Exception on hashtable ..

i have a problems
this is my exception class:
class InvalidWordException extends Exception
     public InvalidWordException()
          super ("Word name error");
     public InvalidWordException(String message)
          super (message);
i created a hashtable to perform this exceptoin and this is a method for exception in my hash table:
     public void addWord(Word word) throws InvalidWordException
          String name = word.getName(); // name extracted for key
          String definition = word.getDefinition();
          if (words.containsKey(name)) // check name not already in use
               throw new InvalidWordException ("this word is already stored in dictionary");
          words.put(name, word); // add word to list with name as key
and in my interface has an error in when i'm added :
dictionary.addWord(newWord);
the error are : unreported exception InvalidWordException; must be cought or declare to be thrown
can you help me for this prob.. please reply asap

You've declared addWord to throw an exception. Now in any method where addWord is used this exception either must be caught,
try {
   dictionary.addWord(newWord);
catch (InvalidWordException e) {
   // do something upon error
}or the method (where addWord is used) must be declared to throw the exception.
