Excel Compatibility checker disable in CVI

I am trying to close the excel sheet using "ExcelRpt_WorkbookClose (excelWorkbookHandle, 1);". while closing  i am geeting Excel Compactibilty checker window as shown below. I want to disable this checker window. How to disable this excel compactibility checker in CVI? i googled this and i found that it is possible to disable using VB script. The link is http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/gg132972.aspx .

How are you saving your workbook? Apparently you are using an old file format including newer functions in your file.
Not sure about it, but you may try to explicitly specify one file format while calling ExcelRpt_WorkbookSave passing the appropriate constant in  'format' parameter (ExRConst_WorkbookNormal should apply to old-style '.xls' files; constants are defined in excelreport.h file but see this page and this one for reference: you'll see that enumerated constant for '.xlsx' files should be 51, which is not listed in the include file).
Other useful questions are: which OS are you developing on? And which Excel version is installed on the development machine?
Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.

  • Microsoft Office Excel - compatibility Checker message in BPC 7.5

    Hello Experts,
We are using BPC 7.5 M with Office 2007 on Application Server, we have upgraded from BPC 5.1 with Office 2003 where Dimension were of .xls and templates & Reports were of .xlt (office 2003 format) , After upgrade we have not done any changes in Dimension, Templates, reports version and they all are in .xls (Dimension) & .xlt (templates & reports) version
We are getting a error while saving a dimension in Admin module (by clicking on "Save to Server" link):
Microsoft Office Excel - compatibility Checker
    Significant loss of functionality
Some cells have overlapping conditional formatting ranges.
Earlier version of Excel will not evaluate all of the conditional
formatting rules on the overlapping cells. The overlapping
cells will show different conditional formatting.
Do we need to convert the dimension files in 2007 format (.xlsx) or how to avoid the above told message while saving dimension file.
    Thanks,
    Rohit

    Hi Rohit Khatak,
Could you solve your problem? I'm having this issue while processing ACCOUNT dimension (and only ACCOUNT) on Development environment, and nothing was changed at the server.
Every time I try to save, I receive this compatibility error, and when I press "Continue", the file gets with a strange format. If I press the save again, it stil gives me the same error.
I already tryed to process the dimension, to Refresh Dimension Members, and the error persists.
Is there a way to solve this problem at BW side? On RSD1 maybe?
    Thanks in advance.
    Yours,

  • "Checking Compatability of Add-ons" Update window at each startup & redirects to a welcome page. Tried disabling all add-ons & updates / force compatability checker. Thoughts?

Each time I start Firefox a "Checking Compatibility of Add-ons" update window appears, which redirects me to a welcome to Firefox 5.0 page with my normal home page in another tab. I tried disabling all add-ons and updates as well as the force compatibility checker. I think my AVG safe-search bar might be causing the problem, but I have it disabled and never use it. Please help me get rid of this.

  • Every time I start Firefox 8.0.1 it repeats the add-on compatibility check

    Hi there
I'm using Vista and since updating to Firefox 8.0.1 every single time I start Firefox it repeats the add-on compatibility check.
I tried starting with add-ons disabled, deleting update files, started with different profile, nothing.
Is this a bug and we have to wait for another update or if it can be sorted I would appreciate some help please.
    Cheers

Go to Firefox/Help/Troubleshooting, and in your Profile Directory/Open Profile Folder. Close Firefox (File,Exit) and on your Profile Folder look and delete this file "Pref.js" and any other "pref" files in there. Start Firefox and your preferences are reset to default. Go to Options and customise your preferences as you had before.

  • Prevent add-on compatibility check on 1st run

i am using a predefined prefs.js file with '''updates disabled''' and '''compatibility check false''' for add-ons as well
however each time i run firefox for the first time , i see a progress update window saying: checking comparability of add-ons
its important that i do not see this at all. any inout, anything else to look into the pref.js file?
i already have extensions.checkCompatibility.3.6 set to false and updates disabled.
odd thing is when i launch FF, i see all the correct options configured, and upon relaunch this does not happen. seems its during the first time the userprofile is launched
    FF 3.6.17

    that did not work
i ended up adding user_pref("extensions.update.url", ""); to my pref.js, so now when the browser launches for the first time, i see a blank window for less than 1 sec. which was an acceptable solution..
    Thanks

  • How to re-enable FF 29 add-on compatibility check

Several weeks ago I installed FF 29.0.1 on two virtually-identical XP systems. I've been carefully maintaining extensions, settings, etc., in parallel on both systems.
Initially, my primary system told me if an extension in my search list was incompatible with 29.0.1, and presumably that's what I want to happen.
However, I recently installed a couple of extensions, that seemed to work okay. (I had downloaded the installers, and then installed them from the files.) Then, when I tried to install them from the same files on the second system, it told me that they were incompatible with 29.0.1, and that they could not be installed.
I want to re-enable the compatibility check on the system on which it seems to have been turned off. I've searched FF forums at length, but can't find any information on about:config or other settings that might affect this.

The error message I've been getting on one system when trying to install certain extensions is a small drop-down box from the green extensions manager icon near the upper left of the screen. However, it disappears when the "print screen" button is pressed, and does not appear in the captured image. I've noticed that kind of quirk on some other websites. So it seems to be impossible to get an image of the message. The message can be re-displayed, but not printed, by clicking on the green icon. However, the text of the message says, "<extension-name> could not be installed because it is not compatible with Firefox 29.0.1." Note: It is easy to reproduce this message by temporarily turning on extensions.strictCompatibility, and trying to install some older extensions.
In any event, the system on which I was getting the message is now behaving identically to my other system, apparently without any settings changes. Therefore, I feel that it was a persistent, but temporary, glitch that may have been fixed by a reboot. Therefore, the problem seems to be resolved.

  • Compatibility check - ECC 5.0 - CRM2007

    Greetings All and HAPPY FRIDAY!
in regards to compatibility check- basically I'm trying to determine that the CRM6.0 and ECC 5.0 are on compatible support packs, version, etc.
For example, like what levels we need to be on in ECC5.0 for CRM 2007 (ie. PI, PI_BASIS in the ecc5.0 box its 2006_1_640 in crm 2006_1_700
    , etc)
I was trying to use the SAP matrix page service.sap.com/pam to show us the compatibility matches like what levels we need to be on in ecc5 for crm
but I get no info there...
Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated

    Hello,
If you want to know the compatibility regarding CRM2007, please refer to the SAP CRM2007 Master guide. You can download this document from the following link:

  • Installer 2011DS1: hand crafted disk labels for compatibility checks?

I have a problem with the installer of Labview 2011 DS1in combination with Vision. I want to create an installer for an application that uses vision and therefore selected the additional installers "NI Vision Common Resources 2010 SP1" and "NI Vision Run-Time Engine 2010 SP1". The assistant then asks for the disk "NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 - DVD 2". When I insert that disk the assistant complains
"The disk you have provided is a different version of the requested disk.
Disk Requested: NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 - DVD 2
Disk Provided: NI Developer Suite 2011 DS1 DVD 2
It seems, a litte missing hyphen in the disk name prevents me from deploying my application. You could argue to simply choose another DVD containing the run time engine. This leads to an overwhelming list of disk alternatives one has to manually click through in order to find another variant of the installer. The assistant knows what installer is missing and obviously knows whether the selected disks contain this installer but it is unable to filter the list to show applicable alternatives only.
After a lot of clicks, I found another disk containing the vision runtime. It is "NI Vision Developer Module 2010 SP 1" and when I insert a DVD that is labelled exacly the same, the assistant complains:
"The disk you have provided is a valid installer, but it does not match the disk requested.
Disk Requested: NI Vision Developer Module 2010 SP 1
    Disk Provided: VDM2010SP1DVD
There is an alternative Disk that seems to have the same label as my DVD and so I selected "VDM2010SP1DVD", click "Yes" and of course get the error message I have attached. After that message, nothing else happens. At least no installer for my application is created.
Is there any way to create an installer with Labview 2011 SP1? Could you please refrain from using obviously hand crafted disk labels for compatibility checks?
    With best regards

I copied the VDM DVD to my hard drive and it came up on the list of alternative choices. Selected that folder and it finally completed the installer.

  • Iphone video file compatibility checker?

I have a bunch of video files in mp4 and m4v in a folder. Some copy to my iphone when added to my itunes library, others don't with the error FILE CAN NOT BE PLAYED ON THIS IPHONE. Usually the format for non compatible iphone video files was created for appletv device , but its hard to tell which files will play on the iphone, quick and easily. I was wondering if there was a simple iphone video compatibility checker. Like looking at video files listed in a folder directory, where it displays whether or not a video file is iphone compatible?
If no such file checker exists, it sure would be nice to have such a file checker to look at a batch or folder of files at one time, and easily check iphone compatibility. (hint hint programmers)

It appears to me that the only reason cpu speed, would impact play back is that iTunes has designed this effect into the files.
No, they didn't, at least not as part of some sort of deliberate effort to get you to upgrade. Videos and movies from the iTunes Store are encoded with the new H.264 codec. This codec can yield much better quality at a lower file size than can other video codecs such as the most common MPEG-2, but decoding H.264 takes more processing power. Hence the minimum CPU requirement; it just takes that fast a system to decode the content smoothly. In some cases with a system with close specs, you may be able to get adequate playback if all other applications and processes are shut down (as with iTunes vs. QuickTime; iTunes takes up a bit more of the processor for it's other functions), but it's always going to be iffy if you're right at the edge of the system requirements.
You're going to see this sort of thing on any computer system; better quality video requires higher-power systems, no matter what platform you're running on (Windows Media Player recommends 1.5Ghz).

  • VSTO-Excel-Application: Check for available new version prior to launch

Although VSTO doesn't provide anything for checking for a new available application-version (VSTO Excel-Document-Level-Customization)
prior to launching the app (but this check outside the VSTO-Application itself obviously isn't possible) I would like to know if there is a better way to handle this whole procedure.
I'm using a .Net-Application which launches Excel first, checks if all environment-parameters are ok and if so, then it eventually launches the VSTO-Application. While performing the VSTO-launch I check for an available update  - if so, the Workbook
will be closed, the update will be executed silently and the VSTO-Application will be restarted. It works, but it is quite complicated and this method is not really nice.
So my question is: Is there a possibility to perfom the VSTO-Update from the Startup-Application without initially launching the VSTO-Application and so avoiding the launch of the VSTO-Application just to check if there's an available update.

    Hello,
Based on your description, it seems that you want the add-in check updates before the add-in loaded.
    Right?
If so, you could select Check every time the
customization runs, and that should solve your issue, because it will check updates before the add-in loaded.
You could refer to the loading process from
    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/zcfbd2sk.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396, sepcially the step 6.
The following steps occur when a user opens a document that is part of a Microsoft Office solution.
The Microsoft Office application checks the custom document properties to see whether there are managed code extensions associated with the document. For more information, see
    Custom Document Properties Overview.
If there are managed code extensions, the application loads VSTOEE.dll, which loads VSTOLoader.dll. These are unmanaged DLLs that are the loader components for the Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime. For more information, see
Visual Studio Tools for Office Runtime Overview.
VSTOLoader.dll loads the .NET Framework and starts the managed portion of the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime.
If the document is opened from a location other than the local computer, the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime verifies that the location of the document is in the
Trusted Locations list in the Trust Center Settings for that particular Office application. If the document location is not in a trusted location, the customization is not trusted, and the load process stops here.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime installs the solution if it has not been installed yet, downloads the most recent application and deployment manifests, and performs a series of security checks. For more information, see
    Securing Office Solutions.
If the customization is trusted to run, the Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime uses the deployment manifest and application manifest to check for assembly updates. If a new version of the
assembly is available, the runtime downloads the new version of the assembly to the ClickOnce cache on the client computer. For more information, see
    Deploying an Office Solution.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime creates a new application domain in which to load the customization assembly.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime loads the customization assembly into the application domain.
The Visual Studio Tools for Office runtime calls the Startup event handler in your customization assembly. For more information, see
    Events in Office Projects
If that is not the one fits your requirement, then I am afraid that it is impossible to get update before the add-in loads, because we could call
ClickOnce Api but there is no such event to call that api.

  • Compatibility Checker

    Hi,
I downloaded the Aperature 2.0 Compatibility Checker, it's saved to my desktop but I can't delete it. When I open it and try deleting it, it says I don't have sufficient permissions to delete? Any help?
    Thanks!
    Scott

    Hmmm...
Okay then, you can do it with terminal
    Open terminal (in Applications/Utilities)
    Type
    sudo rm -rf
And then drag the Aperture compatibility checker application to the terminal window. It should auto complete the line by adding something like "~/Desktop/Aperture Compatiblity Checker.app"
Hit return, and enter your password, and it should be gone.
