Exchange 2010 IMAP inbox missing (probably renamed)

Hi all,
Someone tried to setup a mac exchange connection with an SBS2011/ Exchange 2010 server, but the inbox gave an error. I've noticed that the IMAP INBOX folder is now somehow named "INBOXApple Mail To Do", so something went wrong apperantly. Renaming
the IMAP mailfolder back to INBOX doesn't work, is there any way to repair the INBOX functionality for IMAP?
The Outlook connection / OWA access still works fine and Get-MailboxFolderStatistics for the Inbox also shows no problems.
Best regards,

Hi,
According to your description, it seems that this is an Mac client application issue rather than an exchange issue.
I recommend you post this in
Apple Forum for help.

  • Iphone 4s configured for exchange 2010 rebuilds inbox

My iphone 4S keeps rebuilding the inbox multiple times per day. no events in the exchange server logs. this happen on wi-fi also.
can this be the resync timeout value that the ios 4 suffered with?
    Thank You

I have the same problem on mu iPhone 4S, running iOS 5.1 .
I have 4 exchange profiles on my iPhone, but it's only the gmail account (which has been set up as exchange push)  that rebuilds his inbox x times a day.
It's only since a couple of weeks, before it worked perfectly.

  • Updating exchange 2010 accounts after provisioning

    Hi Guys,
I am looking for the information on modifying exchange 2010 accounts information once we provisioined an exchange 2010 account.
For example, renaming the mailbox in exchange2010 when there is a change in the lastname like that. All of the "UPDATED" tasks
were given as "Required for completion". So, did not understand how the "UPDATED" tasks will work.
Will exchange 2010 support email attribute as multi-valued?
And how the move mailbox will work? Please provide some information.
    Thanks for your help.

In exchange connector, all of the UPDATED tasks were given as required for completion. I believe required for completion will needed only for create user task not for all of the updated tasks. It depends on the requirement. Generally we make these task as Required for Completion only.
If I want to update exchange 2010 mailbox, I just need to update mail atribute in AD. Is that correct?Right now, I am not sure which attribute we have to modify for renaming mailbox and whether it is supported with OOTB connector or not.
If not then you need to extend the connector functionality but I have seen couple of threads on Google which talks about Renaming Mailbox in Exchange.
    And
So, did not understand how the "UPDATED" tasks will work.SO I have given you link that how OIM triggers UPDATED task in any Process Defn.
Required for Completion means: Whether task should be completed for completing the process/operation or not. It is nothing to do with UPDATED Task trigger.

    @Satterp
Not sure if you were responding to me or OP - my iPhone is on 5.1.  The OP at the time of writing was on 5.0.1.
Also, the OP and I had setup our Hotmail as an Exchange server (similar to IMAP), not POP3.

  • Z10 with Exchange 2010 Activesync missing incoming messages

Z10 with Exchange 2010 Activesync won't download all messages, missing messages include messages sent to internal Exchange distribution groups and bulk email (I could live with this one, lol) Activesync works fine on iOS and android devices (100+ devices in my organization with no issues). Tried enabling secure IMAP on the exchange server, and with this config the messages are delivered, but the body of the same messages missing with the activesync setup have a [No body found] in the message body and are otherwise blank. Tried running the EAVT tool and it returns "Nothing was found for provided credentials" . My personal Gmail account works fine on the phone, tried loading the 10.1 Blackberry OS and had the same problem. Tried setting up the account multiple times, used both autodiscover and manual setup to no avail. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hey cyberayk,
Welcome to the BlackBerry® Support Community Forums.
Do these email messages get redirected to a different folder on the Exchange Server?  If yes, On the BlackBerry smartphone go to Settings > Accounts> Select the account> Edit Folder Settings, are these folders selected?

  • Exchange 2010 Receive Connector intermittently getting an SMTP RSET from sending SMTP servers causing missing user email

Users are receiving about 95% of their messages from sending SMTP servers. Intermittently, sending SMTP servers send the Exchange 2010 Server a SMTP RSET command for no apparent reason. The RSET Command (by SMTP specification) causes the Exchange 2010 Server
to drop the message. The sending SMTP servers then do not resend the message after asking the Exchange server to drop the message. This means the message is marked as Sent by the sending servers but the dropped messages never show up in the users' Outlook
    inbox.

    Hi,
According to the receive connector log, your emails were failed to be deliverd with DNR. If I misudnerstand the meaning, please feel free to let me know.  If yes, I'd like to confirm the detail information in the DNR to narrow down the
    cause.
Additionally, based on my research, the RSET command performs an SMTP reset, and then aborts the message that is currently being sent. Thus, the log didn't provide more information for troubleshooting. Is there any other error in your event log? please check
the event log when the issue happens again.
    Thanks,

  • Exchange IMAP Inbox and selected sub folders not displaying correctly

    Hi All,
I hope you can help me with the following issue:
We are running MS Exchange 2003 with IMAP. Normally I connect from my Mac to the mail server (using IMAP), everything worked fine until two days ago. I began with a few messages not showing up in the inbox folder while I confirmed their existence via Outlook Web Access and Outlook running in my Virtual Machine. Following an advice I dig out in the forums (moving Mail folder and re-importing all messages) it got kind of worse, my inbox did not show up at all while OWA and Outlook still correctly display all messages. Same goes for a few of the user created folders, though most of them load correctly. I cannot identify any system why some folders display correct and others do not.
As far as I am aware I have followed all the advices in the forums (well, at least those I've found).
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Kind regards,
    equinox

I have set up a new MacBook with the exact same details as I used on previous Pbk and on iMac 24 at work.
I can't receive/see anything in IMAP inbox on MacBook. I can send from the account ok.
I have set-up another white MacBook now and it has the very same issue. The only common difference is that the previous Pbk and the intel iMac operate 10.4 while the two MacBooks are on 10.5.6.
Is there a known issue with 10.5 and Mail/IMAP?
    EDIT:
From looking at posts further back, I see that yes, there is a big ongoing problem with Mail and IMAP. But is there particularly an issue with 10.5?
BTW, POP works fine, using IMAP simply results in no incoming mail at all.

  • Outlook 2011 w. Exchange 2010 - deliver mail to local inbox?

Hi all. I have a problem with a MacbookPro (OSx 10.6.8, fully updated) and Outlook 2011 (14.2.5, fully updated) using an account on a Exchange 2010 server.
Mails sent directly the users e-mail address, is delivered to a local Inbox and is therefore removed from the Exchange inbox. This is a problem, because the user is also accessing the mailbox from iPad and iPhone. There are no rules at all in the Outlook settings. The mail remains in the Exchange inbox until Outlook syncronizes folders. The strange part is that the user also recieves mails, sent to distribution lists, but these mails is not delivered to the local inbox, but stays in the Exchange Inbox.
The mail in the Exchange inbox should stay there, until deleted by the user ...
I have 40 other users using the same setup (MacBookPro, iPad, various SmartPhones) and they does not have this problem.
Does anybody know what to do or do I have to reinstall Office 2011 (again, I might add ...)

I found this and it worked for me too....
Outlook 2011 Moving Exchange Messages To On My Computer
Posted on April 8, 2011 by ccooper
I had a problem where Outlook 2011 was moving sent and inbox messages from the Exchange folders to the inbox under On My Computer. The solution was to go to Tools -> Mailing List Manager and turn off the rule that must have been set by accident.
If you simply open up the Mailing List Manager I noticed that it automatically creates a rule that matches your email address and then moves them to the Inbox On My Computer. I must have been going through the various menu options and hit return by mistake.

  • Rename existing Exchange 2010 database in DAG

    Hello,
I want to rename one existing database on our exchange 2010 server. This database is in DAG and hosting around 1000 users. So not possible to create a new mailbox database and move.
How can I rename the database?
After renaming it, what will happen to the Copy database on another server as it is in DAG.
    Thanks,
    Mihir

    Appreciate your response, Andy.
    To clear my doubt,
If I am ok to reseed the passive copy, then I can follow below steps, Correct?
    --> Remove Passive copy
--> Remove Database files and Log files on this passive server manually
    And
"1. Then will a New database with this new name be created?"
--> On Move database, I will mention same location, but just
rename .edb file. So a exact copy of new database with this new name will be created. Correct?
--> And then I can delete the old named .edb, Correct?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
This behavior is by design. Exchange 2010 server is not going to accept any SIP messages from Exchange 2013 server because it is not listed as UM IP Gateway. Therefore, even if Exchange 2013 redirected the SIP INFO packet to Exchange 2010, it will fail.
During migration\coexistance scenario, this feature (Missed call notifications from Lync server) will not work for legacy users whose mailbox is still in Exchange 2010.

  • Outlook 2007/2010 with Exchange 2010 missing tasks operation has failed only on PC not OWA

We have searched this topic to no success I'm baffled as to how to resolve this problem.
End user software: Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010,
Server side: MS Server 2012 R2 with MS Exchange 2010
Scenario: We have merged 2 forests together to a new forest. Months before hand had rolled out exchange 2010. A majority of users in
forest2 still are on Office 2007 where as users in
forest1 are nearly all on Office 2010.
Now so far we have 3 users (from Forest2) whom have reported 'missing tasks' with the message 'Operation has Failed' when attempting to view their tasks.
We have ran the outlook commands related to this type of issue that clear the reminders and resetting them with - No Success.
They have no issue when using OWA, or Outlook via mobile device. The issue only occurs on PC. We have tried profile rebuilds, fresh SOE, the issue appears to be resolved but the next time the user opens Outlook the problem comes back.
On the server we have ran all the integrity checks no corruption has been found in any way.

    Hi,
I recommend that you try the following method on client PC and then check the result:
    Click Start >> Click Run >> Type outlook.exe /resettodobar
    >> Click OK.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks.

  • CUC 8.5 MWI with Single Inbox Exchange 2010 seems slow and sometimes unreliable

    Hi,
I have some issues with MWI for Single Inbox Exchange 2010 + CUC 8.5-HA (latest). When leaving voicemails, sometimes it takes up to 10-20 seconds for Exchange to deliver MWI message. Sometimes it doesn't work at all. CUC mailbox shows that the MWI should be on, but the Exchange Inbox has no unread voicemails. It's either an issue with Exchange not delivering notification (doubt it), or CUC not working.
The message delivery into Exchange works perfectly fine. MWI ON is fast (but that's because CUC turns it on right away). It's EWS syncing back to CUC is very flaky.
Has anyone else had issues and found a good way to troubleshoot it?
On Exch2010 in event viewer I see events like this:

    Update:
    I'm running 8.5.1ES16.11900-16
They are apparently up to ES44 now, TAC will provide me with it, and I'll let you know if it solves the problem.

    Hi David,
When you mentioned "I installed the unrestricted version the service responsible for turing off the MWI is not installed.", this service is actually the Connection Notifier service, which exists on all systems.  This is the service I was under the impression you were referring to with regards to MWI.  Now that you're referring to something else, it changes the situation a bit.
The Connection Jetty and Connection Exchange Notification Web Service both should exist regardless of Restricted/Unrestricted.  Something must have happened with your installation if the Connection Exchange Notification Web Service does not exist.  If you're in the US, you should be running the Restricted version of the software, so it's still in your best interest to move to the proper version of the software.

  • Exchange 2010 Activesync Quarantine message to admin missing ECP URL?

    Hi folks,
I have recently enabled the Active Sync quarantine feature in Exchange 2010 (running SP3) and it is working perfectly. However, a co-worker states that during his testing roughly a year ago, the message sent to administrators advising of the device being quarantined
contained a URL that you could click, it would take you to the ECP page where you would need to click approve. I have posted the message received currently by admins below, does anyone know why the URL is not embedded or is there another step somewhere I missed?
Is it possible that SP3 or another Exchange related update removed the URL from the message?
The Exchange ActiveSync service has quarantined the mobile phone listed below. It won't be able to synchronize Exchange content until you take action.
To perform an action for this device, select the device from among the quarantined devices displayed on the ActiveSync Access tab in the Exchange Control Panel.
Information about the device that triggered this notice:
    User: [email protected]
    Device model: Q10 xxxxxxxx
    Device type: BlackBerry
    Device ID: xxxxxxxxxxx
    Device OS: BlackBerry 10
    Device user agent: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Device phone number: *******9502
    Device IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Exchange ActiveSync version: 14.1
    Device policy applied: Default
    Device policies status: AppliedInFull
    Device access state: Quarantined
    Device access state reason: Global

I should also mention that when I run "Get-EcpVirtualDirectory -server xxxxxxx | format-list" the internal URL is correct (https://webmail.domain.com/ecp) and the external URL is blank (which is fine by me).

    Hi,
Good that you mentioned that, cause that is the reason why you don't get a link in the Quarantine message sent to the AdminRecipient.

    Hi,
Please make sure the Microsoft Exchange Server Extension for Windows Server Backup service running fine.
Please also try to collect some App log for the further troubleshooting.
    Thanks
