Exchang, Mail, Ical - strange sync problem

I have a very strange problem... i guess.
After installing Snow Leopard both on my MacBook Pro and my Imac I've set up Exchange 2007.
It all works just fine on the MB, both mail and calendar. Downloading mails and syncing my calendar events. I can also subscribe to my co-workers calendars, all good.
However, on the Imac it's downloading my mail, and syncs with my calendar, but I cant subscribe to my co-workers calendars, and I can't find any differences in the setup in Ical. It wont even show which calendars that's available...
Is there anybody who had similar problems? :o/

Here is what I would do, as a test.
1) Check to see if you selected within iCal's preference the "Show Birthdays calendar" option. If so, close the preferences window, select the Birthdays calendar and Export to your drive (Desktop) for backup. Then return to iCal preference and uncheck the Birthdays calendar option.
2) Create a new calendar named Test (or whatever you choose other than Birthdays). Create a bogus all-day event for the new calendar like you would have for someone's birthday in the Birthdays calendar, and place it on a day that you have one of your appointments.
3) Sync to your phone and see the results. If the events show up correctly on your phone, then return to iCal and change your new calendar's name to Birthdays, create another all-day event on the day of a current appointment and again sync with your phone.
4) If this too is correct on your phone after synching, then the culprit would be the iCal's Birthdays setting. I would then leave this option off and then import the backup export I made in step 1 into my new Birthdays calendar.
5) Once again sync w/ the phone to see if the issue is gone. If so, you have your workaround.
If not, or if during any of the other steps the issue arose, I would say the problem lies within your Nokia or maybe even another calendar. That be the case, somewhat repeat the steps above in creating a new calendar, exporting the "bad" calendar, test a new entry in the new calendar to sync w/ your phone, and if successful, import the "bad" calendar's data into your new calendar to see if that is successful.
A bit of work, but it just might resolve your issue. Good luck and I look forward to seeing if it works.

Yosemite Mail still has sync problems with Gmail - any solutions?

I notice that Yosemite Mail still has sync problems with Gmail. After running for some hours, I noticed there were 6 emails in my Gmail account that had not synced over the past hour.
In the meanwhile, for safety's sake (don't want to miss emails!) I'm back to Mailplane. But I wonder if anybody knows of a solution to this long term problem first introduced in Mavericks. Works fine in iOS Mail though.

I don't think we'll ever have a "best of both worlds" Doug. I've used Gmail since the week it launched the first beta in 2004, and it's always been a bit of a love-hate relationship for me (mostly love). With the demise of the Google Notifier for Mac, I went with Mailplane, but even it has problems. Like when I see my iPhone update with new mail and I'm looking at Mailplane and it won't update at times with even a forced refresh. I often have to close/reopen it to see new messages. But, it's hard to live without my Google Calendar only a tab click away, one of the primary reasons I use Mailplane, that plus changing view zoom sticks with Mailplane and won't with Gmail.
For years I've thought Gmail labels were the perfect filing solution, but over the past few weeks I've been analyzing just how much I really use that feature, and for me...it's not all that much. I think I could simplify my life by putting everything into appropriate folders (as in all other email apps). Apple doesn't realize just how much money they're losing by not allowing people to use private domains with iCloud mail...which I would do in a heartbeat just because it would work perfectly with Mail.app. I would pay even more than I currently pay Google for this solution with Google Apps Business. So, I'm actually on the verge of moving my private domain to the best email service I can find and then using it with Mail.app. The problem here, of course, is I'll lose the best spam control on the planet (Gmail). So, as you say, there simply is not a "best" solution for all these things. I'll at least try a new email service first with some other domain to see how I like it before moving my primary email.
Lastly, the other thing that incenses me is synching of flags between iOS and Apple Mail. It works fine between Gmail and iOS Mail, since all I care about is whether a message is starred/flagged or not. But using Apple Mail, when I flag a message it will not show as flagged in their own iOS Mail, which is incomprehensible, given they built both apps.
If you find a great solution or discover anything new...please post it here, Doug. Thanks.

Mail For Exchange 3.0.074 sync problem Googlemail ...

After installing MfE 3.0.074 gmail sync is not working anymore.
The Initial sync works allways. But a bit later im only able to send e-mails.
but i dont recive any. When i try to sync it manually i can see in the log that MfE trys to update 1 e-mail on every sync .But nothing more happens. i dont get any new email.
if i subscripe a new folder the init syncs works again but later its the same again.
There are people describing the same issues.
currently only installing an older MfE version works but Nokia dosent offer old versions officially. So please bring the current official version back to work.

I have absolutely the same trouble.
When I sync gmail for the first time everything goes clear. After that I CAN recieve NEW mail on my phone on next syncs. I mean NEW is the mail, that haven't been read before with any other client.
But if I read this mail on other client, say in browser, the synchronization doesn't work anymore. I recieve no mails from that point.

MS Exchange mail on 9300i - Sync 9300i with Exchan...

I am trying to SYNC / Connecting my Nokia 9300i to my MS Exchange server for Sync mails / calander.
However, all I am able to do is send mails from my handset.
At the server end Software for mobile connectivity is installed GOODLINK, now how can I access and SYNC and see all the folders of the ms exchange mail box in my hand set nokia 9300i ???
DO I have to install any software on my handset to be compatible ??? Is their any MS Outlook software for nokia 9300i so that it can sync with MS Exchange like a normal PC.
Please advice.

I found a solution for sync email from MS Exchange server - RoadSync software but it costs $100.00.
Is their any other way I can connect and sync email from MS Exchange server.
Ans yes we can only sync inbox from server it does not sync other folders, however the emails you send, they are sync in Sent folder in MS Exchange server.
Please if any one knows any other solution other then RoadSync please let me know.

SPANNING SYNC USED FOR MOTOROLA DROID, GOOGLE MAIL & ICAL NOT SYNCING

I USE SPANNING SYNC ON MY MOTOROLA DROID. WORKS GREAT IN SYNCING TO GOOGLE MAIL BUT ONLY GETS ALERTS FROM ICAL. CAN'T SEEM TO SYNC GOOGLE TO ICAL AND BACK. IS IT THE 'READ ONLY' ON ICAL THAT IS THE PROBLEM. IF SO, HOW DO I CHANGE IT. THANKS!

ICal / iPhone sync problems - events don't appear in iCal

I have MobileMe set up on both my MacBook and iPhone. All iCal-created events now appear on my iPhone (although only those after 9th May 2008; none before), but if I create an event on my iPhone then it doesn't show up on iCal. If I check MobileMe on the internet, my web-based version of iCal has all events, including those that I create on the iPhone.
On iCal I have two calendar types: Home (Blue) and Work (Green). On my iPhone there are now four types, for some reason: two Homes (both Blue) and two Works (both Green). I have tried experimenting by creating events in all calendars, but none sync to appear in iCal on my MacBook.

After 3.5 hours on the phone with applecare, I believe this problem of not syncing ical from ipod touch to the ical app is resolved. Here are the steps that made it happen for me:
Log out of main account and log into root account. If you haven't set up the root user yet follow the directions in your Mac Help on your computer. Make sure you understand the implications of setting up the root user account. You may want to disable the root user after you are done with this fix.
In Finder, navigate to /Users/(your account)/Library/Application Support and delete every folder in the Application Support directory that has the word 'Sync' in the folder's name.
Log out of the root account and back into your main account. Sync your ipod touch / iphone and see if this worked for you.

Very strange syncing problem

My syncing has not been working properly for a few days - mainly events from iphone not appearing on iCal on my iMac. This morning the problem got much weirder. I entered an event in iCal - a meeting for 9.00am. I then had the meeting confirmed for later and edited the initial entry, making the time 9.30. My phone had not been connected to the computer while this was happening. But then I synced my iphone and appearing on the phone were both the 9.00am meeting entry and also the 9.30am entry - in different calendar colours. Just the 9.30 meeting was on the Mac when the sync took place - what's going on???

Yes, only using MobileMe would leave an entry in the log.
Did you try to replace the calendar info on the phone with the one on the computer (info pane, advanced section) and try to sync a new entry after that?

ICal: STRANGE syncing of Appointments for "Oct 28th, 2007"

When syncing iCal to .Mac all dates/times are synched correctly. Only appointments for Oct 28th, 2007 sync to one hour earlier.
*What did I do? How to reproduce?*
- My MacBook is in TimeZone CEST (Berlin - Germany)
- in iCal created a new calendar "test"
- created an appointment for Oct 26th, 2007 at 11:00
- copied that appointment and moved copies to Oct 27th, Oct 28th, ... Nov 1st
- published calendar to .mac
- all appointments on .mac-calendar on the web show appointment start time of 11:00, only on Oct 28th the appointment starts at 10:00.
*Troubleshoot attempts:*
- checked Timeszone settings - even changed, synched, re-set timezone to correct value
- moved appointment for Oct 28th to later time; delta of one hour remained
- exported calendar to desktop and reloaded it - no change
- moved appointment to last Sunday of October 2008 (Oct 26th, 2008) - SUDDENLY SHOWS SAME PROBLEM OF ONE HOUR DELTA
- however, trying LAST SUNDAY in other months (July 07, Aug 07, Sep 07, Nov 08) did work fine
=> Problem seems to exist for last Sunday of each October

You should install these updates even if your computer is used in a time zone that is not affected.
Since the Mac OS X 10.4.9 Update specifically contained DST changes, I would recommend that you update both systems to 10.4.10.

ICal events sync problem

Hi,
I am using Leopard 10.5.1 on my Mac Mini and am adding events and alarms in iCal but they dont get uploaded on my iPhone when I sync it in iTunes.
If it makes any difference, all my calenders were originally created created in Tiger.
Can anyone help?

I'm having the same problem. Whenever I create a new event in iCal it will not sync to my iPhone. No solution yet except to use the calendar in Entourage instead; those events will sync without any problem. This started with I upgraded to Leopard.

Outlook exchange, iPhone 4S & IOS8: sync Problems

I own an iPhone 4S and use a Microsoft Exchange account for work which perfectly worked for over 3 years that I have owned the iphone.
After a recent upgrade to iOS 8 on the phone, Outlook exchange no longer sync to the iPhone's email/contacts/calendar modules!!!
I would greatly appreciate any help as I am handicapped not being able to consult my work email while in transit

I had the same problem on my 4S after updating to iOS 8. When I tried to fetch data to check my inbox, it would try to update the inbox for a few seconds and then fail.
Trying to update the inbox wouldn't work, but I did successfully send an email from the Exchange account on my phone. That seemed to break the log jam. I sent a test email back to the Exchange account and my Inbox was able to successfully update itself. Seems to be working now.

Ical & iphone sync problem

Each time I sync my iphone to my macbook all new appointments are transferred, but the times on the iphone are reset 4 hours earlier. The appointments and times stay are correct on the macbook.
I have made new appointments on the iphone and they are successfully transferred to the macbook, but the time is changed 4 hours back on the iphone. Has to be an easy fix?
I have checked the settings to be sure time zones and all are set correctly. Anyone have any suggestions? I really just want to use ical and the iphone calendar together. Thanks

On your iphone open Settings -> General -> Date & Time.
If time zone support is on, make sure the time zone is set correctly.
If the time zone is set correctly, try turning time zone support and set time automatically off.
make sure the time on the iphone is set correctly.
Then try to sync the iphone again.
Hope this helps.

Ical, icloud sync problem. mac to phone

When I add an event on my phone ical it will appear on the Mac, but if I add on the mac calendar it won't appear on phone calendar. Yet if I delete an event on my mac it will delete on phone calendar. Any ideas?

Have you checked, or tried changing the iCal>Preferences...>Accounts>"Refresh Calendars:" settings?

Strange syncing problem with iPhone 3GS

I've got 2 user accounts on my windows box, one for me and one for my sister. Both of us have 3GS's. I can sync my phone and transfer music to it without any issues.
I haven't synced my sister's phone in quite some time. I plugged it in last night, and iTunes pulled down all her music, contacts, and applications. So far so good. I noticed, however, that I could not drag any music to her phone. Normally with mine, I can drag music straight from windows explorer right to my phone, or I can drag it to my library music folder, and then I can drag it to my phone.
Even worse, after it synced her phone, all the music was gone from her phone (fortunately, it seems to be safe on the computer; she tends to do everything from the phone and hardly uses iTunes). However, her contacts and applications were all still on her phone.
Her phone is "authorized" on her account.
I'm using iTunes 9.0.2.25, and both phones are running 3.1.2.
Any ideas, or further bits I can tell you guys to aid in assistance?

Was the phone unlocked prior to updating, and if so, how?

ICal Google Syncing problem

I shared with my mom, who has a Galaxy s4, my iCal calenders. Her iMac is to old and does not have iCloud. Is there another way she could view my iCal events from her android through either her default calender app or gmail? I do not want to have to add my gmail account to her phone

Not sure why you've posted this in the iCloud.com forum. You'd be better off asking on the Google Calendar forums, since that is the product you're trying to share calendars from, or an Android forum, as that is the product you're trying to share calendars with.

Strange Sync Problems

I had purchased new music via itunes through my new Mac laptop, and some from CDs. In the past, i had it hooked up to my desktop PC. I had to sync my ipod on my laptop to get the music i recently got. I did that, and now ALL but 11 songs have been removed from my ipod. I do not understand how or why this even happened. I have no idea how to get all these songs i had purchased back onto my ipod either.
Does anyone know how to get all my music back? I have no idea, and i am very very upset because of this.
