Excel & Word for iphone 3g

I am looking for a program that will work on the iphone to open excel and word.
Anyone know of any? I have been searching for days!
Thanks

Hey I had the same question. The app I found on the appstore was ReaddleDocs? Is that the correct one? What I want to be able to do is open my email from the iPhone and if a certain email has either a doc(word), xls(excel), pdf, etc. attached to it, be able to open it and read it from the phone. Will downloading ReaddleDocs allow me to do that?
Thanks for your help!

  • Word and Excel applications for iPhone

It is disappointing that the iPhone didn't come with word and excel-type applications. Any insights someone?

    Whine, Whine, Whine.
Seriously. If you're upset because you have 10 years worth of calendar info and 17 bazillion contacts, and you can't use a microsoft product to keep a document that lists the last time your cute little poodle Balmers did his business, then I absolutely envy your life. And you should return your iPhone.
Take a look at the included applications on this thing: Calendar, Photo (represented by a pretty sunflower), YouTube. Of all the included applications, there's only one that screams "Self-Involved Road Warrior," and that's the Stock app (and even that can be argued).
This is an amazing phone that was made for people who don't have their heads up their rears and believe that their lives are over if they can't edit that spread sheet on a phone the size of a calculator. It's a phone, not a computer. It's computer-ish, but it's not a computer. Please get over that, and stop whining that it can't run your highly specialized medical software right out of the box on version 1.
And quite frankly, I don't want everyone creating freakish 3rd party software and mucking it up as bad as Palm and Windows Mobile are. I like Apple's vision, which is why I purchase Apple products.
This is Apple's first phone, and they want the experience to be as great as it can be, so they chose to launch the device with few options. I mean, really, people are having so many issues with just figuring out how to sync this thing with iCal, can you imagine what these boards would have looked like if they'd launched their VERSION ONE phone after releasing an SDK? They'd be 10 times this with people complaining that their iPod app keeps playing music from their 3rd party Polka mixing app. It'd be a disaster.
If you don't like the iPhone, return it. Otherwise, for heaven's sake, just enjoy this beautiful little device.

  • How to copy an Excel, Word, music or video file from my Windows computer to iphone 4s?

I am using my new iphone 4s for 2 weeks now.  I am not able to copy my favourite old music and video files and some useful Excel, Word and Pdf files from my Sony Vaio.  Why doesn't it allow for copy paste when it is connected to my laptop by USB cable?  Moreover it doesn't accept Bluetooth connection from my computer as well.  Then I tried emailing the file, but it doesn't download the file, instead makes a link in the homescreen and for opening the file, I have to connect to the inernet.
I don't know what is happening with this phone.  These are the basic things which a user wants in any phone.  If it is not allowing for these things despite all that hypes and fame sorrounding it, it is a pretty useless thing.  So is there any option to copy the files onto it?  Thank you in advance.

Something doesnt quite sound right here, firstly an iPhone isnt a media storage device so you cant simply move files to it, you need to use an App such as Documentd to Go or cloud storage such as Drop Box or Sky drive to store the documents then you will be able to View them from your phone.
Emailing them is another option and this works fine for all the people i know, for pdf, excel, word and txt documents and most common files but again this is view only.
Apple have their our apps, Pages, Numbers etc which also uses the cloud to store the documents which can then be accessed from any ios device or mac etc.
Finally as mentioned above, music and video's are managed through iTunes, using Apple products means you need to use the tools offerred by Apple to get best use of the device, thats just the way it is with Apple.

  • App for editing/reading/writing Excel, Word, Windows notepad text documents

I was wondering if any of you's could recommend some apps (from experience) that would allow me to, edit/read/write Excel, Word, Windows notepad text documents.
I could make do with an app that would do the above but without the ability to create, edit Windows notepad text documents. But been able to read, write, edit Word and Excel documents would have to be a must.
    Thanks in advance.

Thanks everyone for the help it was much appreciated.
After debating, I decided on Docs To Go at £9.99. For this amount its a universal app and as such I can have it installed on my iPhone as well as my iPad (which is what I have done), so £5 for to have it on each device is good value I feel. Quick Office on the other hand would have cost £8.99 for the iPad version and £5.99 for the iPhone version a total of almost £15, which is quite a bit more than I paid for Docs To Go.
Upto now, I find Docs To Go does everything I want from it, with regards to editing, reading, writing my Excel files. I tried transferring a Microsoft Windows Notepad text document over to the iPad/iPhone, I was able to read this and also add additional text/words to it and save it too. I do use text documents sometimes because if I want to add them onto a friend's computer for example, I know that they will be able to read them because with them having a Windows PC and also my friend does not have the Microsoft Office program on their PC.
The transferring of files from the computer to the iPhone/iPad is done via a free download of the Docs To Go desktop software program (which is both PC and Mac) compatible). You first need to go into the Docs To Go app and select 'ADD DESKTOP'. This then allows you to add a device to the Docs To Go desktop program thus enabling transfer. You are shown a pin number on the screen which you enter into the Docs To Go app, this procedure only needs to be done once.
The Docs To Go desktop program creates a folder during installation, where all the files etc are stored that are transferred/going to be transferred over are kept.
Some people might think needing to use a program to transfer files over is a bit of a nuisance, when other similar programs allow transfer via a web browser. Personally I find that those programs, the transfer is a bit cumbersome and can be a bit slow. I find the transfer via the Docs To Go desktop program is a lot easier and faster than using the web browser. The only downside I can see with needing to use the Docs To Go desktop program is that.. If I am at a friend's house and want to transfer something on to my iPhone/iPad. My friend would need to install the program, but saying that, its a very small program and its not a big deal having to install it. If they didn't want to install it, then there is either emailing the file or transferring the file to my Dropbox account. I forgot to mention that Docs To Go supports cloud/online storage such as Dropbox, GoogleDocs as well as others.
Once the above is done, you switch the wifi on, load the Docs To Go app, load the Docs To Go desktop program. You then just drag and drop the folders etc that you are wanting transferred over into the The Docs To Go desktop program, then you click on the circular arrow button and they are then transferred over onto the iPhone/iPad.
Once on the iPhone/iPad, you can view them, add additional information, when you make any changes you can press the circular arrow symbol (bottom left of the Docs To Go app) on the Docs To Go app and the changes are then synced back to the same file that is stored on the computer, so its very easy to keep everything in sync and up to date.
It is possible whilst using a Microsoft Word document to have a word count, you just touch the symbol at the bottom right of the Docs To Go app and choose Word Count from the drop down menu. I have heard a few people in some reviews saying that 'Docs To Go doesn't have a word count', when indeed it does.
One surprise is that Docs To Go, does not have a spell checker, but hopefully during later updates, the feature might be added. I sent my feedback to Docs To Go requesting this feature on future releases. I expect that there will be many other people who have requested this feature too.
I just thought I would share my experience with using Docs To Go.
Thanks again everyone for the help, it was much appreciated

  • How to add an attachment(excel, word or pdf) while replying to a mail in iphone?

    Hi,
I have 3 of my mail accounts synced in my iphone. While i have an option of sending an image, excel, pdf or word document by attaching them in mail using docstogo, i would want to attach word documents, excels & pdfs while replying to my official or personal mails.
Is there a way it can be done using the native mail application or should i download some other application for it.
    Regards,

I just installed the Lion operating system, basically to upgrade my iPhone. I didn't realize that my Microsoft Office 2004 application would no longer work. I have been using Word for my writing and I receive most of my emails with Word attachments. I have been using Apple products for years, always touting their reliability and customer service. I am not a techie, I just want to be able to do what I do on the computer and Apple always fulfilled my needs. Now I am told because of some operating system gobbledygook, I have to go out and purchase new software to use Word. This is despicable. I see no particular benefit to using Lion, but I do see a lot of detriments. Apple now seems to have turned into Microsoft, making software obsolete so they can make more money and to **** with the customer. You can be sure that my next computer will be a PC. I have completely lost confidence in Apple.

I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

  • Is it possible to recover deleted files from the Microsoft Word app for iPhone? I am desperate.

Is it possible to recover deleted files from the Microsoft Word app for iPhone? I am desperate.

From the Microsoft Word app they say "Access Word documents from OneDrive, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive for Business, or SharePoint" so it sounds like you can specify where they are saved. However, my guess would be that the default will be OneDrive.

  • Excel/Word viewer for the Mac?

Is there a free viewer for excel & word docs for the mac as I can't open my attachments in mail?

I have a Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.5.5) bought in July 2008 will open office work?
Yes. NeoOffice, suggested by another poster, is pretty well the same, but may run more slowly: OpenOffice in its latest version runs directly on Leopard (rather than requiring X11 like its earlier versions). It will allow you to edit and save the documents in a MS-compatible format should you require this. Both programs are free.

  • After installing Snow Leopard, Word for Mac X document prints only top 1/3. Excel, PDF is fine...only word is a problem.

Installed Snow Leopard and later in week went to print out a full page word document (Word for Mac X) and it only printed top 1/3 of page. Checked with PDF and Excel documents and all printed out OK. TextEdit is fine in printing as well. Then created a new document with a sentence on top of page and a sentence on bottom - printed fine.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Since your problem is only w/a Microsoft product, you should contact Microsoft for Mac Support  and/or post in their forums.

  • I need help to decide which macbook pro is best for photo editing, editing movies and doing all the rest too like excel, word etc. 13"

I need help to decide which macbook pro is best for photo editing, editing movies and doing all the rest too like  microsoft office products ...excel, word etc.  I am new to the apple world and have liked the idea of the MAC Book Pro 13" but really dont know if this is good enough or if the computer will soon crash?
    13-inch: 2.6GHz
    with Retina display
    Specifications
    2.6GHz dual-core Intel Core i5
    Turbo Boost up to 3.1GHz
    8GB 1600MHz memory
    512GB PCIe-based flash storage1
    Intel Iris Graphics
    Built-in battery (9 hours)2

That's a fine machine and, with 8GB of RAM and 512GB flash storage should serve you well for light video/photo editing as well as for 'normal' usage. And it should last you for years to come.
Good luck in making your decision!!

Have not a clue if this a LION problem or Microsoft problem.  My gut says Microsoft as they acknowledge the problem in their support section.  Their solution:  Open files with previous version of Word.  That is completely unacceptable as a solution in my opinion.  Why would have I ever bothered to upgrade to 2011 if I had known I need to keep a version of 2008 running on my computer.
Honestly I don't know if it's a Lion or MS problem eihter. I have been using Lion for many months with Office 2011 with no problems though. The earliest version I had on my machine was 2008 and 2011 opened those files with no problems at all. As Dave mentioned earlier he opens Office 2004 files all the time with 2011.
One thing you might want to do is restart the computer while holding down the Option key then select the Restore Volume and run Disk Utility and repair the Disk Permissions on the HD. Run DP at least 2x.

  • Ports in SAP BPC for MS Office (Excel, Word or PowerPoint).

    Hello to all,
I'm trying to find what ports do I have to open to my firewall to let the customer in to the SAP BPC from the MS Office (Excel, Word or PowerPoint).
I've tried to find it, but I didn't fiond anything in the manuals.
    Please I need help.
    Thank you in advance.
    Pablo Mortera.

You really need to go through the Master & Installation guide as Alwin pointed out. This guide will easily answer questions like this as well as the other question you have posted lately.
    From the guide;
If your Application, Web, or Reporting Services server components will be
accessed through a firewall, you should verify with your network
administrator which TCP ports to choose during the installation of
OutlookSoft. By default, port 80 is the setting for standard http access,
and port 443 is the setting for https access. If you require a service to
listen on a different port, you can specify it during the installation program
in u2018Advanced Settings.u2019 See Standard and Advanced settings on page 18.
u2022 Make sure all required server ports are open, and there is communication
between the physical servers on which you are going to install the server
    components.
All required ports must be opened for inbound/outbound traffic. By default,
OutlookSoft requires that Ports 80 (used by http) and 1443 (used by SQL
    2000/2005), 2725 (used by OLAP 2000) and 2383 (used by OLAP 2005)
are open. For information on the required ports, see Server Manager Help.

  • Hello i forget the icloud id and pass word for my iphone how can i solve thes proplem

hello my iforget the icloud id and pass word for my iphone what can i do to solve thes problem ?

How could you forget the Apple ID and password? You used it to post your question. Is this a new iPhone? Or did you recently purchase it used?
If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. No must contact the previous owner to get permission to use the device. If you cannot contact the previous owner return the device to where you bought it and get a refund. You will never be able to activate the device and no one can help you do it.
