Exception on a select condition in a Function Module
Abap Experts,
I have function module. The selection conditions fails sometimes. Even if it fails I want to carry out the remaining part of the function module.
Wondering how to create a exception on a selection condition.
Any suggestions appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.
BWer
Don't clear your problem.
Your function module is created by you?
if so, you can check the select result of select, like this:
SELECT XXXX
FROM XXX
WHERE ....
IF SY-SUBRC = 0.
SELECT SUCCESS
ELSE.
SELECT FAILED
ENDIF.
Does it what you want? if not, please explain more details about your problem.

Start conditions and check function modules
Hi,
When we apply start conditions to any particular even linkage you will find check function module as SWB_2_CHECK_FB_START_COND_EVAL. However, what if i want to implement both a custom check function module AND start conditions ?
My requirement is to implement both start conditions and check function module.
Is this possible ?
Thank you,
Nikhil.Hi,
You can use both of the things, however its advisable to check all start conditions if you are using check FM.
This is interface for custom check FM,once you have the key value, you can put all the checks here

Select options passed to function module
Hey
I would like to know how r the select-options of a program passed to the function module that is called internally in that program? I want to use this select-options in the function module to fetch frm the database tables?
ShakrHi,
Use ranges in function modules. You can declare in import/export/ changing or tables parameters
Example of ranges:
ERDAT_RAN
ERDAT_RAN
SHP_R_ERZET
RVBELN
ERNAM_RAN
Please see them in se11.
Pass the select options in the report to these ranges or use below coding:
DATA: wa_cmfre LIKE erdat_ran,
wa_erdat LIKE erdat_ran,
wa_erzet LIKE shp_r_erzet,
wa_vbeln LIKE rvbeln,
wa_ernam LIKE ernam_ran.
SELECT-OPTIONS: s_erdat FOR vbak-erdat, s_erzet FOR vbak-erzet NO-EXTENSION,
s_cmfre FOR vbak-cmfre OBLIGATORY ,
s_vbeln FOR vbak-vbeln NO-EXTENSION,
s_auart FOR vbak-auart OBLIGATORY, s_bsark FOR vbak-bsark.
wa_cmfre-sign = s_cmfre-sign.
wa_cmfre-option = s_cmfre-option.
wa_cmfre-low = s_cmfre-low.
wa_cmfre-high = s_cmfre-high.
IF NOT s_erdat[] IS INITIAL.
wa_erdat-sign = s_erdat-sign.
wa_erdat-option = s_erdat-option.
wa_erdat-low = s_erdat-low.
wa_erdat-high = s_erdat-high.
ENDIF.
IF NOT s_erzet[] IS INITIAL.
wa_erzet-sign = s_erzet-sign.
wa_erzet-option = s_erzet-option.
wa_erzet-low = s_erzet-low.
wa_erzet-high = s_erzet-high.
ENDIF.
IF NOT s_vbeln[] IS INITIAL.
wa_vbeln-sign = s_vbeln-sign.
wa_vbeln-option = s_vbeln-option.
wa_vbeln-low = s_vbeln-low.
wa_vbeln-high = s_vbeln-high.
ENDIF.
IF NOT s_ernam[] IS INITIAL.
wa_ernam-sign = s_ernam-sign.
wa_ernam-option = s_ernam-option.
wa_ernam-low = s_ernam-low.
wa_ernam-high = s_ernam-high.
ENDIF.
you can pass these work areas to function module.

Calling a Selection Screen from a Function Module/Method
Hi,
I would like to call a selection screen from a function module or method. I understand it is not possible by the definition. Are there any alternative options as I am looking for the Variants Save option on the screen. Any thoughts?
Thanks
RaghavSince i don't know your exact requirements (standard SAP selection screen? your own selection screen?) the onl;y thing i can come up with is:
1. in your function pool create your own screen with a subscreen area
2. create your own selection screen as a subscreen.
3. include the selection subscreen in the first screen
4. call the first screen in your function. -
Data transfer of Selected sets (QS51) using Function modules
Hi All,
I am doing data migration of Selected sets (TCODE QS51) using function module. I have tried using BDC recording but it is not working in background.In foreground it is giving information error on second screen as field RQSKT-AUSWAHLMGE is not present on screen 1000.. In foreground I am pressing enter after this error its working fine but in background the execution stops there. So I am trying function modules QPAM_SELSET_CODE_CREATE and QPAM_SELECTED_SET_CREATE
The fields in template I have are KATALOGART(Catalog), WERKS(Plant),AUSWAHLMGE(Selected set) ,KTX01(short text), STATUS(status),CODEGRUPPE(code group), CODE (code), KURZTEXT (short text for codegroup),BEWERTUNG(Valuation code), FEHLKLASSE(Defect class)
QPAM_SELSET_CODE_CREATE contains fields KATALOGART, WERKS,AUSWAHLMGE ,CODEGRUPPE,CODE which I need and While stand alone testing of this function module I am geting error as follows with the data filled :
Runtime: 6.496 Microseconds
Exception WRONG_KEY
Message ID: QS Message number: 299
Message:
No entries were found in catalog 1
MAN WERK K AUSWAHLM CODEGRUP CODE
300 WI10 1 DDTEST THREADS 1
QPAM_SELECTED_SET_CREATE contains KATALOGART , WERKS,AUSWAHLMGE , KTX01 which I need and it requires Language key fiels KSP01. I specified it it executes successfully but in transaction it is not there. some FMs contain some fields and not all fields so I want to know which one to use ? Can anyone give me sample code how to use these FMs?Note 381286 - Code grps + selectd sets:Transport request requestd
Note 592418 - Composite SAP note: Transport of code groups and codes
But I do not recommend a modification because the system does not generate request for that in the production system.
This means you can maintain catalog directly without transport in the production system.
Only development or test system ask you a request number.

Passing SELECT-OPTIONS value to Function Module
Hi,
I need to pass select-options value to a function module.
Code is like the following:
SELECT-OPTIONS seltab FOR object-type.
CALL FUNCTION 'Z_MY_FM'
EXPORTING
sel_tab = seltab
IMPORTING
result_tab = it_result
I have found a similar problem in the SDN forum: How to pass select-options parameter to FM?
However, that could not help me much in solving my problem.
So far I have tried to created a structure in DDIC with the following components for the select-options:
SIGN - BAPISIGN
OPTION - BAPIOPTION
LOW - ZBWOBJECTTYPE (my type)
HIGH - ZBWOBJECTTYPE (my type)
and subsequently a table type for this structure which is specified in the "Import" tab of my function module.
Unfortunately, when I ran the program a runtime exception occured (CALL_FUNCTION_CONFLICT_TYPE).
Could anyone please help me on this issue?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Joon MengHello Joon,
CALL FUNCTION 'Z_MY_FM'
EXPORTING
sel_tab = seltab
IMPORTING
result_tab = it_result
You have defined SELTAB as a SELECT-OPTION.
So when you pass only SELTAB, the header line is transferred to the FM. When you pass SELTAB[] the whole table(range) is passed.
It is similar to the concept of an internal table with header line.
Hope i am clear.
Anyways how have you defined result_tab and sel_tab ?

How to use select-options in the function module of import parameter ?
Hi ...
I have created a BAPI and tested in SWO1 tcode , by giving the single value for an company code ( BUKRS ) , it executed properly .
Same thing is working after implementing in a program .
so now it is working for fetching a single company code details .
My requirement is : I want to use select-options in program as well as in function module IN IMPORT PARAMETER.
Program :
REPORT ZTEST.
TABLES : T001 , ZBAPI_STR .
TYPES : BEGIN OF TY_ITEM .
INCLUDE STRUCTURE ZBAPI_STR .
TYPES : END OF TY_ITEM .
DATA :WA_ITEM TYPE TY_ITEM ,
ITEM LIKE STANDARD TABLE OF WA_ITEM INITIAL SIZE 0 .
PARAMETER : BUKRS TYPE ZBAPI_STR-BUKRS.
call function 'ZBAPI_FMT001'
exporting
bukrs = BUKRS
IMPORTING
RETURN =
tables
itemtab = ITEM
IF ITEM IS NOT INITIAL .
LOOP AT ITEM INTO WA_ITEM .
WRITE : / WA_ITEM-BUKRS , WA_ITEM-BUTXT , WA_ITEM-ORT01 , WA_ITEM-LAND1 .
ENDLOOP.
ENDIF.
FUNCTION MODULE :
FUNCTION ZBAPI_FMT001.
""Local Interface:
*" IMPORTING
*" VALUE(BUKRS) TYPE EFG_TAB_RANGES
*" EXPORTING
*" VALUE(RETURN) TYPE BAPIRET2
*" TABLES
*" ITEMTAB STRUCTURE ZBAPI_STR
SELECT BUKRS BUTXT ORT01 LAND1 FROM T001 INTO TABLE ITEMTAB WHERE BUKRS = BUKRS .
ENDFUNCTION.
Regards
Deepa.I have given a similiar example which i did
Declare a
Table type:Z_TT_PONUM
Short text : Select options PO Number
in SE11 tcode with row type eg: Z_ST_PONUM
create a structure (this will be the row type)
Structure Z_ST_PONUM
Short text Select Options Field PO number
Compenent Compent type
SIGN BAPISIGN Inclusion/exclusion criterion SIGN for range tables
OPTION BAPIOPTION Selection operator OPTION for range tables
LOW EBELN Purchasing Document Number
HIGH EBELN Purchasing Document Number
In the function module import
give as
I_PO_NUM TYPE Z_TT_PONUM opt pass value Select options PO Number
Hope this is exactly what you want to know.
So you create a structure simliar to mine but the low an high whould be your component
then a table type and then include that in the BAPI.
Then pass your select-option value to this BAPI when you call this BAPI in the program -
What is the difference using start condition and check function module
what is the difference between using start condition and check function module
That's new to me, I thought a start condition was evaluated before the workflow started, and thus now workflow work item is available. That's why I think the only situation in which start conditions/check functions can't be used, is when the availability of a workflow log for investigation of exactly what stopped the workflow is a requirement.
I suppose the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/en/4c/86bf43feca11d2a64f0060087a79ea/frameset.htm">SAP documentation</a> is in need of an update. -

Select Options to RFC function modules
Hi all
When we use a PERFORM in main program, we can simply use the select-options
as for ex.,
in so_matnr
in so_bsart
like that
without passing any parameters.
This way it will take all values given in 'Single values' in the multiple selection option of selection screen.
We need not bother about so_matnr-low and so_matnr-high.
When we use a function module to be executed in another R/3 server ,
we have to pass values. In these values we can pass so_matnr-low and so_matnr-high only. If the user selects Single Vals instead of these,
how to pass them?
Regards
Vijaya ChamundiHi,
so_matnr is stored as a table, with fields sign, option, low and high.
Each time you add a single value, a line is added to the table.
If you add 'single value' 1 in the selection screen, then a line is added to table so_matnr[] with fields sign='I', option='EQ' and low='00000..1' and high is empty.
So, if you want to pass it as a parameter, you can pass it as a table:
so_matnr[]
In this way you are sure you have all the information you need.

Header Pricing conditions in BAPI function module
I am using BAPI function module BAPI_SALESDOCU_CREATEFROMDATA1 to create sales orders through program.
It is working fine with item level pricing conditions.
But my requirement is ... I need to update few pricing conditon types in item level and one in header level.
Could you please help me where I need to pass header pricing conditions. Please help me.
CALL FUNCTION 'BAPI_SALESDOCU_CREATEFROMDATA1'
EXPORTING
SALESDOCUMENT = SALESDOCUMENT
SALES_HEADER_IN = SALES_HEADER_IN
SALES_HEADER_INX =
SENDER =
BINARY_RELATIONSHIPTYPE = 'VORL'
INT_NUMBER_ASSIGNMENT = ' '
IMPORTING
SALESDOCUMENT_EX = SALESDOCUMENT_EX

SALES_ITEMS_IN = SALES_ITEMS_IN
SALES_ITEMS_INX =
SALES_PARTNERS = SALES_PARTNERS
SALES_SCHEDULES_IN = SALES_SCHEDULES_IN
SALES_SCHEDULES_INX =
SALES_CONDITIONS_IN = SALES_CONDITIONS_IN.
SALES_CFGS_REF =
SALES_CFGS_INST =
SALES_CFGS_PART_OF =
SALES_CFGS_VALUE =
SALES_CFGS_BLOB =
SALES_CCARD =
KEY_TABLE =
Thanks in advance.
RaghuIf the correct configuration allows for manual entry of the condition type you want to populate, You can map your value using
' ORDER_CONDITIONS_IN' . If item level map line number, cond step number of the condition type in your pricing procedure, your condition type you are using, condition value you are sending into the system, currency, and cond unit. If it is a header condition, then send in 000000 as the item number. You can also consider using BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2 -
How to pass select option value to function module while using service call
Hi,
I have select-option in my WD application. To collect data based on user input im using service call. How to pass this select option values to my RFC.
rgds
sudhanshuHi,
Thank s for your reply. In fact im doing similar with following variation:
i) collected range values using get_range* method.
ii) separate low and high values as:
read table <field2> index 1 into wa_range.
vert2_low = wa_range-low.
vert2_high = wa_range-high.
(Please note that in RFC I have taken two importing parameter as s_vert_lo and s_vert_hi)
iii) Now setting these RFC attribute as:
lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = `S_VERT_LO`
value = vert2_low ).
and
lo_el_importing->set_attribute(
EXPORTING
name = `S_VERT_HI`
value = vert2_high ).
iv) In RFC im having my query as :
select <fld list> from BUT000 into table itab where vertical in r_vert.
Here, r_vert is a range defined as:
ranges r_vert for <fld refrence>
r_vert-sign = 'I'.
r_vert-option = 'BT'.
r_vert-low = S_VERT_LO.
r_vert-high = S_VERT_HI.
append r_vert.
Issue here is with ranges. if im passing both low and high values it is fine but if only low value being passed it is not giving me any record.
Please suggest.

Exceptions in Function Modules
Hi
How can I create an Exception in a Function Module and Raise that based on some condition? Plz helpHi Santo,,,,
Look into this link ,, where u will get a clear information on exceptions,,,,,
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/9f/db98fc35c111d1829f0000e829fbfe/content.htm
http://abapprogramming.blogspot.com/2007/06/lesson-24-function-groups-and-function.html
In the function module, you can create your own local types and data objects, and call subroutines or other function modules.
You can make a function module trigger exceptions .
To do this, you must first declare the exceptions in the interface definition, that is, assign each one a different name.
In the source code of your function module, you program the statements that trigger an exception under the required condition. At runtime, the function module is terminated when an exception is triggered.
The changes to exporting and changing parameters are the same as in subroutines. There are two statements that you can use to trigger an exception. In the forms given below, stands for the name of an exception that you declared in the interface. The system reacts differently according to whether or not the exception was listed in the function module call:
RAISE .
If the exception is listed in the calling program, the system returns control to it directly. If the exception is not listed, a runtime error occurs.
MESSAGE () RAISING .
If the exception is listed in the calling program, the statement has the same effect as RAISE . If it is not listed, the system sends message from message class with type , and no runtime error occurs.
Function modules differ from subroutines in that you must assume that they will be used by other programmers. For this reason, you should ensure that you complete the steps listed here.
Documentation (can be translated)
You should document both your parameters and exceptions with short texts (and long texts if necessary) and your entire function module. The system provides a text editor for you to do this, containing predefined sections for Functionality, Example Call, Hints, and Further Information.
Work list
When you change an active function module, it acquires the status active (revised). When you save it, another version is created with the status inactive . When you are working on a function module, you can switch between the inactive version and the last version that you activated. When you activate the inactive version, the previous active version is overwritten.
Function test
Once you have activated your function module, you can test it using the built-in test environment in the Function Builder. If an exception is triggered, the test environment displays it, along with any message that you may have specified for it. You can also switch into the Debugger and the Runtime Analysis tool. You can save test data and compare sets of results.
When you insert a function module call in your program, you should use the Pattern function. Then, you only need to enter the name of the function module (input help is available). The system then inserts the call and the exception handling (MESSAGE statement) into your program.
You assign parameters by name. The formal parameters are always on the left-hand side of the expressions:
Exporting parameters are passed by the program. If a parameter is optional, you do not need to pass it. Default values are displayed if they exist.
Importing parameters are received by the program. All importing parameters are optional.
Changing parameters are both passed and received. You do not have to list optional parameters.
Default values are displayed if they exist.
The system assigns a value to each exception, beginning at one, and continuing to number them sequentially in the order they are declared in the function module definition. You can assign a value to all other exceptions that you have not specifically listed using the special exception OTHERS.
If you list the exceptions and one is triggered in the function module, the corresponding value is placed in the return code field sy-subrc. If you did not list the exception in the function call, a runtime error or a message occurs, depending on the statement you used in the function module to trigger the exception.
When you create a function module, you must assign it to a function group. The function group is the main program in which a function module is embedded.
A function group is a program with type F, and is not executable . The entire function group is loaded in a program the first time that you call a function module that belongs to it.
The system also triggers the LOAD-OF-PROGRAM event for the function group.
The function group remains active in the background until the end of the calling program. It is therefore a suitable means of retaining data objects for the entire duration of a program. All of the function modules in a group can access the group's global data.
Please reward if found helpful,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Thanks And Regards ,,,,
