Exchange 2010 inbound email (external/internal) randomly stuck in delivery queue

Dear all,
We got a problem email is not deliver to mailbox normal.
For example. I send a email to recipient A,B and C in same internal email.
The result is A can receive email normally, but B and C email is stuck in delivery queue.
We need to re-start the CAS transport service to release the email from delivery queue.
Any idea for this kind of email deliver issue?
Exchange server environment:
1. Two CAS/HT server in NLB mode (Exchange std. ver.)
2 Two Mailbox server in DAG mode (Exchange Ent. ver.)
We got this issue around 12 months on production migrate from 2000 to 2007 to 2010.
Felix.

hi,
What's the last error in the queue viewer? Do you have some error code?
You can use message tracking log to find more information about your issue.
If you create 3 new users and send a test mail to they, can they always receive the mail. May be your user account have some problem.
we need more information about your issue. Always is the stationary users or it is randomly?,The frequency of occurrence and so on.
hope can help you
thanks,

  • Exchange 2010 and 2013 coexistence Internal and external URL

    Hi all,
been reading alot of threads about Outlook anywhere and virtual directories in co-existence exchange 2010 and 2013.
Still i dont get any smarter.
    Here is scenario:
    Exchange 2010
    Cas1
    Cas2
    Mailbox1
    Mailbox2
Casarray is Exchange.casarray, com ( internal dns pointed to CAS1 in exchange 2010).Seems like by default both exchange 2013 cas servers are added to the casarray.
    Exchange 2013
    CAS+Mailbox
    Cas+Mailbox
    DNS
mail.exchange.com pointing to VIP (kemp loadbalancer)
Autodiscover ( pointed to same vip ,kemp load balancer)
Outlook anywhere on all servers (2010 and 2013)
Internal ( pointing to VIP on Kemp)
External ( pointing to external IP,then it passes firewall that again passes to kemp)
Problem we are having is when migrating users from Exchange 2010 - 2013.
    Users using Outlook 2010
restart of outlook and mail  works fine.
    OWA works fine
Active sync fails ( need to inherit permission of users AD object),wait couple of hours then mobile can sync again.)
    Users using Outlook 2013
Outlook in disconnected status, only fix is to create new profile.
    OWA works fine
Active sync fails ( need to inherit permission of users AD object),wait couple of hours then mobile can sync again.)
Question is,what should be set for internal and external url (active sync, owa, ews)on 2010 and 2013 servers?
    Where is the config wrong?
    Thanks!

Tried repair Outlook profile,no og.Only fix is to setup New account.
    Any more tips?

  • Exchange 2010 OWA access on internal LAN login form not working as expected

    hi
We have exchange 2010 sp3 installed and working. we have two sites
    Site a
    1 x CAS
    2 X MBX
    Site b
    1 x cas
    2x mbx
site A is the primary site we currently publish owa our through our TMG server located in the DMZ this is working as expected and carries out the forms authentication. our internal domain is company.local but our external domain is company.com
we have created split DNS so that we could use a wildcard cert and to deal with CA new rules. All URL's in Exchange are configured to use the external reference of company.com/
on the IIS server we have a redirection on the root of the site to redirect the requests through to OWA folder and we have basic Authentication enabled. on the OWA folder we have basic and windows authentication.
The problem we have is that when users try to access OWA internally we get username and password box appears once you login with this it then takes you through to the the normal login screen and you have tyo login again I'm thinking that this is the windows
authentication that is causing this but not sure?
also would be good to get an understanding as to what the Authentication, SSL and redirection setting should be set to on your CAS servers as looking at the ECP and autodiscover folder within IIS this currently has a redirect set to go to OWA surely that
    cannot be right,
    thanks
    J

    Hi
you are correct, the immediate concern is the double login to owa i do however want to also know what the settings/configuration for Authentication redirection and SSL should be set to on all virtual directories.
we do not have any additional OWA virtual directories just the default
These are the current live servers

I have noticed that FBA is set on the new servers does this need turning off and if so is this on IIS or in Exchange?
the link that you have provided talks about creating new Vdir for TMG we are looking at removing TMG and replacing it with KEMP load balancers would we still need to have two Vdir to make FBA work internally and externally
to make a new vdir do you need a new IP address? and what are the steps required in Exchange and IIS to get this working.

  • Migrate Exchange 2010 to 2013 External Mail Flow

    Dear All,
I am in the middle of Exchange Server 2010 to 2013 Migration. The scenario is I have single Exchange 2010 server with HUB/CAS/Mailbox and installed new Exchange 2013 with single CAS and single Mailbox server. The internal email flow between Exchange
2010 to 2013 and 2013 to 2010 is working. Having some issues and need assistance to resolve at earliest.
The issue with the external mail flow and I want to Exchange 2010 should be configured to send external email while migrating users to Exchange 2013. Once migrate all users to Exchange 2013 then will configure Exchange 2013 send connector.
How can I configure single name space of web URL for OWA both on Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013, if user mailbox is in Exchange 2010 can access same OWA URL as user migrate to Exchange 2013.
How to configure SSL certificate, I have single URL certificate this would be enough for OWA, ActiveSync and Anywhere.
Is that possible if directly move the Exchange 2010 database to Exchange 2013 database, this will move all users mailboxes in one go or do I need to migrate users mailbox individual or in bulk.
Kindly guide if any thing missing that need to address during start the migration activity.
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi ,
    Sorry for delay.
Question : Thanks for your valuable response. On
point no.2, I want to use same external URL for Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2013, is this possible if user is on exchange 2010 server or migrated on Exchange 2013 can use same external single name space URL to access OWA ?
Yes you can have the same External URL for the exchange 2010 owa and exchange 2013 owa.So users from exchange
2010 and exchange 2013 can access owa on the same URL from external world. For exchange 2010 users owa connections will be proxied from exchange 2013 to exchange 2010.
For mailbox connectivity issue in exchange 2013 :
1.From internal outlook clients ,Please check the internal outlook anywhere name is resolved to exchange
2013 server and also make sure the authentication set on the outlook anywhere is set to NTLM. Same time we need to have the internal outlook anywhere name on the SAN certificate.
2.Make sure the names used exchange on 2013 URL'S is available on the SAN certificate and also the certificate
needs to installed on the exchange server and that certificate has to be enabled for the required services like iis,pop.imap,smtp.
3.Make sure the outlook client request coming for internal outlook anywhere name and also to autodiscover
service is not reaching the proxy server if you have on your network.
In case if you have proxy server in your environment for internet access ,So for that we need to add the internal outlook anywhere name and autodiscover name
on the internet explorer proxy exceptions for all the internal outlook clients. We can globally achieve it through group policy.
4.please share me the output for the below mentioned command.
get-ClientAccessServer -Identity “server name”  | fl AutodiscoverServiceInternalURI
5.If you are having outlook 2007 then make sure it fully patched with latest sp and updates.
6.On which operating system version those outlook 2007 clients are installed?
Please reply me if anything is unclear.
    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham

  • Exchange 2013 autodiscover finds external & internal SSL certificate causing autodiscover to fail

<p>Hi:</p><p>I'm currently working on a windows 2012 server, with exchange 2013, lets say our internal domain is "cars.com" and ALSO the case for&nbsp;our external domain. We have purchased an SSL wildcard positive certificate
*.cars.com so that we could configure Outlook Anywhere, we have created the needed DNS records at godaddy and our internal server, OWA, ECP it all works if you go to&nbsp; <a href="https://bird.cars.com/owa">https://bird.cars.com/owa</a>
because we have a DNS record for bird in godaddy and out local server, so all of that is working like a pro ! here comes the tricky part, our website is registered in godaddy but hosted by someone else a company called poetic systems; when we test the connection
with the remote connectivity analyzer website we get a very peculiar error that says SSL certificate not valid, now it provides the name of the certificate it found and is not ours, we found that the hosting company is listening in port 443, therefore, it
is pulling their self signed certificate also, does anyone have a fix for this, I have done this same setup before for other companies and this is the first time a situation like this happens. I REALLY NEED HELP !!!!!</p>

    Hi,
According to your description, there is a certificate error when you test Outlook Anywhere connection by ExRCA.
If I misunderstand your meaning, please feel free to let me know.
And to understand more about the issue, I’d like to confirm the following information:
    What’s detail error page?
Check the Outlook Anywhere configuration: get-outlookanywhere |fl
    Check the certificate : get-exchangecertificate |fl
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

  • Q10, Exchange 2010 ActiveSync - Email will not be deleted on server

    Hey Everyone,
If you have a Q10 with Exchange ActiveSync, can you remove emails on the server using "Delete from Hub and server" option??
I am testing this function both with an ipad and Q10. Emails removed from Ipad are removed from Exchange Server whereas emails removed from Q10 with "Delete from Hub and server" option selected are only removed from Q10 but not on the server.
Is this a broken functionality or are there incorrect settings on the phone?
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    -T

the deletes can take a few on my Z30 or Z10
I know a quick delete would be prefered but maybe the OS deems them as not fast needed

  • Exchange 2010 Rejected emails

    All,
I am trying to find a way to get more detail when an email is rejected by SCL.  We have a client that out of 100 emails 2 got rejected and I am looking to find out why.   I can submit the error, but it just says that SCL got tripped and Exchange
    dropped the email.
I have read another post that the SMTP receive log files on the transport connector would provide more detail, but if I turn this one is there any negative side affects other then a log file?
If anyone has an idea much thanks.

    Hi Mays
First you can check by analyzing thorough message headers and see the reason why the emails are rejected
You can enable pipeline tracing for the emails which are getting rejected  and check if the emails are getting stripped
    Get-TransportServer | Set-TransportServer -PipelineTracingEnabled $True -PipelineTracingPath "C:\Pipeline Tracing Logs" -PipelineTracingSenderAddress
    [email protected] -ContentConversionTracingEnabled $True
There is no harm in enabling the verbose logs on the receive & send connector until there are more transactions happening per day and you run out of disk space . Ensure the drive which holds the protocol log path have enough space if your environment
is big and have huge mail transactions happening in a day

  • Exchange 2013 - Missing Emails sent internally

Can someone please help me diagnose what has happened with the following problem
User1 sends an email at 23:18 from his works laptop at home which is connecting to exchange using Outlook Anywhere
User1 sends an email to 4 users: "User2, User3, User4, UserEx" - UserEX is an external user.
    User3, User4 & UserEX - Received the email
User2 - Did not received the email
User1 - Travels to place of works and logs onto his works PC (not the laptop which is at home)
User1 - Also receives a copy of all messages sent to User2 and notices that he doesn't have a copy of the email he sent to User2 at 23:18.
User1 - Checks his sent items, there is no email there from 23:18
User1 - Confirms that User3, User4 received the email, which they have.
He contacts me (support) asking what is going on. I investigate by looking at his OWA (thinking it could be a syncing issue), the email doesn't show up UNLESS I do an advance search on his OWA Email Box, which tells me there are two emails 1 in his Inbox
and 1 in his drafts. Move away from the advanced search and the email cannot be found.
I complete a Deliver Report for User2 for this missing email; Results below

Even the Get-MessageTrackingLog tells me the message was sent. Though there was a HAREDIRECTFAIL & AGENTINFO in the processing.
If anyone can help me workout what the heck is happening here, id be very appreciative.
    Thanks
    Neil

    Hi there Amy,
User1 sends about 10-20 emails a day to User2 and they have been fine since and beforehand. Its just this instance.
    User1 = Director
    User2 = PA
It was an Email not a Meeting Request.
The email in question was being replied to.
    To: UserEX
    Cc: User2; User3; User4
The Director receives a copy of all emails sent to his PA. In this instance neither one of them received the email. The only people to receive the email was UserEX, User3, User4.
Also the Directors email (User1) wasn't in his sent items on his work PC in the morning. (Remember he sent it from his laptop at home during the late evening the day before).
The trackinglogs & delivery reports, say that the email got delivered to all recipients. Further investigation suggests that this email is there but not visible to them.
Its a strange one I know, but I'm wondering what would cause an email to be there but not invisible?.

  • Exchange 2010 SSL certificate and internal names

So I received an email from Digicert stating our certificate contains .local internal domain names and we need to remove the names and re-issue our cert. Our cert currently contains the following names:
    CN: mail.ourdomain.org
    mail.ourdomain.org
    mailservername.ourdomain.local
    autodiscover.ourodmain.org
    autodiscover.ourdomain.local
So after removing all .local names and re-issuing/re-installing the certificate, is there any additional configuration I need to do on the Exchange side? We already have an internal DNS A record pointing mail.ourdomain.org to internal IP of Exchange server.

  • Outlook 2010/2007 with Exchange 2010 - show email address in field To: instead name

    Hi,
I´ve SBS 2011. Some users have more email aliases. I want to see in Outlook email adress/alias in field To: <- no user Name and Surname. I know, that I can open every message and go to Options and see full header, where is email adress, but I want
to see it on message preview in Outlook window (or Name Surname ([email protected]))
Thank you very much for your responses.

I think this is not what he was looking for. The link you provided is for showing the senders smtp address and not the recipients. as i understand it, hes looking for the same that i do.
user has multiple smtp addresses and user wants to be able to see to which of his own addresses the mails has been sent.
im looking for that solution to show recipients smtp address in the To:-Field when showing the email
as i unterstand it, there could not be a registry-value for outlook because exchange isnt using the smtp address internaly to deliver the email.
the only "Simple" Solution/Workaround i found is to use a distribution group with the smtp address you want to see and only add the specific user. then the user is able to see the Name of the Distribution Group instead of his own name so
    hes able to differ.

  • Exchange 2010 route email to SAP smtp server

    Hi,
we have a Exchange2010 infrastructure, i need to route email received to a specific address: [email protected], to a SAP smtp server: serverip:25000
    How can i obtain this?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,
    Please review note 455140.
Settings on the mail server (SAP-external configuration)
To be able to receive mails in the SAP system, you need to set your mail server so that certain mail addresses are forwarded to one or several SAP systems or clients. For this purpose, you need to define routing rules that assign a mail host and/or port to address areas (generic address parts, usually the domain), for example:
           *@crm-prod.company.com  -->  SAPWASHost:25000
           *@crm-test.company.com  -->  SAPWASHost:25001
For more information about the exact setting procedure, see the mail server documentation.
    Thank you.
    Best regards,
    Ciarán

  • External emails not received after shutdown of Exchange 2010 in coexistence with Exchange 2013

I have exchange 2013 and exchange 2010 in coexistence mode. All mailboxes have been moved to Exchange 2013 and firewall/spamfilters already pointed to Exchange 2013 CAS server. I can receive/send from and to external addresses, however when I shutted down
the Exchange 2010 all incoming external mails were not received. What could be the cause?

Start by re-checking how the device that takes the traffic from the external MX IP to internal is configured.
Sniff the traffic to ensure that it is hitting 2013 directly.

  • Beware of Linked Mailbox status - Moving Unity_server mailboxes to Exchange 2010

    Hi all -
Here is a problem I encountered that I want to pass along to you:
When partnering Unity to Exchange 2010, the Unity_servername, USBMS_servername, EAdmin, and unitymsgstoresvc inboxes are moved from the old Exchange to the new 2010 server.  Using the Exchange Management Console, the users should show up as User Mailboxes, not Linked Mailbox.  A Linked mailbox in Exchange 2010 is an external account, i.e. an account in another forest.  If this occurs for the Unity_servername mailbox, external caller voice messages remain in UMR (UnityMTA) and you will see many application event log errors.  In EMC you will observe the account mailboxes show in Disconnected status.
If this happens to you, here is the fix:
Disable the Account from EMC in Exchange 2010.  Note you will get a prompt that the Exchange properties are being removed but the email inbox is NOT deleted.
    Re-enable the account from ADUC.
In EMC, go to Disconnected Mailboxes, select the Unity mailbox and select Connect.  In the Connect wizard, re-associate with the existing account. Re-enter the user alias and complete the wizard.
    Restart AvUMRSynchSvr service on Unity.
Hope this helps someone in the future!
    Sincerely, Ginger

Thanks Brad :-)  I forgot to mention I discovered a number of Internet hits that say this can happen with Move Mailbox.  Here's the link I used to begin researching the problem (hint: go all the way to the bottom of the web page - http://www.experts-exchange.com/Software/Server_Software/Email_Servers/Exchange/Q_26308671.html).  Got to give kudo's to this most excellent Exchange resource - has helped me a bunch over the years!
