ExceptionInInitializerError on EAS 7.1.3 Install

Hi,Just installing EAS 7.1.3 on Win 2000 SP4 server.Selecting both Server and Console with Default MySQL and Apache Tomcat.Goes through the installation wizard all right until the very end when I get"Fatal Application Error""This Application has Unexpectedly Quit""Invocation of This Java Application has caused an ExceptionInInitializerError. This application will now exit (LAX)"Click on details gives me a whole heap of java related errors. The console works fine if connecting to another EAS Server, but cannot start the Server on that local box, cannot start the service (via the start_service.bat file in the /EAS/Server/bin directory).Cannot un-install either, wizard goes through a few next/next/next, but the description area of the wizard box remains empty until the end, and the software remains on the local disk.Any ideas ??

One aspect of designing aggregations in EAS (AAS in System 9) is that you can enable query tracking which causes the server to watch how queries actually use ASO. Then, you can use EAS/AAS to add aggregations based on your actual usage, which may improve performance on queries of interest. Once you've saved the aggregation plan produced by that, <BR><BR>I believe you can just script the building of aggregations using that plan through maxl with the following command line:<BR><BR>execute aggregate build on database <your-db> using view_file <aggregation-view-file> ;<BR><BR>HTH<BR>

  • Puzzled by EAS install for version 11.1.1.3.0

Greetings, hope someone can help me out. I've been working with Essbase/Planning, etc for the past 10 yrs and am now moving to version 11.1.1.3. Let me tell you, what a change!.
Anyhow, by going through various forums and reading (and re-reading) the documentations I was able to install the Essbase Plus package using EPM. Though Essbase server starts without any problems, EAS server is not installed. Only the consol is. Note that the SS failed in the deployment, this I believe is because I checked "Deploy Essbase in standalone mode".
In the EPM configurator I selected EAS's "Configure Database" and "Deploy to Application Server".
Did I miss anything during the SS configuration or is there another step needed after the configuration to install EAS server?
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I reinstalled and got it to work.

  • How can I install a Designer 6.0 pre-configured repository ?

    Hi:
I am trying to install Oracle Designer 6.0 to my client machine (Windows 2000) and server machine (Windows NT 4.0), what I did was:
[1]install Designer 6.0 client side on my client machine.
[2]install Oracle 8i Enterprise Edition (version 8.1.7) on the server machine.
[3]configured SQL*Net Client and NET8 on both client and server, and it works fine.
[4]install pre-configured repository using Oracle Designer 6.0 CD #2 (pre-configured repository),but it always gives me such info:
" You have not installed a local copy of Oracle8 Enterprise Edition, therefore, Oracle Designer and ODD D7O4 Preconfigured Repository can not be installed. Please re-install this product after the local
    database has been installed."
It seems strange, I did install 8i Enterprise Edition (I even installed Oracle8 Enterprise Edition) before repository, I should have
    a local database.
How should I do next ?

    Hi Zhu:
Now that you are trying to install Designer, your problem is easy to solve.
I think you should download Oracle Designer 6i Release 4 for Windows from http://otn.oracle.com/software/products/designer/software_index.htm and then do your install again.
The install and the server side setup maybe time consuming, but I am sure you can do it.
You may install Designer 6i Release 4 in the following steps:
(Before do these, uninstall your Designer 6.0 both from your client machine and Windows 2000 server using Oracle Installer)
Step 0: download Oracle Designer 6i Release 4 from OTN to your local directory, say c:\temp and unzip it to c:\temp\Designer6iR4. I will refer this directory as installation media. Make sure that you have equipped your server machine with at least 256MB memory. In my experience, 386MB is better and 512MB is recommended.
Step 1: make sure that one database was created in your installed Oracle 8i. If not, create a database at this step. The parameters of this database should be adjusted according the needs of Designer 6i. You will be told how to do this later.
Step 2: install Designer 6i R4 from the installation media to server machine. Pay attention at this step that you should "select to install both Designer and Repository." It is recommended that Designer should be installed to another new ORACLE_HOME. Don't install it to your Oracle database home. Say, to the ORACLE_HOME "DESDEV".
Some more words need to be said here, I think, about the ORACLE_HOME for Designer. Later if you install Oracle Developer into the same machine as Designer is installed to, both the Oracle Developer and Oracle Designer should be installed into the same ORACLE_HOME. So the name DESDEV stands for "DESigner and DEVeloper are both installed into the same Oracle home named DESDEV". This will be prompted to you just after the installation of Designer was finished.
Step 3: print out "Oracle Repository/Designer Installation Guideh from "Stat->Programs->Oracle Repository 6i Doc - DESDEV". I will refer this material as gManualh from here till the end of our talk.
Step 4: shutdown your database if it is running and then set the parameters to the correct values (required values) according to gCheck the settings in the Oracle initialization parameter fileh in the Manual, Chapter 2 Server-side installation, migration and upgrade.
Step 5: startup the database and then check the parameters. To do this, you need to login to database as user sys and then issue the command gshow parametersh. If all the parameters are correct you may go step 6. You may leave the database running.
Step 6: make sure that the database is running. If not, startup database here. Before proceed to install Designer 6i Server-side, the database should in running status.
Step 7: do the server-sidefs install of Designer 6i (that is, Repository) according to gChapter 2 Server-side installation, migration and upgradeh in Manual. In that part of manual, 17 steps of installation and setup Designer 6i server-side were mentioned. I am sure you can manage that with ease.
Step 8: install Designer 6i client-side into your client machine according to hChapter 1 Client-side installationh in Manual from the installation media.
By the way, I should tell you how much time it takes to accomplish all of these steps IF things were went smoothly: it took about 6 hours for me to have all these steps done. And my machinefs specifications is:
    CPU 633MHz
    RAM 512MB
    Wish you good luck

  • Opening any file in EAS gives error

    Hi,
I'm experiencing an error when opening any file (outline, calcscript, rules file) in EAS.
Error message: "There is a problem transferring the outline, error #0".
When i check into Oracle Support, it says the cause is:
EAS temp directory in application server is not pointing to a correct path or the temp directory does not exist. EAS uses a temp directory when any object files (outline, calc script, rule files) are open.
Where is the temporary directory for EAS?
I'm installing EAS with Oracle AppServer.
    Thanks for the help.
    IT

During OAS install the Temp directory location is determined and saved in the opmn.xml file. If this directory fails to exist or changed at some point, the outline cannot be opened in the EAS console.
Create the temp directory in the file system as per the path entry in the opmn.xml file and this will allow the EAS to create the temporary file.
    Cheers,
    Jasmine.

  • EAS crashes while opening saved outline

    Hi,
Can anybody help me out here. I am trying to open an outline from the back up and everytime I do that my EAS crashes.
I have essbase and eas installed on same unix box.
    Early response appreciated.
    Thanks

    Here is the deal.
    Environment:
    Essbase Server: Unix
    EAS Server: Unix
Case 1: I am saving the outline using eas client which is installed on windows XP, by doing save as on my desktop. Now I am opening the same file using eas client by doing file->open->xyz.otl.
This works fine and no issues here.
Case 2: I am transfering the same outline file using FTP from essbase server on unix to windows. Now when I am trying to open this file using the same process as above, my eas crashes and I have to restart the service.
Please let me know if there is something I am missing in the process. This is the first time I am working on UNIX machine.
    Thanks

  • ASO outline 11mg 1/2 hr to open in EAS

I have an ASO outline the takes 1/2hr or more to open in EAS. I have compacted the db and checked deleted members. Nothing has helped. Does anyone have some tuning tips?

I am currenly using EAS installed on my desktop because the EAS server we have installed would give me out of memory errors immediately when I would click to open the outline. To prove it wasn't my laptop I installed the server app on my laptop and was able to open the outline, but it takes 1/2 hr or longer. EAS server is intalled on a virtual Linux (RedHat) server that was limited to 500 mg. I have sent in a request for the admins to increase the RAM available to that virtual, then we can increase the .lax file setting. The desktop I'm running EAS off of now has 1.48 gb 4 cpu. 64 gb free space.
    Thanks,

  • Applying EAS path 9.3.1.5

    All,
We are currently on 9.3.1.0 across all our components ( EAS, essbase, HSS, planning)
I specifically wanted to use the DATAEXPORT feature in the patch 9.3.1.5 and applied to to EAS. However, after installing it says,"Cannot connect to Admin server, Client is in Version 9.3.1.5 while server is in 9.3.1".
I am a relative newbie and a bit confused since i thought i selected the option to install both Server and client in the Config utility?

    Glenn,
Yes i was talking about using the DATAEXPORT command from BR so that i can spool planning data from a web form.
    Johm,
You are right.I did have to deploy EAS from the App server the first time. Do i need to do this again? Also, eventually we would like to upgrade Essbase too, but it should not be a problem for now right?
I guess if i can login to the console and then it tells me that the two versions are different, then i would be ok with it. For now, i cannot even login to the console.
Thanks to both as usual for your prompt responses.

  • Qosmio F60 - Any updated display drivers?

Hi guys, Ive been looking through the forums over the last month and have seen other people have been having glitchy display problems due to the out of date drivers from toshiba, at the moment I cant play any of the latest games like battlefield bad company 2 etc.
I was hoping if there was anyone out there who could tell me if or when a new driver is coming out for the GeForce GT 330M from Toshiba as I cannot use the ones from Nvidia as they are not compatable with notebooks. Or if anyone has any suggestions as to tweaks of settings changes. The games do run on the lowest of low graphics setting but who wants to to play them like that when I've just spalshed out $2500 NZD for the latest notebook which should be able to play them with ease?
    Will

    Howdy
I installed the latest driver for the gt 330m card from http://forums.laptopvideo2go.com/topic/26451-v19716-windows-7vista-32bit-nvidia-mobile-oem
    Follow the instructions.
I found only a very, very small improvement but found that the card reached 80degrees c. the installed from factory driver ran at max 70C.
ran 3dmark 06 and the new driver jumped the score up to around the 6500 mark compared with 6350 mark with the older driver.
Not realy anything to write home about. i have switched back to the older driver because for such a piddly improvement the card ran 10 degrees hotter.
I'm trying to find out if the Qosmio f60 016 only uses ddr2 graphics memory or ddr3. the ddr3 memory, acording to notebook check, should run the card 20% better.
I have my mother-in-law laughing at me because I bought her a $1200 HP laptop on the same day and it gets 200 more marks in 3dmark 06 than my Qosmio.
i think Toshiba may have pulled a swift one on Qosmio F60 016 owners...........Thanks Toshiba. For your flagship model it really ain't that great.
    Cheers

  • Opening 11mg ASO outline takes forever

I have an 11mg ASO outline with 1 simple formula in accounts dim. It takes 1/2 hr to open my outline in edit mode in EAS. Is there something I can do to improve the performance? I have compacted the database and checked the deleted members option. EAS 7.1.3. Didn't seem to help.

  • TurboLinux 8 for AMD64 and Oracle 9i

I'm a home user that uses Oracle 9i for development learning for work. I currently use SuSE 8.2 Pro for my Oracle 9i development on a dual AMD MP4200; however, I now have a dual Opteron 240 system. The only affordable Linux distros that support the Opteron system I have (Tyan Thunder K8W) is TurboLinux 8 for AMD64.
I cannot find anything about the ease or difficulties for install Oracle 9i for AMD64 (Developer's Edition for Linux) on this distro. It's rather effortless on SuSE 8.2 Pro and I have installed Oracle 9i on a Solaris 8 server at work. Does anyone know if it's a waste of my money to try to install on this distro? I thought this distro was considered one of the better ones.

I have Oracle Enterprise Edition loaded on dual processor Pentium 133 with 128MB ram running Slackware 8.1.
It installed with no problems. Oracle 8.1.7 is a different story though.

  • Airport card for emac

I have read about installing an airport card into my emac and it all looks relatively simple. My questions are about its ease of use once installed and the speed it will run at. I am looking to move into a house with five other students three or four of which will be using the internet. The plan is to get as high broadband server as our budget allows and this is currently around 8mb. What will the end performance on my emac be? and how easy is it to get the card working?
    thanks in advance

If it is an orginal card then you may find that the maximum effective speed you will achieve will be 4Mbps.
If it is an Airport Extreme card then the maximum effective speed you will achieve will be 22Mbps which is faster than your 8Mb internet connection.

  • Coordinate MDM with unrelated organization?

We are considering rolling out some kind of MDM solution such as Good or AirWatch or Mobile Iron etc..
The main reason is to prevent EAS policy bypass by users who root or jailbreak or just install alternative mail apps on their phones that can access EAS accounts without following activesync policies (new Microsoft Outlook App, Touchdown app etc or any other
    similar app.)
Many of our EAS users are business partners that already have an MDM solution for their company email.
I have read that you cannot have multiple MDM solutions on a single device.  However, if we use the same MDM solution, is it possible to make this work?  For instance, if they already have AirWatch, can we also get AirWatch and coordinate the policies
    for our domain accounts?
What about some way of recognizing that a device already has an acceptable MDM solution provided by the business partner and allowing access EAS to those, but require our MDM solution to be installed on systems that have nothing.

I have read elsewhere that an Exchange Activesync device such as an iPhone can only be managed by a single MDM provider/profile and this is a major issue for people who access email from multiple organizations that use MDM.
So, it would seem that we would either have to somehow work with the same provider or else have a way to recognize if the device already has the other MDM enabled and allow access and only apply our MDM profile to devices that don't already have the other
    MDM profile.
It would also need to recognize if they later removed the other MDM profile and then block access to our EAS until they either install our profile or reinstall the business partner's profile.
Is there a way to make this work?
If iOS and Android devices can work with multiple MDM solutions on the same device, we would probably just go with Intune's MDM instead since we are rolling out SCCM anyway.

  • Mutli-Core and Multi-Thread Clusters?

I have created Quick-Clusters in Compressor, but whenever I try to encode using one, it fails.
Not sure what to do here.

There are a few simple things that I would start with.  I was able to get Compressor 4 working on all my cores and even able to "oversubscribe" if you will.  I was even able to do it with Compressor 3.5 installed still.  Not meaning to intentially, but when going to the app store and purchasing Compressor, you dont have much of an option to move it to another drive or partition with ease.
Start by installing and restarting your computer. Not sure if this is neccasary, but it seemed to clear out a few processes that were running.
Second, go to preferences and go into apple qmaster.  Stop sharing all services.  You wont be using this anymore.
Launch Compressor 4.  Go to apple Qmaster within Compressor 4.  Click on Share this computer.  Click on quickcluster.  You can then click the next two options for renduring and compressor and then you can control the number of instances started by clicking on the options tab.
Once you import the video and add setting click submit. Select the name of your quickcluster and share monitor will pop up.  The rest is history, just like old days with 3.5.
Hope that helps.  Its a simple process it just took a few minutes to figure out.  The documentation for setting up a quickcluster really sucked.
Oh, once downloading and starting up Compressor 4 for the first time, you should go get updates, looks like there was a patch for some of the video formats.
Cant promise it will fix everything but I couldnt even find a simple setup doc or thread.

  • Install EAS client 11.1.1.3 on Windows 7 64 bit.

    Hello All,
I am trying to install EAS, Smartview and Excel addin clients on Windows 7 64 bit computer to connect the server which is 64 bit on windows 2003.
Is there a separate process to do that for Windows 7? Also what all zip files to download from the oracle website? I downloaded few and when I extracted, I dont see the Installtool.cmd any where.
Please advice and provide links if someone have for 11.1.1.3 EAS Console, Smartview and Excel Addin.
    Thanks,

If it has to be 11.1.1.3 then you can get the standalone installer for the excel addin from Oracle Support - Patch 9147550
For Smart View try Patch 10433469
