Exception in non-transactional EJB invoke:java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
Hello,
Iam facing with the following exception while deploying EJB's in Weblogic 5.1. The TX Datasource is setup properly and the application is running fine, when I have modified an existing EJB and while re-deploying, getting the following error:

As this is a llokup only I have no Transaction Management
Tao,
> If your ejb method is in a transaction context, then you throw application
exception, the container will try to commit the transaction.
In the case of an application exception, the caller will be responsible for
committing or rolling back the transaction. (A runtime exception will roll
back the transaction automatically.) That is why, if you use CMT, that the
EJB methods call from outside the EJB container (such as from a servlet)
should never be able to throw runtime exceptions.

Hi,
The following exception occurs, when the workflow was waiting after it has made
a synchronous call to an external system through WTC Interface.
I had read Rob's comments earlier for WLI 6.1 SP1 on this exception that there
would be a fix available for it in the next minor release. For your information,
I had got this exception in WLI 6.1 SP3. Is still EJB Container's timeout excels
the JTA's timeout? Can anybody help me out to find a fix for this problem?
Thanks in Advance,
Regards
Jegadeesan.

Exception in thread "AWT-EventQueue-0" java.lang.NullPointerException
Hello everyone ... sorry for my English but I am an Italian boy with a problem that is not answered.
I had to create a web application-service (created in Java with NetBeans 6.7) which is connected to a database postgresql (8.3.5) and for connection to the server using tomcat (3.2.4) through SOAP messages (2_2).
OPERATING SYSTEM: WINXP
I have created classes ... I created the database ... completed the project in NetBeans without any errors ... implemented the necessary libraries in the project (also ).... 8.3.604.jar jdbc tomcat configured and soap ... .. and set the environment variables (soap, mail, send in xerces )...... run the application on the NetBeans appears the login screen of my web service .....
enter username and password (exactly!) and the NetBeans gives me an Exception:

I think the answer is, the server that is not the case.
I thought all I thought was jdbc, but I can connect to the database, so I do not know what to do and how to proceed.
thanks to all, and thanks to my translator. :PParameter par = respons.getReturnValue();There is only one possible reason, "respons" is null.

I am using WLS5.1 inside visualage environment. I am trying to run
a Simple EJB which connects to the database and executes two simple

atm.transfer(8, 9, 100000);

ne.printStackTrace(System.out);
finally {
try {
ic.close();
System.out.println("Closed the connection");

Hi,
I have an ear file which has ejb jar and war file. Application is running fine through Jdeveloper but when am trying to deploy it in Oracle Application Server 10g getting following error. Any help in this would be appreciated.
Deployment failed: Nested exception

oracle.oc4j.admin.internal.DeployerException: Error initializing ejb-module; Exception Error loading class 'ge.model.common.ejb.ReserveAccountBean': java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: ge/common/exception/dao/GEDAOException
Thanks and Regards,
UjwalaUjwala,
I don't think classes in the "ejb.jar" file can access classes in the WAR file (and vice-versa). Perhaps you can put this class in a separate JAR file and put that JAR file in the "applib" subdirectory (of your OC4J installation). Then it will be accessible to all your J2EE applications deployed to OC4J.
Good Luck,
Avi. -
AMA Dialog throws Exception : java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
Hi,
I am trying to create my own Search Rules for the Application Migration Assistant v1.0, I am following the online tutorial. I am using JDev 10.1.2.0.0 ( Build 1811 ).

Regards,
SandeepHi Donal,
Thanks for your response. I found an archived version of JDeveloper v 9.0.4.1.1 ( Build 1436 ). However, AMA refuses to show up in this versiontoo.
I even tried to add AMA as an "External Tool" , by trying to invoke the class oracle.mtg.sqllocator.addin.SQLLocatorExtension that is listed in jdev-ext.xml. I even tried with oracle.mtg.sqllocator.addin.sqlnav.SqlNavigatorAddin, but it still doesn't work.
If I try to call one of the two classes directly, I get this error :-

copied to the webapps\ROOT\WEB-INF directory. I've
also rewrited the web.xml with corresponding TLD's
uri mappings.Delete the TLDs. Remove the taglib changes you made to the web.xml. I am not sure what tutorial tells people to do this, but it is WRONG for installing JSTL (or any Custom Tag Library that is packaged properly).
All you need is the standard.jar and jstl.jar in your WEB-INF/lib directory (and maybe an XMLParser if you are using the <xml: tags).
Anyway. That may not be your main problem. Make sure you are using the correct version of JSTL for you server.
If you are using Tomcat 4, you need JSTL 1.0
If you are using Tomcat 5, you need JSTL 1.1

Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main -- Help
I am new to Java programming and I have been working out of a book trying to learn the language. I am working on a Ubuntu system using Eclipse. I get an error when I try to run this app. It is: Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: main. I have Googled it and read different possible solutions, but none have helped. Can someone help me solve this?
Here is the code for battleshipGameTestDrive.java:_
import java.util.ArrayList;

int numOfGuesses = 0;
boolean isAlive = true;
GameHelper helper = new GameHelper();
battleshipGame ship = new battleshipGame();
for (int ctr = 1; ctr < 4; ctr++)
int randomNum = (int) (Math.random() * 5);
locations.add(Integer.toString(randomNum));
ship.setLocationCells(locations);
while (isAlive == true){
String userGuess = helper.getUserInput("Enter a number (1-7): ");
numOfGuesses++;
String result = ship.checkYourself(userGuess);
if (result.equals("kill")){
isAlive = false;
System.out.println("You took " + numOfGuesses + " guesses");
} // close result if
} //end while loop
}// end of main
}// end of battleshipGameTestDrive class
Here is the code for the battleshipGame class.java:_

The problem occurs when I try to call EJB from client. When I re-build the EJBS on the same environment it works fine. Am not able to understand this unusual behavior. If you could kindly help me understand the problem it would of great help. The environments are as follows.

Hi..
I guess itzz more of the service pack problems.
Jars built on the later version won't work in the previous version (service packs) of weblogic.
Try building a jar on the oldest version (service pack) u have and then try deploying it to the later version , i think it won't give u any problems.
Try it out and let me know if u face any problems -
Hi,
We are having webApplication Built using servlets.When invoking a URL ( HTTP GET) we are getting exception and stack trace shows
JSP Error:
Request URI:/OA_HTML/OA.jsp
Exception:
java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: sun.io.ByteToCharGBK.getIndex1()[S
Any clue on this , as why this could happen. Is this because of the application is using old JRE / Incompatible JRE?
Thanks
JosephWhere exactly OAF is coming into the picture for this issue? Where is the URL invoke code?

Java.lang.NoSuchMethodError while invoking web service method
Hi, I have a web service which has two methods exposed as
A and B.
I deployed it on weblogic server (7.0 SP4) and fired teh request when I got this error:
<env:Envelope xmlns:env="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
<env:Header/>
<env:Body>
<env:Fault>
<faultcode>env:Server</faultcode>
<faultstring/>
<detail>
<bea_fault:stacktrace xmlns:bea_fault="http://www.bea.com/servers/wls70/webservice/fault/1.0.0">java.lang.NoSuchMethodError
I tried deploying the web service on another instance and there the method A was invoked but I got the same error when I tried invoking B.
I tried it on third instance and there both the methods were successfully invoked.
The methods A and B name start with capital letter (someone told me that method name should not start with capital letter but that does not hold good here)
Any idea why this starnge behavior of web service?Hi Guys,
I have solved the above issue by applying the PATCH 1 & PATCH 2 of the
BPEL 10.1.2 version .
Thanks

Hi everyone,
Just now i tried to run the 'simple' example in an JAXRPC Security part in the JWSDP 1.4 tutorial but got the following error:
run-sample:
[echo] Running the simple.TestClient program....
[java] Service URL=http://localhost:8080/securesimple/Ping

Can anybody give me a clue?Vishal, thanks a lot for your reply. I used the App Server 2004Q4 beta and got the problem. When I switch to version 8.0.0_01 the things work well.
But now I'm trying to understand this example and creating my own simple web app using encryption feature. From the files in the example dicrectory I can figure out the security applied at client by examining client stub files generated by the wscompile in the asant gen-client task. But I wonder when security is added to the server side. Is it when we use wsdeploy with the model part specifiedin jaxrpc-ri.xml? What is the procedure to apply the security to the web service?
The last thing I want to ask is whether the deploytool bundled inside App Server can do the same things as ant task (eg. wsdeploy with some arguments). -

How to get up and running with WebUtil 1.06 included with Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 on a win32 platform
Solution
Assuming a fresh "Complete" install of Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2,
here are steps to get a small test form running, using WebUtil 1.06.
Note: [OraHome] is used as an alias for your real oDS ORACLE_HOME.
Feel free to copy this note to a text editor, and do a global find/replace on
[OraHome] with your actual value (no trailing slash). Then it is easy to
copy/paste actual commands to be executed from the note copy.
1) Download http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/jacob-project/jacob_18.zip
and extract to a temporary staging area. Do not attempt to use 1.7 or 1.9.
2) Copy or move jacob.jar and jacob.dll
[JacobStage] is the folder where you extracted Jacob, and will end in ...\jacob_18
cd [JacobStage]
copy jacob.jar [OraHome]\forms\java\.
copy jacob.dll [OraHome]\forms\webutil\.
The Jacob staging area is no longer needed, and may be deleted.
3) Sign frmwebutil.jar and jacob.jar
Open a DOS command prompt.
Add [OraHome]\jdk\bin to the PATH:
set PATH=[OraHome]\jdk\bin;%PATH%
Sign the files, and check the output for success:
[OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\frmwebutil.jar
[OraHome]\forms\webutil\sign_webutil [OraHome]\forms\java\jacob.jar
4) If you already have a schema in your RDBMS which contains the WebUtil stored code,
you may skip this step. Otherwise,
Create a schema to hold the WebUtil stored code, and privileges needed to
connect and create a stored package. Schema name "WEBUTIL" is recommended
for no reason other than consistency over the user base.
Open [OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql in a text editor, and delete or comment
out the EXIT statement, to be able to see whether the objects were created witout
errors.
Start SQL*Plus as SYSTEM, and issue:
CREATE USER webutil IDENTIFIED BY [password]
DEFAULT TABLESPACE users
TEMPORARY TABLESPACE temp;
GRANT CONNECT, CREATE PROCEDURE, CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM TO webutil;
CONNECT webutil/[password]@[connectstring]
@[OraHome]\forms\create_webutil_db.sql
-- Inspect SQL*Plus output for errors, and then
CREATE PUBLIC SYNONYM webutil_db FOR webutil.webutil_db;
Reconnect as SYSTEM, and issue:
grant execute on webutil_db to public;
5) Modify [OraHome]\forms\server\default.env, and append [OraHome]\jdk\jre\lib\rt.jar
to the CLASSPATH entry.
6) Start the OC4J instance
7) Start Forms Builder and connect to a schema in the RDBMS used in step (4).
Open webutil.pll, do a "Compile ALL" (shift-Control-K), and generate to PLX (Control-T).
It is important to generate the PLX, to avoid the FRM-40039 discussed in
Note 303682.1
If the PLX is not generated, the Webutil.pll library would have to be attached with
full path information to all forms wishing to use WebUtil. This is NOT recommended.
8) Create a new FMB.
Open webutil.olb, and Subclass (not Copy) the Webutil object to the form.
There is no need to Subclass the WebutilConfig object.
Attach the Webutil.pll Library, and remove the path.
Add an ON-LOGON trigger with the code
NULL;
to avoid having to connect to an RDBMS (optional).
Create a new button on a new canvas, with the code
show_webutil_information (TRUE);
in a WHEN-BUTTON-PRESSED trigger.
Compile the FMB to FMX, after doing a Compile-All (Shift-Control-K).
9) Under Edit->Preferences->Runtime in Forms Builder, click on "Reset to Default" if
the "Application Server URL" is empty.
Then append "?config=webutil" at the end, so you end up with a URL of the form
http://server:port/forms/frmservlet?config=webutil
10) Run your form.
If its Correct/Helpful please mark it thanks.
