Hi experts,
When I'm try to export some ALV table into excel file,
I have the following problem.
Excel file is generated, but there is a problem with the columns, in one column it show the header (description of the column)
and in the next to it there are the values.
Column A           Column B
Header desc.
                           Value 1
                           Value 2
Do you know some solutions how it can be fixed I expect to be like this:
Column A
Header desc.
Value 1
Value 2
Thanks,

Hello Tanzio,

  • Large Excel spreadsheet issues

I have a resume database that I export all the names/ph#'s/email addys to an excel spreadsheet. About 9000 contacts onto the spreadsheet. I bought an application title (Folders) and got it loaded into the folder but the document won't open.
I added another test spreadsheet with no real data on it to the folder and it opened it.
The file is 1.94mb and has no macros or anything like that.
Am I doing something wrong or is there application out there that I can load an excel spreadsheet of contacts into that I can get to open and search by name. I don't want to add these 9000 contacts into my standard phone contacts

You need to ask the author of Folders. That is not an Apple application. If you use Outlook or iCal for your contacts one option is to put those contacts into a separate folder in Outlook or Group in iCal. This will make the accessible in Contacts on the iPhone as a separate group, but won't clutter up your primary contact list.

  • Troubleshooting issues opening Excel spreadsheets

Platform: SP 2010 service pack 2. Office 2010, windows 7 on user laptop , IE 9 32 bit browser.
several users started calling recently about problems opening Excel spreadsheets. They are on different SharePoint sites on the same site collection.
No changes/patches have been made to SharePoint.
No changes to the site collection features of configuration of which I am aware.
The site collection is configured that users clicking on a doc library item opens in the application associated with the file type.
When I, as a farm admin (which I need to do due to permissions), and I click on the Excel documents on person 1's troubled site, they open in Excel as expected.
When the person reporting the problem clicks on the Excel spreadsheets, he gets one of two behaviors.
On the first paginated page (documents 1-31) , if he clicks on an Excel document, two instances of the Excel application opens.
On page 3 (documents 61-90) when he clicks on an Excel document, the excel data appears within the web page itself with a button at the top that says "Open in Excel". When he clicks that, he gets an error box that states
To open this workbook, your computer must have a version of Microsoft Excel installed and your web browser must support opening files directly from Excel in the browser.
This of course is interesting since on the first page, clicking on one of the documents uses the version of Excel installed and opens the file directly.
None of these behavior, of course, can I duplicate.
And, just to add another confusing item to the list, if this person goes to a different doc library and everything works fine.
So this does not seem to be related to add-ons (why would add-ons act differently between sites?).
The sites that I have examined all have the same advanced setting regarding opening the document in the client app rather than the browser.
I have not yet started the process of having a repair on Office 2010 be broken in a way that on different pages different behaviors occur?

Well, after the admins performed the repair on Office 2010, the user was able to click on Excel workbooks and have them open as expected.

  • Excel spreadsheets with macro's

    Good day
Excel spreadsheets with macro's created in Windows does not work on my Macbook (excel for mac 2011), even if I enable macro's. I do not create these spreadsheets myself. Cn anyone assist please? Thank you for your time.

    Hi,
As far as I known, the macro/Active X control can be used well with both of the Office 2013 and Office 365.
Would you like to share us a sample file that created in Office 2013? I'd like to test it. You can send it via Email ([email protected]).
If you have any update, please feel free let us know.
    ===========
    Update:
I have received your mail and
attachment. Then, I tested it, I found the probably reason.
You were using ActiveX controls in the sample file, and them displayed 4 tabs in Format control dialog box. Next, you created a new Form control, it displayed 7 tabs.
You were using the two type of controls. ActiveX controls and Form controls
    are different.
    Form controls
Form controls are the original controls that are compatible with earlier versions of Excel, starting with Excel version 5.0. Form controls are also designed for use on XLM macro sheets.
    ActiveX controls
ActiveX controls can be used on worksheet forms, with or without the use of VBA code, and on VBA UserForms. In general, use ActiveX controls when you need more flexible design requirements than those provided by Form controls. ActiveX controls have extensive
properties that you can use to customize their appearance, behavior, fonts, and other characteristics.

  • How do I show/refresh data from an Access Web App in an Excel spreadsheet saved in a Document Library on Sharepoint 2013 online

I have an Access 2013 Web App in my Sharepoint 2013 online website. It contains a query to report on its data (several, actually, but let's keep it simple). I want to connect an Excel spreadsheet to the query, visualise the data in pivot tables/graphs/whatever,
save the spreadsheet in a Document Library, and let other team site Sharepoint users open the spreadsheet (preferably in Excel online, but with Excel client if it has to be) and see/copy the data, refreshed with the latest information from the Access Web App.
    Simple, surely!
The way I'm doing it at the moment is to create an ODC file to connect to the cloud-based Access 2013 database, save that ODC in a Data Connection Library in the SP site, and use the saved ODC file as data source in the Excel spreadsheet. This works and
successfully keeps everything 'in the cloud' but I can't get it to refresh in Excel Online, and if I open the spreadsheet in Excel Client I have to enter the database password every time to refresh it. I don't really want to issue this password to everyone
who might want to view the data. There must be a better way than this ODC method, I suspect.
Googlings on this have led down various blind alleys - Excel Services, PowerPivots, Web Parts - but I'm stuck on which to follow through. Please, someone, point me to an article/book/website that explains how to do this step-by-step in simple language..
    thanks
    Jonathan

I don't see any quick way of achieving it - at least there's no such functionality exists in SharePoint. All you can do, develop an event receiver that will update the fields in the list item once the excel file is added/updated. You can use OpenXml API
    to manipulate the excel file.

  • How do I generate a data merge in InDesign from an excel spreadsheet which includes a barcode

Can you please advise if the following process is possible within InDesign CS 5.5? (Mac OS 10.8.2).
We need to create a data merge that includes a barcode. The data merge is for several thousand records.
We have a customer-supplied Excel spreadsheet that contains seven fields, one of which is a number that ultimately needs to print as a barcode when we make the data merge in InDesign.
As you would expect, the conventional six fields data merge perfectly - but we can't find a way to make the barcode print correctly within the data merge.
We have investigated several possible solutions without success.
Some solutions suggest a plug-in for Excel to convert the number into a barcode whilst still in the spreadsheet - but this doesn't come across correctly when we import the CSV file into the InDesign data merge.
We have investigated certain third party software applications but none provide the full solution we require. Some, for example, appear to create the barcode within the Excel spreadsheet but don't produce the barcode correctly when we data merge in InDesign; and some will allow us to create a one-off barcode within InDesign but have no automated way of retrieving the thousands of Excel numbers and turning them into barcodes.
We have also come across possible 'font' solutions but have had no success with these either.
For a previous job we needed to produce we outsourced to a specialist mailing company, who assured us they produced the whole job (very quickly) within InDesign. They, understandably, won't tell us how they did it. But, given the speed with which they produced the job for us, we imagine - with the correct software - the whole process is easy to do.
    Can you please advise?

    HI MIKE
Thanks again for your reply and your help with this.
I've downloaded the barcode font from the link you supplied.
I've tried three tests - and seem much closer to getting what we need. But I've come up against a couple of issues.
TEST 1 - almost just to see if the downloaded font worked, I simply data merged our source csv file and applied the downloaded barcode font to the serial number in ID. Probably unsurprisingly, this produced a perfectly printed barcode - that wouldn't scan.
TEST 2 - I manually added asterisks before and after the serial number in the first couple of fields and then tried the same process as TEST 1. It produced a perfectly printed barcode which this time DID scan correctly - but obviously the barcode had asterisks on it which I don't want. I just want the serial number. And with thousands of serial numbers we need the addition of the asterisks to happen automatically (which is where your text editor process seems the perfect solution, if we could get that to work).
TEST 3 - Noting your comments about using parenthesis around the serial number, I followed your example of (123456). But Excel won't let me type a parenthesis. It lets me type the parenthesis but then instantly substitutes it with a - (hyphen) before the number in the actual serial number cell and no character at all after the number.
If you have any suggestions or solutions for any of the above they'd be gratefully received! Thanks again for all your help with this.
    Kind regards
    Rob

  • Cannot Edit Embedded Excel SpreadSheets

There is a user at our company who cannot open Excel 2010 spreadsheets that have been embedded into Word 2010 documents. Sometimes the embedded Excel Spreadsheet will open with a Picture Tools menu ribbon. Other times he gets an error
message that Excel is not installed on his computer. When other users open the same embedded objects on their computers they do not have any problems. I have replaced his computer but the problem continues with the new computer. I have also logged onto his
computer with a different user account and I do not have a problem opening the embedded Excel spreadsheets. The user has Administrator rights on his own computer. We all have Windows 7 Enterprise and Office 2010 Professional Plus installed on our computers.
Thanks in advance for any assistance with this issue.

    Hi,
    Try this:
    ============
    1.
    Go to Excel.
    2.
    Click File > Options >

  • Need to Merge Excel Spreadsheet data with Word Disposition Sheet

I work for a Medical Devices manufacturer, and in order to keep track of our failures, we enter data into an Excel Spreadsheet and then print out a Disposition form containing similar information, which then gets attached to the Device folder. I would like
a way to cut down the time, by entering the info only once (Via Word, Excel, Access), and having specific info copied to a new field in the existing Spreadsheet and a new Word Document. What is the best way to do this?
    Thanks

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to enter the info with one of the Excel/Word/Access, the similar info will auto fill to the other Office documents. If it is correct, your required need some macro via VBA code. If you have further

  • Problem with embedded excel spreadsheet in Word document.

I am having trouble with a word document that has an embedded excel spreadsheet in it.  If you double click on the spreadsheet to edit it, the following error message appears:
"The program used to create this object is Excel.  That program is not installed on your computer.  To edit this object, you must install a program that can open the object."
I know that Excel is installed on the PC.  The PC is running Windows XP SP3 x86 and Office Professional Plus 2007.  I have tried editing the spreadsheet on a PC running Windows 7
Pro x64 with the same version of office and it works just fine.  I cannot find any differences in the setting between the two so I do not know why it works one place but not the other.
    Any ideas?

If you double click on an Excel file in Windows Explorer, does Excel startup?  If not, right click on such a File and used the Open with item to set Excel as the default program for opening such files.
If you need to do that, it may also overcome the issue with the embedded worksheet.
    Hope this helps.

    Origami?
You can transfer the excel spreadsheet in to a .csv file and import to Outlook.
Or use desktop manager (see link below)
Do you have these numbers on another device?
What version of Windows, Outlook, desktop manager etc. are you using?

  • Excel spreadsheet prints incorrectly--lacks grids, some colors--Pixma MX922

I can't print an Excel Spreadsheet correctly to my Canon Pixma MX922. It comes out lacking borders and lacking some of the colors, even though in print preview it looks perfect. I am using Microsoft Excel 2013 and Windows 7. I just reinstalled the printer driver but this didn't help. I CAN print out photos correctly, but if they are part of a spreadsheet, they print lacking colors, too. Any advice?
    Thanks,

Thanks for taking the time to reply, John, but that's not the problem. I have gridlines checked. I have done some further checking and I think it's a print-head issue. I'll try cleaning and deep-cleaning the nozzles...

    Kathleen,
No, Data Merge won't do. The context of need in this case is placing an Excel spreadsheet into InDesign; with Show Import Options turned on; with the workflow idea of bringing it in unformatted; yet applying a pre-made TableStyle to it.
It turns out in this case that you have to follow up with selecting the first row (the header row) and clicking on Table > Convert (something or other) and choosing Header, thus turning the header row into a mechanically-repeating row (as in the case of a very long table that flows over more than one page).
You can do this in advance if it is a Word doc table. That is, it can be set in Word before placing. Apparently you cannont do so in advance in Excel.
Therefore, upon placing, the TableStyle appears to fail to some degree until you catch up with the Header Row conversion.
    Best to you,
    Mike Witherell in Alexandria, VA
I'm not sure if this would help:
    * Create the heading row content on the master page, either as literal text in a text frame, or as a text variable.
    * Use Data Merge multiple records per page mode on the body page.
This creates a pseudo table heading above the merged data on each new page. You'll have to adjust the height, vertical justification, and text wrap when defining the master page text frame text wrap to force the merged data to begin below it on the page.
If you truly need a table, perhaps because some column content needs to wrap within cells, then "never mind." But if that's not the problem, perhaps nested and GREP styles could manage the formatting you need.

  • Spreadsheet issue - Appleworks or iWork

I am contemplating buying a MBP.
However I'm confused and concerned about the spreadsheet issue - an apparent lacking in the bundled stuff that comes with the MBP.
I use a spreadsheet - not extensively but I do use the financial formulas etc. These are not in the software as I understand it.
Can I transfer my Appleworks application - which is as 10.3.9 to the Tiger MBP?
I sort of resent having to buy the iWork (after the trial period).
Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Gordon

    Appleworks will work fine
Also there are free Office software bundles available, e.g. Open Office which are compatible with most spreadsheet formats including excel I think and Neo Office.
Also iwork - which is actually quite a nice program(s) comes with the ability to make tables with formulae in them - so if your spreadsheet needs may be met, but you don't need to buy those - but you do get a 30 day trial.
    Best of luck.

  • How do I validate a field using names in Excel spreadsheet only

I am new to PDF forms and I need to create one with a text field that is validated against a list of 300 names, to ensure the names are spelt correctly by the person completing the form.  Short of creating a dropdown box and manually typing in the 300 names, is there an easy way to do this?
I have exported the form from Indesign as an interactive PDF, then created all the fields and now the client has asked for this??  The names are held in an excel spreadsheet.
Also, second questions, is there an easy way to automatically generate a second form, rather than saving each form individually.  Basically one person could be completing 30-40 forms which each will need printing out centrally and rather than saving as the name of each person they are completing it for, is there an easy way to do this?
Many thanks for any help you can offer, but please explain simply as I am new to all this.

    Thanks Gilad,
Issue 1# - the list should only change a few times each year, so how I will google how to hard-code it in a script as you suggest, sounds just what I was looking for, rather than a drop down with 300 names.
Issue 2# - the form is a certificate with various options on, which are now fields, and each tutor may have between 12 and 60 to complete and then forward back to the office to be printed centrally.  So, is there a way that you can automatically create another blank form once one is completed until all the certificates are completed for the number of pupils and then save them all in the one file to email back to the office, or will each one need to be submitted individually for printing.
    Many thanks for your help
