Example for SCM-Forms Integration

Hello Everrone
I have been asked by my boss to use Oracle SCM and load all our 20 forms applications inside repository, I have read the PDF "Using Oracle9i SCM for Software Configuration Management" and managed to demo the check in and check ot scenario but when finalizing and documenting the process for my other team members, i found out that the repository manager have to create a shared workarea and each user will create a private workarea based on that shared workarea, I can not create a shared workarea, whenever i create a new workarea it get stored under the private workarea section.
so my question is ... how to create a shared workarea? and if anybody can guide me what is guide or tutorial that i should look for the have the best practices using Oracle SCM with forms.

Oracle Repository provides a Workarea Wizard - a predefined set of screen forms that take you step by step through the process of workarea creation. When you create a workarea, it is initially a private workarea, meaning that only you can access it. Subsequently you can, if you wish, grant one or more other users access to it, thus making it a shared workarea. If you later revoke access to the workarea from all other users, the workarea becomes private again. Note that the repository owner must have assigned you the Workareas repository privilege before you can create workareas.

What i are trying is;
I want to develop generic interfaces using Oracle API; which will help us in sending the RFID related data to WMS and then to EBS.
My input will be xml or flat files, i'll parse that; get the data and want to send this RFID data to WMS and from WMS to EBS..
If you have any sample examples/ docs / code etc , pls send me same..

Help needed (New to Interactive form Integration for PDF)

I am new to this intractive form integration.
I just want to know from where i can get the basic infomration about my current setup that i have and if there is a need to upgrade then from where i can get the installables.
1 How can i see my current installation is running on which support pack?
2 Where i can get the Adobe life cycle disigner I mean it comes with some NWS version or you have to buy seperately if so then from where and what does it cost
3 From where i can get the Installable to install the ACF on my machine ? Is it also cost something or freely available.

1. With your Java stack running, call the Engine homepage at http://<server>:<port>/index.html, and click on System Information. (You can also go there directly: http://<server>:<port>/sap/monitoring/SystemInfo.)
The information is on the top right under Software Components. You can also use the link All components to get more details, i.e. the ADS version.
2. Go to the SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/download and search for 'Designer'. Choose version 7.1 if you're higher than NW 2004s SPS5, otherwise take 7.0.
3. All ACF information is in SAP Note 766191.

SCM - ERP Integration

Hello,
we have the following scenario:
- ECC 6.0
- SCM 5.0
- XI 7.0
We are designing application architecture. We are defining integration between SCM (former APO) and ECC.
For every integration <b>based on ALE</b> we are thinking of using XI as integration middleware (es. Master Data transfer between ECC and APO).
Does anyone have any esperience on this?

How do I create a submit button for my form? I would like it to send the completed PDF to an email address

Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded to Adobe XI and I can't find a "submit by email" button for my form. I created a button and tried to set up some actions but, I can only get the button to direct the user to a URL. How do I make it send the completed PDF to our designated company email address? I'm not too familiar with JAVASCRIPTS so I haven't tried that plus I heard it may not work with users with adobe reader.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the input. I think you might have a different version of LiveCycle than the copy I have since it looks a little different. However, I found the answer in Adobe help. I had to type "mailto:" before the email address to indicate it's an email and not a URL. See below.
To collect form data as attachments to email, type mailto: followed by the email address. For example, mailto:[email protected]

Problem in submit button on adobe form integrated with web dynpro

Hello,
I'm facing prob in triggering web dynpro event onSubmit for Interactive form.
I've created a submit button from web dynpro activex pallete on adobe form (integrated with web dynpro) to send the form as email.
Then in the web dynpro view where this form is embedded i have created an action against onSubmit event and called a method within this.
However, on clicking Submit button this event is not getting triggered.
Please let me know what is lacking in this process?

I am also facing the same problem. i have developed a simple scenario under which user have to input his/her details and on submit button it will be updated to database.
I have tried the above solution but after adopting this solution all the editable fields become non-editable.
so the above solution is not working for me could you help me out.

When you create the Adobe Form from WebDynpro, you need to follow one step in SFP Transaction or inSE80 transaction. Open the Adobe Form in any one the transaction and now in SAP menu bar "Utilities" in that you will find the "INSERT THE WEBDYNPRO SCRIPT" just click on that one. Then you will see a new Script Object is being created with the name "ContainerFoundation_JS" under the "Variables" in the Heirarchy of the Object Pallete of the Adobe Form.
This step is mandatory to use the SUBMIT Button of the "WebDynpro Native", to trigger the OnSubmit event of the WebDynpro.

Is there a way for a form to automatically populate an email address

My form has an email link. Selecting the link opens an email window (in my case, apple mail) with address already populated. But as far as I know, the form isn't attached. If I go go to file>attach to an email, I get an email with file attached. I need to be able to select the link and have an email open with the address AND file as attachment. When I created the form, Acrobat automatically made the email a live link. Thanks in advance for your help.

It's an application only windows computers use that can create XFA (XML Based) PDF's they can have active content. Forms Like Government Forms, example IRS Tax Forms are all created with LiveCycle Designer.
And if you want to put them up on a Server you are required to use Adobe's LiveCycle Server. You must have a Fortune 250 or 500 company budget to afford using it. Cost in the thousands of dollars per month to serve the form on that server. But you can use the forms individually like regular PDF.

Is there a way for a form user to load graphics and text in same field?

I am aware that you can load text into a text field and graphics into an image field. However, I would like to load a document containing text and graphics (e.g., MS Word or RTF) into a single field on a PDF form. Is there any way to do this?

I believe that the example of attaching a file that you have provided will solve the problem. I am using LiveCycle Designer, so using the code that is in your example should be no problem. The end-user will use Adobe Reader, so as you mentioned, I will use Acrobat to extend the features so that the form can be used by Reader.

It is part of the PDF AcroForm side of things .....Are you using Reader or Acrobat to fill the form. If Reader then you will have to Reader Extend to make this work ....if Acrobat then you simply need to add some code. I have attached a sample that shows you how to do it if you want it.

Adobe Form integration from java webdynpro to ABAP webdynpros

Developed an Interactive Forms in Web Dynpro for Java. I am trying to find a way to integrate this into ABAP webdynpros. Is it possible to do this. I found this article and it looks like it supports this.
Before the introduction of the XML-based interface, an ABAP Dictionary-based interface was created for a form during integration of the same. Such an interface, however, was not easily linked to the context of a Web Dynpro component. All the forms created from within the Web Dynpro context are not automatically equipped with an XML-based interface. In certain situations, however, it can be necessary to integrate an old form with a function module-based interface into a Web Dynpro application. The Web Dynpro runtime makes it possible, in principle, to display or print such a form within a Web Dynpro
application. In special cases, it is even possible to integrate a form of this type in an interactive mode

Not sure if you mean converting an Interactive form built for WD JAVA into a WD ABAP application
or just using Interactive forms in general with WD ABAP - certainly this it is possible to use Interactive
Forms in general with WD ABAP as HCM Processes and Forms is WD ABAP based and uses Adobe interactive forms

Hi,
Just before few weeks we did this task.
Say for example if you want to print PO details through ADOBE form instead of normal sapscript layout or standard MEDRUCK, you can follow the following steps.
1. Design the form in SFP tcode, by passing the necessary inputs through form interface.
2. Then use tcode tcode NACE and select EF as application and click output types button on the application tool bar. Select NEU output type and double click processing routines on left side.
3. Then, in the right side of the screen we can see the calling program and the form (may be sapscript or smartform) whatever used.
4. For form names we have two options in NACE tcode.
One is Form and the otherone is PDF/Smartform Form. If you are using adobe form give your form name under PDF/Smartform and also select PDF under the type option in the same screen.
This worked perfectly for us. But pass the required parameters to the form from the routine used in standard program.

Spry validation problem for long forms

I used the Spry Validation Widgets for my form validation. It
works great, BUT the problem is that if you have a very long form
and the user doesn’t fill in one of the top required fields,
it doesn’t scroll the browser back up to the required field,
or present a message next to the submit button telling the person
that not all required fields have been filled in. Nothing appears
to happen at all, which would be confusing to users. I added my own
message underneath the Submit button which reads "If this form does
not submit, check for required entries at the top of this page.*",
but is there a way to add an extra popup message that could appear
next to the Submit button instead? (I know that we can't mix the
Validate Form behavior with the Spry Validation widgets.)

Came across the same issue as well. To solve this I added in
three lines of code into the 'SpryValidationTextField.js' file that
is created via DW. Inside of that include look for the following
code:

Right before you return the "isValid" parameter you want to
check and see if the value is false. If it is, have the page
refreshed to a specific html anchor. For example:

Where "formtop" is would be the name of your html anchor tag
on the page. So right before my html form starts I have:
<a name="formtop"></a>
