ExceptionInInitializerError
Hai All,
When I run my packed jar file, contains crypto api implementations, I got the following error...
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError: java.lang.Secu
rityException: Cannot set up certs for trusted CAs
at javax.crypto.b.<clinit>([DashoPro-V1.2-120198])
at javax.crypto.Cipher.getInstance([DashoPro-V1.2-120198])
at crypto1.main(Container.java:24)
Can any one know the reason and solution, please help me...
Siva
Hai All,
I solved the problem with my colleages help. I just included all the support .jar files inside the package (sunjce_provider.jar, jce1_2_1.jar, local_policy.jar, US_export_policy.jar). Then that is working okay..
Thanks u very much for ur attention.
With Regards
Siva

Getting ExceptionInInitializerError while calling a java class from db
Hi,
I have a class file working fine outside db. When I load that through loadjava and call it through pl/sql function, I get ExceptionInInitializerError.
Do you have any idea why this happens?
I am trying to login into a third party server in this class file. The error is caught at the statement I am sending the username/password and host name.
thanks,
SetarehSetareh,
Here is an excerpt from the javadoc for ExceptionInInitializer:
Signals that an unexpected exception has occurred in a static initializer
or the initializer for a static variable.
Before running your function in SQL*Plus, do the following:
set serveroutput on size 1000000
exec DBMS_JAVA.SET_OUTPUT(1000000)Then you may get more information. If you don't then you may find more details in the Oracle log files in the "bdump" destination. The following query will tell you where that is:
select VALUE
from V$PARAMETER
where NAME = 'background_dump_dest'Then, if you are still having trouble, post the entire error message and stack trace, as well as your java code.
Good Luck,
Avi. -

ExceptionInInitializerError & Xerces
I have the following codes to parse xml using xerces and I think when I have line #2
and line #3 I got ExceptionInInitializerError as shown bellow. The error message
is not very helpful, could anyone give me some ideas why I got this error?
I also notice when includes all the xerces files in my jar file I had no error, but if
I let JBuilder's deployment wizard to include only files that are necessary, I got
the error but the error message does not give me any ideas which files I am missing.

ExceptionInInitializerError on EAS 7.1.3 Install
Hi,Just installing EAS 7.1.3 on Win 2000 SP4 server.Selecting both Server and Console with Default MySQL and Apache Tomcat.Goes through the installation wizard all right until the very end when I get"Fatal Application Error""This Application has Unexpectedly Quit""Invocation of This Java Application has caused an ExceptionInInitializerError. This application will now exit (LAX)"Click on details gives me a whole heap of java related errors.The console works fine if connecting to another EAS Server, but cannot start the Server on that local box, cannot start the service (via the start_service.bat file in the /EAS/Server/bin directory).Cannot un-install either, wizard goes through a few next/next/next, but the description area of the wizard box remains empty until the end, and the software remains on the local disk.Any ideas ??
One aspect of designing aggregations in EAS (AAS in System 9) is that you can enable query tracking which causes the server to watch how queries actually use ASO. Then, you can use EAS/AAS to add aggregations based on your actual usage, which may improve performance on queries of interest. Once you've saved the aggregation plan produced by that, <BR><BR>I believe you can just script the building of aggregations using that plan through maxl with the following command line:<BR><BR>execute aggregate build on database <your-db> using view_file <aggregation-view-file> ;<BR><BR>HTH<BR>

Java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
I am trying to create a link to another system from an existing application developed on Oracle9i JDeveloper 9.0.2.822 using java version 1.3.1_02.
This uses an API provided by the Vendor of the target system (webMethods 6.1) which uses the entrust libraries.
I have successfully created a client class which successfully connects to the target system and returns data when run as a standalone class.

Any ideas why this happening?I've managed to fix this myself now.
It turned out to be a classpath issue. The J2EE application cannot find 'com.wm.app.b2b.client.Context' when it tries to create an istance of it.
I resolved it by putting the client.jar and entrust folder in the the $JAVA_HOME\jre\lib\ext folder instead of ..\WEB-INF\lib.
The following document is very revealing:

Thanks,
RamPrasad,
It's one thing not to have to modify the security policy on the server,
but on a client and applets have even bigger restrictions this might
very well be the only way since the default applet restrictions would
not allow a lot of permissions granted by default for normal Java
applications.

Ram,
You are missing a permission grant in your policy file and the
SecurityManager doesn't allow the code to read that property.
You have either configured a different security manager or have the
wrong file in use.
For applets this file might be in the user's home directory and named
.java.policy
you need to have the following line somethere in it:
grant {
permission java.util.PropertyPermission "*", "read,write";
Which will allow any applet to read and write any JVM property.
Look at Java permissions is you need more info:

This is a WLS bug. You shouldn't have to modify security policy.
Please approach support for a fix.

11g r 1.2 throws - ExceptionInInitializerError
We use a simple sayhello ejb 3.0 bean to test connections to a appserver. We just upgraded from 11g1.1.1 to 1.2
When connect to a WL server we have no problem but we also have apps running under Glassfish- v2.1.1 ((v2.1 Patch06)(9.1_02 Patch12)) (build b31g-fcs).
The context we are using is as follows:
Properties p1 = new Properties();
p1.put("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialHost", "192.168.0.115");
p1.put("org.omg.CORBA.ORBInitialPort", "3700");
InitialContext ctx = new InitialContext(p1);
Is there something different in 11G r1.2 that we need to take into account inorder for this to work?
The connection using 11G r1.1.1 works fine but version 11G r1.2 has the exception shown below.

Java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError Issue
Previous problem fixed: Thank you. How about this attached problem:
Note: I am able to "refresh" database schema fine, using the same
properties file. So I know there are no connectivity or config issues.
Thanks!

Fred, thanks for your quick response.
I have double checked:
javax/xml/transform/TransformerFactoryConfiguratinException.class is in my
classpath. All javax classes are available under my WEB-INF/classes (had
to unjar them bcz I was getting package sealed errors otherwise).
Any ideas?
Thanks! -

Urgent Help:java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError in JasperReports
the following is the java code:
Map params = new HashMap();
params.put("order_type", "This is Test Print");
JRXmlDataSource ds = new JRXmlDataSource(outXML, "/Order");
InputStream is =Class.forName( "com.w3c.dom.Document").getResourceAsStream
"/TestPrint.jasper");
net.sf.jasperreports.engine.JasperPrint jp =
JasperFillManager.fillReport(is, params, ds);
JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdf(jp);
i reckon iam getting this error in the above highlighted code...
i have all the necessary jars in weblogic's classpath!!
just a thought...is this because of any mismatch in the jar version?
on refreshing the page the cause becomes java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
ANY POINTERS TO WHY THIS IS HAPPENING???

My best guess is that you did not include some required library in the
runtime "required libraries" for your project. My first guess is that
you missed the JDO library jar, since missing that would certainly
result in an ExceptionInInitializerError when loading your persistent
classes.
You might also run the program in the debugger and see if you get a more
telling stack trace.

Hello all,
I am currently developing a webapp using Kodo-2.5.3, MySQL-DB, JBuilder9,
Tomcat4.1.
Everything worked as expected until I have been running the Metadata tool
and Schematool from within JBuilder for a new class.
After doing this , when I attempt to run the webapp from within JBuilder,
the build process stops with the following message displayed in the
build-panel of JBuilder: java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
Since I have no further indication of what causes the problem (Filename,
location, Stacktrace, etc.) I really don't know how to proceed. The only
thing that I can see by looking at the kodo msg panel is, that Kodo did not
parse all the persistent classes.
Can anybody tell me how this problem could be tracked down?
Is there any log-file I could have a look at?
Thanks in advance for your help.
