Excel Export warning:verify file is not corrupted or is from a trusted sour

Hi, everyone,
I'm using Apex 3.1 under CentOS 5 with 11G and Oracle HTTP server, also with Oracle BI publisher 10.1.3.3.2 under Windows server 2003.
The Oracle BI installation got all the default settings. Print under Apex is working, with PDF, EXCEL, RTF except Excel export with a minor but annoying warning
message like: "
The file you are trying to Open, 'Top100-customer.xls' is in a different format than specified by the file extension, Verify the file is not corrupted or is from a trusted source before opening this file. Do you want to open this file now? "
then if I choose YES(default is NO), everything OKs. I get the same message even I save the file locally then open it. This is annoying to our users because they get such warning everytime they try export Apex to Excel file. Did I miss something in Oracle BIP setting Or did I miss something in Apex setting? the data and export are working, just with this extra unwanted warning.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Your answer is exactly right, it's EXCEL 2007 thing, not Apex or BIP thing.
We have no control on user's registry settings, so from today on I just tell our customers "it's MS's fault" :)

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of this exercise is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login. Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Be sure your Mac is shut down.
Press the power button.
Immediately after you hear the startup tone, hold the Shift key. The Shift key should be held as soon as possible after the startup tone, but not before the tone.
Release the Shift key when you see the gray Apple icon and the progress indicator (looks like a spinning gear).
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under Mac OS X 10.7 or later, you can’t boot in safe mode.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem(s)?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

I am running the latest iTunes, the latest updates to the OS and on an iMac 3.4GHz Quad core i7 with 8GB of RAM and the music stored on local HDD.
Still locks up iTunes for between 2 minutes up to 20 minutes.
Really annoying.

When an Excel file is corrupted, then you can try several methods to recover it:
1. First of all, you can try to repair the file manually in Excel, as follows:

Excel export gives csv file occasionally after multiple exports

Hi experts!!
I have the following problem.
After several exports to excel from the web UI the file format turns to csv, even though the user runs MS office 2007.
I found 2 notes describing the issue but these are for other releases and cannot be implemented.
(I am working on CRM 2007)

for investigating this problem a short introduction to the Excel-Export function is helpful.
On serverside JavaScript tailored for interaction with the current Table is generated. This code is invoked on the client machine and tries interfacing with Excel via ActiveX-Controls. In a third step the data is requested from the Application Server, this request is processed in the handler class CL_CHTMLB_CONFIG_TAB_EXCEL_EXP.
I guess that the problem is caused by the JavaScript code executed on the client machen. There is a fallback, if no ActiveX-Control could be initialized a csv-File is requested from the server.
I would try some JavaScript debugging, the function thtmlbExcelExport in library scripts.js would be a good entry point.

Export to Text file does not page

Since I applied SP 7 for Crystal 9, when I export a report to a text file it does not page and print the report header on each page. It prints the report header once and one lone continuous page of information. My report was export to text with a page header on each page before I applied the service pack. How do I get it to page in the text export and print the page header on each page?

In 8.5 the default behavior of the export to text was to not paginate. With 9 you have a paginate option when you manually export data to text, however when processing in batch

When trouble shooting some difficulties in a game I was directed to run
Disk Utility Program ---Disk Utilities Repair Disk Permissions
I ran the program and got this Warning.
Warning: SUID file "System/Library/CoreServices/RemoteManagement/ARDAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/ARDAg ent" has been modified and will not be repaired.
Should I be concerned? Will it cause difficulties? Have I been hacked?

Check that backup files are not corrupted

Hi all. I am wondering if there is a possibility to check that the files obtained after backing up Oracle XE, NO ARCHIVELOG, are not corrupt. Can you help me? Thanks a lot.

As I see the things:
RMAN has a logging capability. Please take a quick look at Oracle documentation or http://www.ss64.com/ora/rman.html.
You should modify script that is generated in XE to suit your needs. Haven't tested this part (I work on Apex 2.2) but it should be possible - I THINK!
For integrity of backup:
If in RMAN process any error occur this will be logged in that file.
If you transport these files to some staging disk (tapes) then logging in those script should tell you if all went OK
You see that all phases of backup are covered with logging so - manual checking is normal DBA task every morning!
To be able to restore db from RMAN backup - make a real restore from one backup ! TESTING phase is something that must come.
P.S:
If your backup is coping data (after RMAN job) from one place to another use CRC checking on each file on source and destination. CRC results should be the same. Freeware program of that kind are everywhere.

RD Client and RDWeb 2012 - RDP file is not valid when run from chrome browser on Android

After signing into the RDWeb using Android Chrome, I see the published remoteapp. If I click to
run remoteapp, it tries to open the RDP file with the installed RD Client but I got this error "Import Error - The RDP file is not valid. Notify your network administrator."
I have google about this error. One of the forum suggest to use RD client remote resources tab to access the apps but in our environment our user want to use their
own web browser to access the apps. Is there any way we can solve this issue?.

I Paid for PDF Export and the files are not converting correctly

I purchased PDF Export to take a PDF file and convert it to a text file so I could import it into excel, when doing so I get a bunch of extra symbles plus the numbers that i'm trying to convert are not complete.

Could you try disabling the 'Recognize text' function and convert the file again?

Excel export in analysis for olap not working

Hello!
I want to export from analysis for olap 1.1 to an excel file.
First I clicked on the export button, then I chose the wanted compontents and clicked ok.
But there happens nothting, but a new browser window opens and closes itself immediately.
Neither a dialog opens and asks where I want to save this excel, nore I found a related excel-file in my system.
Any ideas on this problem?

finally we solved the porblem. i guess you are working with IE 8.0?
*if so, add the BO-Server (http://server.com) to your lokal intranet sites (inside the IE 8.0).
*also check document mode in IE 8.0 is set to Quirks Mode (under ''Tool/Developer Tool'') when opening the analyis olap report
then it should work.

When exporting project, result file does not work 100%

My version: CS4 Premiere Pro
My set up: Vista Ultimate 32bit, 8GBRAM, NVidia Quadro FX 5600 Driver v: 191.78
My issue:
I have a footage of about 2.5 hours. It is a seminar I recorded. It was recorded on a Sony Handycam CX-100 HD camera. I want to export my project to H.264 format so the client can take a look at the footage and provide cue points for editing.
The only thing I added to the video was timecode for the client set cue points. When I export project I select H.264 and save it as Hight DV quality 720x480.
My problem is that when Encore finish processign the video, I open it to check if it is working and I find that after minute 40 the video frezees and I can only hear audio.
What is wrong? Am I forgetting a setting before saving the video? If I save the video on a Windows format, it plays ok.

In the Getting Started Manual Chapter 6 is a CVI project to create a DLL frequency.prj. I tried various settings in the Build Target settings in CVI (6.0) but still get the same error. Using TestStand (2.0)

Thanks for the response. I realized after posting that my question may be too general to help you understand my problem
I followed the instructions in the manual and from the UIR inserted the callback for the frequency.c and was also added to the
frequency.h file
Later I got it to work using the file in the solutions directory but for the life of me I still cannot see why that worked and mine didnt
A couple of things about my file that I still cant explain is
1) I had to enter an abslute path to the uir itherwise I got a file not found error.
2) I had to add a variable as follows
static void *_CVIUserHInst;
otherwise it gave an error for that part of the exOpenPanel fuction.
I am attaching the file that works in case you are willing to take time and see if YOU can tell why one works and the other does not.
I dont like it when I cant tell why the results are different( always good to know why).

Why a docx converted from a PDF file did not convert 1+ page from the source file?

In trying to work with data from several PDF files, I subscribed to Adobes's online facility to convert source.pdf to output.docx. Output.docx is missing more than a page of data I need. I don't understand why this is happening.
I tried then to convert source.pdf to output.xls and the data in output.xls was repeating itself, for example:. This date value 04/22 was converted to:
04/2204/2204/2204/2204/22
Could any one here help me with these issues?

Do you know how that PDF was created? The quality of the conversion depends largely on the quality of the PDF. It sounds as though you may be experiencing some font-related issues. As a test, you can try converting the file from within Adobe Reader with OCR disabled, as described here: How to disable Optical Character Recognition
Note, however, if the PDF was created from a scanned document, and doesn't contain selectable text, you won't be able to select that text in the converted Word document. (OCR converts scanned/image text to selectable/editiable text). Nonetheless, it's a good test.
As for the .xls output, it sounds as though the PDF isn't tagged to show the various cells in the table. Again, it depends on what created the PDF. Not all PDFs are created equally, alas.
Please try converting with OCR disabled, and see how that goes. If we need to, we can take it from there.
