Exchange 2010 Rollup 2 SP3 update cannot find installation package exchangeserver.msi file on SBS 2011... NEED HELP!!!

Hello,
I am running a windows SBS 2011 standard system and there was currently an update for Exchange 2010 Rollup 2 Service Pack 3 and it keeps failing.  It says that it cannot find the installation package (exchangeserver.msi) and it is looking for it
in E:\Software\Exchange2010-SP3-x64\ folder but there never was this folder.  There is only an Exchange2010-SP3-x64.exe file.
The only exchangeserver.msi file that I find on the server any where is in C:\ProgramFiles\Windows Small Business Server\Bin\CMPNENTS\EXCHANGE14_SP1 but it won't accept it (says not authorized for this update or something alike).
Please help.  It is currently causing issues with email.  Some of the features are not working because it says exchange is currently under maintenance.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Susan you are correct:  After I installed Exchange 2010 SP3, I deleted the msi just to "clean up' my hard disk...  While trying to install Rollup 2 for SP3, the installer is trying to find it.  I downloaded the installer, used 7-zip to get
the msi and I pointed the installer to it when asked.
The installation failed 3 times...
NOTE: I was using WSUS to install the Rollup:  I downloaded the Rollup installer and I executed:  I could see where the installer was hanging up!  First it asked me to stop an SBS service and something else (sorry I do not remember), I stopped
the services and installation continued.  Then it asked me for more files from the SP3 installation which I found on the installation folder that I created with 7-zip.  I copied to the path that the installer was looking and installation finished
(finally!)...
NOTE 2:  If you have any firewall appliance that denies Internet access to un-authenticated requests, you better turn that rule off because the installer accesses the internet (not sure why - probably for Dot Net assemblies)...
Susan THANKS for all your help to the community!  You have helped so much!
All the Best
Constantine

  • Change to Exchange 2010 after SP3, Update 5 installed

After updating Exchange 2010 from SP3 Update 2 to Update 5, a change has occurred for users with SendAs and Full Access to other mailboxes. Version 14.3 (build 123.4).
Before the Update, after giving a user these permissions to another user's mailbox, the mailbox would show in their Outlook 2010 client, and everything worked as expected.
After Update 5 was installed, when users select the other user's mailbox, they get a message "the folders are not available," or the connection to the Exchange server is not working." They can access their own mailbox with no issues.
The other mailbox has to be added to the Outlook client via Account Settings, Account Settings, Change, More Settings, Advanced tab, Add the other mailbox. The mailbox then shows up twice on the client, but only the one that has been added works,
the original still gives the same error.
    Lou H.

    Hi,
I have seen some people have the same issue with you. After upgrading to Rollup 5, they need to add others' mailboxes that they have full access permission and send as permission manually on Outlook. But when they upgrade Outlook to 2010 SP2, this issue
is solved. I recommend you upgrade your Outlook to 2010 SP2 and check the result.
Besides, I'm not sure what changes after Rollup 5 lead to this issue, there is no official article explain it, thanks for your understanding.
    Hope it helps.

  • I am trying to download itunes 10.6 and keep getting this error message, "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable to a folder containing installation package itunes64.msi".  What do I need to do?

I am trying to download itunes 10.6 and keep getting the error message "The feature you are trying to use in on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter alternate path to a folder containing the installation package itunes67.msi".  Where do I find this or how do I get it?

"The feature you are trying to use in on a network resource that is unavailable. Enter alternate path to a folder containing the installation package itunes64.msi".
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • AutoDiscover not working after Exchange 2010 SP2 - SP3 update.

    Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry if this is a really simple thing, but i've played around for hours and exhausted google.
I run a 2010 exchange server for everyone at the office, and today I updated from 2010 SP2 to SP3.
The problem I have is auto discover no longer accepts anyones username or password. If you set the account up on the client machine by manually entering the details everything works great.
All the DNS records are correct and have been working for 2+ years. I have recreated the Autodiscovery virtual directory in EMC.
If i manually browse to mydomain/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml, when asked for a username and password it says it incorrect. I can then log in to OWA with the same credentials and it works.
    Thanks,
    Garrett

    Hi,
Based on my knowledge, the above issue is caused by the loopback check being enabled. Please follow the steps below to disable loopback on the CAS servers:
    1. Run regedit, in Registry Editor, locate and then click the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Lsa
    2. Right-click Lsa, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
    3. Type DisableLoopbackCheck, and then press ENTER.
    4. Right-click DisableLoopbackCheck, and then click Modify.
    5. In the Value data box, type 1, and then click OK.
    6. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer.
Hope this can be helpful to you.

Should the advice above not fix things for you...
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

    hello
I can't reinstall osx lion from internet, and display a message"cannot find installation information ,please contact applecare, what should i do?

I'm no Lion expert, but I believe you can boot from the Recovery partition by pressing the Command and R keys on startup, then reinstall.

  • Boot camp, "cannot find installation disk."

What do I do? It's a Microsoft download from the MSDN Academic Alliance (Win 7 Prof. 64-bit) and I am getting this error.
I downloaded the Win 7 Prof. from Microsoft's MSDN AA site on a PC.
Opened boot campo and created the partition and the CD is visible in finder (.ISO) but boot camp says "cannot find installation disk."
So I moved the .ISO to my desktop and burned a new CD using the iMac Superdrive and receive the samer error.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Boot Camp will not install from an ISO file. You must have a bootable DVD. Whatever is on your disc image it apparently is not what is on a bootable DVD. You may simply have a .exe installer application that will only work on a Windows machine or on a pre-exisitng Windows system on a Boot Camp partition.

  • Software update cannot find installed App's  in sub-folder

    Hi All,
I have same kind of problem - I created folder called "iLife' 11" and moved there all App's which belong to this package. As soon as I did this Software Update cannot find anything. For example Apple released iPhoto' 11 (9.1.1) update and Software Update did not find it until I moved it back to "Applications".
BTW I have same problem with Adobe App's. Adobe update did not see Photoshop which has been moved to sub-folder.
My question is DO I have any chance to put App's to sub-folder and get them automatically updated by Software update? IF so, what should I do?

All sub-folders located in /Applications/ not in /Users/username/Applications. Actually /Users/username/Applications/ is empty on my mac.
What I trying to have is sub-folder (for example called Photo where I will have all applications for working with images (Photoshop, Nikon Scan, SilverFast and so on) in one locations or iLife' 11.
I took this idea from folder "Utilities" I can put App there and it worked and updated without any problems.
As far as I understand this problem (from Unix point of view) is a PATH problems. Software Update cannot find App in the folder which not listed in PATH.
If I create link (allies) for application in /Applications/ folder it will updated.

  • Error when trying to install the iSCSI target - Cannot find the Windows PowerShell data file 'ImportExportIscsiTargetConfiguration.psd1'

    Hi,
I'm just attempting to setup an iSCSI target on a freshly installed Windows 2012r2 box, but I get the following error when attempting to Create and iSCSI virtual disk via the wizard after a successful
installation of the iSCSI target role.
    The full error is:
Cannot find the Windows PowerShell data file 'ImportExportIscsiTargetConfiguration.psd1' in directory 'C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\IscsiTarget\en-GB\', or in any parent culture.
I tried to uninstall, then reinstall the role but no go.
The Server Locale and UI was all updated to en-GB but this folder does not appear to exist in this location. Rather, the folder I can see is:
    'C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\IscsiTarget\en-US\'
I'm going to attempt to copy the 'en-US' folder to 'en-GB' to see what happens, but I would like to know why this has occurred in the first place? Other roles have installed (such as AD DS AD CS and
IIS) on other machines with no issue.
    Many thanks
    Chris
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
The error "Cannot find the Windows PowerShell data file 'ImportExportIscsiTargetConfiguration.psd1'" occured, because the file 'ImportExportIscsiTargetConfiguration.psd1' can't be loaded under the folder en-GB with current culture.
I recommend you can copy this .psd1 file under  'C:\Windows\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules\IscsiTarget'. Essentially if PowerShell can’t find the specified data file for the current culture it will “fallback” to the top-level data
    file in this case.

If there is anything else regarding this issue, please feel free to post back.

When I try to update itunes, I get the following:  The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.  Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes64.msi in the box below.

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

"The file ’C:\Program Files\iTunes is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes. Try to find the installation package ‘ iTunes.msi ’ in a folder from which you can install iTunes."
    What folder will work ???

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?
