Hi,
i am beginning on oracle application server and when finished deployment my Adf Project to oracle application server 10g release 3 , when open frist page in my project get 500 server error and when look in application log i found this exception

and how run this project at embed OC4J on jdeveloper 10g and not run at application server ?

It would seem some Java applications have a hard time dealing with spaces in paths. Try moving your Application Server install files to a directory with no spaces e.g. "C:\as_windows_x86_101300_disk1". I had the same problem and simply moved the install directory to a path with no spaces and it worked. I had a similar problem with my application directory of JDeveloper not being able to deploy.

Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) to 10.1.3.5.0

Hello,
I'm trying upgrade Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) to 10.1.3.5.0. Let me give a background first:
I tried to install Oracle AS 10.1.3 but it ran into error because windows firewall was blocking javaw.exe opmn.exe. I had cancelled the installation. So ORACLE_AS1 failed initiatlly. After i identified the issue i installed ORACLE_AS2. This went through successfully without issues. I'm able to login to BPEL Console. But only after executing opmnctl startall in DOS Prompt. I have installed Windows 7.
Now when I try to upgrade to 10.1.3.5.0 the installer automatically selects destination location ORACLEAS1. I change it ORACLEAS2 where (10.1.3) is installed. After clicking on a next i get and issue as shown in the below link:

Can anybody tell me How to setup the SSL on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2).
I have all the required documents like
1. Oracle Application Server Portal Server Configuration Guide.
2. Oracle Application Server Web Cache Configuration Guide.
3. Oracle Application Server SSO Administration Guide.
I tried to follow all this documents but still i am not able to set SSL for Oracle Portal Server.

The Portal Configuration Guide, available on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technology/documentation/appserver1012.html does provide some very specific information on how to set up OracleAS Portal.
Section 6.3.2.1 Configuring SSL for OracleAS Portal describes various configurations, such as:
SSL to OracleAS Single Sign-On
SSL to OracleAS Web Cache
SSL Throughout OracleAS Portal
External SSL with Non-SSL Within Oracle Application Server
For larger enterprise configurations, you can refer to the Enterprise Deployment Guide.
Can you give a bit more background on what you are trying to set up? Which scenario, what sort of hardware, software versions, and so on.

10.1.0.5 Patch for Oracle Application Server 10g Release 1

Hi Guys,
Does anyone know what is the patch number for 10.1.0.5 Patch for Oracle Application Server 10g Release 1?
This is a Oracle Application Server and not Oracle Database server.
I tried searching on Metalink but not able to find it.

10.1.0.5 is not a version number for an OAS. It is only a version number for RDBMS.
If you are running OAS 10.1.2.x with the Identity Managmenet/SSO (OID Server), & elected to have it install the Metadata Repository database for you, this was a RDBMS release below 10.1.0.5. The OAS patch to 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3 required the RDMBS be updated to 10.1.0.5 first. This is the standard 10.1.0.5 update for your platform.

To find the OAS 10.1.2.2 or 10.1.2.3 patch set, search for Oracle Fusion Middleware Server. Release 10.1.2.2 and 10.1.2.3. Look for the decriptions like "PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10.1.2.3 PATCHSET RELEASE" OR "PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10G R2 PATCH SET 2 10.1.2.2"
To find the RDBMS 10.1.0.5 patch, search for RDBMS Server, Release 10.1.0.5. Look for the Description containing something like "10.1.0.5 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER"
The patch number is different per platform, so I can't tell you the exact #s without more info (OS)

Reports not running on Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3)

Hi,
I've downloaded Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3) from Oracle website and installed on my system in order configure report server and to run JSP web reports. But i'm unable to run web reports using the above version of Application server.
While checking the componets included in above version of Application server(10.1.3), I found that it doesn't have "Forms and Reports services" included in it.
Could anybody please confirm if its the reason why i'm not able to run the reports. What version of Application server should i download in order to configure and Run Web Reports?
I would appreciate your expert advice on this.

Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2

Hello,
We are in the process of upgrading our test and live application servers to use the release2 software.
All is working fine on the test server (windows 2000 platform) but when we try using the alias match on the live server (Windows XP) to pick up the icons for some reason it cannot see the location on the network where the images are stored.
Has anyone had any similar trouble? Is there a known issue with virtual paths on Windows XP?
Also, for some reason when using Enterprise Manager to stop the reports service it is not working, it goes through the process but the service remains UP.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Reports runs in the OC4J_BI_Forms instance. You have to stop it to stop Reports. Unfortunately, you will also stop Forms. Not sure why Oracle included Start/Stop/Restart buttons for Reports - my experience has been they are useless. Note that Forms does not have these buttons.
Sorry, don't have any experience with virtual paths.

Wicket and Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3

I am trying to get the simple wicket application "wicketfun" described at
http://nikojava.wordpress.com/2008/10/27/wicket-guide-for-jdeveloper-11g/
working, but using jdev 10.1.3.4 and wicket 1.3.5.
I deployed as an .ear file but when I try to run the application, I get
“403 Forbidden Directory browsing not allowed”.
I’m hoping it is something simple — does anyone have any ideas
on how to find out what is wrong?

I tried editing this file, but the deployment information must be being stored elsewhere because whenever the application is restarted, my changes get overwritten and the file is as before.
I was able to enable directory browsing view the EM console (it is a checkbox on the "Configuration Properties" page), but this simply ends up showing a directory listing.
What is supposed to happen, from the description of the example, is that MyApplication.getHomePage() should be invoked, which invokes the class Hello, resulting in the page hello.html being displayed.
I have read that OAS does not handle filters properly -- do you know anything regarding this?

Does Oracle Internet Directory come with Application Server 10g Release 3

I noticed Appserver 10g 10.1.3 does not have as many components as Appserver 10.1.2. It does not even come with Oracle Internet Directory. Do I need to install Appserver 10.1.2 first and then upgrade to Appserver 10.1.3?

Nope. Doesn't work that way. AS 10.1.3 is a different release...
Perhaps one way of seeing AS is as a family name for sets of application platform products or technology. The "core" of AS is OHS and OC4J + management, for many of the releases or product sets (i.e. not all of the AS family are or were based on OC4J). On top of that core, Oracle adds products depending on the release.
If you go from the Downloads menu -
You would see that (currently) 10.1.3.x or 10.1.3.1 ("for deployment" - See All) is e.g a SOA Suite release. It also has Service Registry, Data Integrator and WebCenter Suite.
AS 10.1.3.0.0 is a OC4J release, if I'm not mistaken, to include support for Java/JDK 5.
AS 10.1.4.0.1 is a Identity Management release.
If you are looking for other app server products such as Discoverer or Reports Services, the latest release that I know of is 10.1.2.0.2. If you have AS 10.1.2.0.x, you may upgrade the including products via a patch set to 10.1.2.2 or later. Portal and IM components in this release may be upgraded to 10.1.4.x.
Also note that AS patch sets might introduce some additional version number confusion.
Combining different releases into mid-tier and infrastructure services is possible, if you need to stay with the latest features (such as a setup with 10.1.2.x mid-tiers using 10.1.4 Identity management). See Upgrade and Installation guides for information and configuration rules.

Can anyone help me on this, When I install Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0) and patch set 10.1.3.5.0 on Linux. I am not able to find forms and reports container.
This version doesn't support forms and reports or I have go OAS 10g R2 (10.1.2.0.2) with patch set 3 (10.1.2.3.0). What is the difference between these two releases.

Reports run in LAN but not in WAN from Oracle Application Server 10g R2

I run my forms and reports in Oracle Application Server 10g Release 2 (10.1.2) successfully in client server environment. But when I run my application in WAN (our private network between different cities) then forms are run successfully but reports does not run.

when clients in WAN press the reports button from Form there is a message "Page can not be displayed" appear.
How can I run my reports in WAN, please suggest me solution.

This sounds like a configuration issue. Are there different firewall rules that are enforced on WAN connections versus LAN connections?

I recently almost completed learning OAS 10g, I know 10g is now a past. but it needs to learn various basics of 10g. like Infra, Web, Applications server, database server etc. All this I have learned on single machine with Quad 2 Core+8GB RAM+320 Hdd and 2.4Mhz processor.
Now, I want to install all four products(above) sepretly on Oracle Virtual Box Virtual Machines(VM). Can any one have this experience and share with me step by step and what configuration (like RAM,space etc) is needed on one VMs for each product. Thanks.

the case is that we developed an ADF Application, so we want to deploy it on the latest version of Oracle Application server.
our application communicate with Oracle reports (run oracle reports from our Application) as there are no Oracle report products for JEE Application.
so if there are not report service that can run on Oracle Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.1.0),
what is the other choices that oracle supports that can help us in this case ???
