Excel in Web layout: calculation of total after a cell change

Hi,
I'm using BW 3.5 with SEM BPS 4.0 and Excel in Web layouts. I can see the total rows/columns are not updating automatically after a cell change like it does in "normal html-web". User has to press refresh or save to update the totals. Any workarounds?

Hi Aki,
no I mean in <u>Excel</u>.
When editing the layout, on the third screen, in excel, go to Tools->Options.
Then click on the "Calculation" Tab.
Calculation needs to be set to automatic otherwise you have to refresh to update any results for a given formula.

    I've not come across this problem before, but if it is only a selected number of users then I would check there version of Excel they have, should be above Version 2000.

    Dear Friends
    I am Relatively new to reports. Can you please help me with the following Q's(using report 9i)
    1. I created a report in tabular form and in the web layout I cannot see the table cell lines?
    2. So I edited the HTML code and gave bordercolour. Now web lay out worke fine. But when I call the report from forms (ie when the report is shown using the reports server) these lines are again not shown? Why?
    The HTML code in this is not what we see in the HTML view of report developer ? Why so?

    hi there
    viewing reports in html format has limitation according to oracle reports server. So instead of viewing the data through html format try to choose htmlcss which is style sheet of html format.
    While calling reports from form builder pass the destype parameter as htmlcss instead of html

  • Calculations on Total column' fields(bps layout: dynamic calmonth)

    hi friends,
    in bps, output layout, based on dynamic calmonth i showing number of months.  I want to system to calulate total(all calmonths) sum for a particular field.
    Lead column    data columns
    Expenses      apr2009  may 2009 june 2009.....mar2010   Total
      Office             20         10        20                                       100
    Usually for caculating total in layout builder 2nd screen, we chose tickmark(total) and then write c(1): c(1)   like that or simply c(1) which calculates all calmonth values.
    My situation is like this, user only enter number of year(s), in terms of range. I populate calmonth field using user-exit based on  year range. Next using calmonth field in layout builder as dynamic field. Now user wants  TOTAL of individual years along with calmonths.  How can i put this condition in layout builder?
    eg:
                       apr2009 may 2009......mar2010  Total(09-10)  apr2010 may 2010  ...mar2011  Total(10-11).apr2011 ..Total(11-12).
    Expenses   10           20   30..............
    Next question, Can i do arthemetic calculation on total fields?
    eg:
    Lead column     apr09 may09 ....mar10 total
    A                         10      20                           100
    B                          20     30                             200
    c                           10    5                              ????(this value i want to calulate by above totals eg:   (200/100)* 85.
    Can it possible to get that?

    It is not possible to hide or change the column width during design time if the layout is ALV.
    However if the layout is used in WIB (web interface builder), I believe the column widths can be modified at run time. This would need additional coding.

  • Total Only in Web Layout

    If I may, I have a nagging question on setting up a layout that contains totals.
    We have a display only form that contains cost elements with a column for Actuals and a column for Plan so people can do a quick look to compare.
    The problem is the Plan column contains Total Year, not what the plan is Year to date.  For example, if the fiscal period is March, they want the plan to show what the total would be through March.
    I have tried selection criteria (data returned is incorrect), dynamic columns, several other things with no luck.  Dynamic columns is the only process that got the correct data to return, but the users don't want to see the jan/feb/mar/total, they just want to see the total.
    And because they want the hierarchy, switching to Excel and trying to hide things isn't an option.
    Am I overlooking something?

  • Row text Visible in Excel layout but missing in Web layout

    Hi,
    My row text is visible in Excel layout but it is missing in web layout. Only the first row is missing text while the other rows are showing
    The planning layout that I am using is also used in another web layout but I don't have same issue.
    I have tried to the following.
    - Retransport the layout
    - delete the row and recreate it
    but the issue is still the same.

  • Input Field: Value Range in IP Web Layout

    Hi Experts,
    I've created a Web Layout based on IP with a copy function (e.g. from actual 2008 to plan2009) over 12 calendar months. For choosing the months to be copied, I created a Variable (calmonths) and added an Input Field into my layout to enter the the months to be copied. I referred the variable to the input field and it's working...
    When I want to select several months to be copied, I can type in " 1; 2; 3; " into the input field, execute the planning function and only month 1, 2, 3 (i.e. Jan, Feb, Mar) are being copied. But when I want to copy all 12 months, i have to enter 1; 2; 3; 4;...11; 12 which is kind of anoying! Has somebody some experience whether I can use a value range like 1-12 (or something like that) to avoid entering all the months individually? (I tried 1-12; 1- 12; 1 - 12; 1:12 etc but nothing like this is working)
    It would be very helpful if someone has an idea

    Thanks a lot for your valuable input! Unfortunately I was not able until today to test your recommodations.
    I tried your Interval variable but then faced the problem that I cannot enter multiple months anymore (e.g. 5 - 8 worked, 1; 3; 5 not).  Then I inserted both variables, multiple values & interval, into the planning function as well as in the button group in WAD for executing the PF but was not able to execute the following example: 1; 8; 4 - 6. After trying out for some time I figured out that one has to type in the figures in the following order: 4 - 6; 1; 8. Only then I am able to execute the planning function for the months April-June & Jan & August. So, if you're facing the same problem in the future, maybe you have the solution

    I think I am experiencing the same problem here and I'm struggling to implement the solution, mainly because I am a complete newbie at jsp reports (and most things webby).
    1) Can I add the code following code directly to the web source? If not then how do I find the css file being used?

    Now after this piece of code gets executed I get to see a JSP report in Paper Layout format. But I want the Web Layout to be displayed. Can anyone please tell me what I've to do to get the desired output in Web Layout.

    Thanks for the reply. As per my code "df" actually is a variale which stands for the format of the output, which is determined by the users selection(in this case a radio group) in the form. DF stands for either "pdf" or "htmlcss".
    The following is the code I've used to determine the users preference which can be found within my original posting.

  • Loading data from excel to BPS layout

    Hi,
    I have BPS layouts in place and also excel sheets which are exact replica of those layouts.
    I know 2 options to load excel data into the BPS. These are:
    1) Copy and paste the data from excel to BPS layout.
    2) Create a flat file in line format from excel and then use method explained in document "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI.pdf".
    Is there any other way I can upload the same?
    Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.

    But here the user needs to load data directly to the transactional cube.
    So it is a case of "instead of keying in values" on to the BPS planning layout, user wants to upload the data from excel into the BPS layout.
    Planning is done on SAP GUI and not web browser.
    I am able to do the same using the document "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI".
    But in this case the data needs to be converted into a simple csv file in line item format before it can be uploaded.
    Is there any way, where we can upload from excel file without having it to change to csv format as required in "How to Load a Flat File into BW-BPS Using SAPGUI"?

  • Run Web layout hangs

    Hi all,
    I'm having problems running a simple test report on Reports Builder 9.0.2.
    I've created a report based on an Html file saved from Excel, as in the "Output to Excel with Oracle9i Report" from the "Getting Started with Oracle9i Reports" demonstrations.
    When I click on "Run Web Layout" Reports Builder hangs and never unlocks any more.
    The trace log just states the following:

    Now after this piece of code gets executed I get to see a JSP report in Paper Layout format. But I want the Web Layout to be displayed. Can anyone please tell me what I've to do to get the desired output in Web Layout.

    Thanks for the reply. As per my code "df" actually is a variale which stands for the format of the output, which is determined by the users selection(in this case a radio group) in the form. DF stands for either "pdf" or "htmlcss".
    The following is the code I've used to determine the users preference which can be found within my original posting.
    DECLARE
    df varchar2(10);
    BEGIN
    IF(:rbg=1) then
    df:='pdf';
    ELSE
    df:='htmlcss';
    END IF;
    END;
    Kindly point out to me if there are any errors in the way I've written this code.

    I am displaying a report on the web using WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT built in after calling it from Forms. I want to update some attribute in the database after the report is printed. Where can i place the update statement.
    note:I dont need solution for the reports printed using paper layout.

    Mr. Marcos, The problem is After-Report trigger will fire when the report is printed in paper layout. when the same report is printed in web layout the After-Report is not firing. It seem that the update code should be included in the Web-Source tab in Object Navigator but I don't know how to script it.

  • Facing problem in placing portlets in Web Layout

    I am facing problem in placing portlets on Web layout page-
    1. I am getting some space between the regions. I want that my portlet should join adjacent only not even a single pixel gap should be there.
    2. In Web Layout, First region is the left most and after that subsequent region comes right to first region and one after other. But my second and third region's portlet are coming adjacent instead of third region's portlet coming under second region's portlet
    Please help...............

    The first issue is a bug/feature that has been changed in 3.0.8 (9iAS MR1) due out this week. In previous releases we added spacing arbitrarily. Now, you can define the spacing in the region properties.
    I don't understand issue number 2. Can you clarify the problem?
