  • I save my Excel file as .PDF then send it out by email. What program is best for my use?

I want to send my Excel files as .pdf by email.  I need to know if Acrobat program is best for me.  I purchased a PDF file this morning and I don't think I need that.  From what I have seen, The Acrobat file is more what I need.  If so, then I would like to cancel the PDF file I ordered this morning and replace it with the Acrobat program.  I already have the Adobe Reader XI installed.

Fay it isn't clear what you are referencing by "PDF file" and "Acrobat file".
Yes there is the file format "PDF".
No there's no file format "Acrobat file".
Anyway, there are a number of ways to create a PDF file from an Excel file.
    From Adobe -
You can purchase ("perpetual" license or subscription) Acrobat (Standard or Pro).
After install of Acrobat you will have the Adobe PDF virtual printer which you can use to print to PDF (instead of print to paper).
After install of Acrobat you will have the PDFMaker which integrates with Office applications.
You can create a PDF from Excel using the PDFMaker.
    Or
You can subscribe to Adobe's online service "PDF Pack".
As a subscriber you go online, point the browser to the service's site, sign in, upload the Excel file and then save the output PDF to your computer.
With the PDF in hand you originate the email and attach the PDF.
    Be well...

  • ASAP Is any Java libraries exist to modify Excel file and PDF file

Is any Java libraries exist to modify Excel file and PDF file. I know about the third party libraries like Apache poi and many more. But I want to know about java libraries not the third party tools.

It is always difficult when you need to convert multiple xls files to pdf or multiple sheets to pdf. If you have a single file to convert then the best method would be to copy your data to doc file and then convert it into PDF . If you have multiple files to convert then it is really difficult to convert all the files manually. Then the better method would be to use converter tool to convert excel to pdf . By doing this you can convert many files in just few seconds.

  • After I covert my excel file to PDF, my images are cut off or not appearing at all HELP?!

    Hello!
I am creating a Exel Work book and converting it to a PDF file (easy to share online).
Once I convert the Excel Work book, some of my images are cut off or not appearing at all.
Which I find weird because some images pop up just fine.
These images are originally flats from Adobe Illustrator I converted to pictures with Excel.
So why is that when I convert my workbook to a PDF file some images show through and others don't?
    Please Help!
    ORIGINAL EXCEL FILE
Once I save it as a PDF File. Other pages are fine except this one?

Correction for above: 'Bit depth' not ' Bid depth'

  • Converting excel file to PDF using Adobe 9 standard on windows XP

I have installed office 2010 SP1 on a computer and it already has adobe 9 installed. user never had problem with converting multi sheet excel workbook to PDF using MSoffice 2003.
Now, when we open excel files in EXCEL 2010 then try to print it to adobe 9, it asks for a filename and we type a name and it convert the first 2 sheet and then it asks again for the other filename and if we enter other name it print other sheets into second file. so basically it splits to 2 PDF files for no reason.
I tested same file on my laptop with windows 7 and adobe standard 9 and office 2010  and i got same result.
anybody knows what is the issue?

Have you updated Acrobat? Have you tried printing to another file format just to see if it is an issue with Acrobat or OFFICE 2010. OFFICE 2010 has forced many folks to upgrade to AA X to obtain compatibility.

  • Convert Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files to PDF

This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS40411658-73C0-4669-88E8-D410F5993FAC.html

Acrobat converts a whole Excel sheet to PDF even though one wants to convert only a defined print area (if converting the Excel file with either right-click or from within Acrobat . Converting from within Excel works.)
    -> Applies for Excel 2010 only .
    Workaround:
Activate in Excel the function "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time" under:
Tab Review > Share Workbook > set checkmark at "Allow changes by more than one user at the same time"
then save the document and now creating a PDF with each of the above mentioned methods works as expected.

  • Text file to pdf conversion

I have thousands of ASCII text files that I need to convert to PDF.  I have a trial version of Acrobat 9 pro that handles the batch conversion nicely.  The problem is that the files are not converting correctly.  They are 88 characters per line and 80 lines per page. They are formatted with blank lines for paging purposes.  Most are 3 pages.  I cannot seem to get the pages to break in the correct spot like I can opening the text file with MS notepad.  I tried using Primopdf (free download) and the files convert perfectly.  Unfortunately, there is no batch conversion feature.  I would appreciate any help I can get with this matter.  Thank you.

I did some experiments and it seems that Acrobat uses the paper size specified in Edit-Preferences-New Document and then adjusts the font size so that the longest line fits into that size. So the longer your longest line is, the smaller the font will be. Therefore, I suggest you play around with either the page size or the length of your lines until you achieve what you want.

  • Converting Excel File to .pdf

I created an Excel 2003 file that has hidden rows.  When I tried to create a .pdf using Professional 8.0, only 75% of the file is converted.  It converts all of the top of the document (minimum of 5 hidden rows) but stops converting after a section of 15 hidden rows.  I don't know if hidden rows are the problem or not.  The file was converted using Excel 2003 with Profession 7.0 and also converted fine with Excel 2007 and Profession 8.0.  Does anyone have a solution or reason why I can't convert the file?
    Thanks!

Try updating your Acrobat to with the latest patch - 8.1.4, if you haven't already done so.

  • Saving excel file to PDF

I can do this easily enough, but the pdf loses the lines within the document (its a prices sheet that has columns etc...and shows text only.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Hi biskit,
This could be a setting in the excel preferences "dont print table borders" or something along those lines, it will also apply that to exporting or saving to pdf.
Another thing you could try is file menu > print > in the print dialog that pops up at the bottom you will see an option to save as PDF, maybe that way it will show the lines.

    Hi, Ali.
I'm guessing that you did not use the CreatePDF service or Adobe Acrobat to convert your Excel file to PDF. Both will retain Excel hyperlinks in the resulting PDF file. I'd suggest you subscribe to CreatePDF and give it a try.
    Thanks.
