Exception Broadcast

Hi All
My manager asked me for exception broadcast. What exactly does she mean by that ? Is she talking about sending exception reports in the morning via an email to her .
Is it done through reporting agent ? Can someone provide me the steps.

Hi Experts,
We have a scenario where it is required to combine exception broadcasting with master data bursting.
As per my understanding if you choose broadcast method as 'exception broadcasting', there is no option for choosing 'master data bursting'.
Am I missing something or Is there a workaround or some method to achieve the same.

Exception broadcasting with authorizations

Hello BW experts,
I've investigate a little the possibilities of Exception Broadcasting,
Is someone know how to implement this with authorization checks?
the only option I've found for now is to send all exceptions together without consider authorizations.

Isnt the Broadcasting giving you options on how to do it ie like we have for normal broadcasts in which format we want to send.

BEx Broadcasting in portal PDF format thrugh Query designer

hi,
i have a problem in sending a query as a mail using broadcaster in pdf format through portal
The steps to reproduce:
from Query designer executing a query , it takes me to portal screen, there right click on the report and Broadcast and Export->Broadcast Email..Then a new window opens with BEx broad caster.From that if i select the Tab Information Broadcasting, there is a Description :No BW object selected, select a template ,Query or a workbook. " If i open Setting Web Template Tab: and if i select from HIstory 0BROADCAST_TEMPLATE70 or Stanard Web Template for Broadcasting>Transfer-->then i am getting the new window as Distribution Type: 1.Broadcast Emai 2. Broadcast to portal.. , And Output type1.MHTML 2.HTML 3. Online Link to Current Data.
But i am not getting Output Format "PDF",
guide me what to do to get the PDF option as OutputFormat.
where i am getting these options in Query designer itself Query-->Publish. but not in portal when calling portal through query designer by executing a query..

Information Broadcasting in BW 3.5

Hey Everyone,
We are currently having an issue with HTML files, unnecessarily changing when the files get updated on a website. We execute the job in the Reporting Agent, to generate the report, and then execute Download Scheduler to download this report to the website.
We know that when we make a change to the variant for that report, a new HTML link will get generated.
Does anyone know other reasons why the HTML link would change after generating and downloading the HTML report to their relevant website???

Alert mode in exception

Hi Shalini,
In BI 7.0 there is no reporting agent.
Exception broadcasting is now available in the Broadcaster. Create the exceptions in the query designer and select distribution type in the broadcaster. You can also use additional distributions types (subordinate) and create rules for when the exception report is monitored/executed. Exceptions can be based on single events or levels of any performance measure.

Precalculate a workbook containing multiple query varients in broadcasting

Hello gurus
I'm using BW 3.5 version. I have a Sales MIS workbook. That workbook is having four tab pages for regions north, east, west south. I have one single user entry variable for region characteristics. And while saving the workbook I say "Save & reuse the variables". Now user wants to broadcast the workbook in the same fashion. But Broadcast settings only accommodate for 1 variant for precalculation. He is not interested in having 4 mails for 4 regions. Has anyone figured out a way to precalculate a workbook containing multiple query varients?

I have the same issue as well. We have upgraded to 7.0, but still running 3.5 queries and 3.5 bex tools except broadcaster. We are using Broadcaster 7.0 and Analyzer 3.5. How do you get all the queries to refresh using the variant?
When the query properties are set to just 'Refresh query when opening workbook' it will not execute in the Broadcaster (7.0) - Error: u201CSpecify a value for variable Period/Fiscal Year (Interval Entry, Required)"
When I select the box for 'Save and reuse variable values' and execute through the Broadcaster (with a variant) it run the first, active sheet with the variant but the other sheets reuse the values that were used when saving the favorite.
How can I get the Broadcaster to refresh all queries in the workbook using the variant ?? Again, we are on Broadcaster/Precalc 7.0 and Analyzer/queries are 3.5

Manually Executing Information Broadcasting

Dear all experts,
I have a requirement to send an email to related reponsible persons, when there is unwanted data (e.g. value X is greater than a treshold). At first I tried to use the Information Broadcating technique with defining an exception. However, I encountered some of these problems.
1) I want the information to be broadcasted authomatically after the approver verify the information first. For example, if the approver approved the data, and there are some unwanted data in those approved data, the information should be broadcasted to responsible persons. However, if the approver does not approve it, the information should not be sent.
2) From the provious problem, I tried to find a way to execute the information broadcasting manually (maybe by ABAP Programming), after the approver approves the data. Unfortunately, I can't find any function or any class to do so.
All of this is just an idea of beginner. It would be great, if you have others better solutions.

Using information broadcasting u can precalculate and send the query or webtemplate, workbook, queryview to email or portal.
Your requirements is somewhat strange.
In information broadcaster one setting is called Exception broadcasting, but it is not suitable for your requirements(as far as i know). Because whenever exception occurs in your query it will broadcast to mail or alert that's it .
May be we will wait for some bw experts reply.

Recorded Files extracted from UCCX 8.5 using sftp is only 1Kb

Hi All,
I have configured CCX agent recording using Cisco Desktop Workflow Administrator. When I am making calls to the agent I can see the files getting created on the server. I am also able to view these files on the Supervisor Record Viewer.
The downloaded files are in RAW format and are of 1Kb in size. When I try to convert these RAW files to WAV, it gives an error that the recording file is empty. I have also tried to save these files in WAV using the Supervisor Record viewer. The files can be opened using a media player but I am not able to hear anything. The WAV shows the right audio duration as well.
Please reply with your valuable suggestions.

OK - I don't see any packets except broadcast/mcast in that capture that aren't too or from your PC.
What vendor/model NIC is this? It may not be enabled for promiscuous monitoring.
Also do you definately have the PC plugged into the PC port of the phone for network access? You said 'I spanned the ports and ran wireshark.', but you don't need to SPAN anything for this; the phone should send copies of it's packets out the PC port and your PC should see them in the capture.
And have you reset the phone since span/voice vlan access were enabled (if this was done recently)

Multicube Performance

Dear All,
I have performance issue in one of my query.
This query is build from MultiProvider, which is contains 2 InfoCube.
What I'm already do:
1. Build aggregate in each infocube and when I check via RSRT, they found it.
2. Check related master data, infocube and query via RSRV and all object are fine.
3. Setting Read Mode and Cache Mode in query properties.
I choose Read Mode = H - Query Read when you navigate or expand
and for Cache Mode = 4 - Persistent Cache Accross Each Application Server, since this query is accessed with many user.
4. Recreate DB Indexes and DB Statistics in tab Performance (InfoCube - Manage) for each infocube.
5. Check via DB20, DB Statistic for related table (fact and dimension) is up to date.
Is there anything else that I can do? I already frustated with user's complaining in this week.

Are you using BW3.5?
In BI7, under distribution type we gets following options:
Broadcast E-Mail (Bursting)
Broadcast by Exception
Broadcast (Multi Channel)
Precalculating Value Sets
Filling the OLAP Cache
Filling the MDX Cache
You have to use "Filling the OLAP Cache" option for Distribution type.
