Exchange 2007 when sending a calendar invite, a non-existent delegate shows up in an undeliverable message

I had a test user that was removed. When it was removed, it was still listed as a delegate on someone's email. Now, whenever a Calendar invite is sent to the existing user, the sender receives an undeliverable message. The existing user does not receive
notification of a calendar event, but the event does show up in the calendar.

Hi,
If the delegate user account or mailbox has been removed from domain or Exchange server, please also remove the delegate settings with this account.
If a user is set as a delegate for a manager, the meeting request which is send to the Manager would be forwarded to the delegate automatically and ask for approving in the delegate side.
Please do the following steps in the Manager’s Outlook client to remove the delegate settings for this non-existent delegate:
1. Open the Manager’s Outlook.
2. Click File > Account Settings > Delegate Access.
3. In the Delegate list, click the non-existent delegate, click Remove.
4. Click OK to save the settings.
Then check whether the issue persists.

  • When sending a calendar invite to any email address (regardless of provider) that is associated with an Apple ID will not get the invite. Any email address not associated with Apple ID will. Why? Using iOS 6.0.1, iPad, iPhone and PC.

I have sent an invite to an email associated to an Apple ID and that email never received the invite. I then changed the email associated with the receiving Apple ID to something new and removed the original email address (the original email address is no longer associated with any apple ID even as the alternate). I then cancelled the first appointment, created a new appointment and again invited the original email address. That original email address then received the canceled appointment notification and the new appointment invite. This problem is not just with my Apple ID (sending or receiving) but several other people that have tested sending iCloud invites to other Apple ID users. Any thoughts?

    Hi Stateler74,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.  You might be able to find the Apple ID that her email address is associated with by following this article's instructions:

  • How do i send a calendar invite

how do i send a calendar invite from the iphone?

The only documentation that comea withe iPhone is a quick start guide. The full manual is online. The section on the calendar says:
    Invitations
If you have an iCloud account, a Microsoft Exchange account, or a supported CalDAV account, you can send and receive meeting invitations.
so if you calendar is not one of the above (on the server side) is not one of the above you can't send invitations
As to when Apple will add the ability we are all just users so we would have no idea but it's not up to apple as it's having the support for invitations in the underlying calendar system

  • ICal Sending Repeat Calendar Invitations

I setup a recurring calendar invitation in iCal, and it sent half a dozen invitations after the initial invitation was accepted. What's going on?

I am having the same issue when sending iCal event invitations to Outlook users (both are on macs). They just don't receive any email invite to reply to, so remain unaware of the event.
I cannot see a way of checking whether they have even been sent, as non-Outlook users receive the invite emails fine.
Is there a log somewhere that lists the invites sent out perhaps?
I can't believe it's impossible to invite an Outlook user to an event via iCal on a mac, any suggestions would be gratefully received.
I'm using OSX 10.7.5. iCal is linked to an iCloud account that used to be a MobileMe account.
I tried following the instructions in: http://www.ehow.com/how_5887667_send-ical-invites-outlook.html, but couldn't get the code to "compile" without errors, so reverted to the original.

  • How do I choose which email address to send a calendar invite from?

I use iCalendar for business.  I don't want to send company calendar invites with my personal @.mac account.  Years ago I had a Bberry and could choose which email address to send it from while creating a meeting in the calendar.  Is this not possible with Apple Technology?

Open Mail app. Click where it says mail on the upper left corner of the screen, choose preferences choose accounts tab on the top then select the account you don't want anymore and click the - button at the bottom.

Why is it they claim to sell you something they do NOT intend on allowing you access to for the life of your account?
It is not Apple that decides this. Since Apple is just the retailer, they do not own the copyrights to the content they sell on the iTunes store, if the copyright owner decides to remove something from the store that you have purchased Apple must abide by the terms of their licenseing agreements and remove it. Regretablly this also removes the items from your purchase history. This is why it is up to you to download and backup all of your purchases if you wish to maintain your investment.
In the Apple KB article Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore and iTunes Store, and in many other places, it is clearly stated:
It is recommended that you always back up your iTunes library in the event that a purchased item is no longer available on the iTunes Store. For more information about backing up your library, see this article.

  • How do I send a calendar invite from my phone to a non-Apple device (PC using Outlook) in a non-iCloud format?

I have searched but haven't come up with an answer yet.
Here's my situation:  I use multiple calendars across multiple platforms (work and home, Exchange & iCal).  To keep them in sync, I send an invite to one or the other (work email / personal email).  While I can fairly reliably send an email from work (Outlook / Exchange) to my iCal via email (using Mail on iPhone, iPad or MacAir), I cannot do the reverse.  The culprit, per se, is our corporate security policies.  Since the invite comes from iCloud and to accept it (and have it added to my calendar), I have to communicate with iCloud.  But alas, said communication is blocked (corporate stance:  since it's possible to do file sharing it's been tagged as such and blocked).
While I would love to change the corporate policy, I am unable to do so
So, my question is how do I change the invite to not come from iCloud?  I tried switching off iCal sync in iCloud, but when I do, the invitation option within iCal no longer exists.
Is there a preference switch somewhere that I am missing?

Is the message saying to log into iCloud on her device and not only a computer?
To use iCloud on a you must have an Apple device that can use iCloud.
To enable iCloud on your Windows PC (Windows 7 or 8 required), first set up your iCloud account on your other iOS devices or Mac, then install iCloud for Windows.

  • HT5567 Iphones and Ipads with IOS 6.0.x and later getting Calendar invitation even so that Delegate access is enable on exchange 2010 and outlook 2010

I'm Running Exchange 2010 with outlook 2010 in my environment, since Apple OS went from 5.x to 6.x I been having issues where the Iphones and Ipads running OS version 6.x or higher do not acknowledge that the exchange user has a calendar delegate and are automatically accepting the invitations, not allowing the Delegate to acknowledge first, If this test is run on any Apple devices running OS Version 5.x but less than 6.x the issue is not there.. any one that may have encounter with this situation got a fix or a possible resolution on it.. Thanks

Ok, well after looking at everything, I decided that the best solution was to uninstall an App called "Tango", as it seemed to 'mess' with contacts directly, and I only use it with 1 person, so switching back to Skype (plus Tango sends/shares lots of personal
info, location, and keeps changing it's access rights and doing stuff when you're not looking - I'm sure some people love it, but for me, it's a belts and braces get rid of anything that might have 'contributed' to this issue).
Found my un-sync'd contacts and emailed them to myself, then deleted the Exchange active-sync account. Checked what was left, found google had managed to sync some stuff, cleared that up too!
RE-created the account on the S4 - only need the email and password, as it finds the server and sets itself up automatically (I guess it did that previously).
All is now working, after about 5mins the data had been re-populated and it sync's new changes instantly. But I will monitor from time to time to check that new contacts or added numbers etc do sync. My best guess is that some index or other data became corrupt.
Just one of those things (or had I been tango'd?!).
On the Truncating Notes Issue, the S4 (realised that it's running Android 4.3) does chop a note but only if edited, at 1001 chrs. However unlike others, it seems to only truncate the note if you actually edit the note field, so adding a phone number or removing
one, leaves the note field intact!
To summaries other devices behaviour with the Contact record Notes Field:
    - iPhone 3GS (on iOS 6.1.3) truncates at 32,777 chrs (so pretty big notes!)
    - Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (GT-N8020 - Android 4.1.1) chops at about 1,000chrs, even if just adding a phone number to the contact - so not even editing the notes field
    - HTC One X (4.2.2) at 5,122 chrs (when editing any part of the contact)
I hope this might help someone in the future if they have similar problems ...
    cheers

    Hi Scot,
Providing some information on Poison Queue:
The poison message queue is a special queue that's used to isolate messages that are determined to be harmful to the Exchange system after a transport server or service failure.
The messages may be genuinely harmful in their content and format.
Alternatively, they may be the results of a poorly written agent that has caused the Exchange server to fail when it processed the supposedly bad messages.
The poison message queue is typically empty. If the poison message queue contains no messages it doesn't appear in Queue Viewer or
Get-Queue results. The messages in the poison message queue are never automatically resumed or expired. Messages remain in the poison message queue until they're manually resumed or removed by an administrator.
According to the description above, I suspect Outlook 2007 changed the email's format when send email with attachment. The reason as below:
If the original email's (with attachment) content or format is harmful to the Exchange 2007 server, it will go to the Poison Queue when sending via OWA. However it didn't, sending via OWA is perfect. So I suspect it is an issue on the Outlook 2007
    client side.
Please using Pipeline Tracing to verify whether there is something changed during transmission.
More details in the following article:
Using Pipeline Tracing to Diagnose Transport Agent Problems
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125198(v=exchg.80).aspx
If it is convenient, I suggest doing following tests to narrow down this issue:
Note: Same content, same attachment, same format.
    1. Please using Outlook 2010/2013 or others' Outlook clients for testing.
    2. Please change to another format for testing. More details in the following article:
Change the message format to HTML, Rich Text, or plain text

  • Exchange 2007 Multiple Send Connector Cost Best Practice

    Hi,<o:p></o:p>
I am running exchange 2007 SP2 and have 2x exchange connectors set up with an equal default cost of 1.<o:p></o:p>
Connector 1 is set to * address space and should forward all emails to two email security/management servers<o:p></o:p>
Connector 2 is set to a internal sub domain server whose purpose is to file the emails on a CMS.  Emails are marked for "filing" when
the Outlook plugin adds the connector 2's subdomain address into the bcc field.<o:p></o:p>
What I want to clarify is if I was to change the cost of Connector 1 to 0 would all mail then only be routed via this connector?<o:p></o:p>
I presume it would ignore the 2nd connector because the 1st connector's address space is *  and thus no emails would route through connector
2 and therefore be filed to CMS ?<o:p></o:p>
What would the best practice be for the costs of each connector ??<o:p></o:p>
    Thanks<o:p></o:p>
    Mat<o:p></o:p>

I don't believe that 0 is a valid cost for a connector (I get an error if I try to see a connector with that).  If you have two connectors, Exchange will send to the one that matches the address space most correctly.  If you had no second connector,
connector 1 would attempt delivery to your CMS.  Since you have that second connector, those messages will be delivered by it.
Connector costs are normally used when you have multiple connectors with the SAME address space, and allows Exchange to fail from one to another when the preferred is not operational for some reason.  For example, if you have an ISDN line as your backup
Internet connection, you want to give connectors that use it a higher cost than your MPLS connections use.
I'll add that in most environments I've worked for the past several years, this redirection is handled at the network layer rather than the application layer.

  • When I get calendar invites there is no option to accept them

I have this issue on both my iPad and iPhone.  When i get a calendar invite in my inbox (for example an exhange invite *.ics) there is no option to accept the invitation.  I can open the event in mail, and view teh details, but there is no way to accept it.  The invite also does not show up as an "invitation" in my calendar, althought it does show up in the actual calendar as an event that has not been accepted.

Just got iPhone 4s and have the exact same problem. These are all Exchange invites done by my assistant from her Outlook. I already exchanged to a new unit and the problem persists. What's more frustrating is that some invites work and some dont. Most do exactly as you describe. No option to accept/decline and go straight to my calendar while the invite on my Outlook sitll shows as unaccepted. The same problem exists if I open the actual iphone calendar notification or the attachment on the email sent by Exchange. It is extremely frustrating.
I have tried everything to try to analyze what is causing this and cant seem to get to the bottom of it and cannot explain the randomness of the problem. I am so dissapointed that iPhone and all its hype cant seem to get plain business functionality as good as Blackberry.
Would love to hear comments on this.

  • Send iCloud Calendar invites from main Apple ID address

I have recently started using all the iCloud services and have noticed that when I send calendar invitations to people, it sends from (myUsername)@me.com. Is there a way to change the email address that sent invites go from so that if is sent from my primary apple ID email address or another alternative address. Please help me, thanks.

I have the same problem. There isn't anything serious, but I am a bit angry for it :-)

  • When declining a calendar invite, how do I propose an alternative time or add a note?

Using Apple's calendar, how do I decline a calendar invite and propose an alternative time and include a note?

No, I seemed to only get the three options Accept, Decline and Maybe. There are times when I want to decline with a note of why or decline and propose a different time.

  • Unable to access public folders on Exchange 2007 when user mailbox is on Exchange 2013

    Hi
I have coexistence with Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2013. I've moved a mailbox to Exchange 2013 and now cannot view the public folders on Exchange 2007. The error message I get is "could not connect to the public folder server. microsoft exchange is
not available. either there are network problems or the exchange server is down for maintenance."
Mailboxes on Exchange 2007 do not have any problems viewing public folders. I can't migrate users to Exchange 2013 until this issue is resolved.
The IIS permissions to the Public virtual directory on Exchange 2007 is set to Intergrated Windows and Basic authentication.

    Hi northerly,
I recommend you follow the steps below for troubleshooting:
    1. Please run the Get-OutlookAnywhere cmdlet to verify the Outlook Anywhere settings on Exchange Server 2013 Client Access servers.
    2. If "ExternalHostName" is set, and "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" is Negotiate, change "ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate.
    3. If "InternaClientlAuthenticationMethod" is set to Negotiate, and "InternalRequireSSL" is True, change "InternalClientAuthenticationMethod" to something other than Negotiate, or change "InternalRequireSSL" to False.
What's more, here is a helpful KB for your reference.
Users of Exchange Server 2013 or Exchange Online can't open public folders or shared mailboxes on an Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2007 server

  • Exchange Server 2013 SP1 - Readiness Check Failing - Detected Non-existent Exchange 2007 Servers

For development purposes, I needed to install Exchange Server 2013 in our environment.  Our current environment includes a couple Domain Controllers, a Sharepoint Server, and a SQL Server.  So, it's got a very simple topology.  The one thing
our environment does NOT have are current Exchange servers.
During the "Prerequisite Analysis" phase of the install it complained that two servers, that I can find nowhere in our active directory domain, are running Exchange 2007.  Obviously, this presents some unique problems.  Perhaps as a test
many years ago, someone installed Exchange 2007 to "play" with, but we've never run Exchange for any length of time.
So, this is quite the conundrum, given the above does anyone have any suggestions as to a potential solution?  Ideally, I'd like to be able to "lift the covers" and cleanup the references to the non-existent servers somehow, but ANY suggestions
    for fixes are MUCH appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Nate

Here is the thing I would do (Only if I am not going to have any exchange 2007 ever in the environment).
On any of windows server 2008 download
    Exchange 2010 SP3
Extract the file and run the below command:
    Setup.com /ps
This will make Exchange 2013 install. Also Deleting Exchange Administrator Group wouldn't help as Setup will look for the information about schema into AD.
