Exchange 2013 SP1 OWA something went wrong
Hi,
I have a three node exchange 2013 DAG cluster that I upgraded to SP1 three days ago. All email flows currently work and ECP is available on all node on all browsers for all users. OWA was working on 2013 CU3. After
the upgrade to SP1 and I confirmed that all email flows were working, I did change the administrators username. I noticed OWA problems after that, but they would have happened before the administrator rename. I have confirmed
certificates and binding are correct on all three nodes. I did rebuild the OWA directory on one node with no success.
However OWA is only available using Firefox (tested on several users on several machines) . Logging on to ECP using IE 11 works fine (multiple users) Logging on to OWA using IE 11 give me the error. This is happening on
all three nodes using IE 11 but not Firefox 27
something went wrong
Sorry, we can't get that information right now. Please try again later. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk.

I have three servers exch01,exch02,and exch03. All three have both CAS and mailbox server roles. This problem does not occur using firefox (OWA and ECP are available) but the problem occurs with IE 11 and safari (ECP
work, OWA dos not) I have tried this from different machines and different users. I have cleared the browser's cache and have even reloaded the client machines. The problem occurs across all three exchange servers.
I have used iis manager to confirm the binding are correct. (works on Firefox)
From the local server , If I browse to
https://localhost/ecp I get my ecp page. If I browse to
https://localhost/owaI get the something went wrong page (X-OWA-Error: ClientError;exMsg='_u' is undefined;file=ReferenceError: '_u' is undefined)
If I try to browse to https://localhost:444/owa/proxylogon.owa I get the error page "this page cannot be displayed"
I confirmed port 444 bindings are correct

Exchange 2013 - OWA "Something Went Wrong", Out of office in Outlook "Server unavailable"
Hi,
We have a new deployment of Exchange 2013 CU2 V2 running on a Windows 2012 server. Everything has been running without issues and then without any real clue to why, we are now getting an issue where OWA says "Something Went Wrong" after processing
your login, (it appears to process the login as if I type in incorrect details it tells me the password/username is wrong).
At the same time we have also lost the ability to run the Out Of Office in Outlook which comes back saying the server is not available and we can't seem to share calendars correctly either. (Can set Out Of Office via the Management Shell without issues).
When running a Get-Serverhealth on the OWA.Protocol it tells me the OWASelfTestMonitor is unhealthy.
I've tried re-creating the OWA, EWS Virtual Directorys and also the autodiscover but with no effect. I've also restarted the server.
Outlook 2013 and mobile phones are working fine on the server and the Exchange Admin Centre is also working without issues.
I am getting tempted to apply CU2 again to see if this sorts it but don't really like doing this on a server with 50 live users on it...
In the eventlog I can see lots of the 2 errors listed below which seems to line up. (System Log and Application Log seem to be clear of other errors or warnings.)

lots more data...Hi Angela,
I can't see any re-directions on the website and have certainly not set any intentionally. I did try installing the Remote Web Gateway on the server and then found that it doesn't work on an exchange box and removed it but the server was working after
this.
The HTTP Redirect in Default Web Site is not showing anything set and the same for the Back End.
The bindings on the default site all look normal with;
http 80 127.0.0.1
https 443 127.0.0.1
http 80 *
http 443 *
The same is mirrored in the Exchange Back End site but with ports 81 and 444.
Running the Outlook auto configure just using Autodiscover all looks good with the URLs listed all pointing to (http)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/whatever... and the log says Autodiscover to (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/Autodiscover/Autodiscover.xml Suceeded
(0x00000000)
But, if I type in the OOF address of (https)://mail.mydomain.co.uk/EWS/exchange.asmx I get a login prompt but once user details are entered I then get;

Really wishing I had installed Exchange 2010 at this point!! Just can't see why its not working :( -
Hi,
I installed a new exch2013 sp1 server and created few users.
In that Administrator can able to access OWA & Admin Center without any error.
Where Other users not able to access OWA- its prompting error Something Went wrong.
I didn't check with Outlook client.
I gone thru forums and reset the Virtual Directory, Cleared the Exchcanary data 0,1,2 using ADSI edit.
Nothing works. Please help me to resolve this issue.
Regards
DineshHi Dinesh,
From your description, I recommend you use the Test-ServiceHealth cmdlet to check if all services Exchange server needed are started. If no, please start the services Exchange server needed and check the result.
What's more, please make sure that OWA is enabled for other users.
Hope it helps.
Best regards,
Amy Wang

SharePoint 2013 - Refiners "Sorry, something went wrong."
Good Afternoon,
I have an issue that has had me stumped for a couple of days now. I have a number of search results pages and on one of them and only one of them I am getting an error.
Whenever I add a refiners webpart and save the page everything works fine. However if I add or remove any refiners I get the infamous "Sorry, something went wrong." Whats causing my problems though is that when I click on Show Details there is
no correlation ID and I cannot see any errors in the ULS logs that might be related to this.
Using SharePoint Manager 2013 I opened the page properties and selected the webpart and I am getting the following message against "Effective Storage" and "Permissions" : Trying to use an SPWeb object that has been closed or disposed
and is no longer valid.
So in desperation I deleted the page and recreated it but the issue persists. The only thing different about this page and the other pages is that this page show people results. However if I change the query to use the "System Everything" results
source I still get the error.
edit:
I have just tried to amend the refiners on an existing page and I can amend them with no issues. I then created a brand new page and I get the same error. On my new pages I changed nothing except adding the search box / search results and refiners web parts.
So its an issue that does not affect existing pages only new ones..
More info: I have just created a new site on the same same site collection and created a page on this new site and I get the same issue.
Regards,
Brian JonesHello,
Thanks for your interest.
These are the steps:
1. Create a new page
2. Add the following web parts, Search Box, Search Results, Refiners. If I then just save and close the page everything works fine.
3. Edit the page
4. Edit the refiners web part.
5. Click on change refiners* select any refiner that is already added and remove it (any it does not matter).
6. Click OK on the web part properties. Immediately I get this issue. As you can see there is no correlation id in the error message.
7. Edit the refiner web part again and re-add the refiner I removed. Click on OK on the web part edit pane. The issue persists.
8. If I delete the refiner web part and re-add it the refiners web part works fine again unless I try and modify the selected refiners.
Please note this issue occurs if I add refiners as well.

Viewing attachments in Public Folders in Exchange 2013 SP1 OWA
Hello!
Tell me please should the file preview work in Public Folders (for example for docx files) in OWA 2013 SP1? This file can be easily opened in MS Word but clicking the
Preview leads to the following error:
Thank you in advance,
MichaelHi Jessie,
Thank you for your help!
"To preview these files in Inbox in OWA, Exchange 2013 could has its own process to achieve this function. I tried it in Exchange 2013 CU1 environment, it is also working when previewing these files in the Inbox
in OWA." - that's the only possible explanation... but it means this article is not correct:
http://technet.microsoft.com/library/2591b1be-92c4-4192-9f5e-e4e6b319170a"
"By default, the following file types are displayed
using Office Web Apps Server:
Word documents (doc, docx, dotx, dot, dotm extensions)
Excel documents (xls, xlsx, xlsm, xlm, xlsb extensions)
PowerPoint documents (ppt, pptx, pps, ppsx, potx, pot, pptm, potm, ppsm extensions)
...cause I can preview files without Office Web Apps Server. Why there's no corresponding information on technet?
To put it mildly, documentation for Exchange 2013 is rather strange...

Workflow approvals in OWA 2013 - App Error something went wrong
Hi,
We are testing an attribute workflow approval. When the approver reads the message in OWA 2013, expands 'action items' we see the following error...instead of the usual 'Approve' or 'Reject' buttons. This computer does not have Outlook, so we cannot deploy
the FIM add-ins and extensions...but I dont think they are required if we're just using OWA?
Thank youHello Shim!
As far as I know the action items in OWA cannot display "approve" or "reject" options witch sends an response to FIM Service account Mailbox. The options Microsoft offers is FIM portal, Outlook with add-ins.

Exchange 2013 SP1 OWA the page can't be displayed issue
OWA the page can't be displayed
Hi, i've Exchange topology (upgraded from 2007 one server)
2 CAS servers NLB with VIP 172.16.0.98
2 MBX Servers DAG with DAG
using Cisco ASA NAT public IP for example 9.9.9.9 ....> 172.16.0.98
i've created split DNS zone for public domain in internal DNS to unify URLs internal and external Mail.Domain.Com
i've created internal zone called Mail.Domain.Com and Autodiscover.domain.com point to VIP 172.16.0.98
Everything is OK but sometimes users report when they access OWA from inside or outside when user submit user/ pass faced error the page can't be displayed?
i tried this this user from different browsers and different computer the same issue
if i tried another user from the same computer it works fine
the strangest point after 30-60 minutes it backs to live and everything going fine
i checked event viewer there is nothing related to this issue.
in sometimes if i tried to access manual to CAS1.Domain.Local / IP address/ owa it works fine.
URL changes to https://Mail.Domain.Com/owa/auth.owa
i red some about putting my public domain as remote domain but it's not clear !
any ideas please? If it works properly when connecting directly to the server, then something is misconfigured in the load balancer or something else in that data path.

Thanks Ed,
NLB converged is OK. and all users are running well, except while this issue accrued.
i checked event viewer under exchange managed availability

Exchange 2013 SP1 -OWA and ECP login authentication
Coexisting with Exchange 2007 in the same Org.
Just been through a nightmare where I changed the authentication type from Basic and Forms to Windows Integrated Authentication through the EAC for OWA and ECP. It broke them completely. Three hours later after rebuilding the two virtual directories I have
it working.
So I learnt about the backend process for both ECP and OWA and realised I have to have the authentication types the same in front and back end.
1. Is there a way to set authentication for both components at the same time? (that's a stoopid design)
2. So now I have integrated authentication- but I cannot login as someone else unless of course I login to windows as that other person. Which authentication do I need to add to allow prompting ifor other credentials (or is this not possible)?
3. Set-ECPvirtualdirectory can set the backend but get-ecpvirtualdirectory can not. It was really difficult to see the two sections had different authentication settings. Is there a way to see them?I would recommend Basic Authentication and set Group Policy to add Exchange URLs to Trusted sites and modify IE settings to "Automatic login using current username/password" option for trusted settings.
This way Single-Signon would work for domain joined systems and Basic authentication would prompt for any unsuccessful logins
However, from the best practices perspective, I would recommend Form based authentication, unless there are business reasons for not doing it this way.

Lync integration not working after Exchange 2013 SP1 is installed...
Hi,
I have two Exchange 2013 servers running and everything is fine, almost.
The problem is that on the first server we had OWA with Lync integration working before installing SP1, but after the installation of SP1, it doesn't Work any more.
The second server was installed with SP1 from the start, but we can't get the Lync integration to Work on this one either..
When we log in to OWA, it just starts to sign in but then says "there was a problem signing in, if this continues please contact your helpdesk"
I have checked the Exchange server for events, and i can see the event ID 112 everytime i recycle the Application Pool, so there are some connection between Exchange and Lync..
Have any of you Guys seen or experienced any thing like this?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
KennethHi,
I recommend that you refer to the following article to troubleshoot the issue:
Troubleshooting tips for Exchange 2013 OWA IM Integration to Lync 2013
This post describes how to configure Exchange 2013 OWA to have IM integration to Lync 2013. Here I would like to give some troubleshooting tips in case you can't get the integration to work.
In addition, here is a similar thread for your reference:

Hi
Exchange 2010 users are NOT able to connect to their mailboxes when they go through exchange 2013 OWA address. We get a message that says following ---> "Something went wrong"
Following is our URL. The address is pointing to 2013 CAS loadbalancer VIP. Outlook anywhere is working fine. What is going on?
Important: All my exchange 2010 / 2013 URIs are the same as suggested by Microsoft (Owa, ecp, activesync, ews, autodiscover): --> mail.domain.com/XXXHello Rawa,
Can you log on Exchange 2010 OWA using its localhost address?
Please make sure the intenralurl value is set to Exchange 2010’s local host name and set the Externalurl to Null.

no they are not shared mailboxes.
here are the logs.
Not sure if this will make any difference, but there are 2 domains on exchange one is mail.domain1.com and another is webmail.domain.com
we have added another owa virtual directory for the second domain when we were having issues but i think since we are having a problem on the first domain owa, the second one will have the same.
just wondering why ecp can still work when owa doesnt. outlook clients can connect and so are phones.

2013 OWA - Open Another Mailbox, :-( something went wrong, Error 500
Our client is experiencing an issue where they are not able to open another mailbox even if the user has full access to the account under mailbox delegation. The user would click on the 'Open Another Mailbox" and they receive the following error
something went wrong
The URL shows the following:
https://domain.com/owa/auth/errorfe.aspx?httpCode=500
The problem I have is similar to the following post but my client is also behind a UAG 2010 server, and I cannot change to forms based authentication.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/exchange/en-US/9345d396-b5a6-4d26-a498-7d1539f85d13/exchange-2013-owa-http-500-error-when-opening-another-mailbox?forum=exchangesvrclients
The error within the IIS OWA logs shows as follows.
2014-02-04 17:48:04 10.100.2.10 GET /owa/auth/errorfe.aspx httpCode=500&cafeReqId=f9be7757-b123-4ce1-a585-b9c4ef45cd4b; 443 - 10.100.2.42 Mozilla/5.0+(compatible;+MSIE+10.0;+Windows+NT+6.2;+WOW64;+Trident/6.0)
https://domain.com/owa/[email protected]/?offline=disabled 200 0 0 0
I'm running out of ideas on what could be the issue and but our users will need to manage other mailboxes pretty soon.
Edit: I should also add that the permissions are correct as the user can connect to the target mailbox via Outlook 2013.Hi Bryan
It should be happening for most of the mailboxes since we ran into similar kind of problem recently
There could be 2 reasons for not happening
IIS Settings not configured properly
Permission issues
Check SSL Settings on DWS and ensure Ignore Client Certificates is selected
Also remove SSL from DWS for HTTP to HTTPS Redirect
Check the permission under ADUC
Check if Exchange Server Object is member of tab of Domain Admins if so remove them. Also remove Exchange Organization Administrators and Exchange Servers group from Organization Management if they are added
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you.

MCP MCSA MCSE MCT MCTS CCNAHi,
Since your ECP can work fine, please run the following command and post the results here:
Get-EcpVirtualDirectory | FL Identity,*Authentication*,*URL*
Please note to set the Authentication method by using EMS or EAC instead of IIS manager. Just restart IIS service after changing any authentication settings in Exchange.

Date: 1/2/1601 3:22:42 PMHi,
From the above description, "Something went wrong" error shows an incorrect date. The date information is calculated based on the date of the Exchange server to which the user is connected. In some scenarios, such as network connectivity failure,
the Outlook Web App client-side script is unable to connect to the server to obtain the correct date. When this occurs, a generic "1/2/1601" date is used. In order to resolve this issue, you need to install the Cumulative Update 6 for Exchange
Server 2013.
For more information, here is a KB for your reference.

Outlook 2013 something went wrong sorry we ran into a problem
my outlook started hanging and causing problems a few days ago where sent messages were sitting in outbox without sending. and when you closed and reopened outlook the messages has vanished completely without sending. I'm unable to get outlook
to open. I keep getting the message something went wrong sorry we ran into a problem. All other office 2013 programs will function correctly. I have also tried to open the control panel/mail (outlook 2013) (32 bit) icon, but this pauses
for a while and then brings up no window to configure an account. I managed to get my exchange account set up in the mail app but I'm not interested in using the mail app when i should be able to utilize all the functionality of outlook.
I have spent a couple days reading all the posts and tried uninstalling office 2013 pro and the mail app thinking i'd clean install the 64-bit version of office but to no avail. Looks like the preloaded office 13 cannot be uninstalled, so I then
downloaded the O15CTRRemove tool which worked in removing office 2013, but did not fix the problem of outlook not opening. This is driving me crazy and I have tried many suggestions from the online forums, and have got outlook to open a couple of times where
it was then asking for a product key, and when the key was entered outlook would close straight away and not allow it to open again. I have tried running the repair tool many times, and this does not work. Every other program I have had zero issues with; autocad,
adobe suite, everything runs perfect. I just want to get my outlook all set up.Please advise!Hi,
Please check whether you can send message in OWA. If there is no issue in OWA, it should be an Outlook issue. It seems that there is just one user encontered this issue in your environment. If so, please start Outlook in safe mode by using "Outlook /safe"
in Run windows to check whether the issue persists. If it fails, please change a computer to try again.
Thanks,
