Exchange 2007 smarthostdelivery missing

Hi,
Recently, I encountered this problem twice in a span of 3 weeks. We have configured our Exchange 2007 ( sp2 ) CAS/Hub to route outgoing mails to an antispam appliance. We have this done 5 years ago with no problem. Until recently, our users complained they
cannot send mails to external parties. Upon checking the Queue viewer, we found the smarthostdelivery missing and outgoing mails were stucked in the queue ( internal mails are ok). We were puzzled how this could have happened.  We have to restart the
server in order to get the mails to send out. Is the problem lies with the antispam or the Send connector has issues.
We appreciate any advice.
Thanks

You say there's no "smarthost" delivery queue, but you say the messages are "stucked in the queue". What queue (or queues) are they? Are there individual queues for each target domain (e.g. gmail.com, yahoo.com, ibm.com, Microsoft.com,
etc.)? Are the message in an "unreachable destination" queue?
If stopping and restarting the transport service doesn't work you may have a connectivity problem. Can you "telnet <smart-host-ip-address> 25" from the machine that's named as the source server in the send connector? Does disabling and enabling
the NIC restart the message delivery?
I think one other thing might be worth trying, and that's to have the messages resubmitted. That should happen if you change the list of smart hosts for the send connector. Try adding some address that doesn't exist in your LAN (e.g. 10.254.254.254) to the
list (it shouldn't be necessary to restart the transport after that, but it wouldn't hurt). If that gets things moving, go ahead and remove the unusable address.
IIRC, disabling and reenabling the send connector would also resubmit the messages.
If your send connector uses an IP address there's no DNS lookup done by the send connector.
There's no DNS lookup done for messages before they're dispatched to the send connector. The decision to route messages "to the outside" is based solely on whether or not the target address can be found in your directory, and whether or not
that address is assigned to a "local delivery" object (e.g. a mailbox, public folder, or DL). If the message can't be delivered locally it's sent to a send connector (of which you may have several). If the send connector has been set up to use
a smart host the messages are sent to the smart host (whose job is to figure out how to get the messages to the destination).

  • Exchange 2007: attachment missing in Outlook 2013 / owa but it was already opened

    Hi folks,
We are experiencing a problem with some emails that have attachment.
We have already opened that Excel attachment in the past weeks. Now, Outlook and also owa displays the icon of the attachment (paperclip) but when we open the email there isn’t the file.
It seems that something has removed the attachment from the Exchange server also if Outlook has already downloaded the file.
We are using Outlook 2013 and Exchange 2007.
Today also the paperclip has disappeared...that's very strange!
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks
    Diego

    Hi Diego,
From your description, I would like to verify if there are any tips when you open this problematic email. Such as "Outlook blocked access to the following potentially unsafe attachments:". If yes, please post the detailed information for my further
    research.

  • Symantec Mail Security with Exchange 2007 (Emails with Attachment missing)

    HI, i need help here
I have Win 2008 with Exchange 2007 and Symantec Mail Security. Symantec was working fine until the license expired but it was still fine until yesterday, we realize that we cannot receive email with attachment. after stopping the symantec services, mail
flow went back to normal. We then remove the program from the control panel.
Then i found that i cant retrieve or find those emails that was sent to us during a period of ard 6 hours. i tried looking the the Symantec quarantine folder but it is not there.
Can someone point to me where should i look for the missing mails? When i do a mail flow troubleshoot i can see the logs that it is sent to the mailbox, but from users's outlook inbox, there is no email ??
    Much Appreciated

Symantec's support group should be able to tell you what happened.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 database missing?? New install of Exchange 2007 co-exist

    Hi all,
Finally got Exchange 2013 SP1 installed except I am not so sure I have a database. This is installed on a Server 2008 system and is co-existing with Exchange 2007.
When I go to SERVERS and DATABASES I don't have anything listed. When I click SERVERS on the left hand pane and SERVERS at the top I see both servers, 2007 and 2013. But when I double click my new Exchange Server 2013 name I get the error:
The operation couldn't be performed because object '*\ExchangeServerName' couldn't be found on 'FirstDCName.mydomain.com'
Why would I get this error? The install itself was problematic so I am concerned something is broke.
    Thank you in advance.

    Hello,
Firstly, I recommend you check if the server name "*\ExchangeServerName" exists on DC via ADUC (select Computers).
Secondly, please run the get-exchangeserver | fl name cmdlet to check your exchange server name.
And then please check the exchange setup log to check if the exchange 2013 server is installed successfully. If not, please check if there is any error in setup log.

  • Migration questions from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013

    Dear Forum Members,
I'd ask just two short questions, regarding a migration from Small Business Server 2008 (Exchange 2007) to 2013. We installed the two Exchange 2013 servers, configured a DAG and updated every single URL (OWA, ECP, AnyWhere, Autodiscover etc.) to be a mail.domain.com
record (DNS round robin, since no HW load balancer :( )
Thankfully, the mail flow between the Internet and the other Exchange 2007 users are still working. Now for those users I've already migrated, if I check outlook connections there are several connections for GUID based servers via the DNS Round Robin
name proxy (the AnyWhere address). But I saw that there are still just one connection (type: Exchange Public Folders) to the old 2007 server. Is it okay? I'm a bit afraid to uninstall it because of this.
And the other thing: Based on what I wrote, do you think I've done it good? Or could I miss any important things? You are much experienced than me in these migrations so I hope that I can get some confirmation/advice here :(
ps: Is it good if I set NTLM authentication for Outlook AnyWhere?
Thank you really much for your help,
    Best Regards,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
Agree with Hinte, the user will still connect to the exchange 2007 server if there is a public folder database in the old server.
If the old public folders are no longer in use, you can delete the public folder database and create a new one in the exchange 2013 server, you can also consider migrating public folders to Exchange 2013 .

The Outlook Anywhere authentication method you choose will depend on a few factors in your environment,
I recommend you refer to the following thread to understand how to choose:

  • Migrating from Exchange 2007 to exchange 2013 ( special case )

    Hello ,
what is the BEST scenario ( fastest , most efficient , most secure in terms of data loss )  , to migrate from exchange 2007 ( one server , all exchange roles installed on this server , 1200 mailbox ) , to exchange 2013 ?
knowing my environment needs to be connected to their mailboxes , 24/7 !
    it's very frustrating .
and i have no clue even if this is the right place to post about this , if not please refer me as to where to post .
Also , All my domain controllers are 2008 .

It's fine to post your question here, and you are fine with Server 2008 Domain Controllers - that is a supported scenario.
If you haven't performed such an upgrade and you need to have 24/7 mailbox availability, I would seriously recommend you to duplicate the production environment on a test network and run through the upgrade at least once.
Most people neglect the Outlook clients requirements - they need to be updated and include several specific updates, which allow the automatic reconfiguration of internal clients. If you are preparing for this upgrade, you should be aware that all internal
Outlook clients switch to Outlook Anywhere. Clients that miss these updates will get connectivity problems.
Another common problem is the configuration of the Exchange URL - I mean the Exchange 2013 URL and the modified Exchange 2007 URL that will allow the co-existence. In your case, you definitely need to plan for co-existence - that includes requesting and
installing a new Exchange UCC (Multiple Domain Certificate) on both Exchange servers, configuring Split DNS (or preferably PinPoint DNS zones), and correct timing when replacing the existing Certificate on the Exchange 2007 server. Failure to configure the
correct URL (and it's quite easy to miss one, so triple check them) will get you in trouble.
Once you get through the switchover (switching the mail flow and Client Access through the Exchange 2013 server), move just a couple of test mailboxes and check the result.
Finally, if you are moving the Public Folders, make sure that the lock is really applied before you complete the process. Most people proceed right away and that get's the process stuck. If you can afford it (the mailboxes are already on the Exchange 2013
server at that point), just restart the Exchange 2007 server (after locking the Public Folders) and then complete the Public Folder migration.
    Good Luck with the project!

  • Moving from Exchange 2007 to 2013 (leaving the DNS Server for it's own dedicated server)

Hello! I am quite new to Exchange and Server management in general. I will do my best to explain my situation.
I am looking to move my Exchange server off of our DNS server. When we installed them on the same server, we did not have the funds to buy 2 separate servers. I am told that it is best to separate the two. I have followed the Microsoft instructions for installing
the prerequisites for Exchange 2013 on a 2012 R2 server, and i am at the point where it wants me to configure AD LDS. As I have active directory running on the current server, I was a little hesitant to just install it without understanding what i am doing.
After the AD LDS is configured, I believe i can move forward with installing Exchange 2013 (all 3 roles will be hosted on the new server), export the mailboxes from 2007 server and import them into the new Exchange 2013 server. After 2013 is up and stable,
I plan on removing 2007 from the old server (DNS server).
What are my next steps after importing the mailboxes? Am i missing important details that I need to change or migrate?
My biggest fear is that nothing works after the installation and moving the mailboxes over. For that case, it makes sense to keep 2007 installed as a fallback for when my installation fails and all i have lost is just my time :)
    Current Server:
Windows Server 2008 Standard (64 bit)
    1. Roles: Active Directory, DNS, IIS
    2. Software: Exchange 2007
    New Server:
    Windows 2012 R2 Server
    1. Roles: ???
    1. Software to install: Exchange 2013
Thank you for any help you can provide!

These are good resources, but i am still caught up with the active directory issue.  Am I able to keep the old Domain/DNS/Active directory on it's current server and move Exchange 2007 off onto a new server (with Exchange 2013)?
In the first example, he is moving everything (domain controller, exchange, users, etc) onto a different server and decommissioning it.I've been told that it would be better practice to keep the domain and exchange on 2 different servers. Is this true?
I go to run commands like:
    .\setup /PrepareAD /OrganizationName: orgname /IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms
on the new exchange server, as a prerequisite and it doesnt recognize the command - even after following the steps before. Is this because the new server is not a domain controller? does it have to be? What are the best practices for setting up a server(s)
    with exchange + domain controller?
    Thanks for responding.

  • MS Exchange 2007 - 64 bit and Entourage Client issue

    Hi guys -
I'm a new one with Mac and I have got this problem so far:
I have Exchange 2007 on 32 and 64 bit platforms
from the Entourage I can see all mailboxes that are on Exchange 32 bit server and no issues at all here... I just go and add Exchange account and that's it...
but the problem is when I do the same for any mailbox which is sitting on Exchange 64 bit server -> nothing happens no errors, nothing... I don't see anything at all...
The question is: what I have missed here? or perhaps, it's not supported yet... Is there any kind of workaround
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Since Entourage is not an Apple product, you'll get better response if you use a forum dedicated to Microsoft's Mac products such as <http://groups.google.com/groups/dir?sel=33607053> rather than an Apple forum.
Be sure to search the forum first in case someone has already had a similar question answered. You'll get your answer faster this way. Post your question in the forum if you don't find anything that helps you.

  • Server 2003 R2 DC migration to 2008 R2 worked? but exchange 2007 has stopped

    Hi everyone,
This is a single DC running on Server 2003 R2 which I migrated to a fresh install of Server 2008 R2. This appears to have worked without issue. DNS is working dcdiag and netdiag didn't report problems.
When I demote the 2003 server however Exchange 2007 stops working. It appears that it is still looking to talk to the 2003 server based on this
EVENT ID: 2012 All DC Servers in use are not responding DC.mydomain.com
Can anyone help fix this issue pls. I cant find where Exchange has stored the old domain name.
    TYIA

TY both for taking the time to reply.
I have gotten to the problem. The fact you both pointed me to event 2080 was instrumental in guiding me down the right path. Once I read this MS article I could see the new DC was missing
the SACL rights. This was a tad frustrating as I had previously checked that Manage auditing and security log was correctly configured in the Default Domain Controllers Policy, was applied to Domain
computers and the new server was in the correct container.
However when your up to your ass in a croc filled swamp you sometimes forget the odd thing; I didn't run RSOP, if I had at the time, I would have never have had to post for help. Yes you guessed it the policy wasn't enabled!! A quick enable and gpupdate
    /force and all was well.
Still, always the optimist, I learned about event 2080, and uncovered and fixed problems with the clients servers where they had ghost nics....
Just to clarify in case others read this post.
    This wan't SBS
It was a single DC domain running on server 2003 R2 x64
    Exchange 2007 running on a seperate server 2003 R2 x64.
The domain name didn't change. What I meant was the new DC had a different name
the New DC is a fresh install of server 2008 R2,  IPv6 is enabled
The old DC had adprep /forestprep then adprep /domainprep run on it
The 5 fsmo roles were moved from the old DC to the 2008 DC
Just need to move DHCP and other bits n pieces and job done :)
    Thanks for the help

  • Restore Exchange 2007 SP3 to Windows 2008 R2 from Windows 2003

Perhaps I'm being dense, but I had Exchange 2007 SP3 installed on a Windows 2003 Server, and I've used "setup /mode:recoverserver" to restore it to a Windows 2008 R2 server... how do I restore the databases which I backed up with the Windows backup tool
    on 2003?
I installed KB974674, the restore tool onto the 2008 R2 server but when I try and restore the backup it comes up with "this feature is no longer supported".  Something I'm missing here?

These things marked as answers are not answers.
I have now thoroughly tested using setup /mode:recoverserver and it works fine going from Windows 2003 to Windows 2008 R2 with Exchange 2007 SP3, done several installations now without a problem.
"Setup /m:RecoverServer cannot be used across operating systems. A server that was originally running Windows Server 2003 can be recovered only on Windows Server 2003, and a server that was originally running Windows Server 2008 can
be recovered only on Windows Server 2008."
This appears to be wrong, unless someone can tell me why it's right (I haven't tried moving Unified Messaging yet).  I've done it to 2008 R2 several times now and also in the other direction, from 2008 R2 to 2003, I can't find anything that didn't work
afterward, although I haven't really thoroughly tested OWA yet, I admit (but it does appear to be working).
I think that documentation is out-of-date as it doesn't mention R2 plus I think it was written before SP3 came out and that paragraph is just wrong.
Basically how I do it is like this:
Dismount databases from the 2003 server and copy the storage group folders to a network location or removable media.
Install the Windows 2008 R2 server using the same machine account that was being used by the 2003 server.  Install the prerequisites needed for Exchange 2007 SP3 installation on 2008 R2 (note in addition to the IIS components and RPC over HTTP this
also requires the AD tools in RSAT, which I haven't found mentioned in technical documentation).  Install the relevant windows updates.
Install Exchange 2007 SP3 using setup /mode:recoverserver  Install the update rollup.
Copy the storage groups into the relevant folders on the new server and mount them.  Migrate any relevant certificates (e.g. for ActiveSync).
Obviously then check it all over with the diagnostic tools and check it with EXBPA.  The backups are obviously totally different, but really I think you should be using DPM anyway.
To me that was pretty easy to do, to be honest.  About 1.5 on a scale of one to ten.  Basically install it, recover it, copy over some files and mount them.
Seriously on a halfway decent server I've done it in under an hour.

  • Public Folder Migration from Exchange 2007 to Exchage 2007

    Dear All,
We are having 2 exchange 2007 server in single copy cluster (SCR) with 1 branch exchange server in parent domain and another Ex2007 single copy cluster in child domain. We have deployed exchange 2013 SP1 in parent domain with ex2007 co-existence. We have
migrated all parent domain users mailbox from Ex2007 to Ex2013 SP1. All Ex2007 have public folders (FP). We want to decommission public folder server in parent domain and want to keep PF only in child domain (Ex2007) which should be accessible by all users.
We are facing a strange issue. As told earlier, in parent domain for ex2007 we have 2 Server in single copy cluster + 1 branch. Both have 1 FP each. We want to remove branch 1st. We ran "MoveAllReplica.ps1" script on branch to move all replica
to single copy cluster. Now it shows system folder with all 0 contents as shown below:
    [PS] C:\Windows\system32>Get-PublicFolderStatistics -Server branch
    Name                                     ItemCount
    LastAccessTime

    3C1F6820}
    Nntp Control Folder                      0                 10/8/2010 3:22:12
    AM
Now the issue is, if we dismount the FP store on branch server, all users are unable to access their FP. they get error saying exchange is down for maintenance. If we see connection status then we saw that its trying to connect branch FP server. In all client
setting we have removed branch server PF folder. What are we missing? Now our users who migrated to Ex2013 don't have any FP client setting also to look into. We tried reading lots of stuff but nothing seems to fix. Any advise is highly appreciated.
Feel free to revert for any clarity!!
    Thanks in advance!!

    Dear All,
We did little research and below are the results:
    1. After moving Mailbox from SingleCopyCluster(SCC) DB to Ex2013, the user while connecting to PF connects to branch exchange PFs (where is his client setting points to SCC PF). He can access PF on SCC as well
    2. If we discount branch PF DB, user gets error "Exchange server down for maintenance" while expanding PF. If we see connection status then it shows trying to connecting to Branch PF
    3. If we move the mailbox back to old Ex2007 SCC, users connects to right PF (only SCC) and can work without issue even if we discount branch PF DB
As we have migrated MBX to Ex2013, there is no client setting to point migrated users to SCC PF.
Hope it help all of you to suggest what might fix this..
    Thanks again..

I used a portlet you created first but not in trunk. (as sakai-dash.war

Now, i have changed my connection type by connecting Campus VPN server with

So, like i said, the situation is changing due to unknown reason.

    That's all.
Thank you for your response Charles !

    Hi Charles,
I used a portlet you created first but not in trunk. (as sakai-dash.war

From catalina.out i get following logs.First, as always i get:

By the way, we are using Cisco CSS (Content Switch) for Load Balancing
    process.
Behind CSS, there is apache server and application server installed on two
servers which mentioned in this page
    http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/DOC/Sakai+2.4+Admin+Guide+-LoadBalancing+and+Scaling
    http://confluence.sakaiproject.org/confluence/display/DOC/Sakai+2.4+Admin+Guide+-LoadBalancing+and+Scaling
    as thin client .
    CSS DNS address = sucourse.sabanciuniv.edu
App server DNS address = sakws1.sabanciuniv.edu and sakws2.sabanciuniv.edu
It is enough to type sucourse.sabanciuniv.edu address in web browser.
Their sakai.properties files are similar. However, there are following
parameters that i didn't use in my sakai.properties file. May be i should
    use them. !!

Now, i have changed my connection type by connecting Campus VPN server

The command that seems to be causing problems for Exchange is this one:
    A4 APPEND "Sakai-Dev List" (\Deleted \Seen NonJunk) "21-Aug-2007 16:37:20 -0400" {7024+}
As far as I can see, there's nothing wrong with the syntax of that command.
My first guess is that Exchange is unhappy with the flags. Possibly
it refuses to append a message with the \Deleted flag set. If you're
willing to modify the flags in the source mailbox, I would try turning
off the DELETED flag. Or, try not copying deleted messages.
If that doesn't work, the next thing to try is to get rid of all of the
flags. You might want to copy the message into a local copy
in order to lose all the flags from the original.

  • PowerShell Exchange 2007 Question To count up the total number of email addresses (view/hidden) per GAL

    Hello All:
I am very new to Power Shell and need some help:
I have 224 GAL's on our Exchange System (Ex 2007) where, I need to count the total number of email addresses/display names assigned to each GAL.  I am not sure how to set up a for-next loop in PowerShell.  I am not sure how to set a  input
file/variable, with the names of each GAL.  (GAL is Global Address List)
I think it's $GALLIST = 'NameofGal1, NameofGal2, etc thru to NameofGaln' where n is the last GAL in the list.
So I need to now a command which would get all the gal names (Get-AddressList(?) for all the GAL's in the Exchange System and then pipe them into a function to count the number of email addresses.
In making a start with the following code and got stuck:
    Get-Mailbox | Where {$_.GlobalAddressList -eq “GAL” -and $_.} | Select-Object Displayname, EmailAddresses, count
Missing or invalid property reference or expression.
    At line:1 char:71
    + Get-Mailbox | Where {$_.GlobalAddressList -eq "GAL" -and $_.} <<<<  | Select-Object Displayname, EmailAddresses, count
I think I know how to pipe the results to a csv file - with - Export-Csv  -path c:\filename.csv - NoTypeInformation.
Please can someone advise.  Please help.
    Thanks in advance
PS - is there a way to access, read and display variable name and value which stores the number of email addresses/per GAL in exchange 2007 database so you don't have carry out a count exercise.  Because this metadata will be in the Exchange DB?
Would this be easier to get?
    Started building conditional statement:
    Get-Mailbox | Where {$_.GlobalAddressList -eq "GAL" AND {{HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $True} OR {HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $False}} |
    If {{HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $True} | Select-Object Displayname, EmailAddresses, count ELSE {HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $False}} | Select-Object Displayname, EmailAddresses, count
    ENDIF
    Export-Csv -path c:\test.csv -NoTypeInformation
Will this work?  Checking to see how to do a for-next loop.
    $GAL = Get-GlobalAddressList
    foreach($GAL IN $GAL)
    Get-Mailbox | Where {$_.GlobalAddressList -eq $GAL AND {{HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $True} OR {HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $False}} |
If {{HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $True} | Select-Object Displayname, EmailAddresses, count AS "Count of Hidden Addresses" ELSE {HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $False}} | Select-Object Displayname, EmailAddresses, count AS "Count of
    Visible Addresses" |
    Export-Csv -path c:\test.csv -NoTypeInformation |
not sure if this works and looks spaghetti -like!

    Hi Everton,
In addition, If you want to export GlobalAddressList, please refer to the script below:
    $filter = (Get-GlobalAddressList 'Default Global Address List').RecipientFilter
    #filter HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled is ture
    Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter $filter | Where-Object {$_.HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $ture} | Select-Object Name,PrimarySmtpAddress
    #filter HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled is false
    Get-Recipient -RecipientPreviewFilter $filter | Where-Object {$_.HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $false} | Select-Object Name,PrimarySmtpAddress
    Refer to:
How to Export the Exchange 2010 Default Global Address List (GAL)
If there is anything else regarding this issue, please feel free to post back.
    Best Regards,
    Anna Wang

  • Is there a problem using CFPOP in CF MX 7 with Exchange 2007?

We have a scheduled task that checks a mailbox and, depending
on the request, responds to the sender with information from our
contact database. It has worked fine for several years using CF MX
7 Standard and MS Exchange 2000. We just changed to MS Exchange
2007 and we get an error as follows: "Logon failure: unknown user
name or bad password." We can access the mailbox directly from
Exchange using the account and password, so we think we are passing
    the correct information (example below).
    <CFPOP ACTION="GetHeaderOnly" SERVER="192.168.1.15"
    USERNAME="testaccount" PASSWORD="testpassword" NAME="getMail">
Is there something we're missing? We are certain that the IP,
account and password are still correct. We have assigned this mail
server to the Mail tab in CF Administrator and it can see it and
    route CFMAILs through it.
    Any help is appreciated.

We discovered that Exchange 2007 has five specific steps that
have to occur in a particular order for CFPOP to resume working
properly. We did this (despite several security issues) because
this function is strictly internal. Not recommended for an
application available to the general public.
Steps for making Exchange 2007 work for CFPOP:
    1) Start the POP service on the Exchange 2007 server.
    2) Allow the necessary email accounts to use POP3.
    3) Lower the security requirements on those accounts to allow
CF to send clear text instead of encrypted (SSL) requests to POP3.
    4) Set the Exchange server to allow relay.
    5) Lower the security requirements for relay.
I hope I explained this correctly. This is how my network
    supervisor explained it to me.

  • Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2010 Cross Forest

    Hi
We have a scenario where we have an Exchange 2007 organization (Org A - Source) and a separate Exchange 2010 organization (Org B - Target). Both the organizations (AD Forests) have two way trusts between them.
We want to have our Exchange 2007 users have their mailboxes hosted on Exchange 2010 organization. Meaning that the user (AD) accounts of Org A will remain in Forest A but there mailboxes will be available on Exchange 2010 servers in Org B. So we don’t need
a user / group migration stuff here and mailbox data on Exchange 2007 servers is also not critical (not required to be migrated) so we will be creating new disabled accounts and mailboxes in Org B for each user in Org A and connect the mailboxes. There will
be a brief period of co-existence between two Orgs (to enable mail-flow) until all the users have their mailboxes active in Org B. Need to figure out a way to achieve this.
We are planning to follow the steps below:
Setup name resolution between the forests (although basic connectivity is there and we can ping servers in one forest using IP Addresses from other forest) –
Please suggest if this is necessary or we can get away with it?
Setup SMTP namespace sharing for Exchange 2007 SMTP Domain name
Add Exchange 2007 SMTP domain as authoritative domain to E2K10
Create EAP for new SMTP Domain
SMTP Connector Creation for Direct E-mail Routing (Co-exist) Between Forests
Create disabled Mail Enabled (not Mailbox Enabled) User or Mail Enabled Contact in Org B.
Can we use Prepare-MoveRequest.ps1 script to create these?
Once a mail enabled user / contact is created in Org B for all the users, change incoming traffic from Internet for Org A SMTP domain to hit HT server in Org B
Make changes to Exchange 2010 certificate and install new certificate
Select a batch of users every day, create new mailbox for them using scripts in Org B and delete the corresponding contact in Org B
Can someone please confirm if this is correct and point out something I am missing?
Is there any other way to achieve the same goal?
    Thanks

    Hi Everyone
Thanks for the inputs so far. I need to confirm some steps to establish direct email flow unless all the mailboxes are created in target organization, can somebody have a look at the steps below and confirm if they are correct or add something that
    I missed here:
    Setup source Exchange organization:
    a) Add unique SMTP domain for source organization, like @source.local. This domain will be added to all mail enabled objects in this organization and will be used for internal routing only
         i) Add to Accepted Domains list
ii) Create EAP to add domain to existing objects
    b) Use manual means to stamp SMTP domain to objects in source organization on objects that don’t have EmailAddressPolicyEnabled set to False
    c) Create Send Connector to target forest. The target domain should also have a unique e-mail address, like @target.company.com (in our case 19 SMTP domains including JUBL.COM)
         i) Include the valid SMTP domains and the unique one for internal routing
             (source.local)
ii) Point to a smart host in the target forest
    d) Set existing SMTP domain (JubilantRetail.com) as “Internal Relay Domain”. The target Exchange org will be authoritative for this domain
    Setup target Exchange organization
    a) Create Send Connector to unique SMTP domain in source forest. Includes shared name space (source.local) and @JubilantRetail.com
    b) Set Default receiver connector, being used by source forest, to allow anonymous connections
    c) Add shared SMTP domain (source.local) to Accepted Domains list as authoritative
    d) Create EAPs to replicate the SMTP domains (e:g JubilantRetail.com and source.local) in the source environment
    Thanks
