Excel add-in Terminal Service, not connection is made

I have a problem with Excel add-in on Terminal Service. Theinstallation went all right and the add-in is found by Excel. Theproblem is when I try to connect to one of the essbase serversnothing happens. When I check the server no login attempt has beenmade, the funny thing is that when I enter a server name that doesnot exist I get an error message telling me that the servercouldn’t be found (so clearly the add-in is doing something).The versions that I’m using for the add-in is 7.1.5 andI’m trying to connect to a servers with the essbase versions7.1.5 and 7.1.2. I have installed this add-in on several desktopsand then it’s working as expected. Is this a known problem? Have anyone had this problem before? Iwould really appreciate any help I can get regarding thismatter. I should probably also tell you that I had an older version ofExcel add-in installed and working before, the version was 7.1.2.This was uninstalled before the 7.1.5 version was installed. This sounds liek an issue we have seen a number of times. When you first connect you will need write access to the essbase\ folder on the machine where Essbase add-in is installed. It writes the connection information provided to essbase.ini and this is then used the next time you log in. You should be able to narrow the write area down further, can't remember exactly where the write is required - there are other areas as well from memory. Does ASA WEBVPN support MS Terminal Services Web Connection?? I can reach the first login page but can not go further. I click the "connect" button no any response?!! All other web service running well through webvpn, only MS Terminal Services Web Connection.

This is the kind of thing that you need a sniffer trace on both sides of the CSS to determine what the problem is.

Essbase Excel Add-In 11.1.2 Connection Problem

I've installed the excel add-in 11.1.2 on my Win7 machine. When I try to connect, the dialog box opens, I can enter the hostname/user/pass and it will give me a list of apps/dbs. I select the one I want and it hangs and eventually returns a Network Error. Any idea what gives? It's connecting at first, but then tells me it can't connect. Thoughts?

In case anyone else runs into something similar, the issue was with the server port settings. If you see something like this, look at the ports.

Excel Add-in: File is not recognizable format

One of our peoplesoft applications uses the excel essbase add-in(version 5.0.2.7). In a particular department all of the workstations receive an error (file is not a recognizable format) when loading the essbase add-in. These are Windows 2000/Office 2000 pc's, c:\essbase\bin is in the path and at the front and the arborpath environment variable is defined(c:\essbase). Its obvious its something particular to there image, any suggestions would be appreciated.Thanks,Paul

Thank you for posting your solution. I have upgraded my computer to XP and got the unrecognizible format error after installing the excel add-in. After reading your message, I verified that I had a dll conflict. I corrected the dll and now I've been able to install the excel add-in without errors.

Add IP to EDK not connected a Bus

i repeat the design Camera Frame Buffer Demo with the EDK tool ,i add the ip (intellectual property ) with "create or import peripheral" and i use the system generator to add the ip (vsk camera vop ) but i have a problem when i want to add the ip (dvi in ,dvi out,camera) because These ip is not connected to the bus (plb ,opb..)
please any one help me to add these ip ??

You might want to see if you can interface in RTL with EDK system as sub-project in ISE.
If I have misunderstood, Please give some more details of the system.

Zen server mgmt - inventory service not connecting

installed ZENworks Desktop Management 6.5 and somehow I see ZEN works
Server management on the Console screen. I did NOT install ZEN for
servers so I don't know how or understand why I have three 'ZFS' files in
my sys/zenworks directory - these files start ZEN Server Management.
Now I can remove/rename these files so Server Management doesn't start,
but then my ZENworks Inventory Service doesn't connect to the 'XML'.
Apparently my Inventory service is pointing back to the ZEN Server
Management db????
What is the correct way to get rid of ZEN Server Management, and how do I
make sure Inventory service is connected to the correct place(db).
I also have a quick question about registration. shouldn't it happen at
every boot? And what is the correct reg that points to the server. I've
seen two things:

and
novellworkstation managerImport Server default = 222.222.222.222
which one is correct.
right now my workstation, when it registers, does so three times! It

Excel Add-In - retrieve does not function

following upgrade to v 9.3.1 many users are experiencing the following:
Following connection to database the "Retrieve" does absolutely nothing. No error message, no feedback at all.
Task manager reveals another unexplainable EXCEL execution is also present though not shown under the "Applications" tab; found only under the "Processes" tab. We refer to them as PHANTOM instances.
"End Process" of the PHANTOM EXCEL execution and the other begins to work.
Users are reporting an increase in these occurrences.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? Have an idea of cause or a means of prevention.

The official answer is that the Essbase Add-in will only work with the first instance/session of excel.
When an application error occurs, it will occasionally be hung in the process of closing, holding that instance. This is what you experienced and so when you opened a new workbook it was in a new session. That first session was doing all the work, but silently prevented you from getting the results.
In the task manager, you have to kill the first session before you open the new session and things will work. Short of creating a proxy session for everything or using a product like dodeca, there is no other answer.
I'm currently working on an update to my connection manager add-in to use a proxy session, but this is not a commercial endevour. I will likely post a subset of the code that can do this alone, once I get it beyond a beta version (note: it's not trivial, and I expect it to take quite a bit of time to make it work properly). Either way, you would have to put this "abstraction layer" between the excel sessions and the essbase add-in, so it's obviously not for everyone.

Web Services Not Connecting

Everytime I try to add web services, my printer says connection error. It used to work but I had to reboot my computer and that caused the web services to stop working. I have tried to manuel add an IP address and the DNS server number. I have tried to turn off my wifi and turn it back on. That didnt work. I have even unplugged it and tried, didnt work. My wifi connects fine to the printer and my computer. They are both on the same network. The thing is I am connected to my university's wifi. I need to print lots of stuff. I do not know what else to do.

EAS 11.1.2 Services not connecting to Essbase 11.1.2

Could you advice on what services are needed only on server2
to enable EAS 11.1.2 to connect to server1, and access Essbase data..
Here is the setup
Server1
windows server 2008 R2 x64
Eas is installed "and working when conneted to Server1"
Essabse is installed and working
and all the usual Foundation stuff is installed and working
Server2
Eas is installed only
and all the usual Foundation stuff is installed.

I am not sure why you want EAS on its own on a server but anyway you would only need "Hyperion Administration Services - Web Application" running on server 2 and it should be able to connect to essbase on a different server.

How can I add a Google account not connected to a GMail account to Messages in OSX Mountain Lion?

With iGoogle going offline soon, and being myself averse to using Google+ for social networking due to what I perceive as a blatant disregard for my privacy, I'm trying to save my few Gchat contacts, as I don't have many other ways to contact these specific people. However, I'm having trouble connecting my Gchat (or Google Talk if you prefer the term) to Messages. It doesn't recognize that my google account is tied to a verizon email address, not a gmail address, and refuses to acknowledge my password as correct (even though I typed it correctly at least five times trying).
I haven't seen anyone else having this problem, and I'd prefer to call customer support about this, but this seems to be the next best option.

iChat and Messages (and for that matter any other Jabber capable App) will not accept non Google Mail Google IDs as Google Talk IDs
When Google launched Google Talk it was only for those IDs issued under @googlemail.com or @gmail.com that were eligible.
Later they allowed other Google IDs to Chat but only from Web Browser Logins.
There was a period when they did seem to expand the non Googlemail IDs into the GoogleTalk fold for external apps to also allow access but this was dropped after a while.

Web Services not connecting to Network

I have set up and used my ENVY 114 and Web Services. Right now my printer says it cannot connect to the Network. I can use the wireless printing from my iphone, ipad, and macbooks. But when I try to ise Web Services like eFax - I get an error message saying I cannot connect to the Network. ePrint is on. I have set up a new connection to the Netowrk. The password is correct, I have passed all Network Tests with a Very Good signal strength. The blue wireless indication light is on - but still a Network error populates. What else can I do?

Terminal SSH not connecting?

Forgive me if this isn't the best place for this question, but it's mostly Greek to me. I've been able to log into my remote server using the "ssh [email protected]" command from Terminal. Within moments I get the "password" prompt and all is well.
Recently, something is choking and I have no clue where to start looking. I type the ssh command and nothing happens for a minute or two, and then there's the message "Connection closed by nn.nnn.nnn.nnn" (the IP address). Blammo.

Tried that, it asked me to establish the authenticity of the host, I said yes, it added the domain to the list of known hosts - and then nothing again. Got the "connection closed by the host" message after a minute or two.
I tried something different, and sent "ssh [email protected]" (where 'othername' is a site owned by a friend) and it promptly asked for the password (which I don't know so I logged off Terminal). Is it possible the hangup is at my host? I can access all the features of my site normally - I just can't log in via ssh via either root or ftp.

Accessing client using Windows 2008 Terminal Service - Web Access?

We are developing a network infrastructure solution for our new customer's B1 8.8 implementation.
Our customer would like to utilize Windows Server 2008 Terminal Service to connect B1 client in remote branch with server in head office area. And they want to use Terminal Service - WEB ACCESS. Base on our experience, we successfully implement B1 using Remote Desktop Connection or Citrix to support B1 client in the remote area.
My question is, Has SAP already support to utilize windows "Terminal Service - Web Access" to access B1 client?
If Yes then what are possible issues and solutions?

when we said to customer that it is better to use citrix, they will see some concerns as follows:
1. Investment to buy citrix server
2. License of citrix
3. installation time for ICA client
4. maintenance cost for citrix and its server
The benefits are as follows:
1. Reduce cost to purchase B1 license. Remote and LAN users can access B1 through citrix
2. The connection speed. Citrix is more faster than RDC or terminal services either web access or not
3. The security reason. Check this link:

The supported hosted environments are using citrix or windows terminal service. For remote users, the citrix is used for web access and windows terminal services are using IP and the connection is using internet (do not use VPN).
The citrix is not very expensive. We must make them realize the benefit.

Broadband meant to be Active but not connecting

Hello i hope someone can help.
I recently moved address and took my landline number and BT Account (inc BB) with me to my new address. This was at the beginning of September. I was told my phone would be connected on the 14th Sept with my BB being Active as of the 20th Sept. I received a text on the 20th saying my BB should now be available but it wasnt. I gave it a few days leway but still nothing.
On Friday 23rd i made a call to support who checked my landline for faults (i believe all was fine) and they advised someone from technical would call on Saturday to speak to me regarding the issue. I never received the call and we are still not connected to the internet 7 days later. Im getting absolutely nowhere with technical and for some reason they now want to send an engineer to the house even though all the lines in the house are fine.
The previous tenants also had a BT BB account which was working fine for them. They cancelled their BB in August so this shouldnt hold any bearing to this issue which tells me its something to do with the configuration at BT's end.
Here's what i have done so far to check for issues myself.
1) Reset the router to default settings
2) Checked that all laptops in the household are in the correct IP range for the router and that they can connect to the router (which they can)
3) Checked all available phone sockets in the house with both the router and the house phone, house phone works fine in all sockets but BB will not connect
4) Made sure we have microfilters in place
5) Power cycled the router daily to check for a connection, still nothing
6) Used the test connect on the router using "domain bt_test_user@startup_domain" as the username (as suggested in another post to check for activation), this did nothing which according to another user suggests were not activated yet.
The call centre operative i spoke to today wasnt much help at all, he simpy read the notes and bearly spoke to me, the customer service i received was terrible. As a result of this my son has lost a job as he was sent an email last week inviting him to an interview but couldnt receive it. Ive been paying for a service that ive not had for a month now, all in all it has caused a huge inconvenience, im having to go to a friends to make this post.

Excel Add-In Failure

I am trying to install ESS v.6.5 excel add-in but get "not recognizable file format" error when starting up excel for the first time after install. When I try to add the Essexcln.xll file manually, it gives me an "invalid add-in" error. I've already checked my environment variables path and they point to the right directories. There are no dll conflicts that I can see and I have admin rights to my computer. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

Double checked my path and everything seems correct. I've copied my path below in case I'm not seeing something.ARBORPATH - C:\HYPERION\ESSBASEPath - C:\HYPERION\ESSBASE\BIN;c:\dmi\win32\bin;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\System32\WbemRunning excel 2000 (which should work with Ess 6.5 no?)Also tried deleting the add-in and reinstalling but to no avail. Other ideas?
