Excell spreadsheet Telephone numbers not recognised in Adobe Acrobat DC [iOS]

Before my upgrade to Adobe Acrobat DC on my iPhone, telephone numbers in a excel spread sheet was recognized by Acrobat Reader as such i.e. You would touch and hold the number, then a 'pop up' would appear that gave the option to 'CALL' or 'SEND A MESSAGE'. This function no longer works in Adobe Acrobat DC, why not?

Hi Alex,
Please your other thread for my answer.

  • HP MFD not recognised by Adobe Acrobat 9 with OS x 10.6

Since the upgrade to 10.6 my HP C6180 MFD is not recognised in the input devices list of scanners in Adobe Acrobat pro v9.1.3
I select from the acrobat menu:
    File
    CreatePDF
    From Scanner
in the "acrobat scan" window Scanner: shows "Please select a device" but there is nothing in the drop down list!
This means that i can not scan a document to PDF from within Adobe Acrobat pro. I can scan through preview but preview does not provide the same features that Acrobat Pro does.
Is there some kind of solution to this?

    Just for comparison:
    (I also have a MacBook Pro 15" (Late 2008).)
    I recently upgraded to OS X 10.6 from 10.5.8.
    Me, too.
Several of my older programs required me to install "Rosetta."
    Agree.
Additionally, my Adobe Apps, and even some of the Apple Products affect my System such that the fans are running at high speed, and the system is running much hotter than previously.
No Adobe apps for me. No higher fan speeds or higher temps here.
Some other "bottlenecks" I've noticed clearly are that:
iChat loads much slower than it did on 10.5.8,
In my case it loads a little faster.
Battery indicator is remaining steady at "95%."
    Not happening here.
Constant IP streaming (193.4MB) over idle internet connection,
    Not happening here.
Time Machine slows system performance down drastically. When I disable time machine altogether, the system's performance improves by 33%.
Not happening here. Time machine might even be a little more efficient on my machine.
Prior to the installation of Rosetta, the system seemed to run quite a bit faster.
    Not happening here.

  • How to open Excel spreadsheet in Numbers.

    Hey Kids:
I have trouble opening imported Excel spreadsheets in Numbers on my iMac.  I have Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  Previously I tried a demo of Office Mac that has expired.  When I try to open an Excel spreadsheet I get a message to buy Office Mac.  I've tried to put the demo application in the trash but I still can't open the Excel spreaddsheet and get a message that Excel is in the trash and can't open the spreadsheet.
    HELP!

In addition to what Niel said...
In the Finder, click on an Excel file (.xls) to select it, press command-I to Get Info.
In the Info window, expand the Open with...section.
Click the pop-up menu bar in that section and choose Numbers '09.
Click the Change All button below the menu.
Repeat with a current version (.xlsx) file.
    Regards,
    Barry
PS: Unless you have something vital that you're storing in the Trash, you might also want to Empty the Trash to get rid of the Excel trial that's expired.

I´m trying to open an excel file in numbers not being successful. The error msg is unexpectedly error using plugin SFCompatibility can you help me? Already changed the extension of the excel document to xlsx an now gives an unknown import error.

In Excel have you tried saving directly to xls (not xlsx) and opening the xls in Numbers?
If you have a complicated workbook in Excel that uses lots of Excel's advanced features, Numbers may not be able to handle the import.  It does pretty well on basic things, though.
If you're just trying to get data into Numbers, then often copy-paste from Excel is easier than trying to open xls files.

  • Linking Excel Spreadsheet to Numbers

I know how to place an Excel Spreadsheet into Numbers and subsequently save it as a Numbers file. Once the Numbers file is established is there a way to export data changes made while working in the original Spreadsheet in Excel direct to the Numbers file created without resaving a new file in Numbers ?

    Hi Lawrie,
Numbers has a different philosophy from Excel. I find Numbers has a certain charm with its small, discrete tables on a canvas, instead of sheets that are "oceans" dotted with "islands" of data. Numbers allows data input tables, "engine room" tables where the serious number-crunching happens, and "presentation" tables for results.
Happy Numbers, and thanks for the two gold stars.

    Ian

How can I change the default pdf reader from the installed (but not yet registered) Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to Adobe Reader XI? I'm having some hiccups getting Adobe to register the software, but since I set it as the default .pdf reader during setup, things try (and fail) to open in the as yet unregistered software. How can I change it temporariiy to the Acrobat Reader XI that I have installed?

    Anubha,
It worked! Thank you so much.
I'd opened file with the 'Open with' feature then clicking Adobe Reader,
but that didn't do it. When I used 'Open with', then 'Choose default
program...', it worked like a charm.
    Again, thank you!

    Hi joej49728017,
I am so sorry for the inconvenience caused. However this is just because Adobe Acrobat 7.0 is an outdated version & the now the activation server for it does not exist.
Please refer to the following KB doc.  Error: "Activation Server Unavailable" | CS2, Acrobat 7, Audition 3
The above link will help you to  install a special version that does not require activation.
In case you further need any help, please let us know. We will be more than happy to help you.

  • Adobe reader XI not updating to Adobe Acrobat DC

I see that my Adobe reader XI (11.0.10) is not updating to Adobe Acrobat DC.
Is that because they are different channels?
Should I shift to Adobe Acrobat DC? If so, what are the extra features does it offer over my current Adobe reader XI.

    Hi Bunny ,
I would like to tell you about both the software .Adobe Reader is a software meant to view files .It is a free software from Adobe .
If you want to upgrade to Adobe Reader DC (that is different from Acrobat DC ) you could uninstall the present Acrobat XI version and install the latest Adobe Reader DC .
And yes ,they are different software that is the reason you could not upgrade from Adobe Reader XI to Acrobat DC .
Whereas Acrobat ( be it any version ,the latest Acrobat DC or any prior version ) is a paid software from Adobe .Acrobat is required to view and edit PDF' .
It is available in two flavors ,i .e Acrobat DC pro and Acrobat DC standard .You could either opt for Acrobat DC monthly subscription or opt for an annual one .
Here's is a list of some of the new features in Acrobat  DC and pricing policy .

there is some font labels that do not  appear in adobe  acrobat and appear in the reader " appear as  boxes" and I need to work with the acrobat  can any body help

I don't know if your on a Mac or a PC.
So you need to locate the Font cache file for Acrobat (make sure Acrobat is quit) and remove to Trash/Wastebasket.
and empty. The open Acrobat back up and the font cache file should rebuild.  If your on a Mac the simpliest way is use a Utility called fontnuke and have it remove all Font caches.
Font cahces frequently corrupt  as they are in constant use.  Mayb Windows machines have something similar as Font Nuke.

  • Update "file could not be verified" adobe acrobat CPSID_50026

When I try to update Acrobat v9 to v9.2.0 the update will not complete the installation.
I get an error "The file could not be verified" adobe acrobat 9.2.0 CPSID_50026
Anyone got any ideas how to fix this?
    David

    Sorry that didn't work.
I tried updating manually to v9.1.0 but that did not work either.
If I go 'Help' > 'Check for updates' it goes straight to the update to v9.2.0 - but then fails to instal it.
If it helps I am using Windows XP.

    Hi,
Acrobat DC for iOS uses the Apple iOS SDK to display the preview of non-PDF documents (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
It looks like an Apple bug for failing to auto-detect phone numbers only in Excel spreadsheets.
I opened my Excel (.xlsx and .xls), Word (.docx), PowerPoint (.pptx) documents with phone numbers in Acrobat DC for iOS.   The phone numbers in the Word and PowerPoint documents were correctly recognized as such.  In the preview, the plain text turns into blue underlined text.  When you press and hold over the phone number, you will get the options that you have mentioned.
On the other hand, the phone numbers in the Excel spreadsheet were not recognized in the preview.  In Excel, I used Format Cells > Number > Special > Phone Number with United States (English) as language.  But it did not fix the problem.
As it turns out, the Apple Mail preview (on iOS 8) has the same problem.  You can also email your Excel spreadsheet to yourself and open it in Apple Mail on your iPhone to confirm that it is an Apple bug.
You may want to post a question in the Apple Support
iPhone - Mail, Contacts, Calendars - Apple Support
or use Word documents instead for auto-detection of phone numbers.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • Automatically open excel spreadsheets with numbers

can anyone tell me is it possible to set numbers as the default application to ALWAYS open excel spreadsheets? each time i try to open an excel spreadsheet the computer starts up the trial office software. I then have to cancel and choose "open with" and then set "always open with" numbers.
Having just converted from Windows, I was able to set certain programs to always handle specific file formats, e.g. .jpg, mpeg, avi so I did not have to choose the program every single time i wanted to open a file.
thx., same goes for pages ,in lieu of word?

Select an Excel file and option-select (Right Mouse Button) and select Get "Info". See attachment below to set "Open With."
