Exchange 2010 ECP Not Responding with IE 10

I noticed that I can no longer manage external contacts or distribution groups with IE 10 on my Windows 7 computers.  The external contacts icon is doesn't respond and if I try clicking on it, IE 10 hangs and says there is a long-running script.
I've done everything I can think of with the browser.  Did a full reset of IE, disabled all add-ins, disabled antivirus, rebooted.
Same problem.
I tried with Firefox and it still works fine there.
I don't have problems with other sites.  I can open my mailbox throw OWA with no errors.  I only have the IE crashing problem when I go to /ECP and try clicking on icons such as External Contacts.
What could be causing this issue?

Hi,
From your description, I recommend you add the ECP/OWA site to the "Compatibility Mode" and check the result.
In IIS ---> Go to ECP/OWA Virtual directory --> Under HTTP Response header --> remove X-UA-Compatible value="IE=EmulateIE7"
Hope this can be helpful to you.

    Hello,
We have the following problem with one mailbox of our 90. (This mailbox has been deleted 1 week ago and was reconnected to the AD User)
The user can successfull access to OWA, but can't access to his "Options" (/ecp/). It appears a "permission denied" message.

  • Securing publishing exchange 2010 OWA and ActiveSync with WAP 2012

    Hello,
my client have the following environment:
    Exchange 2010 sp3
    AD 2003
we want to secure activesync and owa by using reverse proxy. TMG/UAG life ends 2015, then we study WAP 2012 and ADFS 3.0. the difficulties is there is not enough experience feedback, specially for this environnement.
    Is there any incompatibility ?
do you know good articles and blogs which address this issue ?
    Thanks in advance

Are any other options available since posting in June 2014?  Specifically for securing ActiveSync connections from smartphones on the Internet.  We are running Exchange 2010 in AD 2008
TMG has already transitioned from mainstream to extended support.  Not only is there less support now, to my understanding there is still a licensing cost for this product.  Paying for a product at EOL seems inadvisable.
Web Access Protocol (WAP) looked like the right choice, but to secure communications from domain users on unknown devices over the Internet requires Exchange 2013 which is "claims aware".  Exchange 2010 is not and what we are left with is
configuring WAP in pass-thru mode, allowing unauthenticated Internet traffic into our internal network where the Exchange CAS server is.
Is there any Microsoft solution to authenticate the user before allowing the user's device to connect to our CAS server on our internal network.

When I open Firefox, it goes to the first page I open, but then stops and says "Not Responding" with the mouse cursor spinning. I hit the close button and it says Windows is searching for a solution (which doesn't come).
When I open Firefox again, it says:
    Well, this is embarrassing.
Firefox is having trouble recovering your windows and tabs. This is usually caused by a recently opened web page.
    You can try:
Removing one or more tabs that you think may be causing the problem
Starting an entirely new browsing session
Any ideas? I gretly appreciate any help. Thanks!!

    What is that first page?
Can't you open any web pages in Firefox?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Outlook 2010 Profiles Not Creating with Exchange 2010 Backend

In an enterprise environment.  Issue has been replicated on multiple Windows Terminal Servers, with multiple accounts.
With multiple accounts have recreated the user profiles from scratch, and launched outlook 2010.  The profile does not autocreate, it was working in production about a week ago.  Windows Updates were applied for December 2014.
Does anyone know if a Local Windows Client side patch would cause Outlook 2010 not to resolve a profile correctly.  Could this be the outlook mapi rpc issue that was part of RU8.  Have searched several hundred artciles on this on google and twitter
in the last weeks time frame and cannot find anywhere online that lists excatly what a user experiences when RU8 fails.  Have not heard back from the Exchange administrator if RU8 was deployed.  There are also multiple Windows Updates for December

Might be having exactly the same issue as this guy.

There are known issues with Outlook connections if you are using Exchange 2010 SP3 UR8 (as you have found).  You can check which update you are running by going to
Control Panel/Uninstall a Program, then click the
View Installed Updates selection (upper left).  Your
Exchange Server 2010 - Software Updates will show a definite difference between UR8 and UR8V2.  To be safe, I'd fully remove UR8 and install UR8V2 after a system restart.

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 - Delayed emails with XLSM attachments...

Running Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 5.  Clients running Windows 7 and Office 2010 Pro Plus SP2.  Have one specific user / client that when sending emails with an XLSM attachment around 5:30AM, the email is delayed getting to the Exchange server and
is delayed up to 16 hours.  Unfortunately, this is a random occurrence, and not necessarily easy to duplicate.
The Sent Items on the Outlook client reflect the correct sent time, but the Message Tracking Log on the Exchange server shows the server did not receive the email until approximately 12 to 16 hours later.
The desktop is a shared system and this issue appears to be isolated to the user's profile, AD account, or Exchange.  I've literally blown away the users local profile and reconfigured it with no resolution.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Please verify whether there is any error/warning/information message left in App log. If yes, please paste the details without sensitive information.
I suggest re-send a .xlsm attachment for testing to verify whether it delays.

  • Disable SafeHTML in OWA on Exchange 2010? XML attachment with non-XML extension content gets stripped

Is it possible to disable SafeHTML in Outlook Web App on Exchange 2010?
We have users that receive messages with attachments that are generated by a 3rd party.
They are XML files saved with a XLS extension.
When opening via Outlook, Excel prompts that the content does not match the content type and asks the user if they want to open the file anyway, when opened the file does contain the data.
When opening the file via OWA, the contents are stripped out and replaced with the text: This attachment was removed because it contains data that could pose a security risk.
The problem is that some users exclusively use OWA and they need to be able to open these attachments.
    Thank You.

    Hi,
You can disable the OWA SafeHTML filtering by changing changing the
BypassOwaHTMLAttachmentFiltering option to true, for more details, please refer to the following article.
All HTML content in attachment files of messages is run through an HTML filter when you open or save the attachment by using Outlook Web Access (OWA)

  • Exchange 2010 mailbox not able to access auto-mapped Exchange 2013 CU3 mailbox

    Hi,
    We are in co-existence with Exchange 2010 SP3 and Exchange 2013 CU3.
Outlook Anywhere and Autodiscover pointed towards Exchange 2013 CAS servers.  Everything works fine irrespective where is mailbox is located Exchange 2010 or 2013.
When I tried to access auto-mapped mailbox from Exchange 2010 as primary mailbox accessing auto-mapped Exchange 2013 mailbox "Cannot expand the folder. The set of folders cannot be opened. Microsoft Exchange is not available. Either there are network
problems or the Exchange server is down for maintenance".
Exchange 2013 OutlookAnywhere "Externalclientauthenticationmethod" is Basic and "Internalclientauthencitcationmethod" is NTLM.  Everything is setup as per the Tech-net recommendations.
Checked both these articles but still it is not working:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2839517
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2834139
Please let me know if there are any other ideas.

    Hi,
I recommend you refer to the following articles to troubleshoot the issue:
    Troubleshooting Mailbox Auto-Mapping : Autodiscover
Details about the shared mailbox that is to be accessed will be returned to the Outlook client by the autodiscover process. This is really handy to know if you are ever in the position where you need to troubleshoot why the auto-mapping feature isn’t working
    correctly
    Troubleshooting Mailbox Auto-Mapping : Permissions
When you use either the Exchange Management Console or the Exchange Management Shell to grant a user with full access permission against another mailbox, permissions changes are made to allow this as you might expect. Certain Active Directory attributes
are also updated to reflect both the Active Directory account of the mailbox being accessed as well as the Active Directory account of the accessing mailbox. Specifically, you can check the contents of the msExchDelegateListLink and msExchDelegateListBL Active
Directory attributes to see these details and it is worth checking these if you have any suspicions that things aren’t working correctly.
    Hope this helps!

  • ECP not connecting with Edge Tranpost role ("Requested registry access is not allowed,". )

I installed and configured an Edge Transport server.
In ECP under servers if I click to access the Edge Transport server I get a warning message pop up that says "An error occurred while accessing the registry on the server "FQDN". The error that occurred is: "Requested registry access is
    not allowed,".
If I answer "Okay" I get the standard info and am allowed to enter a product key which did save. Operation appears normal and mail-flow is functioning.
    Any help is much obliged.

    Hi,
Agree with Amit Tank, we can use ECP to manage Edge Transport server. However, Edge Transport does not come with a separate EAC or ECP component, and we can manage Edge Transport from the Exchange 2013 SP1 ECP which is CAS 2013 server.

  • Exchange 2010 does not send mail outside the organization

    Hi,
I have an issue with my Exchange 2010 server and the issue is that I cannot send messages outside the organization. There are lot of posts regarding this issue, but in my case the issue is a little bit different and I didn't find an answer. There is properly
configured send connector, DNS records are OK, external domain is properly configured, all Exchange services are started. The server is running on VM with 4 virtual CPUs, 32GB of RAM. When I send a message to ouside domain the message is not delivered.
I have enabled protocol logging (SMTP logging) and there are no records in the log. What I found is that when I reboot the server, immediately after restart I am able to send an email to outside domain, few minutes later the messages, addressed to the
same outside domain are not being delivered.
The VM is created on LUN, presented from storage Fujitsu Eternus DX90S2, communication between the storage and the host is through iSCSI, all the disks on the storage are 2TB, SATA, 7200rpm.
I can't explain to myself what is going on.

No, unfortunately I do not receive NDR, the queue is empty as well. However, I am receiving a message from Exchange and it states that the message, sent to external domain is not yet delivered and the server will continue to try to deliver it, there is no
reason specified for delaying. The message is:
    Generating Server: exchange.domain.local
    My_Email_Is_Here
    #550 4.4.7 QUEUE.Expired; message expired ##

  • Exchange 2010 Server not receiving External Mail

    Hi everyone,
I have an Exchange 2010 Server which is connected to an edge server.
Suddenly yesterday all the exchange users on this network stop receiving inbound Emails.
Sending and receiving internal emails still works and even sending outbound emails.
I try to restart the server to see if this could have solved the problem but unfortunately it didnt work.
I dont know much about exchange and would be grateful is someone could offer a solution.
    Thank
    Breon

    Hi,
Agree with v_2udan. And I just want to make a supplement to him.
    1.
The external Domain Name System (DNS) servers for your domain must have mail exchanger (MX) resource records pointing to your
mail servers, or, if you are using an Internet service provider (ISP) or an external system, this external system must have an MX record for your domain and a mechanism to forward mail to your Exchange servers.
    2.
External servers must be able to access 25 port of you Exchange server on the internet. It can’t be blocked by firewall
    or other networking settings.
    3.
On Receive Connector, Anonymous users should be selected in Permission Groups.
    4.   Since
you have Edge server, you can re-subscribe the Edge server.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks

  • Use Exchange 2010 OWA Login Page with Exchange 2013

We are planning on upgrading our exchange server from 2010 to 2013. We want to keep 2010 OWA login page with this upgrade. Partly due to educating users to new OWA interface and no plan to upgrade to office 2013 anytime soon.
    Questions:
    1. Do you or do you not recommend?
    2. Is it possible?
    3. How to keep 2010 OWA login page during and after migration to 2013 (instructions)?
    Thank you!

    Hi, EthenLEC
    I agree with Andy David.
For additional information, we can change OWA 2013 back to OWA 2010 interface to use light version by the following steps.
    Log in to OWA 2013.
Once logged in, click on the settings gear in the upper right corner, choose
    Display Settings.
From the Display settings menu, choose Outlook Web App version, then check the box to use the light version.
Sign out of OWA and sign back in. Now it has the OWA 2013 light version.
    Best Regards.

  • Exchange 2010 SP2: Different problems with E_ACCESSDENIED on exchange servers

    Hello All,
    I'm observing a strange problem in an AD 2008 R2 / Exchange 2010 SP2 environment:
When creating a DAG and adding 1 or more servers to the DAG, the following error occurs:
    Summary: 2 item(s). 0 succeeded, 2 failed.

There are no logs created on the Mailservers, so I have no more detailed information. Where to start with troubleshooting this issue?
Edit: BTW I already checked the local admin membership of the "Exchange Trusted Subsystem" domain group.
Also commands like get-owavirtualdirectory give the Access Denied error (except on the CAS servers themselves).
