Exception information

Hello,
I'm having problem with my application. it crashes during execution(Once a month).
the last time that it happened i did the snapshot of the error.
Could it be a problem related to the null pointers..?
Could i discover the code line where the error occurs...?
It would be great if someone could help me.
Thanks.

By reproducing the error in the CVI Run-Time Engine, I was referring to getting the exception earlier, somewhere in the cvirte.dll. In information would be very useful to trace the problem down from the CVI RTE, and determine whether the exception is actually caused by a bug in the Run-Time Engine.
Usually, an exception happening in ntdll.dll can occur due to corrupted or invalid data in the CVI application or the CVI Run-Time Engine. And the error might not be triggered in the CVI layer, due to release optimizations or the lack of run time checking that is performed inside debug builds.
You might also want to enable the following checks for your debug build of your application (Build Options dialog):
1. Set Debugging Level to 'Extended'.
2. Check 'Detect uninitialized local variables at run time'.
3. Enabling some more compiler warnings.

  • PowerPivot refresh error with data feed from sharepoint list with empty exception information

    Hi,
    My Powpivot refreshing error seems to be different from what others already experienced.
    Scenario:
    Constructed an external data source in the format of Http://<server_IP>/sites/<mysitecollection>/_vti_bin/listdata.svc
    selected one table with some of the needed columns in the next step
    Create calculate colums etc.
    Create pivot tables etc.
    All worked well offline
    Upload the workbook into PowerPivot Gallery
    Reference it from a page through Excel Web Service webpart allowing manual refresh
    The refresh always reports failure with the named external data source
    I opend the log file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\microsoft shared\Web Server Extensions\15\LOGS and located the following error messages:
    ASPPHOST::ShowEngineError: Out of line object 'DataSource', referring to ID(s) 'f8939b694cae', has been specified but has not been used。The following exception occurred while the managed IDbCommand interface was being used: .
    Please note in the above message, NO detailed exception message was given. In other words,
    the exception information is empty.
    I checked as many things as I possibly could includin the security accounts etc. All seem to be right. But this empty exception got me stuck here.
    What could possibly go wrong? Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • Get Exception Information from RFC Response Message

    Hi All,
    I want to make RFC call from ABAP system to XI RFC Adapter. I found that on the caller side, the RFC has the following interface for RFC exception.
    Exception
    __Name
    __Text
    __Message
    ____ID
    ____Number
    __Attributes
    ____V1
    ____V2
    ____V3
    ____V4
    Can anybody tell me how to get the info contained by this exception structure from RFC caller side (ABAP program)?
    Thanks, Jerome

    Hi Madan,
    My problem is how to display the exception information on the caller side. The called side is able to throw exception now.
    Thanks, Jerome

  • How to write exception information into a txt file??

    i got a program which generate lots of exception information. its hard to see from the screen, is there any way to make the input into some txt file?
    when i use
    try
    }catch(Exception ex)
    // to do something here and make the output into a txt file?
    }

    depending upon the version of jdk being used one of the options will be to fetch the StackTraceElement array and writing each of the element using the standard file io operation
                StackTraceElement[] elements = ex.getStackTrace();
                int noOfElements = elements.length;
                for (int i=0; i<noOfElements;i++)

  • Sending Exception Information

    I have recently ran through the ExceptionHandling sample project, and I am attempting to extend it slightly.
    I have created a Business Exception object called Test_Exception. Within this exception object, I have created three attributes: id, activity, message. The idea behind these properties is that I can set their values when an exception is thrown. I also created a notifyException method that I use to send this information to someone who is charged with investigating/handling these exceptions.
    I have a Process Exception flow that looks like this: Process Exceptions >> Notify Exception Handler >> Exception Review. The transition to, "Notify Exception Handler," references my Test_Exception object. The variable that will hold the exception is the default, "exceptionHolder."
    So I have some code in an Automatic activity that looks like this:
    try{
         Test.doSomething();
    }catch (Exception ex){
         Test_Exception te = new Test_Exception();
         te.instanceId = this.id.id;
         logMessage("TE Instance = " + te.instanceId + ".");
         te.activity = this.activity.name;
         logMessage("TE Activity = " + te.activity + ".");
         te.message = "Message = " + ex.message + "\rStackTrace = " + ex.stackTrace;
         logMessage("TE Message = " + te.message + ".");
         throw te;
    I can look at the logs and see that te's attributes are being populated.
    In, "Notify Exception Handler," there is code to send mail using the attributes of the Test_Exception object.
    Mail email = new Mail();
    email.recipient = "[email protected]";
    email.from = "[email protected]";
    email.subject = "An Exception Has Occured";
    email.message = "Instance, " + Test_Exception.instanceId + ", in Activity, " + Test_Exception.activity + ", has encountered a problem."
         "\r\rError Details: " + Test_Exception.message + "\r\rThank you.";
    email.send();
    Here, the attributes of the Business Exception are blank. Does anyone have any thoughts or opinions about this approach?

    You notification code should look more like the code below. Because exceptionHolder is of type any you must first cast it to a Test_Exception.
    Test_Exception te = ((Test_Exception)exceptionHolder);
    Mail email = new Mail();
    email.recipient = "[email protected]";
    email.from = "[email protected]";
    email.subject = "An Exception Has Occured";
    email.message = "Instance, " + te.instanceId + ", in Activity, " + te.activity + ", has encountered a problem."
    "\r\rError Details: " + te.message + "\r\rThank you.";
    email.send();

  • Quering Engine db for process exception information

    Hi,
    I wanted to know if there is any API or a simple db query to query to engine database and find out information about whether an independent process has entered into an exception and send this information over to another process?
    How can this be done?

    You shouldn't query the Engine DB directly, but you can use PAPI or the ProcessService object and execute the getInstanceByFilter method. You can find ProcessService under fuego.papi. There are some docs to get you started there. To use PAPI I wrote a getting started guide here:
    http://blog.ssglimited.com/2010/02/17/creating-oracle-bpm-papi-clients/
    Hope that helps,

    Hi,
    I am trying to handle an event thrown by a fatal exception. I am able to capture the event in this event handler method. However, I need to access the PREVIOUS of the exception in this event handler method and am not sure how to do it.

  • Deserialization error of exception information

    Hello,
    In my client when an exception from the server is caught I get the following exception info:
    Runtime exception; nested exception is:
         deserialization error: unexpected XML reader state. expected: END but found: START: messageSearching for this in the forums yields a lot of responses that are datet between 2002-2003... And the resolution often is to include -f:searchschema parameter if you use wscompile. Including this parameter does not remove the exception.
    The exception class looks like this:
    public class BullenAPIException extends Exception
         private ExceptionInformation ExceptionInfo;
        public BullenAPIException(ExceptionInformation info)
            super(info.getShortDescription());
            this.ExceptionInfo= info;
        public String getMessage() {
             return super.getMessage();
         public ExceptionInformation getExceptionInfo() {
              return ExceptionInfo;
         public void setExceptionInfo(ExceptionInformation exceptionInfo) {
              ExceptionInfo = exceptionInfo;
    }And the ExceptionInformation object is just a POJO class.
    What could be the cause of the deserialization error?
    Best regards,
    Georg

    Just check ..
    whether you have closed connection or statement inside while(resultset.next()) loop.
    close the resultset, connection and statement outside while loop.

  • [Fault] exception, information=[object Exit] from C++ code

    I'm creating a small bit of C++ to CrossBridge into our AS3 AIR application but I'm getting an odd error which isn't really giving me any explanation as to what's going on.
    My C++ CrossBridge code:
    #include <stdlib.h>
    #include <stdio.h>
    #include "AS3/AS3.h"
    #include "my_code.h"
    int main()
      AS3_GoAsync();
    // Runs the encode on the data passed in, encodes it to JPEG, passes out a pointer to it
    void encodePixels() __attribute__ ((used,
      annotate("as3sig:public function encodePixels(pixelsIn:int, width:int, height:int, quality:int):int"),
      annotate("as3package:my_package")));
    void encodePixels()
      uint * pixels;
      int wid;
      int hei;
      int qual;
      AS3_GetScalarFromVar(pixels, pixelsIn);
      AS3_GetScalarFromVar(wid, width);
      AS3_GetScalarFromVar(hei, height);
      AS3_GetScalarFromVar(qual, quality);
      MyCode * Fast = new MyCode();
      AS3_Trace("instantiated");
      Fast->init(qual);
      AS3_Trace("Initialised");
      int ptr = Fast->encode(pixels, wid, hei);
      AS3_Trace("Encoded");
      AS3_Return(ptr);
    // Gets the length of the encoded data
    void getLength() __attribute__ ((used,
      annotate("as3sig:public function getLength():int"),
      annotate("as3package:my_package")));
    void getLength()
      //int length = Fast.length();
      //AS3_Return(length);
      AS3_Return(0);
    It seems to fall over on:
    int ptr = Fast->encode(pixels, wid, hei);
    and doesn't even seem to enter the method at all. I'm somewhat new to C++ so I expect it's probably some kind of problem there. Any ideas?

    Please create an issue here:

  • ABAP proxy exception to SOAP fault and vice versa not getting mapped

    Hi there,
    I have these scenario's: ABAP proxy to SOAP (AXIS framework) and the other way around, synchronous, using AAE.
    When declaring the Synchronous Service interfaces we also defined error message types in order to pass system and application exceptions back to the service consumers.
    The behavior we are observing is as follows;
    When an exception is generated on the ABAP proxy, the error message type is correct generated and filled with the corresponding values in the ABAP proxy runtime. However, when the response arrives at the service consumer, it only contains a SOAP fault filled with some kind of generic PI mapping exception information.
    1. Why is the original ABAP proxy exception not mapped/passed into the SOAP response?
    2. What can we do in order to change that situation?
    3. Does it has to do with the use of the AAE - Advanced Adapter Engine or the AXIS framework?
    PS: We have performed a test of the Operation Mapping - OM using the ABAP exception as input and it did work correctly, so the error structure seems to be Ok.
    Many thanks for your replies.

    Problem was caused by some differences in namespaces between source and target.

  • The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception. InnerException: Requested registry access is not allowed.

    I have read some of the other posts for people that got this error, but none seem to apply to me.
    My program has been working for weeks.  I made some minor changes, and started getting the error (full details below).
    I did a TFS "undo pending changes" and still getting the same error, even after logging off.  The one odd thing is that I did change my Windows password this week. The connection string is using a SQL user id and password that has no issues.
    I'm an Admin own my own box (running WIn XP SP3).  I even tried "Run as Admin" on Visual Studio.
    I'm doing a Debug-Start, running a Console-Test-Program that calls a WCF service, which on local machine is hosted by "ASP.NET Development Server".
    We have two other developers, one has the same problem, one does not.  In theory, we have all done "get latest" and are running the same code.
    The SQL Connection is related to a trace database; we are using this library http://ukadcdiagnostics.codeplex.com which has worked fine for months.
    When I do "Start Run" in Visual Studio, I get this error:

    with InnerException: {"The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnectionFactory' threw an exception."}

    I think I found it... this is sure a strange error for what is really happening.
    Apparently it had happened to me before, and fortuantely, I actually added the following comment:
                // Above is related to the WCFLOG SQL Diagnostics Trace
                // If you get error here an inner exception "requested registry access is not allowed"
                // inside exception "type initializer for System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection"
                // then make sure you have impersonation enabled in your client.
                // See AdminConsole web.config or FRB.EC.AdminService.ConsoleTester.app.config for examples
    Now I think I will do a try catch and spit out the same text.
    Still testing to assure that this really was the issue.
          <endpointBehaviors>
            <behavior name="FRB.AllowImpersonate ">
              <clientCredentials>
                <windows allowedImpersonationLevel="Impersonation"/>
              </clientCredentials>
            </behavior>
          </endpointBehaviors>
    The line below in BOLD below is what somehow seemed to disappear from my app.config - probably due to a TFS human error - still checking that also:
            <client>
                  <endpoint address="http://localhost:4998/AdminService.svc"
                                  behaviorConfiguration="FRB.AllowImpersonate"
                                  binding="wsHttpBinding"
                                  bindingConfiguration="WSHttpBinding_IAdminService"
                                 contract="svcRef.IAdminService"
                            name="WSHttpBinding_IAdminService">
                        <identity>
                              <dns value="localhost" />
                        </identity>
                  </endpoint>
            </client>
    Here's how I "idiot-proofed" this error for now, to give an error that actually at least points to a solution:
            public SqlDataAccessCommand(string connectionString, string commandText, CommandType commandType)
                try
                    _connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString);
                    // See AdminConsole web.config or FRB.EC.AdminService.ConsoleTester.app.config for examples
                catch (Exception ex)
                    if (ex.ToString().Contains("The type initializer for"))
                    throw new System.ApplicationException(@"
                    Your client app <endpoint> must be cofigured have a
                  'behaviorConfiguration' attribute like this:
                    behaviorConfiguration='FRB.AllowImpersonate'
                   that points back to a behavior that has this syntax:
              <behavior name='FRB.AllowImpersonate'>
                 <clientCredentials>
                     <windows allowedImpersonationLevel='Impersonation'/>
                 </clientCredentials>
              </behavior>
              ", ex);
                   else
                        throw ex;
                _command = _connection.CreateCommand();
                _command.CommandText = commandText;
                _command.CommandType = commandType;
                // TODO _command.CommandTimeout = ;

  • MS SQL server is going down frequently(10 days of gap) with exception message: "A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded".

    MS SQL server is going down frequently(10 days of gap) with exception message: "A severe error occurred
    on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded". We are facing this issue for past two month.But funny thing is server will be up automatically with out any service restart manually.  Also if we try to restart the SQL
    server service manually then SQL server will be in a dead lock situation and it will not come up even if we wait for long time. Then we should do a windows server machine restart to
    make the SQL sever up. As a suggestion from Microsoft to fix this kind of similar issue,
    we have installed service pack 3 for SQL Server. But even after we are facing same issue.
    Server Details:
    Server OS: Windows Server 2008 R2
    Two type of database servers are installed on server:
    1. MS SQL Server 2008 R2
    2. My SQL
    Also Reporting server is configured for the purpose of generating SSRS report from a dot net website.
     NOTE:Immediately after the data retrieval/save, we are closing the connection explicitly by the
    application.
    we have checked the windows event log and below are the details:

    Could anybody can suggest any kind of fix for this issue? Thanks in advance.

    Hi YesYemPee,
    I have tried but still not clear about your issue, I would like you provide more details information about your issue based on below points to better analysis about the issue:
    What action did you do and caused the error "A severe error occurred on the current command. The results, if any, should be discarded", did you run report on the web application or something else then the error happen?
    If you rendering the report and got the error, please try to provide us more error information in the log files which path like:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles
    If it is not the case in step1, Please try to provide SQL Server Error log(SQL Server Logs) and more details information.
    If you still have any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Runtime exceptions in custom taglib

    I am getting errors of the type:
              javax.servlet.ServletException: runtime failure in custom tag
              The problem is the error is happening in a taglib, but Weblogic is hiding the
              original stack trace, and substituting it's own, which is useless in this case. Is
              there any way to get the original stack trace?
              -Jeff

    With custom tags, each interface method needs to be entirely in a try..catch
              to support debugging. WL hides the exact exception information. For
              example:
              public int doEndTag() throws JspException
              try
              catch (Throwable e)
              throw e instanceof JspException ? (JspException) e : new
              JspTagException(e.getMessage());

  • Java Exception Handling

    Hello everyone,
    I'm searching for a design pattern / framework to manage exception handling. I'm currently working on a distributed document management system for PC / AS/400, which consists of Commandline clients, a Socket Server and a windows NT daemon in java, which accepts network requests from the Socket Server. Communication is done via serialized Objects.
    My Problem is, that exceptions can be thrown either on the server or on the client side and have to be transferred to the user. Error Messages should be read from the database. Exception handling should prefferably take place in a central piece of code, such as the two endpoints of network connections, the SocketServer as service under win32 and another SocketServer as Application on another box, currently with UNIX OS.
    thanks in advance for any answers
    regards

    You should look into Bridge [GOF:151] and Memento [GOF:273].
    Bridge allows you to decouple your mechanism from the implementation memento on how to propergate the decoupled exception information.
