Exch2013 - OWA Message with Attachments Error

Greetings,
This morning I worked on an issue with an email that has 5 attachments sent to multiple people in my organization. The type of attachments include one .docx file (830 KB) along with four .mp4 files (21MB total). When this email is viewed in OWA for all recipients
besides one, they can view the email and attachments without issue. On one particular mailbox I see the email in the Inbox but when I select it I get "Error: Your request can't be completed right now. Please try again later."
If I forward the same email to this user I get the same error again. If I break the email into two emails, splitting the attachments up, three on one email and two on the other email, it comes through correctly.
My mind goes to some type of send/receive limit on the user but when I check the limits on the user account, and on the database, I have no limits set. Also all users are on the same database so that wouldn't support that idea.
Can someone explain to me what could cause an email to show correctly on all recipients for this email but for one recipient they receive that error?
Thanks,
Robert

Hi Robert,
Just one user cannot open big size attachment in OWA, it seems an issue on the specific user side.
Please let the specific user change to another computer and Browser for testing.
Thanks

  • Exchange 2007 server will not send intra-organisation messages with attachments

Hi we have a problem with the Intra-Organisation connector between out Dubai and London office.
If they send us a plain message it is delivered OK, however if there is any attachment most of the time the message sits in the queue and continually retries. On some occasions messages do get delivered.
The errors vary between Connection Timed Out, Connection Dropped and 10061, No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.
As Dubai have a dynamic IP address they route all of their external mail via London and that is all going through OK. All of the other sites can send and receive OK with attachments both internally and externally.
To me this looks like I have a problem with the Intra-Organisation SMTP Send Connector on the Dubai server but I cannot spot anything that might be causing this issue.
They have worked previously however another issue did involve removing the Dubai server from the domain and adding it back in. Since then we have had this problem.
I have checked message size limits on the Send connector (100Mb) and the Transport settings (100Mb). I have checked the message size limits on the Intra-Organisation SMTP Send Connector (unlimited) and even on the user's mailbox (unlimited).
Any idea where I should be looking next?
    Many thanks, Eddie

    Hi Ed,
I think you may have hit on the problem - this is all one org so having read up more on this it should not be using this.
I spotted that the server was using this connector when I was looking the message tracking for the server and started looking into what it does and how to control it.
I used the Set-TransportServer command to set protocol logging on this to verbose, it get entries in the SMTP send logs like this:

So it does appear for some reason that the local mail server thinks it needs to use the wrong connector even though both servers that are in the same domain. It is odd that it only seems to affect messages with attachments.
Can you give me any suggestions to try and find the root cause of this problem?
    Many thanks, Eddie

  • Mail message with attachments

I use iMacs for work.  I often send email messages with attachments using Mail.  Often, when sending email messages to Windows users (they are out there still), they will reply that they cannot open "the second attachment."  The message seems to "pick up" a second apparent attachment, which is generally just a few K in size, and is not part of the original message or attachment.  Unfortunately, though, it tricks the recipient into thinking that there are two attachments and the second one is meaningful  So then they respond and I have to assure them that the second attachment is irrelevant and can be ignored.
Any thoughts on how to fix this, so outgoing email messages will only present the intended attachment?

That's a great question.  I do use a signature, but inasmuch as it is simply text pre-inserted in the email message, I would be surprised if the signature somehow became stripped out and converted to an attachment. Nonetheless, I will try deleting the signature to see if that makes any difference.

  • I want messages with attachments to not be sorted and I want to see the attachment icon

Thanks for sending me the information on showing the attachment icon. I did what you suggested, and it did not work. And now, if I get an email with an attachment, I don't see the email--it is buried somewhere in my inbox. I used to be able to get messages with attachments and they would come in chronological order, and there would be an attachment icon. Can you please help?

Click on the header label DATE to sort by date. Click DATE a 2nd time to reverse the sort order.
This works on any header. The one to click on is where it is going to sort.
Do you have the attachment column showing? See image.
If not click the circled icon and add it.

  • Does Workshop deal with SOAP Messages with Attachments

I try to send back an image from my web service. Is there a way to make a SOAP Messages
    with Attachments using BEA Workshop?
    Thanks,
    Jerome.

    Hi Jerome,
I'm pretty sure that Workshop doesn't support SwA (SOAP with Attachments) yet. The
product manager says that it is being considered for a future version, though :-)
In the meantime, I don't see any reason why you can't just use a Java class that
uses the JavaMail API to construct a Multipart MIME message. The MimeMultipart class
(the one that acts as a container for a multipart/related document) has a writeTo()
method that you can use to populate a ByteArrayOutputStream. Afterwards, you should
be able to use the toByteArray() method on this ByteArrayOutputStream, to create
the byte[] that maps to a xsd:base64Binary data type. The nice thing about this,
is that the target web service has complete access to the SOAP message (in the first
Body part), and all the attachments :-)
    Just a thought...

  • Mail crashes on opening any message with attachments

mail crashes on opening any message with attachments
this started happening about a month ago. I thought the problem was that there was too much mail in the program -
so, I acquired a program called MAILSTEWARD (which I recommend!) and it stores & saves my old mail.
I reset MAIL, so it kept my address and smart folder instructions etc, but all the mail itself was gone (I forget how I did that - I probably will try it again...)
for a few weeks, everything was fine - I could open an eMail with an attachment, and it worked.
but now it started crashing again everytime there's an attachment!
don't know what to do - there's only a month's worth of mail in there (which I should clean out anyhow) - but it seems to me that's not too much...
    thanks!
    w

that's it - I ran the updater - and I believe I have been able to use it all day without the program crashing when it encounters an attachment.
one goofy thing I noticed, for the first time, there appear to be two applications folders on my start-up drive (1) in my user folder (2) in the "main" hard drive folder.
MAIL is in both - I believe the "main" one was updated; when I turned on the "user" MAIL it crashed when I opened an eMail with an attachment; when I opened the same eMail with the "main" mail there was no problem.
now what does this tell us?
    thanks again!
    will

  • Cannot send messages with attachments

I recently got a new 13" MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard. I setup Mail to work with our OWA Exchange Server and it works fine except for one major bug. I cannot send ANY messages that have attachments. Here's what I've tried so far to resolve the issue:
Tried a smaller attachment - no change
Tried a larger attachment - no change
Tried composing a new message - no change
Tried replying to a message - no change
Tried forwarding a message - no change
Tried different types of attachments (Word docs, pdfs, jpgs, etc) - no change
Updated to the OS to 10.6.1 - no change
    What else can I try?

Right, forgot that part. It goes away for one second (as if the message has been sent), then comes back with this error:
Cannot send message using the server +(my smtp server settings)+. The Exchange 2007 connection to server +(our exchange server's ip address)+ failed. Select a different outgoing mail server from the list below or click Try Later to leave the message in your Outbox until it can be sent.
Below that, I get a list of SMTP servers, but since I only use one account with Mail, its just the Exchange entry. There are three button across the bottom: Edit Message, Try Layer, and Try With Selected Server.
If I select my Exchange server and click Try With Selected Server, it comes right back with this same error.
If I click Try Later, it puts in the Outbox, but never sends it. I left a message in there for a day once and it eventually gave me this error again for that message.
If I click Edit Message, and remove the attachment, I'm able to send the message.
My guess is that Mail isn't encoding the attachments correctly, which means I'll have to wait for Apple to fix the bug.

  • Fault message with 'Server error'

    Hi all,
I have the following problem in PI.
The scenario is a synchronous interface, in which messages are send to PI using SOAP adapter. These are sent by proxy to ECC, and afterwards a reponse message is sent back.
    So it's a SOAP-Proxy scenario with a synchronous interface and a request/response message.
I'm testing this interface using SOAPUI.
In PI the request and response messages are processed succesfully, however in SOAPUI I get the following error message (fault message), which is also shown in the communication channel logging.

Does anyone have an idea what causes this?
    Thanks in advance any help!

    Hi Eng Swee
The audit log doesn't show any errors. The java.lang.ClassCastException erro is shown in the processing details of the communication channel (column explanation)
The last step in the audit log is : "The message status is set to DLVD"
I think steps are missing after this, that sent the response message back to SOAPUI.
I also had a look in a similar interface I've build earlier, in which the additional last steps are:
SOAP: Response message leaving the adapter
    SOAP: Processing completed
So for some reason the response message is not sent back from the adapter.
Could this issue be related to the test with SOAPUI and the version used?
The SOAPUI version is 5.0 and the PI version is 7.0

  • Error resending messages with system-error in Adapter Engine

    Hi all,
We got an error when trying to resend all messages in error in runtime workbench, message monitoring, adapter engine, database (overview), clicking on a sender service with messages in error state, and clicking on "repeat" button to resend those in error messages. The error is "No authorization to execute action for component Adapter Engine XP0". The user We are using to perform this task is associated to all groups available in CUA... some of you has any tips about how to perform this operation?
    regards.
    roberti

I really don't remember what solved this problem, but it is solved. Now the functionality works as it should.

  • PI 7.11 process SOAP message  with Attachments failed

    Hello,
we have a scenario where the sender (3rd-Party) start a sync call via PI to a receiver (SAP BW system).
The receiver send a response with attachment. SAP processed the message successfully but sender could not processed message because the SOAP header do not have the attribut Content-Transfer-Encoding.
with this attribut I could tell the sender that the attachments are more then 7bit.
How to can I set this attribut into the SOAP header in the SAP PI?
Or have someone an other idee?
    Thanks and regards
    Martin

Have a look at at MultipartHeaderBean and MessageTransformBean at [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/cd/5af7c0c994e24fb0d0088443513de2/frameset.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi711/helpdata/en/cd/5af7c0c994e24fb0d0088443513de2/frameset.htm]
It talks about content ID, content description, content type, content disposition but it does not mention Content-Transfer-Encoding.

  • Replacing JBO error messages with Struts error messages

I would like to display Struts error messages on an HTML form instead of the JBO error messages when a user submits a form with data entry error. Has anybody done that? Do I need to extend the DataForwardAction class and write JAVA code to do it or is there a more elegant way?

Could someone please answer this? As I understand, Steve Meunch says: "our prescriptive architecture's best practice is to implement all validation in your entities" but this is talking more about rules, I think, than about error messages that are customized to specific pages and fields.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

  • Unable to send messages with attachments greater than 5 Mb using iPad 2

    Hello
We are running into an issue in our organization where messages forwarded or composed from an iPad 2 ( iOS 6.1.0.3) with an attachment greater than 5 Mb fail to send.
iOS devices connect through MobileIron into Exchange 2010 SP1 RU8. Our message restriction on the Exchange end is 25 Mb.
Our MobileIron support team has ruled out any issue on their end. We cannot determine if the matter resides with the devide or Exchange, though we are suspecting the device.
We are able to forward or compose messages up to 5 Mb without an issue. We have also been able to receive different attachments up to 17 Mb without too much trouble, the exception being a 12 Mb MP4 video. The 12 Mb MP4 file would not download. This is why we're suspecting a device issue.
Has anyone run into something similar?

Are you certain it is not a limitation with your SMTP-server? OR the receiving end of your larger-than-10MB message?
Try and send a big one to yourself. If it doesn't work, try a free SMTP server.
