Exactly the same dropped frame everytime
Hi all,
So, I have a 35 minute sequence (PAL) and i am printing to tape.
I'm using a dual g5, with a gig of ram and 3 external HDs (two daisy chained together).
I'm printing to my deck a Sony hdv deck (set to record dvcam, not hdv).
I keep getting a dropped frame as I'm recording to tape at exactly the same point each time. On exactly the same frame.
I have done everything you're supposed to do, but i'm still at a loss.
any suggestions?

I have an even weirder problem. I skype every night with a person nearby, and the call mac-to-mac is dropped every night at exactly the same hour, to the minute. I have to close skype and restart it and call again and then it works without problems.

How to update 2 TransformGroup at exactly the same time?
Hi all,
In my 3D scene, I would like to apply transformation to my shapes at the same time that my eye point is moving; for example, just like in car racing games where your car is always visible in front of you, and your eye point and lookAt point change as the car moves.
As a beginner to 3D programming, I've chosen the following approach. My first TransformGroup has the Transform3D object on which I'll called the lookAt method. This takes care of changing the eye point. My second TransformGroup has the shapes for the car as its child. Both TransformGroup objects are added to the root node of my scene graph.
While both TransformGroup have the ALLOW_TRANSFORM_WRITE capabilities set, I launched another thread to call the setTrasform methods on the 2 TransformGroup objects at regular intervals.
This seems to be working in terms of translating my objects and eye point, but I see noticable flickers. I suspect that's because for any given frame, the two setTransform calls to the two TransformGroup objects don't happen at exactly the same time. Do you think that is the problem?
Please let me know of any other approach to this problem.

Newtab question: How do I ''input'' the nine (yes 3X3) boxes to be my specific permanent sites exactly the same each time I hit the newtab+? I know that I can hit the 'save' button but I want it to be MY selection before the save. Evert time I hit the newtab it seems to use my history to keep moving them up the line.
I have used google.com/ig as my home for years. In November the sites that are my personal choices will be gone as Google has decided to eliminate "IG"!
For example the NYTimes (with about 5-6 daily lead articles) appear in my upper left of the personalized home site. I would at least like to see that summary. At least with Newtab I can save it.
Is there a program step in FF that I can achieve my results and put nine sites into it and click them to be permanent as well as being able to edit them in the future?You can change the order of the boxes on the about:newtab page and drag an item to a different slot to pin it to that position or you can remove a website by clicking the close X to block that URL.
You can drag a bookmark or history item and drop them in a slot on the about:newtab page to pin them and have your own favorites sites showing.
Changes made manually on the about:newtab page are stored in the browser.newtabpage.pinned (default = [null]) and browser.newtabpage.blocked prefs that you can check/modify on the about:config page. -

Yes. Copy your apps and other iTunes purchases/downloads to your computer's iTunes via File > Transfer Purchases (File > Devices > Transfer Purchases if you have iTunes 11 on your computer), then backup up the first iPad and restore that backup onto the second iPad.

Things that aren't included in a backup include the contents of the Music and Videos apps (but they should be on your computer's iTunes) and photos that were synced from a computer. Also you will need to enter your passwords (email, wifi, website) on the second iPad - they won't be restored onto a different device, only back onto the device that the backup came from. -
me and my mom share the same itunes account, everytime i download a app it goes to her phone automattically as well, how can i stop this?

I have created a PDF form with multiple drop downs, all with the same drop down values. When I select a value from 1 of the drop down fields, it replicates in all of the others - which I do not want. Can I fix this?
I'm fairly new to this, but I think it has to do with the way you have the drop downs named. Did you copy one then keep pasting it in each field? If so, that is the problem. You should rename each one with a different number: Dropdown1, Dropdown2, etc. I think that might solve the issue.

As long as they are already ticked in your iTunes then yes. Just to check do a sync and as long as everything stays the same you are good to go.

i have just updated my iphone 4 16gb to an iphone 5 16gb
The iphone 4 had horrific problems, for example: Cutting out on calls, it going silent, me not being able to hear the person i was speaking to and them being able to hear me, and then visa vera.. also the main button at the bottom started to break.. my text messages weren't sending and then when they did they would send several of the same one.. also with mixed messages in them.. some of the texts had been form ages ago and had been deleted anyway and bits of them would re appear in the middle of the text, but only show to the person recieveing the text.
I thought all of this might have been some water damage as i had nearly had it for 2 years... However on Tuesday.. ( 29th Jan) i recieved my new upgrade of the iphone 5.. i was so excited, but then today.. 2 days after recieving it, its starting to do EXACTLY the same things my old phone did... cutting me off, going quiet on the phone, not sending texts, then sending several ones... sending mixed texts. Safe to say i am fuming!!! i am with vodafone and rang them today asking why?! they said it couldnt be my handset as its a new one, couldnt be the sim because thats new too so it must be the area signal.. so she checked for me.. came back to me and said that the signal in my area is perfectly fine....?!?!?! that makes it even worse!!! so i have asked to return it....!! i was going to go with a different provider thinking that it was vodafone??but after looking on here it seems like its apple? i am very disappointed as i love everything else about the phone, but its impossible to have a phone like this! especially when i use it for work too!My wife is having the same problems as a reciever. She works in a school as a teaching assistant and her teacher sends messages that are mixed with previous texts from ages ago.
Can anyone shed some light on this problem or is it only her and this poster?

My photos always seem to look darker in photoshop elements than when I view them in windows photo viewer - and now I have purchased the annual contract for photography cloud they look exactly the same in PS CC6 as they do in photo viewer - but I still use PS Elements 12 for some tasks and they still appear slightly darker in there - any ideas? - Regards Robert

How do I transfer data from old hard drive to new mac exactly the same as it was on my old one?
Unfortunately my 2009 iMac has been written off due to a faulty motherboard. Thankfully the company we got the mac from are providing me with a brand new one at no cost as I am under warranty. My old hard drive had many important documents and applications on it and we have requested for the old hard drive back. What I would like to know is how to I go about transferring all the stuff of my old hard drive to my new iMac? I would like everything to be set out exactly the same as it was on my old mac so basically I would like it cloned identical on my new mac from my old hard drive.
Thanks NathanIn general, most people will recommend Carbon Copy Cloner or SuperDuper! You can find either one easily enough with a web search.
However, in your case, I imagine you are going to have a hard disk returned to you all by itself, and you will need to install it in an enclosure. Don't let that bother you as this is easy to do and the enclosures are not expensive ($40 or so).
Once that is done, I would recommend you set up your brand new Mac by answering all the questions during initial setup as usual. Be sure to use your correct Apple ID - probably the same one you used to log into this support forum. When you reach the point in which it asks you if you would like to transfer your old documents and settings, connect the old hard disk and select it as the source. It will take some time as it copies all its contents to your new Mac. All your familiar items will be exactly as they were on the failed Mac.
After that, you can use the old hard disk as a Time Machine backup. When you are satisfied everything on your new Mac is running as it should, go ahead and erase the old disk. Then, tell Time Machine to designate it as a backup, and the rest is automatic.

I've tried practically everything. Keyboard is still acting weird. Why?
Keyboard is not responding well. It keeps disconnecting every time I press the Left Command Key. When I press the Spacebar, it presses the N key also. When I press Z, it also presses the Delete Key. Same with some of the keys, they press two buttons.
