Excessive delay to start recording

Excessive delay (20 min) when starting recording.. However, once recording starts, its OK..
It takes 20 min to start recording.. I'm using Logic pro 8, with an iMac 2.4 ghz, 4 gb ram, ATI,RadeonHD2600.. No plug-ins or extra processing - just dry recording the band on 16 channels..
I'm recording at 24 bit, 44 ghz.. (Previously when recording 8 channels on a Motu 8pre, it took 8 minutes for the recording to start.) Now I've added an RME Fireface 800 - so 16 channels, and now it takes 20 minutes for the recording to start.
I am aware of the FF800/iMac controversy, but I believe its a software problem, or some wrong settings that I've done.. (The reason being that I had the problem with the Motu 8pre.. Also, my Macbook pro has the same problems)
I would sure appreciate any assistance. It should be instant recording.. Its real frustrating..
Thanks very much and greetings from Thailand!
Dave

Thanks very much John and Pancenter
That worked perfect and now I'm in business. I owe you folks a beer!
Much appreciated and Best Wishes for the Season

  • IPhone 4s Voice Memo App has 5 second delay when the record button is pressed. When it starts recording, it goes from 0 seconds to 5 or so seconds recorded. This happens randomly and often and sometimes has the delay but starts at zero. Solution Anyone?

After iOS 7 update, my iPhone 4s Voice Memo App has 5 second delay when the record button is pressed. When it starts recording, it goes from 0 seconds to 5 or so seconds that it shows has recorded. This happens randomly and often, sometimes it will have the 5+ second delay but starts recording at zero seconds. Besides the delay it has been working fine as far as saving and playback is concerned. I have plenty of storage on the phone itself and it NEVER had this problem before I updated to iOS 7. I've reset the phone a couple times by holding down the power and home buttons at the same time. The reason I have an issue with this is that I'm always recording song ideas, melodies, and scratch takes; what I'm saying is when I come up with an idea I need to be able to know that when I hit record it will start right then so I don't forget anything that has just popped in my mind.
Does anyone have a solution or suggestion?
    Thanks

  • Why does it take so long to start recording from my external drive?

I know the question its a bit long, I just wanna know why does it happen, or better what can I do so it stop happening...
I mean when Im recording using the drive from my macbook, it would not delay to start recording, but when Im working with the external drive and put it to record it takes like 40 seconds before its starts recording...
Im still learning so, please someone reply this concern ...
    thanks

+Im working with the external drive+
Are you 100% sure that your external drive is formatted to Mac OSX Extended, with journaling off? (NOT FAT32 or NTFS) Select the disk and press command-I to find out.
If not, _back up all the data on the drive_, and reformat it using your Disk Utility (Utilities folder).

  • Unable to start recording - occasional issue

We're having an intermittent issue that so far we have been unable to narrow down the exact cause so that we can fix the issue. Once in a while, when someone tries to start recording a call that an avgent is on, they will get a message stating "Unable to start recording for agent <agent's name>.". Initially we found that restarting the computer that the agent is sitting at would resolve the issue and they could be recorded again. That was not a viable long term solution however, and further troubleshooting has found that the computer itself doesn't need to be restarted to fix the issue. We found that just restarting the Cisco Agent Desktop software fixes the issue and allows that agent to be recorded again.
We have checked settings in CM for the agents and phones that this has happened to previously but everything has been correct there. The only common connection that we have found so far has been that the issue seems to happen after the agent has transferred a call or received a transferred call.
This isn't a widespread issue and only happens once in a while(maybe once or twice a week), and so far it isn't always the same person(agent or the person doing the recording) or the same computer. We're trying to gather more data, but due to the intermittentcy of this issue there isn't much at this point to go on.
    Anyone have any suggestions/ideas?

    Hi,
Sorry for the delayed reply. Reporting of this issue to us from the users has been sporadic. Our UCCX version is 8.
The issue isn't happening to any one agent but the ICD extension isn't shared with any other numbers that we can see, and checking the Route Plan Report doesn't show any lines that are shared with other numbers.
Is there possibly a timeout setting of some kind that could be affecting recording when a call is transferred?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

  • I'm trying to record only part of my screen using my Quicktime 10.0, but once I press record in the "Screen recording" feature it automatically starts recording and doesn't give me the option to choose what part of the screen to capture. What gives?

I'm trying to record only part of my screen using my Quicktime 10.0, but once I press record in the "Screen recording" feature it automatically starts recording and doesn't give me the option to choose what part of the screen to capture. What gives?

QuickTime version 10 can only record the entire screen.
10.1, 10.2 and 10.3 offer part of the screen recording.

Is it possible to pre-set Logic Express to start recording at a specifi time, in my absence?
I am using a new MacBook Pro with solid state drive.

As far as I know Logic is not able to timer record.  But Audacity can and it's a free program:

These instructions must be carried out as an administrator. If you have only one user account, you are the administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter "BOOT_TIME" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the BOOT_TIME log message that corresponds to the last boot time when you had the problem. Now clear the search box to reveal all messages. Select the ones logged after the boot, during the time something abnormal was happening. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
For example, if the problem is a slow startup taking three minutes, post the messages timestamped within three minutes   after the boot time, not before. Please include the BOOT_TIME message at the beginning of the log extract—not at the end.
If there are long runs of repeated messages, please post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. In most cases, a few dozen lines are more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ System Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
              View ▹ Show Log List
    from the menu bar.
There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of reports. A crash report has a name that begins with the name of the crashed process and ends in ".crash". A panic report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".panic". A GPU restart report has a name that begins with "Kernel" and ends in ".gpuRestart". Select the most recent of each. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash or panic, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • How to fix the delay problem while recording? Can't set the Latency to 0. Win7, CS6,Realtek,C03u Mic

I am using Win7, with CS6, Realtek soundcard and Samson C03U microphone.
There is a problem that's really been bothering me. When I record songs the recorded audio always comes 0.1 seconds after where it's supposed to be and I need to fix the problem every time. How to fix the delay problem while recording? I can't set the Latency to zero. The minimum is 30ms and I still get an obvious delay.
I saw some previous discussions saying that installing ASIO would help. Is it gonna work on my PC?
    Thank you in advance guys.

You probably should look at a more 'serious' audio interface rather than the Realtek
Yes ASIO drivers are the way to go
If you want zero latency you need to monitor via your audio hardware (hence the 'serious' audio interface suggestion)
There are a heap of reasonable audio interfaces which will do the job for you that are pretty inexpensive and I'm sure that someone will jump in with a suggestion

  • When I start recording with Captivate 4 it restarts

It is so strange, since it was working fine, I believe it should be because an update, when I start recording with Captivate 4 it restarts showing for less than a second a blue screen.
    What can I do?

    Hi,
Try after deleting the preferences folder.
you can find the preferences folder [Adobe Captivate] in the following location:-
    - on Xp C:\Documents and Settings\<USER NAME>\Application Data\Adobe
    - on Vista/Win7 C:\Users\<USER NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe

  • MAC Address in Radius Accounting Start Record

what's the MAC Address AVP that appears in accounting start record used for ?

    Vikram,
Are you performing webauth or is this for an auth-proxy session? If a user authenticates via dot1x then the calling station id is the mac address, if the user is peforming webauth or if this for an auth-proxy session then the ip address of the client is sent.
    Thanks,

  • QM2.6 - how to start recording in UCCX CAD station

    Hi,
I just installed QM components in UCCX CAD station but don't know how to start recording
    -WFO QM desktop
    -WFO QM recording
Is there any button on CAD or via administrator work-flow?
**I referred QM admin and user's guide but cannot figure out
    Advise please!!!

Well we use QM recording and the Cisco IP Communicator - if your are using the communicator save yourself a lot of time and headaches by ensuring your device name is in the SEPxxxxxx format - it has to be the MAC - no other format will work.
Secondly to enable recording your CAD users you will need to enable them through the "quality management administrator" application. You will need to link them and license them as well. You won't be able to do any recording unless they are licensed. The debug logs under C:\Program Files\Cisco\WFO_QM\log are helpful as well. Once you have everything configured properly don't expect to see anything under the "Recordings" tab right away but you may see recordings pop into "Archives" when you search for one of the users you are recording.

  • Failed to start recording.

    Hi ,
While using the JRockit Runtime Analyzer i am not able to start the recordning.
I have started weblogic server with JRockit jvm and witn -Xmanagement option.
But this when i try starting the JRockit runtime analyzer it gives me message
    "Failed to start recording..."
If any body knows about this what is needed to configure so that i can record
    application memory map.
    thanks

    Sonali,
If you're running the correct JRockit version (8.1 SP1) and it's still
not working it might be because your system is under heavy load and the
request to start recording gets a socket timeout. In this case you could
try the alternative way to start the recording which involves starting
JRockit with some extra parameters. See the FAQ on
    http://edocs.bea.com/wljrockit/docs81/jra/jra.html#1050831
    Best regards,
    /Helena
