Excel Web Service - yet another "Unable to process the request"

Hello,
On Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and
SharePoint 2010 SP1 we are receiving the following error while trying to open Excel document in Excel Web Part. It shows the standard error: "An error has occured".
When exploring ULS we found the non-informative error (An error has occurred):
There was an error in communicating with Excel Calculation Services http://domain:port/cced17b7a4c74d56827ad40c61795580/ExcelService*.asmx exception: An error has occurred. [Session:  User: username].
Error ID is 5240, however, this asmx service file loads normally
by itself (using the same link from error message).
All needed features and services are enabled. IISRESET done a lot of times, even Excel Service Application was re-created.
Could you please help us with this problem or at least how to get more information about this "Error occurred"?
Thank you!

Kindly access the excel service url by removing the *.
http://domain:port/cced17b7a4c74d56827ad40c61795580/ExcelService.asmx
By this you will get the root issue.
If you get the error something like:
"Memory gates checking failed because the free memory (51486720 bytes) is less than 5% of total memory. As a result, the service will not be available for incoming requests. To resolve this, either reduce the load on the machine or adjust
the value of minFreeMemoryPercentageToActivateService on the serviceHostingEnvironment config element."
Then do the following:
Edit the web.config in C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config and add
minFreeMemoryPercentageToActivateService="0" to the
serviceHostingEnvironment element. Afterward, service will be started when there is at least 0% RAM free, i.e. always.

  • Web service returned error: "Unable to process the request"

    Hello,
    i´ve created a small Rule Project to test creating webservices. I´m using XSD to define the Rules.
    After this, i´ve created the .ear file with the webservice generation tool and i´ve deployed the file. I´ve built and deployed the Rule Project too.
    Now i will test the Webservice with the WebService Navigator and i get the following fault code:
    After i´ve read some posts, i´ve found in Log and Traces the Error "No GUID found for ruleset 'FindUser'". I´ve checked the name of the ruleset in the webservice generation tool, but it´s exactly the same!
    I´ve checked the tips from my last post , but the error still exists.
    Has anyone any idea what the problem might be?
    Regards,
    Bastian

    Hi Arti,
    yes, i´ve deployed the rule project into the Application Server.
    The link that you´ve send me is from my last post. I´ve already checked all tips, but the error still exists.
    In this case i´ve created a very small rule project, with one Decision Table and one Rule. I´ve created my own .xsd file to create the Decision Table. After this i´ve deployed the rule project into the Application Server and generated the .EAR file with the Web Service Generator Tool. Then i´ve deployed the .EAR file into the Application Server and tried to test this.
    Do you have another idea?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Bastian

    Hi Mohan,
    I didn't use Fiddler before, I just download and use it but how to see the request message from this software?
    I have logged the request to event log before send to web service and copy this request from event log to testing with soapUI, so I don't think have between the actual messages being sent to your client via orchestration and soapui. In the log Response shape
    I see the fault response in event log.
    You can see
    this link to know how to use fiddler. As I suggested above the error you need to check is at the server side who is hosting the service( your party ) because you are getting fault response properly from them. The webservice you are calling seems to look
    like WCF service too. Your life would have been so easier if you could ask them to have firewall open from your dev box to their dev server so that you can use use "Add Service Reference" wizard, that even they have .NET wcf service too.
    Did you by any chance manage to talk to them what they are getting or if they can increase the exception details in the fault message for you?
    If this answers your question please mark it as Answer and if this post is helpful, please vote as helpful. Thanks !

    Hello,

  • Unable to process the request

    Hi All,
    I have deployed PowerPivot workbooks on SharePoint- 2013. When I try to clear all the Slicers, it gives following error as
    The Data Model is also deployed on SharePoint & its quiet large in Size. The reports are pointing to this Model using Power Pivot Linked Data approach.
    This error is not observed when workbook in opened as "Open In Excel". but on SharePoint it is giving above error.
    May be it is because of Connection TimeOut of Session on SharePoint?
    Please help us understand why is this error populating? any suggestion where we can set Data Load or connection related configuration on SharePoint.

    I would certainly assume you are
    Running out of memory
    Have more rows displayed than possible
    Are hitting a timeout from the excessiving rows and memory
    Or some combination of the above.  It certainly seems like you already "know" that though.  I don't know the actual limits, but... I would submit your report is unlikely to be "useful" anyway in its current form, since nobody
    wants to look at a million rows of data at once.
    Good point. Certainly would be more useful if you cut down on the consumption file.
    Thanks, Tiny!

  • Calling Process Web Service from another BPM project

    Hi all,
    Scenario: I need to launch an instance of a process in another project, running on another engine.
    I figured a Process Web Service was the way to go and I am trying to invoke my Process Web Service method that creates a process. I have tried with and without passing the username token (checkbox in the Process Web Service) to no avail.
    Does anyone have some sample code to do this ?
    cheers
    Tony
    10gr3

    Hi Matias,
    Yeah, thanks. I am testing on Studio and Enterprise (Standalone). I kinda assumed that if username token is required that the wrappers to consume the PWS would take care of that but I guess not ?
    I am having problems with "None" now, on enterprise (see below). I think it is one of those when you get so into the problem you dig a big hole and cant see any way out !
    Gonna switch to using Papi to launch the instances I think :-(
    cheers

  • Calling a Web Service in another Web Service using JDev10.1.3 and AS 10g

    I am using JDeveloper 10.1.3.0.4.3673 and Oracle AS 10g 10.1.3 on Windows XP Professional Version 2002 service pack 2.
    Has anyone called a web service in another web service? I have not researched this yet. I assume it is possible. I need to get this figured out asap.
    My guess is that
    1. For the web service which is going to be called in the other web service, you need to create client-side proxy to call the web service - create a static method to instantiate and call the service.
    2. I would deploy this client-side proxy Stub which calls the web service along with the other web service which calls it to the Oracle AS 10g.
    Is this right? Is there any documentation on this specific thing?

  • What do I do to close eform on screen and display response of web service in another screen.?

    Hi,
    I am trying to build following functionality.
    I want to submit form to a web service through SOAP request on click of a button.
    I want to display response of web service like “form has been submitted successfully” on screen.
    What has been achieved.
    I am able to submit form to an adobe web service passing base64 string to adobe process.(see the script in image#1).
    When I receive base64 string in adobe process, I am able to re-generate document (using getDocFromBase64(/process_data/@inputStr) ).
    After that I am returning a message string to as response “Form submitted successfully”.
    When I get the response I populate response to a text field variable (Out Str). See image#2
    Problem/Desirable functionality.
    I want to close this eform and display the message “form has been submitted successfully” on another page in browser so that it depicts to end user that form has been submitted successfully with confirmation.
    What do I do to close eform on screen and display response of web service in another screen.?
    Image#1
    Image#2

    Method1: This method only works in same PDF window.
    On the click of the submit button, based on the webservice result we can close the PDF. As you already having in the "Out Str", this variable having detailed message kind of thing, so it would be easier if you have one more output variable to know if this submission is success or failure or can use the "Out Str", it self to compare and close the PDF.
    Here i am using "strResult" to hold webservice success or failure using true/ false values.
    Get the "strResult" value from binded field of webservice response and compare and close or display messages based on requirement.
    var strResult = YourFieldname.rawValue;
                        if(strResult != "" && strResult != null){
                                  if(strResult.toUpperCase() == "TRUE"){
                                            xfa.host.messageBox("Successfully Saved the Data.", "Submit Confirmation", 3,0);
                                            //Close the PDF
                                            app.execMenuItem("Close");
                        else{
                                  xfa.host.messageBox("Failed to Save the Data.", "Submit Confirmation", 3,0);
    If the result need to show in separate window and having LiveCycle process connected to PDF via. webservice or REST:
    Method2. If the PDF inside the browser
    Type1 - You can set the process output is document variable, this PDF may contain your static/dynamic message and this PDF. But with this method result PDF opens in same window, host pdf will be disappeared.
    Type2 - You can set the process output is string variable, this STRING may contain your static/dynamic message. In this method the string will be appered in the same PDF window, host pdf will be disappeared.
    Method3. If the PDF is stand alone (not opend in any browser)
    Type1 - You can set the process output is document variable, this PDF may contain your static/dynamic message and this PDF. But with this method result PDF opens in new window, host pdf will be also stayed and may make readonly after submission success.
    Type2 - If the process output is string, it cannot handle this situation, may get the content type exception while receiving the result string, because.
    Used all of the above methods in various situations and it worked without any issues.

  • Invoking one web service from another web service

    Hi there,
    I want to invoke a web service lets say X. But befor sending parameters to this web service, what i want to do is first pass the parameters to a web service called Y and Y will decide wether to call X or not. In other words i want to invoke a web service from another web service.
    Its kind of urget so do the needful asap.
    Thanks

    Calling another webservice from within a webservice does not require anything special. The service (say svc1) that calls another service (svc2) will be a web svc client. So you will have to do the same steps for svc1 as you would do for any other web service client

  • The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error. Event 1121

    Hello all,
    We migrated our Exchange server from 2003 to 2010. After the mailbox move requests were finished we had one that was stuck. We basically skipped it as we had a lot of other things to finish over the weekend. Here we are a year later, the old exchange server
    is gone and so is an old DC. I am receiving an error every four minutes in event viewer.
    The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error.
    Request GUID: '3e46b7cb-2ac0-42c1-98e8-57517a19ee40'
    Database GUID: '5c6c573b-4f45-4ce3-b296-11cf69c2e2b6'
    Error: Unable to find 'OLD Domain Controller' computer information in domain controller 'OLD Domain Controller' to perform the suitability check. Verify the fully qualified domain name..
    I have checked in EMC for move requests. None are listed. I have checked the DCs listed in EMC properties. Old DC is not listed.
    I also ran these commands in shell to attempt to cancel the stuck request.
    Get-MoveRequest -MoveStatus Completed;Pending;InProgress;Failed;CompletedWithWarning;Suspended;Queued;CompletionWithProgress : Remove-MoveRequest
    NO changes. Still throwing error. Any suggestions? I also tried using the guid and shell to look at the move request. Systems replies no such request.

    Hello,
    Please try to restart iis services to check the result.
    If the issue persists, I recommend you ping you DC server on your exchange server to check if your exchange server can communicate with your DC server.
    If there are other DCs, please try to use set-adserversettings cmdlet to specify a DC for your exchange server.
    Set-AdServerSettings

    Besides, please install the lasted rollup to check the result.

  • The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error. : Error: An Active Directory Constraint Violation error occurred

    Hello,
    We have a multi domain parent child AD domain infrastructure and now we upgraded our exchange from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Since last few days, we see the below error on the mailbox server event viewer.
    EVENT ID : 1121
    The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error.
    Request GUID: '93a7d1ca-68a1-4cd9-9edb-a4ce2f7bb4cd'
    Database GUID: '83d028ec-439d-4904-a0e4-1d3bc0f58809'
    Error: An Active Directory Constraint Violation error occurred on <domain controller FQDN>. Additional information: The name reference is invalid.
    This may be caused by replication latency between Active Directory domain controllers.
    Active directory response: 000020B5: AtrErr: DSID-0315286E, #1:
    Our Exchange setup is in parent domain, but we keep on getting this error for various domain controllers in each child domain in the same site. We then configured one of the parent domain domain controller on Exchange. Still we are getting this error for
    the configured parent domain DC.
    Verified the AD replication and there is no latency or pending stuffs.
    Any support  to resolve this issue will be highly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hi,
    In addition to Ed's suggestion, I would like to clarify the following things for troubleshooting:
    1. Please restart IIS at first.
    2. If the issue persists, please ping your DC on your Exchange server to check if Exchange can communicate with DC.
    Hope it helps.

  • The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process a request due to an unexpected error

    Since demoting a child domain a few days ago, Exchange 2013 is still trying to contact it and as a result generating errors in the application event logs.  I had a similar problem which I solved by removing some old migration batches, now I have a problem
    with the Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service.
    The event logged is:

    The domain doesn't exist in AD Sites and Services, I have removed all traces from DNS but this is still occurring.  When I run Get-ADServerSettings | fl it reports no trace of the domain or a DC that was previously in it.
    How can I stop these events occurring and is it likely to be causing something else not to work correctly.

  • Acrobat 7.0 OCR: Unable to process the page because the Paper Capture recognition service unexpectedly terminated

    Hello,
    This error occurs on some computers and but not others. I even tested it with the most basic word document, no formatting and scanned it.
    It works on a few systems but others get the message:
    Unable to process the page because the Paper Capture recognition service unexpectedly terminated.
    Does anyone have any suggestions? Did 7.0 have issues?
    Thanks

    You still didn't answer for Michael the version of 7  At one time adobe prodived and standrad version and a pro version. Standard basically done the same thing as the Print to PDF feature in the Print Menu (of the Macintosh).
    Pro added features such as forms creation.
    Also the exact version number can be found in the about acrobat under the Acrobat menu.
    example for my version would be:
