Excess schedule is getting generated in Mrp.

Hi Gurus,
Excess schedule is getting generated although enough stock is available to cover the requirement why the requirement are getting generated
Mrp 2 lot size is weekly lot size
Minimum lot size 10
Covrage profile of 20
what is the effect of coverage profile 20 can any body tell me.

Dear Sandeep,
Coverage profile is used for dynamic safety stock. As safety stock can be define manualy in master data. But by assigning coverage profile system automatically generate requirement of safety stock on the basis of no. of days, no of period and target days. System calculate safety stock by given below formula.
Dynamic Safety Stock= Average Daily Requirement * Range Of Coverage
Average Daily Requirement =
(Requirements in the specified periods) / (Number of periods * No. of days per period)

Schedule lines are not getting generated during MRP Run. I have maiantained source list for the material with proper validity date and also maintained scheduling agreement . MRP relevvant Indicator , I have marked - 2 which means -Record relevant to MRP. Sched. lines generated automatically.
Still I am not able to get schedule lines and instead of that *Purchase Requisitions* are getting generated.
Can any one help me and suggest me what to be done in this case .

In transaction OMDT you have to enable the indicator create schedule lines
In MD02 MRP control Prameter here select the Delivery schedules -3- Schedule line. Processing Key as NETCH and Planning Mode - 3 delted and recreated.
Maintain source list ME01, in that put MRP indicator as '2' i.e. schedule lines via MRP.Put your agreement no in that.
If u run MRP properly u will get schedule lines automatically in ME38.
Make the schedule agreement, make it source relevent in the source list make is FIX and MRP indicator as 3.

Schedule lines not generated after MRP run

Dear All,
I am trying to create Schedule lines through MRP run , but instead system creates MRP element PRqRel and its PurRqs when i check in MD04 , the following are the prerequisite i done before MRP run , but still Schedule lines are not generating.
1.activated checkbox source list in material master.,Procurement type is F, MRP type PD , lot size MB , marked JIT Scheduling indicator as 1 in Pur view of material master , no MRP group is used in our process.
2.Maintained Inforecord.
3.Maintained source list for the material and marked MRP relevant as 2. Validity also checked.
4. Quota arrangement for this vendor only.
5. Created New scheduling agreement.
6. Material is not sent for subcontracting.
7. Ran MD02 with following parameters ,
Processing key NETCH Net Change in Total Horizon
Create purchase req. 1 Purchase requisitions in opening period
Delivery schedules 3 Schedule lines
Create MRP list 1 MRP list
Planning mode 3 Adapt planning data (normal mode)
Please let me know if i am missing something

Hello Experts,
While running MRP, we observed that the system is creating PR instead of schedule lines, although all the necessary prerequistes to generate schedule lines through MRP are maintained. For e.g.
1. MRP Schedule line relevant indicator '2' is maintained in the Source List.
2. Sch. Agreement dates and Source List validity dates are same.etc...
Further after some analysis, we observed that if we change the source list validity from date to some back date then system is creating correct schedule lines.
Example: Material M1; Planned delivery time 7 days; GR processing time 5 days; MRP Type PD; Lot Size WB;
SA validity dates - 07.09.2011 to 31.12.2011
Source List validity dates - 07.09.2011 to 31.12.2011
If MRP run on 12.09.2011 and source list dates are retain same as mentioned above, system creates the PR.
If MRP run on 12.09.2011 and source list dates changes to 05.09.2011 to 31.12.2011, system creates the schedule lines.
Could you please let us know, why the system behave like this?

Schedule Lines are not getting generated after MRP run.

I have an issue where a SA exists for the parent material with item category L (subcontracting). The parent material has a valid BOM and some sub components as well. I see in CS03 that BOM is fine with validity dates for the parent material. A valid source list also exists for the parent material where SA is present as the source of supply with MRP indicator as 2. Now when i run MRP for the parent material using MD02 (NETCH), with indicators as below:
Create pur.req. 2
Schedule lines 3
Create MRP list 1
Planning mode 1
i don't see any schedule lines in MD04. Instead it creates a PR that too without any source of supply.
In master data for the parent material MRP type is PD with Procurement type F and special procurement key 30. I have checked and every thing seems to be fine still MRP run doesn't create schedule lines.
Any help is appreciated. I can give more info if required.

Scheduling agreement:An outline agreement against which materials are procured at a series of
predefined points in time over a certain period.
1.For this you have to first use ME31L for creating scheduling agreement and then ME38 for maintaining scheduling agreemnet
schedule.
2.Ensure in the source list after maintaining the material,vendor combination the setting for MRP relevancy is set to 2 - Record
relevant to MRP,Schedule line generated automatically.
Moreover you have to use value 3 for delivery schedule line which is one of the MRP control parameter while taking MRP run.
So for the materials for which scheduling agreement exists,schedule lines will be generated.
Check and revert back.

After being thru with your query,i would like to reply your ultimate question"I want delivery schedules based on MRP Type PD"
Simple answer:put parameter 'delivery schedule line' as '3'(schedule lines in opening period) without simulation mode.
Please make sure you don't make any change with previous settings(custom)
please get it done and revert.

Demand not getting generated on MRP run.

Hi All ,
We have an trouble ticket. For a particular sales order , the user has run the MRP , but no planned order is generated . So she cannot convert the planned order to production order .
When she tries to create a production order with T-code CO01 , She gets the error message ," Sales order does not allow Make to Order production"
Diagnosis :- Sales order entered is not to be included in Make to Order Production.
System response:- Account assignment can only be carried out with sales order created with requirement type for Make to Order production.
Please note :- We have many other production orders running for the same material in the same plants for different sales order . There is no problem with them except this sales order.
Following are the details for the material :-
Planning strategy:- 25
Procurement type :- E

In particular, the above-mentioned error messages are displayed if a planned order is not assigned to a sales order but the sales order number or the sales order item is not yet known when the account assignment data of the planned order is checked.
Check the requirement type in sale order and account assigment.
Create a production order with T-code CO08 with reference to sales order.

SL not getting generated via MRP

Hi,
Unable to generate schedule lines via MRP.
Settings:
Mat master - External proc , no spl proc
OA - Maintained
Source list - Maintained MRP Relevant - Indicator 2
Quota arrangement- Exist with only 1 vendor(same as of OA) 100%
MD03 - Planning data - Create PR (indicator-1), Create Sl(indicator 3)
Please let me know whether there is anything else which influence SL generation.

PR,s not getting generated after MRP run

Dear All,
I'm running MRP through MD51 for WBS element where RM's are attached to WBS.
It is MTO scenario where no stocks of RM's are maintained. I have checked all relevant settings of Masters.
After running MRP through MD51, system is not proposing PR's for RM's but when i run the MRP for independent FG (MD02 & MD03) system is proposing PR's.
Please suggest & help.

If 100% quota arrangement - no PR getting generate through MRP

Dear All :
I have maintained
lot size ES , quota arrangement = 3 , source list tick in mm master.
Also maintained source list , quota arrangement.
Where ever more than one vendor , system generating PR but for those quota arrangement maintained 100% for single vendor , there system not generating PR.
I know source list is enough for same but i want to give 100 business for some items vendors.
Please resolve my query at early as possible.

In T.code OMI4, which is to define a lot size, you see a small check box for split quota. It will be there for short term planning and long term plannng. You need to tick both or atleast one for your lotsize which you use in material master
Then only it will work.

'Releasestepcreated' not getting triggered for PR generated through MRP run

Hi,
I have PR Release strategy workflow configured, working well when i try to create PR manually, triggers workflow.
PR's created thorugh MRP run, triggers release strategy but not workflow.
I checked the event trace 'releasestepcreated' event not triggered through MRP run.
Please respond ASAP.

Refering SAP notes that i came to know that workflow is not supported
through MRP run (md03/md04).we are not using Planned orders.
To trigger workflow for Purchase requisitions created by MRP run, we
have developed a custom report to trigger workflow explicitly.
1.MRP batch job runs every night. After MRP job,planned to schedule
another job to trigger workflow for PR's created MRP run.
2. Used FM 'SAP_WAPI_CREATE_EVENT' to trigger workflow.
3. PR requires 5 levels of approvals based on release strategy
configuration.
4. The issue is PR 'XXX' created and waiting for approval in agent's
inbox.When 2nd day MPR runs same PR 'XXX' effected, another
workitem for the same PR in agent's inbox.
We have multiple workitems for the same PR in agent's Inbox.
If i execute one of the workitem,releases PR, multiple workitems are
getting generated for 2nd level approval for the same PR.
Please give your inputs to resolve this issue.

I created Scheduling agreement and assigned this Scheduling agreement in Source list with indicator 2 which is u201CRecord relevant to MRP. Sched.lines generated automaticallyu201D
Then I run MRP using MDO3 and parameters
Processing key: NETCH
Create Preq:     1
Del schedules:     3
Create MRPlist:     1
Planning mode:     3
Scheduling:     2
But still the results shows as its creating Purchase Requisition .
What can be reason for this?
Please let me know your thoughts on this

Normally this shd not happen if the data is maitained properly....
I mean you shd check the run results from MD04/06..in which check which sourcelist the system/MRP has taken while run..is this source same as you maintained....

As you are saying that yes, the sch. agr. validity lies, but only this doesn't mean that del. sch. will generate....you have to check the schedule dates which would have mentioned for the generation of del. schedule...if this date is later, means, tomorrow or day after tomorrow even though its in validity period, system will not generate del. sch. for this sch. agreement...then system will PR...
Also, if you always want delivery sch. to get generated in your normal process, then in the MRP group customising setting you can tick for the del. sch. generations...

After MRP planned orders are not getting generated?

HI,
Our bussiness is make to stock and repetetive manufacturing.
We have a prob in running MRP, i enter the demand in MD61 on day basis and after running MRP for some materials all planned orders getting generated wrt to demand but for some materials only some planned orders getting generated means it's not taking full demand ex i have material A and paln is 1000 for 10days i entered demand in MD61 for 10days 100 each and if B material is having same 1000 demand so i enter 100 each then i run MRP and the out put is im getting 10planned orders with 100 each qty for A material where as for material B im not getting full 10 orders only 2 or 3 with 100 each what could be the reason ?

As your saying it is Make to Stock, system will consider Availble stock in Net Req. Calculation
what is startegy mainatined for A & B
if you go with Strategy 11 then system will not consider the stock & Creates the requirements

Past one year, maintenance schedule is not getting generated.
Could you please let me know to where i have to look out for this problem in Equipment & Functional Locations?
What are all the fields will be mandatory and triggering the maintenance schedule / Notification in Equipment / Functional Locations?

There May be several resons...
Check Whether Maintenace for perticualr maintenance plan is not scheduled... their could completion requirement tick might selected previous maint. not done for the equipment.
Check any scheduling for inactive equips/fl
check any long offset has been set....
check while scheduling any sortfield key is set or genral...if pertiucalr sort key is belong to Eq/fl which will not help
