(Open in the browser) I get a SharePoint Error ‘an unexpected error has occurred ’
If I change in advanced setting to Open in the client application it works fine
What do I need to do In order to have the file open in the default browser?

Excel Services/Excel Web App does not support password protected Excel sheets. Your only option is to open in Excel client.

I use SharePoint 2010 to access my documents library. When I open an Excel spreadsheet and do some changes, save the changes and everything seems to be fine. I close the Excel file and open it again. Surprise! my changes are gone and even though I did this
many times, I got the same result.
There is no versioning and not check out requirement in the Library settings. I do use IE v9.
I'll appreciate any help.

This forum is for Team Foundation Server, I'd like to know whether you use TFS and if you have tried on other files. If you don't use TFS, you can open a new thread in SharePoint forum for a better response.
If you have TFS integrate with SharePoint, then you can use a newer version of IE to have a try, or check on other machines. Also confirm whether your account has the permission to edit the file. Elaborate more details about your scenario if the problem
persists.

Checkout files not opening in SharePoint 2010 sites?

In library, after clicked on Checkout file option, the file is showing green arrow that means file is in checked out mode but when clicked to that file to open for modification the file is not opening.
And without checked out if try to open the file it gives two options Read only or Edit and but when clicked on Edit option the file is not opening.
There are few users facing above issue.
Please tell me what I should do.

I need to Download an Excel with Password Protected. User should be in a position to read the data without entering the password. If he wants to change the data then the file should prompt for a password. Currently I am using the below mentioned code but the file is asking for password even to view the data.
Code :

I commented the code as you suggested, but still its not working. It asks for the password to just read the file.
Please help me on this.

Can you download the attachment to local and open it? Does other types of attachment have this issue?
Please check the following settings:
Go to File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings -> Attachment Handling -> Make sure "Turn off attachment Preview" is not selected -> Click "Attachment and Document Previewers" button -> Make sure "Microsoft
Excel previewer" is selected -> OK -> OK -> OK.

Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 will not open MS Outlook 2010

I have recently updated my OS to Windows 7. Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5 will not open MS Outlook 2010 with the preformatted email message after submitting via the Email Invitations button. MS Internet Explorer 8.0 goes to a blank page. Is there a compatibility issue with Acrobat Connect Pro 7.5, MS Outlook 2010, and/or Windows 7?

You were running a non-Intel version on an Intel Mac. You might not have run into problems before but it was only a matter of time. You cannot run an old version and then install brand new versions of ProKit and QuickTime - it will just break.

If you get this error in firefox you just have to install java plugin.

Excel Sheet (password protected) is not opening

An important Excel document that is password protected keeps causing Excel to shut down after I enter the password. I tried opening with NEO OFFICE but since it's password protected, NEO won't open it. How do I turn off the password in Excel so NEO can open it? I assume thew file has become corrupt.

Excel Services Refresh method not working in Sharepoint 2013

In our application, we open excel services workbook in sharepoint 2013. Using sessionid of the workbook, we called Refresh and CalculateWorkbook methods in that order. After Calculateworkbook method, I see time stamps in LastUpdatedTime for each connection
in 'Connections' tab of excel workbook. When Refresh method is called again after CalculateWorkbook method, the LastUpdatedTime for the connections becomes blank.
When I use sharepoint 2010, the temstamp is not becoming blank after refresh.
I think due to this reason we see blank data on our reports. Can somebody tell whether there is a problem with Refresh method in sharepoint 2013? Or is there somebody facing problem with excel services in sharepoint 2013? Any pointers can help.

For your issue, verify if Excel files are rendered by Office Web Apps:
When Office Web Apps is responsible for the rendering the URL will look something like this:
https://server/_layouts/15/WopiFrame.aspx?sourcedoc=/Documents/excel.xlsx&….
And when Excel Calc is rendering the document it should look like the following:
https://server/_layouts/15/xlviewer.aspx?id=/Documents/excel.xlsx&…

Convert Excel into Password Protected PDF Files

I believe you are the Adobe Forums administrators so I thought you guys are the right people to approach.
OTHERS ARE ALSO INVITED TO COMMENT ON THIS TOPIC.
I have C# desktop app which generates Excel files and our goal is to convert these excel files one at a time into password protected PDF files. We use a 3rd party software currently, but I am challenging myself into saying that I can use Adobe Acrobat 9.0 SDK to achieve what is required .
I have downloaded Acrobat 9.0 SDK and also have Adobe Professional 8.0(trail) in my development machine. Can you firstly tell me if this is possible and secondly what would be required on the client machines to run it?

"Encrypt with Password" is the policy name, not the policy id.
Did you try enumerating the policy object to see how to set it up? I ran this from the console to get the policy details:
var policy = security.chooseSecurityPolicy();
for ( var i in policy )
console.println(i + ": " + eval("policy." + i));
That will pop up your list of policies. Choose "Encrypt with Password" and hit Apply, which returned the following:
policyId: SP_STD_default
name: Encrypt with Password
description: This policy will allow you to set an open or modify password on a document.
handler: Adobe.Standard
target: document
Of course, all you really need are the policyId, handler and target. Make sure you read and thoroughly understand the security requirements documented in the API reference for this method as well.

Excel sheet - password protection

Hi,
we have a requirement that we want to set 'read' password on excel sheet through java program. Any body who wants to see the content should provide password to open the excel file.
We looked at open sources such as JExcel, POI. Looks like, they are not providing 'read' passpord protection feature. JExcel supports write password but does not support 'read' password.
Did anybody face this kinda requirement? any suggestions? Is there any other solution ?

I have set a password protection for my personal journal. I need to enter the password when opening it in Pages 09 HOWEVER if i search for my journal through spotlight or the finder, it opens the journal without entering the password. This means anyone has access to my journal by searching for it.Why is this happening?? Am I not doing something correctly? Thanks in advance.

I tested under 10.4.11 and 10.5.7.
On my machines, Spotlight is unable to search in password protected Pages documents.
I had a doubt linked to the feature "Include Preview in document" which is disabled on my machines but even when I enable it, Spolight fails to look in the documents.
Maybe your password is registered in Keychain as one allowing automatic opening.
