  • Excel charts, embedded in Word 2007, strange appearance

I make charts in Excel with shapes, text, varying transparency, and layers. I then embed these charts (Paste Special>as Excel objects) into a Word document. When I convert the Word document to a pdf  (Acrobat 8) the shapes, layers, line types and weights, and transparency all change. Example: An blue-tinted oval becomes an oval outline over a blue rectangle. A transparent dashed line on a layer behind text becomes an opaque solid line in front of, and obscuring, the text.
I've had similar problems in InDesign, where images with gradients and transparencies convert to solid blocks of opaque color. Does anyone have a solution?

Disable settings in Office are per user basis, so it can happen that it is disabled for the user and not for you.
How did you try to enable it ? did you use the dialog that comes up by Word Options>Add-ins>Disabled Items>Go

  • Acrobat X Pro does not print Excel charts from 2010 Word doc to PDF correctly

    Hi,
I am trying to create a PDF from Word 2010 using Adobe Acrobat X and preserve hyperlinks but when I go through the PDF maker toolbar, the Excel charts in the Word file do not print correctly. They come up as large white boxes with a small grey arrow icon in the lower-right corner (looks like a "play" button). Does anyone know why this is and if there's a solution to this problem? Is there an update or a fix? I have a lot of Excel charts in the Word file...
    Thanks in adavance,
    Kika

    Hello,
i am having exactly the same issue with Acrobat X Pro - with linked Excel 2010 tables in Word 2010.
Has there been a resolution to this eissue - it is potentially very time consuming to work around this issue for me.
I would post my files but I don't know how to attach them to the thread - only my second post .
    Cheers,
    slobbering_dog
This is the Word File - the table is an Excel 2010 spreadsheet linked (via Paste Special >Link) .
This is the resultant PDF file:

  • Excel table in a word document coming up black during pdf convert

I am converting word 2003 documents to pdf using adobe professional 7.0 and an excel table inside the word document is coming out as completely filled in black after the convert.
any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks tim

If you are having problems creating a PDF, there are two steps you should do FIRST
Go to the appropriate vendor web site and apply all updates to the program you are using (several recent messages have concerned problems with MS Word conversion, with the response that different versions of Word have different BUGS that must be fixed by a download from Microsoft - and MS Office products are not the only ones which may, from time to time, need to be updated to work properly)
Go to the Acrobat update page and apply the updates for your version of Acrobat
IN NUMBER ORDER (updates are not cumulative so, using version 8 as an example, you must apply 8.1.0 before the 8.1.1 update)
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
Acrobat 7.0 has several updates to apply

  • How to save Charts to a word document using LabVIEW Report Genereration toolkit?

I just started using the LabVIEW Report Genereration toolkit, but I can't figure out how to save Waveform Charts (one dimensional data versus time, instead of Graphs) to a Word document. Can somebody give a suggestion? Thanks!

    Nina,
In MS Word, you have 2 options when you select Insert Object:
    Microsoft Excel Chart
    Microsoft Graph 2000 Graph
If you select Insert Picture, you can choose Chart. This is the same chart as when you select Microsoft Excel Chart.
To insert this chart, you will use Word Insert Graph.vi. This VI calls Word_Insert_Chart.vi, that uses ADO object Graph.Chart and its properties and methods.
    From the Microsoft Help:
Create a chart by using Microsoft Graph
When you create a chart by using Microsoft Graph, a chart and its associated data are displayed in a table called a "datasheet."

  • Add MS Excel File to MS Word Document in Office 2008 for Mac

I am preparing a large Word Document that has multiple Excel Spreadsheets as part of the document. (in the form of an appendix at the end). What I would like to be able to do is add the Excel files to the Word doc and then turn the combined file into a PDF. Is there an easy way to do this?
    Thanks!

  • Excel charts become blury when pasted...help?

    Hi,
    I am using CS4 on Windows 7.
I am putting together a report which requires me to insert Excel charts into my InDesign document.
I am having a problem...when I "paste" the copied chart over into InDesign, parts of the chart look pixelated and fuzzy/blury.
I have tried various things such as making the chart bigger and smaller then pasting, it seems to get worse. I also tried just doing a screenshot of my chart then making it into a JPG in Photoshop and placing that. It worked very well with one chart, but all the others are even worse than when I just paste.
Does anyone know of this problem? I want this preentation to look really professional, and fuzzy lines around my bar chart just won't do!
    Please help??
    Thanks!

    Thanks for the suggestions guys
Well, I tried making it a lot larger in excel and then doing the copy/paste. The graphic itself came out nice and crisp, but the text on the axis i now so tiny you cannot read it, nor the text in the legend. Getting frustrated!
I also tried the copy/paste into Illustrator and save out as a .AI file then file>place. This came out with very rough edges and looking awful. I don't use AI and really don't know what I am doing so I could be doing it wrong.
Sigh.....it seems SO simple, very frustrating!
    Any suggestion to remedy this?
    Thanks a million!

  • Link in Word to Excel chart stored in SharePoint

I want to embed chart from Excel in Word document. Both Excel and Word documents are saved in SharePoint library. What I did, was to paste chart from Excel with "link data" option enabled. I also went to Links window and set "Update method
for seected link" to "Automatic update".
This works great, asking me to update chart everytime I open Word document, which is exactly what I want. Only as long as I have Excel file open. (I noticed, that when the file was on local PC, instead of SharePoint, it worked without opening Excel). When
Excel is not open, chart is not refreshed.
If I go to Client Tools -> Design ribbon and click on Edit Data, source is opened in window and chart is updated.
    My question is:
How can I force chart to update with data, that might have changed in Excel located on SharePoint? Macro, that would open the file is fine.
Making users go thru ribbon and "edit data" option is unfortunately too complicated for inexperienced users. I need one-button-click solution or something that works automaticaly.

    Hi Tschareck,
According to your description , my understanding is that you want to update the excel chart data when editing the chart in the word.
As a workaround, I suggest you can use SharePoint ItemUpdated Event Receiver, when you updated the chart data in the word, then reupload the excel file in the event receiver.
Here are some detailed code demo for your reference:
How to: Create an Event Receiver
programmatically upload file to sharepoint list

    Hi ...
Checked to see how much free space there is on the startup disk lately?
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. Make sure there's a minimum of 15% free disk space.
Freeing Up Hard Disk Space - Mac GuidesFreeing Up Hard Disk Space - Mac Guides
If disk space is not the issue, booting in Safe Mode deletes system caches that may help.
A Safe Mode boot takes longer then a normal boot so be patient.
Once you see the Desktop, click the Apple menu icon top left corner of the screen.
From the drop down menu click Restart.
See if that makes a difference ...

    Hi Mary and Matthew
You might find it helpful to "try before you buy" - there is a 30 day free trial offer for Office for Mac 2011, accessible from M's .com website.
You may be able to use this period to open and resave your old documents in a format that enables you to switch instead to using Apple's iWorks apps moving forward.
I initially intended to do something similar, but ended up buying Office as it provided an easier way (for me, at least) to continue working with years worth of old emails, letters, spreadsheets and other documents (from my PC days) without risking damage to their integrity, formatting, etc.

How do I get a refund?  I have tried to use this converter to change a PDF to a word document or excel document three of four times and it always fails..  I want my money back but don't see any way to communicate with Adobe.  i really just want my money back.  Very disappointed.  Also disappointed that it is so hard to find a way to communicate with Adobe that I have to resort to asking this question in this forum.

You need to use the CHAT link in support to reach Adobe staff. Be sure you know the product name you are trying to cancel, Adobe have lots of products, several converters etc. I think it is ExportPDF you have, most likely.

  • Refer to a Word document in Excel

    Hello everybody,.
I have a big word document and a shorter excel document.
My Excel document has the same parts as the word document. What I would like for example, is to have hyperlinks in a column for each row, refering to the corresponding word part.
What I say, is that I need an Hyperlinks column that do the same as the TOC links. When I clcik on the Hyperlinks it goes in the word document at the right page. But I can't find a way to use Word's TOC from Excel.
Each Excel row has a unique number corresponding to the headings and TOC of the word document (for example "3.3.3"). I tryied following the link of the TOC by finding the right line of TOC using "Word.Application.Selection.Find.Execute",
but it seems TOC links do not work as hyperlinks do.
    Any idea?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hello,
I think that asking this question in
