Hello, I have a server running SBS2008 with exchange 2007.
I need to export all Mail Contacts, only need to export Dispaly Name, Alias and External email address.
I then need to import them into my new server running exchange 2010
Then i need to to dthe same with the distrubuition lists and add the contacts inoot the relavant groups.
Does anybody know if this is possible please, if so  can anybody help me?

Hi
Perhaps you can export to a csv and then import from the .csv in exchange 2010?
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Contact and distrubution list

    Good Day ,
Just one question I did migration from exchange 2003 to exchange 2010 I moved mailbox about Contact and distrubution list
is moved automaticly I don't need to do somthing .
    Regards
    e

You need to upgrade the Distribution list.
    Set-DistributionGroup <DL name> -Forceupgrade
The ForceUpgrade parameter suppresses the following confirmation: "To save changes on object <object name>, the object must be upgraded to the current Exchange version. After the upgrade, this object can't be managed by an earlier
version of the Exchange Management Tools. Do you want to continue to upgrade and save the object?" This confirmation occurs when you upgrade a distribution group that was created in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. You can't manage an Exchange 2003 distribution
group by using the Exchange Management Console until you update the object's version.
    Taken from
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124955(v=exchg.141).aspx
    Same with Contacts as well
    Set-MailContact <Contact name> -Forceupgrade
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995950(v=exchg.141).aspx
Now, if you want to perform this on all the Distribution Groups and contacts, you can run the commandlet as below
    Get-DistributionGroup -ResultSize Unlimited | Set-DistributionGroup -ForceUpgrade
    Get-Mailcontact -ResultSize Unlimited | Set-MailContact -ForceUpgrade

  • How can I stop my iPhone from synching my contacts and groups lists twice?

How can I stop my iPhone from synching my contacts and groups lists twice....I am using iCloud but am not sure how correct this duplication.

Go into Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars. Is this happening at the bottom in the signature section, or in the header of the mail where your email address is? If it is the signature, then go to the Signature area of the Mail settings. If this is in the header, then go to the account in question and edit your account information to include your name instead of Johnny.

  • Exchange 2007 : Users cannot add contact while using outlook anywhere

Hey guys, i have a client with Exchange 2007 (standalone), when a user is connected through Outlook Anywhere or Activesync and they try to save a contact they get a little popup saying exchange is unavailable, outlook needs to be connected.
    Any ideas on these error?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
In client side which is using Outlook Anywhere, please disable using Exchange Cached mode and restart Outlook to use Online mode. Then check whether the error occurs or not when saving a contact. Also do the test in OWA from external internet environment.
If the issue doesn't happen in Outlook Online and OWA, please create a new Outlook profile for this Outlook Anywhere user.

  • Upgrading from Exchange 2007 SP2 to SP3 stops and fails with Performance Counter

We are upgrading from Exchange 2007 SP2 to SP3.
Exchange Server is on Windows 2008 Enterprise 64 bit OS -SP2
DC is on windows 2008 Enterprise 32 bit OS - SP2
When we run Exchange SP3 setup.exe GUI, it runs through the pre-requisites completely and then starts to configure the Hub Transport services but @ exactly 55% it throws an error window "Exchange Server Setup encountered an error"
On repeating this process i noticed it throws the same error at 55% while "Performance COunter Configuring". Please find below the entries of exchangesetup.log

Appreciate if someone can help us move forward in this scenario.
    We have
    1. disabled anti virus and tried.
    2. removed watermarks and action entries in the registry
    3. tried almost everything mentioned on google but i am not able to move forward.
Please help. we need this as part of our migration to Exchange 2013 for co-existence.
    Thank you.

  • Exchange 2007 Search Export-Mailbox AND OPERATOR

I am looking to do a search for keywords using Export-Mailbox cmdlet. It seems like there is no way to do a AND search for two keywords (For example "BUDGET" AND "FINANCE").
It seems like the only way we could get partial results would be to put both the keywords in quotes as s ingle keyword with a space (for example "BUDGET FINANCE"). But this doesnt serve the purpose.
I have tried to use Outlook Instant Search / Search folders and OWA search but all yeild different results as it seems like the search function is not consistent across all these 3 features.
For example, the search folders it seems like do not search in the content (attachments) but Outlook online mode folder does / OWA does search etc. / I am not able to search in online folders using Outlok as this is a journal mailbox and has 500K messages
with managed folders and there does not seem to be a way to narrow down the saerch only in a specific folder and its subfolders.
Has any body else come across a situation to do a discovery for keywords with an AND operator ? Is there a way to do this using native tools?
    TIA
    Prakash

So, you want to do the phrase searching for “BUDGET FINANCE”, not the multiple keywords that spread in a mail?
Which cmdlet line do you use to perform the search?
“You can specify keywords and phrases to search message content. You can also use the logical operators AND, OR, and NOT”

  • Exchange 2007 cannot export pst files via its powershell

    Hi,
I am trying to export pst files from Exchange server 2007.
This script used to work perfectly.

But now I am getting an error message saying this

    what would be the problem?
I checked that the account has full permission so permission would not be the issue.
    Thanks

    Hi,
First, please check if the mailbox database mentioned in the error message is mounted.
Besides, please check if you can export other mailbox using the Export-Mailbox cmdlet.
If all mailbox are affected, please check if you have the Exchange Server Administrator role assigned.
    1. Open EMC.
    2. Select the Organization Configuration node from the console tree.
    3. Please check the permissions assigned in the result pane. If there is no the Exchange Server Administrator role, please add it to check the result.

    Dear Graham
I am already big fan of yours and using mail to many Addin from years from word 2007 to Word 2010 :) and still loving it and I use it for access re-authorization from Lines for application accesses . I tried and finally got understanding of the Extract to
mail Addin and after tweaking excel - Text To columns and other few things finally i was able to get the required data - from morning to now :) I am happy to see your provided guidance
Thanks alot - by the way why your Mail to many add-in is so slow now these days :) previous versions usually help me send 1000 emails in 10 minutes now it takes long time :)

  • How can i send a email to multiple people on my ipad2 using the contact and group list downloaded from my iMac.  Thank you

I am 63 yrs old and not to computer literate.  I know how to send an email to multiple people using my contact list and groups on my IMAC.  I tried using a group name downloaded to my Ipad2 from my IMac.  It does not work.  If I choose a single email address it works.  Any idea what I am doing wrong?
Thank you for your paitence and help.
    Steve

You are not doing anything wrong. The feature that you need is totally lacking in the built in Mail app on the iPad.
There are a couple of third party mail apps that will let you do this ... MailShot and Group Email with Attachments. You can check them out in the App Store.

  • IMovie won't export "missing media" and now won't import archived footage either?

    Hello,
I made a movie in iMovie 10.0.3, and tried to export it to "file". It came up fine in the Theatre, but when I exported it to "file" a message about "missing media" came up, and when I tried to play it (tried to burn it to DVD), a further message about "quicktime not recognising the format" came up. It was saved as an mp4 file. I thought I would try and delete all the original footage and reimport it from the external HDD (where it was saved as archived footage), however when I plug the HDD in, the previously imported clips don't come up. I've emptied the trash to try and help (clutching at straws!), and was wondering if anyone could offer advice on how to a. export the movie successfully or b. reimport the clips so I can make the movie again (long and tedious, but possibly the only way?).
    Thanks in advance.
ps this is my first time posting, so please be gentle with a newbie!

Found the solution myself! All I needed to do was turn off the Time Machine. I have no idea why it does that. Finally, I can use iMovie again! Apple should really fix that though.

  • Error: The specified mailbox database [Mailbox Database Name] does not exist, when you try to export mailbox in Exchange 2007

    [Symptom]
    ======================
In Exchange 2007, when you want to export mailbox to a .pst file, you should run the
Export-Mailbox cmdlet from a 32-bit computer that has the following installed:
The 32-bit version of the Exchange management tools
Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 SP2 or later versions
If not, you may encounter the following error message:
You check that you have these required installed, but you get the error below when you run Export-Mailbox in EMS.
“The specified mailbox database [Mailbox Database Name] does not exist.”
    [Cause Analysis]
    =======================================
This is because that the account you use to run Export-Mailbox cmdlet don’t have the Exchange Server Administrator role assigned.
You can check if this account has been delegated the Exchange Server Administrator role through the following path.
EMC -> Organization Configuration-> Check permissions in the result pane.
To delegate this Exchange Server Administrator role, right click on the

    Hi,
Based on my test, if you make the user the owner of the database (rather than a user with the db_owner role), when you create a query, it creates it under the dbo schema rather than DOMAIN\username.
Steps to do so (in Management Studio):
    Right click database, select Properties
    Click File
    Change Owner in the textbox
    OK to confirm
Downside - other users under db_owner role will still have their username appended. So schemas have to be created for these users.

  • Incorrect Legacyexchangedn is being stamped only on contact objects created on Exchange 2007

    Environment
Exchange 2007- All mailboxes are hosted on Exchange 2007 servers.
Exchange 2000 - Only being used to relay emails, RUS is running on these servers.
Abnormality what i have noticed is that contact objects being created on exchange 2007 server are getting legacyexchangedn as "OU=itca" which is name of Exchange 2000 administrative group. Ideally, any objects created on Exchange 2007 should get
legacyexchangedn like "OU=Exchange administrative group (FYDI....)" .
This happens only with contacts. Legacyexchangedn on mailbox is getting stamped correctly.
I am trying to understand why contact objects are getting incorrect legacyexchangedn. Any help on this would be appreciated.

    Hi,
Can you change the OU when create contacts?
Please try below link to create contact, for your reference:
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa997220(v=exchg.80).aspx
Meanwhile, we can modify the default OU by AD. More details about Redirecting the users and computers containers in Active Directory domains, please refer to:

  • HT1386 Windows 8 Syncing Problem with Contacts and Calendars Office 2007 and iphone 4

I have a new Dell Inspiron 17R and just did a sync with my iphone 4.  It wiped out my contact  and calendar listing.  I have selected the contacts and calenders sync option.  It is almost like the sync process can not fine the pst file on this new Windows 8 computer.

For this particular issue, as suggested by yellowadept, go the the info tab at under the advanced section, choose replace contact information on iphone. This will over write any contact information on the iphone with what you have in address book on the computer.
However, if you are interested in what part of the 111 contacts will be changed, you could open address book first. Then highlight all your contacts and click on file>export>as vcard. Then you could back up all your contacts to your desktop. After you export all your contacts then you could sync the iphone and allow the changes to see what changes were made. If the iphone actually changed anything, then you could delete all your contacts in address book, then import the vcards back in.
Also, keeping a back-up of your contacts and calendars is a pretty good idea.
    Hope this helps.
