I'm looking for the Excel File Activity.XLS which can be used in import Activity Data from Excel to P6. My searches have come up with nothing - ive used the code Solution ID: prim4617
And I do have a maintenance agreement - just looking for a quick download.
Cheers for any pointers.

If you have a maintenance agreement, you can contact Oracle support. They should be able to point you to the solution ID in the Knowledgebase. In any case, the solution ID is 893887.1. Good luck!AMA, I believe the solution you quoted above is for the P3.1 files. For P6 see "How To Import And Export Project Management Activity Data To Excel [ID 903308.1]".

  • Attach an Excel File with Email for External Email Address

    Hi,
I want to send an excel file to an external email address as an attachement.
I am using the function module SO_NEW_DOCUMENT_ATT_SEND_API1 for sending the email.
But as far as I know we can only create and send the excel file in this FM. e.g. we can put the text manually and name the file as excel and add it as packing list and send the document.
Now, my client has a template in excel/word which he wants to send as an attachment always when he sends the mail. I have below Queries:
    1. Where and how do i store the template which is in Excel or word? He doesnt want to upload the template each time he runs the report. Can I save the file on AL11? how do i insert the file in this?
    2. I have tried standard texts, but his template contains a logo. So, I am not sure if that would work. Can I send the template in Binary and just aapend the file extension? xls or doc? would that do?

    Hi,
See if you can matintain the required templates in document management and use them in your reports.

  • Understand further about "excel files is locked for editting by me"

Hi friends. I hope you are doing well.
i have a problem with an user in my office when opening an excel file from Server:
“<file_name>.xlsx is locked for editing” . The error shows that it is being used by its own user and that user could not open this file.
    - Our company is domain network and our Domain Controller is also File Servers.
    * I got a workaround action plan is: "unshared the folder which contains the problematic files in server, then share it again". However, this only works with folders which contain a small volume of data. For several GB it will take a considerable
time and affect to network availability.
    I have few questions:
    1. Is there anyway to kill the process/service which is controlling the "excel files" at server ? ( Since i reboot client machine but the error message still persists), beside my workaround action plan.
2.When i use OpenFilesView (from the link:  http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/opened_files_view.html) i can see that the excel files is opened by 2 process : "xlsx and xls" from remote computer. However, i can not kill the process using OpenFilesView.
So i would like to ask: Is there any way to kill a process from remote host?
    3. What actually happens when sharing a files from Server in domain ? ( mechanism of sharing files)
I would appreciate if you can give me some advices for my concern.
Thank you very much! Have a good day.

    Hi,
We have a lot of possible causes for this error, I would suggest your to take a look at this public blog and try the steps out there:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/the_microsoft_excel_support_team_blog/archive/2012/05/14/the-definitive-locked-file-post.aspx
Also, below KB article describes the way that how Excel saves files, you might also want to take a look. There may be some softwares or process is accessing these temporary files.  Check if there is any temporary file (~$filename.xls
or ~$filename.xlsx) in the shared folder, delete them and try again.

  • Parse Excel File via PowerShell for a loop

    Hello everyone,
I would like to parse a column of one of my Excel file to retrieve the string that each of its cell can contain.
This will be used to set the appropriate value of the UPN of users in a specific OU in Active Directory.
The first column being the SAMAccountName and the second column the email address, I would like a loop that for each match of SAMAccountName it finds in the first column, it sets the value of associated row in the second column as its UPN.
I know already the Active Directory cmdlets I would have to use, they works but I do not succeed retrieving data  like I would like from the Excel file.
If someone could help me out on this that will be appreciated :)
    Thanks a lot.

  • How to store an Excel file in InfoPath for users to edit

    Hello,
I need an example on how to store an Excel file within InfoPath 2010 so that every time a user opens the InfoPath form they can make changes and can save as part of the form. The next user opens the form and another Excel files (blank) where they make changes and
    saves. Thanks

Streamlining this would require a bit of custom work I imagine. However if you don't mind giving the users some extra clicks, there are probably a few ways to get the job done.
You could upload the excel file to SharePoint, make sure it's read-only and link to it within the InfoPath form. Then the process would be that users open the InfoPath form, fill it out, download the excel doc to their desktops and fill it out, and then
attach it to the IP form.
Or you could set up a separate, sister library where the New Item defaults to your Excel template. Then from within the InfoPath form you could have a hyperlink that creates the new item, saving it to the library. The caveat here is finding a way to link
to the two items together with a unique identifier. The benefit though is being able to browse and interact with Excel docs independent of the forms they are attached to, if necessary.

  • WIS 10883 using large Excel File as source for report in WebI RichClient

    Hi,
I'm trying to use a relatively large Excel 2003 file, say 7000 rows and 19 columns, as a source for a report in WebI Rich Client. When selecting a range of only 1500 records and 19 columns everything works, when accessing the full 7000 (or originally 30,000) I get this error message.
Does anybody know of a size limit for this and if so an option to adjust it? The only resources for this very limited.
    Thanks
    Norman Ruppert

    Tina,
I'm not sure why you are so negative to having Excel in the mix.
Excel is only used at development time - its mearly used as a design interface to build the xcelsius model that feeds data and controls components within the flash file that xcelsius generates.
Excel is not used at run time in any way (unless one uses a third party connector to use an XLS as a data source of course).
If you attempt to use xceslius without using the OLE embeded Excel sheet at design time you will only be able to create VERY simplistic dashboards.
The new connectivity in version 4 just removes a design step to make development simpler my combining direct to components - but behind the sceens i believe it is really only connecting to a hidden part of the model not shown the the Excel interface at design time!
i think we would all agree that having excel can be a pain at design time (especially those that used/use live office!) but it does offer a pretty good interface for building very intuative looking models behind your flash components.
    cheers,
    Jeremy.

  • Tranform templateu00B4s Excel files into *.txt for Data Transfer Workbench

I have some problems transforming the data files to import since Data Transfer Workbench.
I haven't the extructure of de Excel templates of SAP BO.
What is more important: I'm transforming the data with Access consults, and I use Access for convert the Excel to *.txt files. So, somebody could tell me another way to do this?

    Hello,
You can have the structure of all DTW templates in C:\Program Files\SAP\Data Transfer Workbench\Templates.
They are in csv format, but I think this is more easy to save them in txt format (with tab), because you will be able to use "," in the numbers easily.
For more help on how to fill the templates, you can have a look at DI API help (in the SDK folder). You will find the explanation of every column of your templates.

  • I accidentally saved an excel file in the AutoRecovery Folder & can't find it....

Other discussions have suggested the following route for discovery:
    Library>Application Support>Microsoft>Office>Office 2011 Auto Recovery
But, I can only get as far as Microsoft and then cannot find Office etc.  The folders in my Microsoft folder are: PlayReady, Silverlight, MAU2.0 and MERP2.0 and none of them get me to Auto Recovery.
Help!  I have been working on this for the past 4 days.

I have done this as well -.- sooo stupid! I can see my file when I start a new document, then hit "save as" and select the "office 2011autorecovery" file. But it is kind of transparent (if that makes sense). I can't drag and drop nor right click.
If I follow the route you describe I end up at the same dead end as you.
However, when I go Documents>Microsoft User Data> it leads me to the file "Office 2011 Auto Recovery". This file however, is empty.
I did try to uncover hidden files with a command in the terminal. This didn't help to find the lost file.
How did you go? Could you find your excel? I am really desperate to find mine! Nothing that I can find on the internet seems to work.

It works and converts many other files.

  • User manual in PDF for AcrobatPro8 - where to find it?

I tried to print the Help of AcrobatPro8 however could not find an option to print whole manual as it is, for example, with Illustrator where you can get the whole manual in a neat PDF format.
The only way to print anything from the very large Help menu, apparently is to print page by page.
    The question:
Is there any website or link where I can download the  user manual for  AcrobatPro8   in PDF ?
    Thanks for any tip

The online Resource page for Acrobat 8 provides additional links and more detailed information, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Acrobat/8.0/Professional/.

  • Scenarios bundle and sample excel files for customer for SAP MDM

  • Error - In generating URL for a Excel File in WebDynpro Project

    Hi,
In my WebDynpro Application, i have a EXCEL file ("Test.xls") and it is kept in the below mentioned location.
    Project->src->mimes->Components-><my component>
This is the code i have used to generate URL.
    IWDWebResource webRes = WDWebResource.getWebResource(wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(), WDWebResourceType.XLS,     "Test.xls");
    String excelFileURL = webRes.getAbsoluteURL();
    wdContext.currentContextElement().setExcelFileURL(excelFileURL);
i have assigned the URL to context element which in turn is assigned to LinkToURL UI element.
I always get this error "Invalid URL=/webdynpro/resources/local/RigsOnMove/Components/ndc.maintain_rigmove.MaintainRigMoveComp/Test.xls".
Please let me know your solution(s) to the above mentioned issue/problem.
    Thanks
    Senthil

    Hi Senthil,
your code seems to be correct! Probabily your file is test.xls (NOT Test.xls with the first letter in uppercase).
    Try to write:
    IWDWebResource webRes = WDWebResource.getWebResource(wdComponentAPI.getDeployableObjectPart(), WDWebResourceType.XLS,     "test.xls");
    Hope this help,
    Vito
