Hi..and my apologies for this late response. I don't know what happened to alerts with this.
A month is about right, but think of two weeks hard cramming just before the test date. Get one or two good resources to focus on the test subject matter.
The exam in my opinion is a real professionalism test. It is easy to fail. Just between you and me and everyone in the WWW, I did fail it. This was because the CD I had was vague & I needed to focus harder on what is tested. I did that within the space of two weeks with STS software, and passed. I would say the test is like any other competency test; if you have the competencies (knowledge) you pass. It's not the hardest test I've ever done by a long shot, but it wasn't easy.
To give you some idea of what I call a hard test;
1) Everyone turns over the paper; you know your in about the bottom 20% of people who can pass this test; The room full of people laughs when they read the difficulty of it in the reading period (nobody actually finished the reading in the reading period). You know that most people will finish only 10 to 50 % of the paper, and the difficulty of it is almost beyond me time wise to complete and knowledge wise. It's a required pass....sweat, sweat
2) Aviation test..you are sitting doing your checks before takeoff on a Multi engine test IFR, professional licence. The aircraft costs $10 per minute; its a three hour test. If you fail, another 15 hours training ensues before retest. One engine is diffcult to start - 1 minute lost....sweat, sweat.
By comparison OCA 10g was a breeze.

  • CS5 Classroom in a Book Study Group?

    Hello everyone.
I just purchased CS5 design premium and am working through most (if not all) of the Classroom in a Book series.
I'm currently on Lesson 12 of the Photoshop book and will be finishing the book soon, then moving on to either Illustrator or InDesign.
I'm looking to create a study group with some others that might be working through these books.
I find I learn better when I'm asked questions on how to do things vs chugging through a book and not remembering things when I get done.
So if you're interested please reply here or send me a message through the boards and we can connect via e-mail, MSN messenger, google chat, or Skype.
Or maybe we could use these forums here.
I hope to hear from some of you soon.
    Best,
    Sean

These forums are a great place for learning too.  Ask a question, it'll get answered and other methods suggested as well.

  • CF Cert Exam Study Guide.

HI, I purchased a Cf exam study guide book last week. Ben Forta's book actually, but when I got it, I noticed it was from 2001..lol I think I will work through most of it, but I wanted to find a current version or something similar. I've searched a little but have yet to find anything. Can anyone recommend any study guides or even websites that are test preps? I figure if I start studying and preparing now, in a year or so I may be ready...lol Thanks in advance!

Ok lets try this again! I replied to both of you guys last night AFTER I logged in, typed up this nice response, clicked "Post Message" and of course it said I needed to log in! So I did again, and viola! my post was gone! Love all the great help here, but please someone fix the bugs!!
lol ok now that I've ranted: Dave thanks for the response and link. I knew Adobe had lost of tutorials, just wasn't sure if any were specific to the CF exam or not. I will definately go through the one you gave me.
@ecobb. Thank you as well. I have seen that site and wondered whether it was worth it or not. $40 isnt all that much money, but just hadn't heard any recommendations for their software, so was a bit hesitant.
As I said, I think I'm more of a physical text book kinda guy. I like to have the pages there in front of me so I can turn back or rework a chapter or two if needed, but I enjoy online tutorials as well. So thanks agian both of you!

  • Virtual Study Group - OCP 11g

    Hello
Any one interested in joining in a Virtual Study Group for preparing for OCP 11g? I am trying to setup a group to make the prepartion easy and enjoyable by sharing what we learn/read everyday. Please reply whoever is interested. We can use voice chats.
Hoping to see many of you very soon.
    Thanks!

Just a warning - when you put your personal email out here, you will be contacted by unscrupulous companies selling bogus practice tests that amount to little more than brain dumps. Please be aware that these materials are illegal and only serve to devalue your certification and everyone else's as well.
You can check a provider's validity on CertGuards' website at http://www.certguard.com/search.asp.
I would recommend that once you have gotten in touch with each other, that you remove your email address from your posting to avoid spamming.

Can any member of the community please provide me with some good study material or dumps ??
Want to upgrade to 10g soon.
    Thanks.

Absolutely no dumps or materials are being shared here, moreover sharing of Oracle Materials or any dumps is an illigal.

  • Oracle Forms Exam study guide

I want to study for the Oracle Forms: Build Internet application exam (IZ0-141) is this exam specified by oracle versions? Forms for 9i looks a little different that forms for 10g. If it is for 9i the download for Oracle9i Application Server is no longer available, neither is the database version. I want the setup a practice lab for the exam and I want to make sure I am using the correct configuration and that the exam is not go to refer to items that is no longer available.
    Thanks!

The exam has been validated against both versions of the training. However, we recommend the 10g training over the 9i. Hope this helps.

  • Study Group

I would like to draw your attention to all Senior SAP FICO Consultant in the forum that is from europe, that will like take part in group study. Please contact me for groupstudy & clarification. I will provide advanced study materials & support.Thank you.

It's a good idea to study in a group. It speed's up the learning process if an only if the two/more of you exchange all that you know.
But it is also likely that you are the only who is exchanging all that you know and the other is not contributing much.
So I'd suggest it's better that you either look for your friend rather than a stranger over the internet to join you. You can study all alone too. And in-case you have doubts you can post it here in the "New to Java" forums.
    Thanks and all the best.

  • NIWeek 2013 informal study groups

    Hi all,
I am currently in Austin for training/classes/exams, and last but not least, NI Week.
I have today and tomorrow (Friday 8/2 and Saturday 8/3) available for studies/professional development and I was wondering if anyone is in the area and would like to meet up at a Panera/starbucks/similar for some informal discussions, preferrably related to preparing for the architect exam, please let me know (reply or PM).
    Thanks,

    QFang
    CLD LabVIEW 7.1 to 2013

We had this problem with our recent migration of c. 350 response groups, many of which had formal agent groups. The cause appears to be that after the migration, the formal agent registration screen sees both the 'old' and the 'new' formal agent groups of
which the current user is a member and resolves these to only one entry on the registration screen (which is understandable). But the entry seems to be connected to the 'old' and not the 'new' agent group. We were able to verify this by checking in the old
and new pool database (rgsdyn) and seeing that even after the migration the formal agents were signing in to the old pool and not the new one. One solution is to delete the members from the old formal agent groups so that future registrations are forced to
take place  in the new pool database. However, if you do this, bear in mind that if you have to back out the migration, you have to restore these.
We were also had to abandon one migration attempt because of another problem where the migration tool does not support the migration of agents who are defined indirectly in the agent group through a mail distribution group.

  • OCA exam study

This question is for anyone who has taken or is in the process of taking the OCA exam.
When studying for the exam would you recommend the Practice test CD from Self Test Software? Are there any other recommendations as far as practice for the exam?

  • 642-691 BGP+MPLS exam study

I am going to be studying for the 642-691 BGP+MPLS exam next year and am not sure what publications to buy to use as study material. All the Cisco Press books seem to be a few years old so am not sure if they will have the information needed to pass the exam. I have recently passed the cisco QOS exam and willl also be looking at taking the Route exam and have managed to find a book from 2010 for this. Also are there any cbt nuggets that I can get hold of for the BGP and MPLS to help me study ?
Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Renne

    Hi,
I recently cleared BGP+MPLS exam. I used following books and videos.
    BGP:
    1. Jeff Doyle ( I think Vol.2) first 3 chapters. Few of my friends recommended BGP Student guide as well but I didnt go thro that book as JD gave me enough strength to crack the exam.
    2. CBT Nuggets CCIE video series.
Strategy: If you are the first time learner of BGP, First watch the video and then read the book. This will give you some better understanding is what I feel. Have GNS3 aside and try each and every topology mentioned in the book and sail along with Jeff. I am sure you will have a very good grip on BGP this way.
    3. Watch videos of train signal. Chrish Bryant gives much more indepth details of the protocol and explain every field in show command.
    MPLS:
Sybex MPLS CCIP Book for initial study and move on to MPLS Fundamentals by Luc. Not all chapters might be useful but you can easily pick up chapters for exam and keep reading.
Videos: I had some experience working on MPLS areas so I didnt bother much on which videos to watch but I feel train signal and CBT Nuggets do have some videos on this one which will be good as like other series from them.
