Excel printing looks out of alignment

All in One C410A. Print works fine in all programs except MS Excel. My printouts look like the printheads are out of alighnment; both vertical and horizontal depending on the file. This did not happen until I moved to the C410. My old C309 the print was perfect.

I am having the exact same issue with my 410; it looks as though the printer heads are out of alignment.
Has anyone seen a sollution? It occurs in the middle of the page but only in Excel.

I am having the same problem. It just started happening after nearly two years. I ran a diagnostics page and it is the magenta that is off. The magenta bar on the bottom of the page is at an angle. It is aligned on the right but on the left side it is about 1/16th of an inch low. I also updated the firmware and ran the calibration twice. I have 1/3 of toner left in the magenta, black and cyan. The yellow is getting down to about 15% left. I would love a solution.

The issue started the first day we had the print. It has taken me a while to get into diagnosing it but I have tried the following:
I have tried replacing the toner cartridges with new ones (expensive). The problem occured even with the original starter cartridges.
I have tried a full printer reset.
I have tried leaving the printer unplugged from power for 24 hours.
I have tried several alignment features within the printer menu.
Printing black alone is fine. All other colors do not line up with each other or with the black. Creates a 3D-ish kind of effect.
The printers quality report shows all colors areprinting fine but not aligned to one another.
I have included scans of a part of a rainbow print that illustrates the misalignment as well as the quality report page.

Cp 1215 prints out of alignment

My laserjet CP 1215 all of a sudden started to print out of alignment. I did downloaded and installed firmware 20100201, did the initialization and calibrated 3 time, and still no fix.
I repeated the problem 3 times without any succes.
Any suggestions?

Installed New Printheads Now Printer Just Keeps Automatically Aligning printheads & using ink

After installing new cyan print cartridge, printer automatically required printhead alignment, cleaning, etc. It then said that the Cyan/Magenta Printhead would need replacement soon. Print quality page said everything else was good, but when I went to print document, everything was BAD.
I replaced the cyan/magenta printhead w/brand new HP. Automatically it attempted to align printhead. It has been automatically aligning printheads constantly for 2 weeks now, it has sucked down TWO cyan ink cartridges, one yellow and one magenta, yet I have printed NOTHING but alignment pages, which I cannot get the printer to stop doing.
I NEED MY PRINTER. PLEASE HELP!!!!! Cannot afford another, cannot afford to go out of house to print, and already (with mutliple ink cartridges) have hundreds of dollars into this mailing that was supposed to go out three weeks ago.

I read your posts about the printhead issue you have been having. I just wanted to reach out and let you know what my suggestion is and what I think is happening.
I believe the printheads are failing or at least on their way. My best suggestion to you, is to follow the steps in the guide below. I have looked through the steps and I would personally recommend them. If anything is going to cure the printheads from consistently running an alignment or perhaps seeing the "checking printer" message, it would be those steps. Clean the contacts very well and power reset the printer and give the printer a direct connection to the wall, avoiding power bars and surge protectors.
'The Following Printhead Appears to be Missing or Damaged' or 'The Following Printhead has a Problem...
If the troubleshooting does not help resolve your issue, I would then suggest calling HP's Technical Support to see about further options for you. They may have a trade in offer available.

Adobe reader: printing booklet, double-sided alignment issue

I am printing a booklet (designed in indesign). I have tried printing from Indesign, but there isn't an option to print on both sides.
So I made it into a pdf and tried from Adobe Reader (using booklet printing). Now I have the option to print on both sides, but when they come out, the alignment is wrong (the pages don't line up to the one printed on the opposite side.
I would appreciate any ideas!

I used a Word document that was 3 pages long and printed it from MS Word 2010 and it printed incorrectly (page 1 on sheet 1 side 1, page 2 on sheet 2 side 1, page 3 on sheet 2 side 2). Then I saved it in PDF and printed from Adobe Reader and it printed correctly. But I noticed that Word printed it in reverse order whereas Adobe printed in normal order starting from Page 1. So I looked in Options/Advanced/Printing in Word 2010 and there was a box for Print pages in reverse Order that was ticked. So I un-ticked this Print pages in reverse order and re-printed from Word and lo and behold it printed it correctly! It looks to me as if Word has a 'bug' (sorry MS undesired feature) that when printing in reverse order sometimes gets the pages incorrect. It is useful when printing long documents to print them in reverse order as they are in the correct order with page 1 on top. But eh oh I will leave this off and see whether the problem disappears. Excel Print preview stopped working and when save as pdf, pdf is blank

i was working on 2 documents for our accountant.
created one in excel, converted to pdf
created second one in excel, converted to pdf
there was maybe a 30 minute time lapse between these 2 files...tops
the first file does in fact have a print preview, and the pdf opens and is viewable.
HOWEVER, on the second file, there is no print preview, and pdf is blank.
(although the printer does in fact print the file with all the words and whatnot on it...)
blank pdf prints blank.
i tried xlsx, and xls to pdf, and nothing works.
it seems that all of the files created before this troublesome one can be converted and seen in print preview....even if i add a new sheet to the workbook, that works just fine...can print preview and convert pdf no problems.
now, when i try to do that with the second file, or any new excel doc, i canNOT convert or print preview....everything is blank.
one minute it was working, the next it's not.
it works for some excel files while not working for newer ones.
nothing was changed in preferences for excel, preview, or the printer, unless i accidentally typed a keyboard command that would allow this to happen.
i REALLY need to be able to convert excel to pdf! and i really don't want to have to print them out just to scan them in and save the scans as pdf...not fun.
i have been researching, or trying to research this here,and it seems that there is a known bug for office 2008, or for a different OS, but none of the work arounds for those issues are helping me here!

Try different page setups and layouts. Reinstall the Office fonts, or check for new patches from Microsoft. Check in Microsoft Office forums. Mind you PDF from preview and print are not as complete as Adobe Acrobat Pro, and are based on open source PDF standards. I don't know how well the standards were at the time your Office application was written, or if 10.5's PDF standard was up to Office's snuff, or if you updating to the latest available Adobe Acrobat Reader and Plugin will help, but between Office's and Adobe's forum you may be abl eto find an answer.

Type on Monitor looks out-of-register

I just reinstalled my Win 7 Pro (64 bit) OS and now the HP 2709m monitor is no longer displaying text clearly. It looks out-of-register and blurry with some letters darker than others with blue at the edges.
I reinstalled the driver from original HP CD, then downloaded latest "Driver - Display/Monitor" from your website. I also downloaded the utility tools, and ran "first aid" twice, but couldn't correct the problem.
I have previously had little trouble figuring out how to get the monitor text in better alignment, but I can't get the same results this time around. The tools just didn't seem to help. Perhaps there's a specific setting in the monitor's own menu options that I missed. I would appreciate it if you might offer a solution to this problem.

I understand that your HP 2709m Monitor is not displaying properly and your having issues getting it fixed. I am providing you with some steps you can try below:
Step 1. Unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor and the wall
Step 2. Hold the power button down for at least one minute
Step 3. Plug the power cord back into the monitor and then into the wall outlet (not a power bar or surge protector)
Step 4. Press the Menu button on the monitor
Step 5. Navigate to the Factory Reset option and select it
If the above steps did not resolve your issue you can try the monitor on a computer or other device to see if the issue persists. If it does I think it would be best if you contact HP Technical Support for repair options.

Spry menu out of alignment in IE

Not sure if this is the right place ... I am new to Dreamweaver and CSS but I have created a spry menu (horizontal) and everything looks good in all browsers except IE, the main container which is green is out of alignment with the menu bar at the top. I have been fiddling with this for weeks. Any help would be much appreciated. The link is as follow:

Thank you … I took a look at the web address you sent me, but couldn’t figure out what I was supposed to do with it! Then I tried setting the individual widths of the menu items and this has improved the appearance in IE to the point where I can live with it. What puzzles me though is why, if the cumulative total of the menu items measure 946 px and the ‘main‘ div also measures 946, they don’t exactly match up exactly lengthwise.
Also your comment about not using ‘absolute’ positioned divs … I have been learning Dreamweaver from the Adobe manual and it recommends that you use absolute positioning for the ‘main’ div and so I thought everything else within the container (other than the container itself which I have set to relative) should be absolute. Are you saying that I should not use absolute for the main div or are you just referring to the menu div? If I don’t use absolute what should I use?

Text shifting out of alignment when previewed in Muse or in web browser

Hi,
I am having issues with some title text not staying where I want it to. Here are some images: http://imgur.com/a/ZX6z9
The first image shows how I have the page set up in the planner. The text in question is the title "Art Portfolio". If you look at the other two images, the second one being Muse's preview function and the third being in Safari, you will see that the title has shifted down a little in relation to the rest of the site. It is easily noticed because it throws the title out of alignment with the menu.
Anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue? I can compensate by moving it a bit higher in the planner, but I would very much prefer that the software worked as intended rather than me having to intervene.

Hi Thrfoot,
I have a similar text issue with resizing occurring in preview and live mode. I believe text boxes (unlike web pages) are responsive to browser width. Just for grins, try keeping your Orbitron font and making the text box slightly wider and see if that helps. It may not, but I had to jiggle mine about quite a bit to keep it in line with everything else.

Pixma MX922 - BK appears to be out of alignment. PGBK, C, M, Y all (relatively) perfect.

Hey all, I've actually submitted this to Canon support, but I thought I'd bring up the issue since it's pretty strange and I would think that anyone familiar with it might see this post and go... "Oh hey, I know that!"
So... Pixma MX922... I appear to be having issues with BK (not PGBK). Text is distorted, or "fat" (wider than it should be and fuzzy) and if it's small text you can see what appears to be a duplicate offset, what I believe is the difference between the PGBK and BK... it appears the dye black is out of alignment independently from the colors and PGBK as evidenced from the print head check page.
The solid rectangular bars to the left and right of PGBK are crisp and solid, as is the grid to the right. The bars of black to the left and right of C, M, Y, and BK are distorted, getting fatter to the center of the bar. The actual color samples are all a solid crisp rectangle but the BK pattern is also distended on the sides.

Steps I've taken:
cleaned heads (incl. deep cleaning)
cleaned timing strip
aligned heads automatically and manually.

Printer spits out blank pages v8.1.3

When I hit print button, my printer spits out blank pages
(about the same number as there are pages in the pdf document). The
printer works fine with other programs (Word, Excel etc.) but not
with the Acrobat 8.1.3
What gives?

Printer shoots out blank pages

When I try to print from the internet (articles, plane boarding pass, etc) the printer shoots out 3-4 blank pages. I must email everything to myself and then print from that account. How can I print directly from the internet (steps required)?

Sometimes web pages won't print their content
consistently, so making a pdf of the page first
may help; and notice when you go to print a
page that was saved as PDF if the file page
looks blank to the print section's Preview.
Sometimes even PDFs look blank to Preview
mode in the print section, of the web page
content is not something readily seen by the
browser and Preview.
And on occasion, using a different browser
may help. For general pdf issues, if Preview
will not give you a good result, try Acrobat's
Reader. They've renamed it a few times, and
some files still prefer that over Preview in OSX.
On rare occasions, I have had to make screenshot
images of web pages to get a printable content.
That is OK, as far as one can drag to select; since
the page will not scroll when trying to get a larger
than desktop size screenshot selective capture.
There has to be a more definitive answer to this.
In Panther, it was not as apparent; in Tiger it is.

Objects out of alignment when published

Hi,
I;m having issues with alignment and have searched the forum bt not yet found a resolution.
Despite setting alignment in the Design view, the live view places some objects out of alignment.

and the boxes as part of the left hand column are out. However in the Dutch version, they are not.

Thanks for taking the time to look and reply. I've checked and there are no overlapping or stray boxes, but its something I'll keep an eye out for. I grouped all the column items together, but this doesn't prevent it from happening.

Why are my prints coming out blurry

i am trying to make 8x10 prints of my edited work and they are coming out pixelated...what is this image size feature? do i need to adjust the numbers to get a better quality print?

Is your monitor calibrated and profiled with a hardware device? If not, all bets are off - it's always going to be a bit hit and miss as to how prints look compared to any particular program. However, if you're not using colour management (with printer profiles) then here's one thing that may make Lightroom print more like Epson software. When you print in LR, in the "Print Job" settings (bottom right of print module), try setting (in Color Management) the profile to sRGB (probably sRGB IEC61966-2.1). First time, you'll probably have to choose "Other..." and find sRGB from a long list.
By default, LR sends images to the printer in ProPhoto colour space, and non-managed printer driver software often won't cope (resulting in dark desaturated prints). Force LR to send the image in sRGB and it's more likely to be about right.
