certain level because there the ABAP + Java stack must be in sync --> one of the reasons why we totally avoid dual stack installations.

  • Curiosity about the level of load on SAP ERP systems

    Hello all,
In my company, I'm in charge of the SAP capacity planning and so, every month, I fill several Excel sheets to follow the load of our systems.
I am curious to know if our load is similar to that of other SAP ERP customers.
I would be happy if some of you would like to post their monthly load statistics for R/3 or ECC systems.
    Of course, I begin :
Production R/3 4.7 ext2 system, main modules SD and MM.
460 declared users, average 110 concurrent users
1 Win 2003 MSCS itanium cluster with 5 win 2000 32 bit app servers.
    stats for November :
    Thousands of steps
    TOTAL :            22 500
    Dialog :                 797
    Background :        459
    RFC :                4 439
    UPD and UP2 : 14 418
    HTTP :                  523
Average dialog step response time : 548 ms
    Database size : 1.1 To
The load evolution of the system  is
    always increasing
    stable for dialog steps (sapgui)
more and more external RFC calls
more and more web services calls
The system is less and less a transactional system and more and more a backoffice system executing services calls.
Thanks to all who will be interested to share this load information.
    Regards,
    Olivier

We are a manufacturing company and we have a lot of batch processing (MRP et al).
Yes - the systems are pretty big
    DB-Server/CI: 4 x DualCore Opteron - 48 GB Memory (ENQ, BTC)
    AppServer: 4 x Opteron 48 GB Memory
From a technical point of view we wouldn´t need the application server, the DB server could handle that load too.
The main requirement we have is, that the avg. reponse time in VA01 for each line item is below 450 ms everywhere on the world (China, Poland, Russia) on those remote locations - the system is in Germany - so we are trying to make sure, that the main time consumed on the box itself is rather small because of not always reliant network connections to the east part of the world (actually VPN). 1/3 - 1/2 of the actual avg. reponse time is consumed for network transmission.
On top of that we have about 550 printers defined because we print everything, that is related to the business process out of this SAP system which will also consume quite a bit of network speed/bandwith.
Our users are pretty much "regaled" with response time, on days, where the avg. time is increasing 100 ms, we get a LOT of calls because of a slow system. The benchmark assumed 2 seconds are unacceptable for our users thus it may appear, that the boxes are oversized but we need that power to ensure the speed.
