Exchange 2010 multiple meeting acceptance emails

Currently we have resource calendars in use (3 conference rooms). Our main conference room gets the most use (Conference Cygnus).  Our main weekly staff meeting has experienced the most issues, but I also have a weekly IT meeting that has the same issues.
Here are some problems that have been happening and happen most when we do any kind of editing of single events in the series.
Multiple event notifications sent to all or some users in the organizations. (we’ve seen as much as 100 email notifications to a single user for the same meeting update)
Some users reporting that once an update is sent (single update) and they select accept it will delete the entire series.
Vanishing meetings in general
Note that the meetings are not using distribution lists and that the resource calendar has the booking attendant active for ease of management.  The “conference cygnus” only needs to be invited for it to auto accept or decline the meeting.
Exchange 2010 SP 1 version 14.01.0218.015
We have a few admins that have full access to some executives calendars as well as Full Permission on the resource calendar, something I had to add in order for them to add and delete events manually if needed.
All users have IPhones or IPads.
I have looked at the headers and the extra messages all have a different message ID.
Any Ideas?

Hi,
I noticed that all users are using IPhones or IPads. Please confirm if anyone use these third-party devices to processing meeting request such as creating meeting request, accpeting a meeting inviting, forwarding a meeting request. We can disable the ActiveSync
for these devices and send test meeting request to check whether the issue persists.
Personal suggestion, please just use these devices to view the calendar and we can create or process the meeting request by using Outlook or OWA. The following KB descripts the Current issues with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices:

  • Exchange 2010 and Mavericks Push Email Support

    Hi,
I am new to OS X and Mac, but not Apple.  I've searcehd high and low and can't find an answer to this question though I suspect the answer is "no" based on what I've been able to decipher from what I've experienced and read.
Should I expect push email capability with OSX Mavericks and Exchange 2010 using the Apple Mail application, or any other application for that matter?  It seems that the best I can do is fetch every one minute, but I am assuming that is not a very efficient method of checking mail, sepeciall on a corporate-sized email account.
I have an iPhone and an iPad and both of those receive push emails without question.  I am suspect this is because they use Activesync and the Apple Mail application does not.
    Thank you,
    Paul McGarr

I can confirm. I was able to add a corporate Exchange account to the OS X accounts handler before Mavericks and I assumed it was being pushed to mail.app since the account would show mail, contacts, calendar and tasks sync in the accounts handler. However, I always suspected there was problem with real "pushing" of email.
My work Exchange account email would arrive approx 1 - 5 minutes slower to mail.app than any other service. Email, calendar, contacts, tasks push was near instantaneous to Outlook 2011 on the same MacBook Pro, a PC with Outlook 2010, an iPad and an Android phone.
I believe the mobile devices defaulted to the Active Exchange Sync protocol on the server. I know that OS X doesn't support this but iOS does, so we can rule them out of the equation. You can see this when you add an Outlook.com account to an iOS device. It will push mail, contacts, calendars and tasks in real time if you send yourself a test email. OS X will only fetch mail and notes in the settings options.
I'm guessing there was always a problem with OS X using any Microsoft protocol to retrieve mail but it is FAR more obvious now. I bet Apple set standard corporate Exchange accounts to fetch and it never truly pushed anything. Of course the AES protocol has never been supported by OS X otherwise it would use it!
I can't receive Exchange email at all in Mavericks mail.app unless I manually press the check mail button now. Don't forget the server auto discover problems when on the work LAN vs at home.
I use Windows 7, OS X, Android and iOS devices frequently. I've been looking to commit to a single unified OS/application ecosystem. THE FIRST REQUIREMENT IS THAT THE SYSTEM SUPPORTS MY WORK EXCHANGE PUSH SYNC. I have multiple other accounts like outlook.com, yahoo.com, aol, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc. I find OS X is the most intuitive with the account handling baked into the OS. I cannot make the commitment to commit to the Apple ecosystem when the default account handler doesn't support Exchange push.

  • Office 2010 / Exchange 2010 - Attachments in EML-Emails are invisible

We are investigating a problem that seems to pop up with Exchange / Outlook 2010.
This is the absolutly the same problem that Clemens Wunder wrote about in his tread:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/outlook/thread/afce3bd0-f8a4-419b-986a-0560ebff5f8f
    Problem:
We got several eml-files in a Management System and those have attachmentes (word, pdf whatever) included.
If i open those EML Files in Outlook 2010 (this works if the Registry is apropriate) the Email is opening but the Attachments are "invisible"...
If i now save the Mesage from within Outlook 2010 as a MSG File and open this one the attachments are back...
I searched for bout one week now for a solution but i still don't get it why this should be happening.
    My Specs:
    - Windows 7
    - Outlook 2010
    - Exchange 2010 (migrated from 2003)
    Fact:
The same problem seems also to happen with Outlook 2007 and 2003 since the migration of Exchange 2003 to 2010.
Those EML Files are from within a data management system and are stored as eml since bout 4 years.
Please don't send answers like "Use Windows Mail" - this is not a solution for this matter because I can't.
Exchange / Outlook is used at every customer of our company so WM can't be the solution...
Thanks for your advices and tips
    Roman

    Hi Roman,
To make sure I understand things correctly…..
You have EML files generated by another program. Emails have one or more attachments.
You have copied the EML files into your Outlook 2010 profile’s mail folder.
When you open the item in the folder, you have to open or save the item. –You have HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Outlook.File.eml.14\shell\Open\command set
to use Outlook 2010 to open the file.
When you open the EML file, the message opens but the attachments are not visible.
In actuality, when you open the EML file, Outlook is saving the file to your “..\..\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\” location.
To see what Outlook is doing I started a Process Monitor trace,
then dragged a Windows Live Mail EML message with a Word doc attached over to my Outlook 2010 Inbox.
When I open the eml item, I am prompted to Open or Save the item. I opt for Open and the message with attachment is opened with Outlook 2010.
The trace shows accessing the registry to find out what to use to open the EML file and then it shows the attached file being created in
Temporary Internet Files. The attached file is seen,
    but nothing happens to it.

    NAME NOT FOUND
    28:14.1
    OUTLOOK.EXE QueryDirectory   jahawk
    C:\Users\jahawk\Documents\Help me.docx NO SUCH FILE
From the opened EML file, you click File | Save As | And then save the item as an .MSG file.
When you drag the MSG into your Outlook profile’s mail folder, the mail with attachments is visible.
Looking at the mail folder, the EML item does not have a mail icon associated to it. The item shows no Attachment icon, because it cannot be
read in yet. –You’d need to open the EML file in Outlook to view the message with attachment(s).
Looking at the mail folder, the MSG item is an Outlook mail item and the attachments are showing up.
So, let me ask the following:
    How was the item created?
Does this happen with any file that is attached?
In Windows Live Mail, attachments have a lot LESS properties associated to them
Outlook 2010 actually has a PR_ATTACHMENT_HIDDEN property that can toggled to hide an attachment.
What happens from Outlook Web Access? –You will have to right-click “Save Target As” on the attached eml message, first. When you
open the saved “E-mail Message” from the save location, what results?
Is your anti-virus possibly scanning the file? –“..\...\Temporary Internet Files\Outlook.content….”
Anyways, to be honest, I’d have to have a copy of the EML file to be able to (hopefully) explain what is happening.
If I had the file, I would use MFCMapi or OutlookSpy to dump the EML message’s properties after I’ve added it to my mailbox. I’d
then open it and save it as an MSG file type. From there, I’d save the MSG file’s properties off and then compare the 2 sets of properties. And, the item has an Attachment Table that will contain the attached files. Each attachment will have its
    own set of properties.
From an Outlook created message with attachment, you could compare the attachment’s properties to the props on the affected message.
From a Windows Live Mail message with attachment, you could compare the attachment’s properties to the props on the affected message.
For the kind of troubleshooting we'd need to do, I would suggest calling and opening a support incident with us. That would allow us to work with you
at a much deeper level. For a case like this, a debug trace of opening the message from in Outlook 2010 would likely be necessary.
Sorry I didn’t have better information for you.

  • Exchange 2010 embedded images in email problem

We have Exchange 2010 and the limit on our global settings and various send/receive connectors is 30720 KB everywhere for Max receive size & max send size.  Currently, even if the message size is well below the KB limit, if there are enough images
embedded in the message the email is not delivered successfully.
For example, if there are 222 small attachments embedded in an email with the email message TotalBytes = 657358 (~658 KB), the email does not deliver and this is the error that is logged in Exchange:
554-5.3.4 Content conversion limit(s) exceeded 554 5.3.4 STOREDRV.Deliver.Exception:ConversionFailedException; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message The content conversion limit has been exceeded. ConversionFailedException: The
content conversion limit has been exceeded. [Stage: CreateReplay]
This appears to be a bug with the number of images and the fact that they are embedded into the message.  Is there a fix for this issue?  Or is there a setting in Exchange I can adjust to allow these messages to be delivered successfully?
    Thanks,

  • Exchange 2010 - Cannot receive external emails, only internal.

Hello, this is my first time setting up Exchange 2010, I have set up exchange 2010 on Windows Server 2008 R2, I can receive internal emails but every time I send out an external email I get a bounce back. I have a domain controller on a separate VM I have

  • Outlook 2013 asks for credentials connecting to Exchange 2010 multiple times

I'm having a problem with Outlook 2013 asking for my credentials a few times a day for no apparent reason. Some info on my setup...
    CLIENT
Windows 7 Professional SP1 64 bit, fully patched
Office 2013 Pro Plus 32 bit, fully patched (has there even been any patches released yet?)
Outlook auto-configured to Exchange during setup.
    Online Archive setup with server
Connected via gigabit ethernet on same network and domain as Exchange server.
    SERVER
    Exchange 2010 SP2, fully patched.
    One server, holds all roles.
I have zero clue as to why I'm getting popped for credentials. This did not happen prior to my upgrade to Office 2013. I was previously using Office 2007 Pro Plus.
My credentials are always accepted, never a problem putting them in.
    Thanks in advance!

I have been testing and testing also for days, then waiting for any responses to other people's questions on other places as well.
After some time started my own tries again.
Now I fixed my issue - don't fully comprehend it. But anyway here comes the solution that worked for me (and hopefully for more of y'all)...
Go to the Exchange account from within Outlook, click special settings, tab connection. Open up the button proxy settings, UNtick options 3 and 4 (connections with HTTP/then TCP/IP). Make sure to UNtick both.
Press OK, Hit Save and OK again. Press NEXT and close the screens.
Logout from Outlook. LOG OFF your RDP session if you're in one. Restart the RDP session after some 15 seconds. Or start Outlook if you were only in Outlook.
    My issue was then solved.

  • Exchange 2010 - Trying to Manage Email Distribution to users.

Try and spell it out as best I can.

    Current setup:-
    Distribution List (All Users)
5 Group Members of All Users
All Group Members receive all emails (individual mailbox) that arrive
Questions:- I am looking for a setup where 2 Group Members can see all emails that arrive, but the other 3 Group Members can only see the emails from the 3 of them. Is this possible? The other 2 Group Members will have their own distribution list.

  • Multiple "event accepted" email notifications being sent

I just updated my iPhone 4s OS, and now a colleague has received and is still receiving email messages letting her know that I accepted an invitation to a meeting/event that she set up. Any reason why this would be happening?

    Hello,
Go to the shopping cart transaction type config. Then check if an Event Schema is maintained.
To disable the shopping cart notification, remove the Event Schema maintained in the transaction type.

  • Powershell, Exchange 2010 - Sent and Received emails by domain to CSV

I think I almost have what I want but I can't figure out the last bits.  Hoping someone can help.
This code does produce the results I want but I would prefer to have EventID send or EventID Receive in one line but can't figure out how to get the syntax correct.  The result would then provide the actual total I'm looking for rather than having the
    results in 2 files.
    Get-MessageTrackingLog -Start (Get-Date).AddDays(-1) -ResultSize Unlimited -EventID receive | Select -Expand Recipients | Group { (($_).Split("{@}"))[1] } |select-object 'Name', 'Count' |export-csv c:\temp\Received.csv

Also, how do you get rid of the quotes "" in the csv file??

  • On-premise Exchange 2010 SMTP Relay to O365 mailboxes does not resolve Display Name

    Dear All,
We have SMTP relay receive connector in our on-premise Exchange 2010 server that accepts emails from anonymous users.
The Externally Secured check box is checked. Display Name of the sender in Emails to mailboxes in on-premise is resolved correctly.
But the display name of the sender in the same email to mailboxes which are migrated to O365 is not getting resolved.
Please let me know if anyone has seen this issue. Some of our mailboxes are in O365 and some are in On-premise server.

  • Outlook 2010 - "Reply To" linking to wrong Exchange 2010 Internal Email Address

    Hi,
One of my internal email users (Exchange 2010 Enterprise) compiled an email from within Outlook 2010 and sent it to a specific internal colleague with a CC to two other internal colleagues plus two external contacts.
They all recieve the email successfully but if any of them (internal & external contacts) try to "Reply" or "Reply All" the "To" for the new email is automatically populated with a completely different and unrelated
internal email account instead of that of the original sender? This occurs when attempted from either thier Outlook or OWA environments.
This appears to be a one off issue, as the original recipient of the problem email has recieved other emails from the same sender both just before and soon after which all behave correctly.
I have looked at the View Source information for the recieved and confused email from Outlooks perspective and there is no reference within the source to the wrong account that get consistantly used for the
    purposes of a Reply.
I have never experienced this sort of problem before since administering Exhange etc and would like to understand how it can randonly occur.
Any help would be most welcome.
    Regards,

    Hi,
Does this issue happen to other emails or just the certain one?
On the sender side, please go to Send Items folder, find and open the problematic message. Click on File > Properties and check if the user set “Have replies sent to” in the Delivery options section:
If the original email was set with this option, when we click Reply, it will send email to the people typed in the box.
We can also check the message properties on the recipient side.
Please let me know the result.

  • Relay issue from Unix across Exchange 2003 OWA server in Exchange 2010 environment

    Hi,
I'm trying to resolve an issue.  We have one Exchange 2003 server left in our environment. The rest is now Exchange 2010.  We are working to decommission this server. Monitoring the SMTP logs, I am working with the various groups to get the traffic
off this server and onto the Exchange 2010 environment.
The issue we are finding is with a work flow. This Java app for eBis sends email to users. This is done correctly through Exchange 2010 and gets delivered from our HUB/CAS servers to the target user mailbox. This email has several links the user must click
for approving or rejecting requests. Upon clicking Approve, a new email window opens (we use Outlook 2010).  The TO address is in the format of [email protected]  Upon clicking Send, our Exchange 2010 HUB/CAS servers accept the
email, because one of our send connectors has, as address space, *.domain.corp.  However, the email address being used it not an alias on any Exchange 2010 mailbox, so it appears Exchange 2010 is sending this email on to the Exchange 2003 server, which
also is an SMTP server.  I *think* this server is looking at the address after @ to determine where to send it (ebisserver.domain.corp, which is valid in our DNS), and sends it on to that server, where the java "listener" program intercepts
the mail, processes it and then saves it to a file somewhere.
We are at a loss as to how to get Exchange 2010 to do this instead of Exchange 2003... once this traffic is eliminted from Exchange 2003, I can proceed with decommission of this server.  Any help troubleshooting this issue is appreciated.

The only reason the Exchange 2010 server would route outbound mail through an Exchange 2003 server is that you have an SMTP Connector defined on the Exchange 2003 server that has a more specific domain than you have on the Exchange 2010 server.  You
should be able to see all your Send Connectors (an SMTP Connector on Exchange 2003 looks like a Send Connector in Exchange 2010) by running Get-SendConnector.

  • Exchange 2010 GAL Export script working from EMS but not as a scheduled task

I have been asked to get a script together to export the GAL on an Exchange 2010 server and then email it to a manager. I have been playing it with days, and have pruned it to the very minimum to at least try and get it working before improving it. At the
moment I have the text as below:
    Del c:\GALexport.csv
    Get-Recipient -ResultSize unlimited | where {$_.HiddenFromAddressListsEnabled -eq $false} | Select DisplayName,PrimarySMTPAddress,sAMAccountName,alias | Export-Csv "c:\GALexport.csv"
This works just fine in Exchange Management Shell and deletes the previous report before creating a new one. However, when I set it up as a scheulded task, it does nothing.
The task is set up as follows:
    Action - Start a Program
    Program/ Script C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell.exe
    Add arguments -version 2.0 -NonInteractive -WindowStyle Hidden -command ". 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\bin\RemoteExchange.ps1'; Connect-ExchangeServer -auto; d:\Scripts\GalExportReport.ps1"
This is set to run under my administrator account with the highest privileges and I have the logon as batch right.
Unfortunately, when I run it as a scheduled task, nothing happens. The last run result is (0x0) and in the history it says 'task completed', but no report is produced. Can anyone advise please?

Does it delete the c:\GALexport.csv file? If not, then its not even executing the ps1 script...
    - Open cmd prompt and run below command to confirm that there isn't any typo or any other small error...
    C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\PowerShell.exe -version
    2.0 -NonInteractive -WindowStyle Hidden -command ". 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\bin\RemoteExchange.ps1'; Connect-ExchangeServer -auto; d:\Scripts\GalExportReport.ps1"
    - If above works then something wrong with task scheduler configuration...

  • Uninstall Forefront for Exchange 2010

I have acquired another spam filter appliance that will used instead of Forefront for Exchange 2010.
How do I uninstall Forefront for Exchange 2010 without any issues while still using Exchange 2010.
Basically the email will go through the email appliance filter then to Exchange. I want to deactivate or uninstall Forefront for Exchange with impacting my email services. Is it as simple as just uninstalling it?

    Hi,
About uninstalling Forefront for Exchange 2010, you could check the following article.
If spam filtering was enabled, the configurations in the corresponding antispam settings in Microsoft Exchange that were leveraged by FPE will be retained by their Exchange antispam counterparts after FPE is uninstalled. These settings include: Connection
Filtering, Sender ID Filtering, Sender Filtering, and Reciepient Filtering. To change these configuration settings you will need to modify them through the Exchange management console.

Well seems that its sad that no-one from Apple or otherwise knows why Apple Mail and iCal are such junk - but I'll answer for those who might want to know what solves these things.
In a nutshell - I removed my accounts from iCal and Mail - added things thru iCal and had it create the account in Mail automatically (Exchange 2010 has all my mail up online anyways) - and sure enough this fixed things.
Guess doing the Mail separately from iCal doesn't work right. Go figure.
