Can you check Note 1010935 - Can you increase the number of rows for an export file?
Symptom
Is it possible to increase the maximum number of rows used in an export?
Solution
Yes, it is possible to increase the maximum row limit used in an export.
For hosted customers, please contact Support who will be able to change this on your behalf.
For On Premise customers, you need to log into the application using the "system" login.  The property can be found by going to the following:
Setup / System Setup / Configuration / select System Properties from the drop down list and find the property system.ResultSet.maxNumberRowsExported
The description on this property is as follows:
Maximum number of rows in a query result set which may be exported to PDF, Excel, or CSV before the operation is prohibited. This is also used to limit the size of a result set being produced by a scheduled report task.
Please note that Excel also has some limitations on the maximum number of rows, therefore you may still experience a limit to 65K (which was the Excel Limit in Excel97 - Excel 2003). Therefore if you export to excel and your limit is higher than 65K, you will still only see 65K of records. The reason for this is that the open source Apache POI that is used to do the export has not been updated to support Excel 2007 which has a higher limit

  • Excel 2007 - Files will not open from outside of Excel 2007

    Hello,
I'm a new user of Xcelsius 2008, in fact I just had it installed yesterday.  The issue I've come across ever since the install, is when I attempt to open an Excel 2007 file from My Documents window (i.e Windows Explorer) a new instance of Excel will open, churn for a few seconds and then nothing...the file doesn't open nor is there a new workbook, all I see is a blank Excel screen.
I am however, able to click on Open within Excel, navigate to the appropriate location and open the file that way.
A couple notes: a) yesterday I also had Business Objects XI 3.1 installed yesterday, one of the options is "Enable Office Add-ins" I've tried to open files through Explorer with and without this enabled.  b) When I try to open a file with Explorer, at the bottom of Excel I see: "Opening:EUROTOOL.XLAM" for a brief moment, and again, all I'm left with is a new instance of a blank Excel screen.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!
    Chase K.

    Hi Chase
    Welcome to the forum!
Well its the newbie gotcha!  The behavior is caused by Live Office compatibility mode.  Go to File - Preferences - Excel Behavior and turn it off, disable it,  uncheck it!  Exit Xcelsius and restart.
You'll probably never have to use internal LO mode since the recommended workflow if you're using LO is to do it outside of Xcelsius anyway.
I know its hard to read all the info when you get a new product. But the initial LO compatibility screen you clicked through does warn about this.
And don't forget to update to the latest FP2, it'll save you posting about issues that have already been fixed.

  • Can't send Excel 2007 File via Send To Email Option after Acrobat Install

Normally, you can send an Excel 2007 file via email to someone by going to the Send option on the Excel file menu and choosing "Email." This will email an actual copy of the Excel 2007 file. However, since installing Adobe Acrobat  9 pro on my computer, this option, as well as the option to send to XPS are gone -- the only email option I have on that menu is to convert the file to a PDF and email it.
It seems to me that Acrobat should ADD options to menus but not remove any! Does anyone know how I can get those missing options (especially the one to email the actual file itself) back? I've tried Googling up a solution, but to no avail so far.
Thanks, in advance, for any help!
    Laura

Thanks for taking the time to respond, Aditya!
I saw that MS support article when I was trying to solve this issue on my own, but the solutions it proposes won't work for me -- I can't set Outlook as my email client (this is a work computer and we use Lotus Notes) and I can't muck around in the registry (again, this is a work computer). I know I can attach the Excel via the attach command in the email client, but the main thing is I don't understand why Acrobat has removed that option from the Excel menu. Also, it removed the Send to XPS option (which I don't really care about, but it bothers me because it shouldn't be deleting anything)!
I even tried adding the Email command to the Quick Access Toolbar in Excel -- it let me add the button, but, when I click it, absolutely nothing happens.

  • Accessing Excel 2007-file from BO Explorer App

    Hello all,
I have a problem when trying to access excel 2007-files in an InfoSpace ( XI 3.1 SP2) from the iPad with the BO Explorer App.
Accessing this file from the Browser is no problem and accessing the same file saved as excel 2003 is also no problem from the IPad.
Anybody an idea what could be the problem? I have to save some files with excel 2007 because number of rows.
    Thanks in advance!
    Regards,
    Christian
Additional hint: Always the following error message appears:
It is not possible to retrieve the facets within the Explore tab.
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException:Character reference "&#26" is an invalid XML character.
    Any idea? Thanks!

I do now see that you are correct: there is a difference between Excel 2007 and Excel 2010. Your particular usage is somewhat unusual and there probably isn't anything you can do, except to recognise that you are a beneficiary
of it (although others may be less fortunate).
The type of protection that you are applying protects the workbook against certain types of change; it does not prevent people opening it, and they do not need a password to open it, so, in a sense, it does not need to be
encrypted. In Excel 2007 (and Excel 2003 before it), the workbook was, nonetheless, encrypted, and in Excel 2010 it isn't.
This change means that someone can remove the protection outside Excel (just by deleting that single line of XML), something that couldn't be done before so it is a loss of security.
I'm a Word person, rather than Excel, and I don't know all the details of the different types of 'protection' that can be applied to Workbooks and Sheets.
I have, however, not seen anything about this before and will ask some Excel friends if they know anything. Beyond that I don't think I can help any more.
    Enjoy,
    Tony

  • Opening MS Excel 2007 files + Spotlight

    Hey all,
    A couple of quick questions.
    1. Is there any way to open MS Excel 2007 files? I tried Neooffice and an XML converter (which I now understand can convert only .docx and .pptx files?)
    2. Is there a spotlight widget? So I can run spotlight whilst pulling up my dashboard?
    Please let me know!
    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers,
    Mustan

    Some quick answers:
    1. No. (Unless you count MS Excel 2007 on Windows.) MS is "working on it."
    2. Not that I know of. But I could be wrong.

  • How to make restoration of corrupted excel 2007 file?

    Hi there,
When I open an excel file the following error message is displayed: “The file may be corrupted, located on a server that is not responding, or read only”.
Since this happened whenever I open any excel file, the above error message is again displayed, I must also mention that I am sure my files are not read-only and the files are stored on my hard disk and I use VM ware and my OS is windows server!
How can I solve this problem?

You may copy the file to another computer with Excel installed, and open it. If the error still exist, then your file is corrupt. Otherwise, there may be some problems with your Excel in the original computer and you need to uninstall/reinstall Excel.
If the file is corrupt, then you can try several methods to recover it:
    1. First of all, you can try to repair the file manually in Excel, as follows:
    (1) On the File menu, click Open.
     (2) In the Open dialog box, select the file you want to open, and click the arrow next to the Open button.
     (3) Click Open and Repair, and then choose which method you want to use to recover your workbook.
You may find more information about this at:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...001034656.aspx (for Excel 2003)
     http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...017.aspx?CTT=1 (for Excel 2007)
     http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...840.aspx?CTT=1 (for Excel 2010)
     http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...554.aspx?CTT=1 (for Excel 2013)
    2. If method 1 fails, there are still several methods to recover your Excel file manually with Excel, including writing a small VBA macro, as below
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...#_Toc337637262
    3. Third, there are also free tools from third-parties that can open and read Microsoft Excel files, for example,
3.1 OpenOffice at http://www.openoffice.org. This is a very famous open source project that is designed to support Office file formats, including Excel files. The software can run under Windows.
    3.2 KingSoft Spreadsheets at
http://www.kingsoftstore.com/office/free-excel. This is a free Windows tool that can open Excel files.
3.3 Google Drive at https://drive.google.com/ also support to load Excel files.
Sometimes when Excel fails to open your file, these tools may be able to open it successfully. If that is the case, then after the Excel file is opened, you can just save it as a new file which will be error-free.
    4. For xlsx files, they are actually a group of files compressed in Zip file format. Therefore, sometimes, if the corruption is only caused by the Zip file, then you can use Zip repair tools such as WinRAR at
http://www.rarlab.com to repair the file, as follows:
4.1 Assuming the corrupt Excel file is a.xlsx, then you need to rename it to a.zip
4.2 Start WinRAR, go to "Tools > Repair Archive" to repair a.zip and generated a fixed file a_fixed.zip.
    4.3 Rename a_fixed.zip back to a_fixed.xlsx
4.4 Using Excel to open a_fixed.xlsx.
There may still be some warnings when opening the fixed file in Excel, just let ignore it and Excel will try to open and repair the fixed file. If the file can be opened successfully, then you can just save the contents into another error-free file.
    5. If all above methods do not work, then you may try third-party tools such as DataNumen Excel Repair at
    http://www.datanumen.com/excel-repair/
I have used it to recover some Excel files successfully. It provides a free demo version so that you can try to see if the data you want can be recovered or not.
    Good luck!

  • Photos not showing up when I make PDFs from Excel 2007 files

I make lists for my newspaper. I am working from home today where I use Excel 2007 and Adobe Acrobat Pro 9. I had to tweak my home Adobe settings to mimic ones I use at work for our newspaper's printer, but other than that, I am doing what I normally do to my files. At work I have Excel 2003 and Adobe 8. I am not sure if it is pro or standard. I use Windows in both locations.
When I go to make the PDF on my home comp, the photos do not show up on the PDF. They print fine from the Excel file. Does anyone have an idea why this might be happening? Thanks!

A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

  • Excel 2007: file opened by another user

Hi guys. Help me to hunt down a question.
Then I am trying to open or save a spreadsheet in excel 2007 it always shows me a downloading status bar without any progress. After few minutes the file opens or not. Game of chance. When it didn`t open I get this error message "file
    opened by another user".
I should notice that I have windows 7, office 2007. I tried to transfer some files to another pc and at first it`s working good, without any troubles, but then still the same problem. Pops up a dialog window with the message. It happens
on network files only. Of course I have tried to run excel in a save mode and in compatibility mode. But nothing change.
Give me please any clue what can it be and how can I fix it?

Try this. Excel Options, click Advanced at the left side of the dialog window. Then make sure that DDE is selected. By this you make enable the Ignore Other Applications that use Dynamic Data Exchange feature.
And also try the following:  open Tools – Folder options. In the list of the file types choose XLS. Then click the Advanced. Select Open. The Application Used to Perform Action box contains the actual command line used to start Excel.
You should add in this field a space followed by "%1". Be sure to include the quotes. And deselect Use DDE. That’s all steps you should do.
Also you can solve this issue with help of third-party program. This is good one, try it -  Recovery Toolbox for Excel
    https://excel.recoverytoolbox.com/
In principle, this is all that i can reccomend.

  • How can I get Firefox to recognize Excel 2007-2010 XLSX file extension?

There is an Applications setting (under Tools/Options) for Excel 97-2003 Worksheet file extension. How can I add another setting for newer Excel file extension XLSX?

Check the URL that doesn't work.
''If it is an http:// URL:''
When a web server sends Firefox a file, it includes a content-type header. This is what Firefox uses to determine how to handle the file, not the file extension. The server might be sending a generic download type such as "application/octet-stream" which you cannot assign to any one application. That's just a guess because I don't use that software.
''If it is an st:// URL:''
Firefox will check the Windows registry for novel protocols. This article has more information: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol

  • Can not open multiple excel 2003 and excel 2007 files in excel 2010 - message says they may be a security risk and wants to do a scan

We use about 20 excel files to build a consolidated financial statement for our company.  Some of the files were built when  the computers were running 2003 and some when we had 2007.  We are being upgraded to Windows 7 with Office 2010.  In
2007, we would simply highlight all the files in a folder, right click, and open.  Once they had all refreshed for new data, we would close them all.  Now with Excel 2010, we've highlighted all the files, but when we right click, we get a message
that says some files may present an internet security risk.  Then it ask if we want to open anyway.  If we say yes, we get a box that asks us to scan the files.  We've done a scan, but at the end it still doesn't open the files.  If we
say no, it does nothing.  Either way, we're not getting the files open except to open them 1 by 1.  We're not sure how to get rid of this...any suggestions?

In Excel 2010 setting those documents as trusted documents, or adding the folder containing as a trusted location may do the trick for you. There's a full description of what it does here
http://blogs.technet.com/b/office2010/archive/2009/09/28/trusted-documents.aspx but if you go into File, Options, Trust Center, Trust Center Settings..., and then Trusted Locations, you'll see the list of currently configured file paths that are considered
    trusted on your machine.
At the bottom of that window you can check the option to allow trusted locations on the network (so you can trust the files that I assume are stored on a network location) and then add the location of those files to the list.
Note, this setting is done per machine profile, so if it does the trick for you then each person needing these files would need to do this. Also, keep in mind that by doing this you're removing some of the protections added into Excel, so you should only
go adding locations you know you can trust (not just the root of a network path where anyone and everyone might go saving spreadsheets they've downloaded form the internet).

  • Microsoft Office 2010 Professional - Problem - Will Not Auto-Open Downloaded Excel 2007 file!

Problem, see title.  If I save excel file and go Microsoft Office 2010 Pro and open file after opening excel it will open file but it will not open when downloaded as I did before I let windows process 51 updates to windows (new computer).  The
error message I get is, "file is not a valid Win32 application".  My OS is Windows 7 Premium.

If none above methods work, then you may try third-party tools such as next software at:-
    http://www.excel.fixtoolbox.com/
Excel Fix Toolbox - Using Excel Repair Software to Recover Damaged Excel files - A Step-by-Step Guide
It supports both .xls and .xlsx file formats. I have used it to recover some Excel files successfully. It provides a free demo version so that you can try
to see if the data you want can be recovered or not.

  • Insufficient memory error when loading a large Excel 2007 file

My Tx shows approximately 110 M free memory.  I have the Documents To Go version 11 applications, as well as the 1.9 M spreadsheet on a 2Gb SD card.  when I try to load the file, I get an insufficient memory error, and the device does a soft reset when I touch OK.  I haven't tried moving the file to the device memory.  Would that help?  Is there anything else I can do to get the file to load?
    Any suggestions would be appreciated
    Post relates to: Palm TX

It means not enough dynamic memory, or the "RAM" portion of the memory. You have 110 MB of free program memory, which is where everything is stored, and is largely unrelated.
You could try buying UDMH, (palmpowerups.com) an app that expands the dynamic memory area.
A soft reset before opening the file may help too.
webosnation.com is another option for help.

  • ALSM_EXCEL_TO_INTERNAL_TABLE and Excel 2007

  • Excel 2007 (.xlsx) Import File on FDM 11.1.2

    Hi
I have taken an excel upload file (Office 2003 .xls format) that we have used in the past and loaded succesfully in FDM 9.2 and opened it in Office 2007, re-saved the file in the Office 2007 .xlsx format, attempted to load the file in FDM 11.1.2 and I receive an error. "Error: An error occurred importing the file.
Detail: No [ups] range name found in file!"
    Please note the following:
    * The 2003 .xls version of this file loads perfectly fine in FDM 9.2 and FDM 11.1.2
    * Saving the same file in 2007 .xlsx and trying to load it in 11.1.2 produces the error mentioned above
    * I have verfied that the ups named range does indeed exist in the .xlsx file I am trying to load to via FDM 11.1.2. Additionally as stated in bullet one the same file as .xls loads just fine.
Is there anything I am missing? I have looked at the readme of FDM 11.1.2 for any bugs and was not able to see anything that would prevent this load.
Thank you all in advance for your guidance.

    Hi Wayne
Thank you for your lightning fast response (as always). My apologies but I am slightly confused...am I reading this wrong but the 11.1.2 FDM Readme file http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/fdm_1112000_readme.pdf states:
    New Features
    FDM
    Additional 3rd-Party Support
FDM now supports the following 3rd-party applications:
    Windows Server 2008
    MS SQL Server 2008
    IIS 7
    Internet Explorer 8
    Windows 7 Client
    .NET 2.0 Framework SP2
Support for Excel 2007 (including xlsx file compatibility)
The last item there states support for Excel 2007 including xlsx file compatibility?
