I think there is not native rule for this, but you could try a transport rule which removes all attachments over a very small file size like 1KB.

  • Exchange OWA does not load OWA for Exchange 2010 users

I have recently installed Exchange 2013 SP1 CU4 in my existing Exchange 2010 SP3 environment but when I use Exchange 2013 OWA to login Exchange 2010 users (it should automatically take the user to Exchange 2010 OWA) but I get this error message "Forbidden
403- Access is denied". However exchange 2010 users can login to their /ecp directory from exchange 2013. Exchange 2010 users can use OWA using their exchange2010/owa URL without any problems. We do not have any http or https redirection enabled
on any of the server. Also I have tried to uncheck the "Required SSL" settings for default web site on both Exchange servers but error is still same. Any help will be highly appreciated.

    Hi,
According to your description, your Exchange 2013 cannot proxy OWA request to Exchange 2010 server, but ECP request can work properly.
In this case, I'd like to confirm OWA and ECP settings on Exchange 2013 and 2010 servers before going further:
    Get-OWAvituraldirectory |fl identify,*url,*authentication
    Get-ECPvituraldirectory |fl identify,*url,*authentication

  • Exchange 2003 users are unable to send attachments larger then 8 MB to Exchange 2010 users on the same LAN

I am migrating from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.
Users who are still on Exchange 2003 cannot send attachments any larger than around 8MB to Exchange 2010 users on the same LAN.
Users on Exchange 2010 can send large attachments to fellow Exchange 2010 users without issue.
I do not have any quota restrictions on Exchange 2010.
Had a look at the Exchange 2003 Connector but could not see any reference to attachement restrictions.
    Has anyone come across this?

  • Exchange 2010 users cannot open Exchange 2013 shared mailbox

    Title says it all.
We're in the process of migrating 1000+ mailboxes to Exchange 2013. A number of shared mailboxes have been migrated, but those users still on 2010 cannot open them.
Is this just how it is, or is there a way around it?

    Hi,
I tested in my lab, if the shared mailbox is on Exchange 2010, I could open this shared mailbox successfully. Then I moved this shared mailbox to Exchange 2013, after that, I couldn’t open it anymore, I got the following error:
Besides, I tried to open a shared mailbox on Exchange 2013 which was not moved from Exchange 2010, it is the same error message.
Based on the test, it seems that Exchange 2010 users can’t open shared mailbox on Exchange 2013. So I recommend you move those users to Exchange 2013.

  • No Free/Busy Information for Exchange 2010 users in Outlook 2010 client, 2010 OWA shows this information fine

I have looked for hours and hours on Google and this web site for this type of issue and nothing seems to help.
    Problem:
On my new Windows 2008 R2 /Exchange 2010 server with IIS7 installed, I can use Outlook 2010 client to login and send and receive e-mail but when I try to busy search internal Exchange users I get no information (cross-hatch), but the sender of the Meeting Request
can see their own free/busy information fine.  And OWA users can see free/busy information fine, as can Outlook 2003 client users against this Exchange 2010 server when logged in.
I don't know if I have a certificate problem with regard to IIS7 or Exchange 2010, I did not create my own certificate , it is just what was installed by default when I installed and configured Win2K8 server, IIS7 and Exchange.
On the Windows 7 workstations with Outlook 2010 client, I am not logging into the Exchange 2010 server DNS domain, if that makes any difference.  On these workstations I can ping "autodiscover.my.exchange.server.com" and my.exchange.server.com

    Hi,
How many users encounter this issue, all users with Outlook 2010 or some specific users?
According to your post, the Error code 600 indicates that your Autodiscover service is working well. as for the certificate mismatch issue, we can also following the KB below to resolve it:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940726/en-us
The Free/Busy information in Exchange 2010 is using the Availability service to
    retrieve it. Please directly access
https://mail.mydomain.ae/EWS/Exchange.asmx in IE and see whether a proper XML file is returned.
     Or we can go to
https://testexchangeconnectivity.com and check MS Exchange Web Services Connectivity Tests.

  • Outlook 2013/ Exchange 2010 User Mailbox reached Limit and OWA is not reachable

Hello Folks,I have a strange Outlook/ Exchange problem with one of our Users, interestingly it’s the Boss of our company….The Background:- We have 2 Domains @company-1 or @company-2- We have 1 Exchange 2010 Server Version 14.03.0224.002- Till March of this year our Emails where hosted externally, we used to download the Emails every 2 minutes from POP3 Mailboxes into Exchange- We have 18 Users- So every User had a User account on our Exchange and a Mailbox externally- Now we host our Emails our self via MX and DNS Records(mail.company.cc)- The User kept their Exchange accounts, OWA is now working too So far all works well on my little Server farm. The Catch:Usually our users have only one Email address either @company-1 or @company-2 Except our Boss and one other User, they have an Email address in both Domains They have addresses one...

    Hi,
I suggest to repair .ost file to check this issue by the following steps:
    Exit Outlook.
In Control Panel, click or double-click Mail.
In the Mail Setup dialog box, click E-mail Accounts.
Click the Data Files tab, select the Exchange account, and then click
Open File Location. A file explorer window opens to the location of the data file for the Exchange account. The
Account Settings and Mail Setup dialog boxes will remain open, behind the file explorer window.
Close the Account Settings and the Mail Setup dialog boxes, then return to the file explorer window.
Important: be sure to close these two dialog boxes before you delete the file. If they aren't closed, Windows may display an error message about a conflict.
In the file explorer window, right-click the Exchange data file and then click
Delete. The next time you start Outlook, a new .ost file is created for the account.
    Best Regards.

  • Created mailbox for new user in Exchange 2010, user not visible in AD.

    Hi everyone!
This morning I created a mailbox for a new user on my Exchange 2010 box.
Everything works fantastically but I am unable to view the new user in AD except by searching.  If I run a search the results say the user exists in my Users container, and I can view the properties of the user account from the search results, but I
am unable to actually see the user profile object in the Users container.
I notice in EMC that the mailbox has a user icon on the mailbox icon instead of the regular standard icon - I'm not sure what this implies.
Can anyone offer some advice as to why this happens and how to resolve it?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
AD objects store in the Domain partition Database.
Its replication Scope is :Domain Wide
Its replication model is: Multi Master
    There are two possible cause.
    1. AD replication latency if you have several DCs.
You could wait for AD replication or force replication, Click
    refresh on ADUC.
    2. You create the new user
     in other OU, not  Users.
You could run this command to get
     the user’s DistingushedName attribution.
    Get-mailbox –identity

  • Exchange 2010, users in C:\Users?

    Hello,
We appear to have a problem on our Exchange 2010 servers. We have a lot of user profiles on it for some reason. These people cannot log on to the servers so I don't understand why they have them? Not all users have profiles, probably around 5-10%.
    Any advise will be appreciated.

  • Outlook anywhere issue for exchange 2010 users

Hi Guys really hoping some one can help me out here.
I have just introduced 2 new exchange 2013 servers into our existing exchange 2010 environment. 1 CAS server and 1 mailbox server.
The issue i'm having is that any users that are on exchange 2010 mailbox servers can't connect to their profiles in outlook via the exchange 2013 cas box. OWA works fine and users that are on exchange 2013 mailboxes also work fine.
Authentication is set to on exchange 2013 and 2010 cas boxes to
    Exchange 2013 cas
    ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Ntlm

    Exchange 2010 cas
    ExternalClientAuthenticationMethod : Basic

I was also wondering should I have a reg key on my exchange cas box of HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Rpc\RpcProxy\validports_autoconfigure_exchange  ???

Thanks for the reply i have changed it to the following
    Exchange 2013 cas

  • Z10 with Exchange 2010 Activesync missing incoming messages

Z10 with Exchange 2010 Activesync won't download all messages, missing messages include messages sent to internal Exchange distribution groups and bulk email (I could live with this one, lol) Activesync works fine on iOS and android devices (100+ devices in my organization with no issues). Tried enabling secure IMAP on the exchange server, and with this config the messages are delivered, but the body of the same messages missing with the activesync setup have a [No body found] in the message body and are otherwise blank. Tried running the EAVT tool and it returns "Nothing was found for provided credentials" . My personal Gmail account works fine on the phone, tried loading the 10.1 Blackberry OS and had the same problem. Tried setting up the account multiple times, used both autodiscover and manual setup to no avail. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • Exchange 2013 Non Deliverable Messages do not show correct information

I tried looking around for a solution for this but have been unable to.
We have a new (1 month old) single-server installation of Exchange 2013 CU5, running on server 2012. It's in coexistence with an Exchange 2007 box. All users, groups, and everything have been migrated, we actually just shut down 2007 today. However, Exchange
2013 never seems to give accurate or helpful NDRs.
When someone sends an email to, let's say, a user who has left the company, so their mailbox is gone, the user who sent the email will receive an NDR. However, the NDR will not tell you the user who the email failed to. It shows the sender's account and
says "command not allowed". This happens only to internal recipients. When sending to an external domain, we receive the NDR from the other domain with the explanation that the user does not exist or whatever. But within our domain, we never get
a "helpful" NDR. It's just "command not allowed" and the email doesn't get to ANY of the recipients that it was sent to. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated!
Delivery has failed to these recipients or groups:
[email protected] Your message wasn't delivered due to a permission or security issue.
It may have been rejected by a moderator, the address may only accept email from certain senders, or another restriction may be preventing delivery.

I just tested, and yes, it happens when sending to any invalid SMTP address within our domain. I also tried sending an email to a non-existant user in our domain from my gmail account and received the same message with "command not allowed". We
are running GFI MailEssentials for spam filtering (on the same server), and I also have content filtering and recipient filtering enabled on exchange. For GFI, we exported the config we had for GFI on our 2007 server and imported it into the GFI installation
on our Exchange 2013 server. Should I try disabling content and/or recipient filtering on Exchange? Should I try shutting off GFI and send a test email?
I appreciate your time and effort on this!!
I did a message trace on the test email I sent to a non-existent SMTP address on our domain and this is what I got... Not sure how helpful this is :(
Sorry, my account isn't "verified" yet so I can't post pictures. I put the output up here for now. http://andyslights.com/trace.jpg

  • EWS 1.2, Exchange 2010 SP2/SP3 - Appointment message body gets wrecked on update

We're seeing a very irritating issue with EWS and Exchange when updating the message body on an Appointment. To head it off, it does not appear to be the bug detailed here:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dhruvkh/archive/2012/05/18/sending-appointments-from-ews-apps-where-did-my-html-go.aspx
It happens on both 2010 SP2 and SP3. We're creating Appointments with some HTML formatting the message body. Nothing fancy, just a few tables and a little bit of inline styling (since a css style header disappears into a black hole when you try to use it
as part of the Appointment message body). We're able to make a nice-looking message body that goes out in the meeting requests. Well, with the exception of downlevel text at the top, but there doesn't seem to be much we can do about that short of a double-tap
    save.
The problem comes into play if we need to update the message body on the Appointment. All of this is automated, so the user cannot directly edit it. If we make any changes to the message body, it completely wrecks the HTML. It's still an HTML-formatted message,
but much of the styling is lost and it looks awful. This happens without fail when we alter the message body of an Appointment with any considerable level of HTML formatting. BodyType is HTML, of course. I've done some digging on the best body algorithm and
some of the MAPI properties related to it. Some interesting bits of note:
When the Appointment is first saved, PidTagRtfInSync is true. PidTagNativeBody is 2, which indicates an RTF message. PidTagBody is present. PidTagRtfCompressed is present. However, PidTagBodyHtml is not present. After updating the Appointment with a message
body edit, PidTagBodyHtml is present, but now PidTagRtfInSync is false and PidTagNativeBody is 3.
If PidTagBodyHtml is set directly as an extended property instead of setting the message body via the EWS Appointment object, then the formatting is wrecked right out of the gate. At least it's consistent that way...
Attempting to set PidTagNativeBody manually had no effect.
When viewing the PR_BODY_HTML contents between a good and bad message, the good one will contain the transformed HTML. It doesn't look much like what we had initially handed to it, but gets changed in the conversion process. The bad one is much closer to
what we wrote in actual HTML, but has still had much of the styling removed. It's as if creating the Appointment does the RTF conversion, but any subsequent changes use a completely different code path serverside and there does not appear to be any way around
it short of even more guess and check with EWS and Exchange chewing up HTML. This is complicated by being unable to find any documentation that details how and what gets changed, discarded, etc in the process.
This will always affect requests, but only seems to affect Appointments in the calendar of attendees if the body includes the downlevel text. Appointments without the downlevel text appear to survive updates with their formatting intact. Appointments with
downlevel text get their formatting wrecked with updates.
Has anyone run into this before? It was painful enough when we found that our previously-used email HTML formatter wouldn't work with EWS and everything had to be inlined, but now it seems that there are even more inexplicable problems to get around. Is
there a way to update the message body without this happening?

Ugh... hopefully I can ask you gentleman how to solve my issue.
I recently implemented code to allow our users to turn-on HTML-encoding for when our Sync'ing app goes to add/update items for them into Exchange.
If thev'ye turned-on HTML formatting, when I create a CalendarItemType's (in C# based off the EWSProxies.EWS.Itemtype) the Body.Value is being set with a string which contains very minimal HTML tags... just <br>'s instead of "\r\n" and for
URL link values we are embedding into the text, I'm encapsulating those within an <a href>
    Example: <a href="http://TheWebSite.com/EventDisplay.aspx?uri=1234">Event Display Link</a>
My problem is... when I retrieve an item from Exchange... there is a huge amount of extra HTML encoding it wraps around everything!
By inspecting in the debugger... I've discerned that :
For Appts... the main bunch of text that I inserted in an item when originally creating it is contained just within the <div> tag.
For Tasks... the main bunch of text that I inserted in an item when originally creating it is contained just within the <body> tag (and on these there is no <div> tag created).
I was able to use the HTML Agility Pack and load this Body.Value string into the enhanced HtmlDocument object.  I first attempt to parse first for the <div> nodes contents. If the <div> is not-null that's an Appt.  If the <div>
is null, I instead parse out the <body> nodes contents, and those are Tasks.
    I noticed for Appts :
For every <br> tag I had in my original text.. it appends two consecutive "\r\n" 's after it!  No problem I can just do a Replace("\r\n", "")  and zap those. But then the <a href> I have in there... it
    encapsulates it with a <font> node where it sets a color for the link and also an underline <u> node.  I can handle the <u> nodes easy enough with a Replace("<u>","") and a Replace("</u>", "");
But what about the damn <font> node?  It's in the format of <font color=\"blue\"></font> and I'm sure the \"blue"\ part could be different for every user.
    I noticed for Tasks :
It prepends a "\r\n" just inside the begininng<body> tag. Each of the original <br> tags gets an "\r\n" appended behind it.  and for the TaskType for the <a href> node IT DOES NOT encapsulate it with the <font>
and <u> nodes as it does for the Appt.
How can I stop it from changing the Body content when retrieving it?  Will it not change anything if I go the extra mile and make sure to wrap everything with an <html> and <body> node when initially creating the items?
Any and all help on this issue is sorely appreciated.
    Thank You,
    -G
