Hi,
Have you tried to uninstall Windows Backup Feature and continue to upgrade Exchange server 2013?
If the issue persists, please check the setup log (located at Local Disk:\ExchangeSetupLogs) and post the error information for my further research.
Best regards,

    Hi,
    According to the error message, it is highly likely caused by insufficient permission.
    Please verify that your user account is member of Exchange administrators group and not limit by RBAC, than try again to see if this works.
    If the issue continues, run the command below to uninstall the product:
    msiexec.exe /X {code 4934d1ea-be46-48b1-8847-f1af20e892c1}

  • Exchange 2003 Removal fails w/ Error code 0X80072030 (8240): There is no such object on the server- pls read

    Dear all,
    I know there are quite some threads regarding this issue. But I've been looking at all of them w/o any solution for my problem. Here we go...
    I've followed all instructions for a Exchange 2003 to 2010 transition. All went fine to the point I'm trying to uninstall Exchange 2003 via Control Panel/Software/Remove. So far I did the following:
    1. Move mailboxes to Exchange Server 2010 using Move Mailbox Wizard or Powershell => successfully
    2. Rehome the Offline Address Book (OAB) generation server to Exchange Server 2010  => successfully
    3. Rehome Public Folder Hierarchy on new Exchange Server 2010 Admin Group  => successfully
    4. Transfer all Public Folder Replicas to Exchange Server 2010 Public folder store  => successfully
    5. Delete Public and Private Information Stores from Exchange 2003 server  => successfully
    6. Delete Routing Group Connectors to Exchange Server 2003  => successfully
    7. Delete Recipient Update Service agreements using ADSIEdit according to
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx => successfully
    8. Uninstall all Exchange 2003 servers => fails with "Error code 0X80072030 (8240): There is no such object on the server"
    I used the following articles while migrating to Exchange 2010:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb288905(EXCHG.80).aspx
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/833396/en-us
    http://www.simple-talk.com/content/article.aspx?article=882
    and several more.
    I looked into these forums regarding my problem and came up with:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283089/en-us
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822931
    I investigated the following possible reasons:
    - homeMDB attribute (no references to my Exchange 2003 anymore)
    - HomeMDBBL attribute (as described here
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/exchangesvrmigration/thread/f0e3edd7-34e5-46b8-8061-1991aaffc30f) (no Information Stores available anymore as they have been successfully removed)
    - msExchHomeServerName attribute (all pointing to my new Exchange 2010 server)
    - the "famous" postmaster issue as described here:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/283089/en-us (pointing to the new Exchange 2010 server)
    In order to investigate all attribute related issues a utilized a VBS script resulting in an Excel sheet I was easily able to filter:
    SET objRootDSE = GETOBJECT("LDAP://RootDSE")
    strExportFile = "C:\temp\MyExport.xls"
    strRoot = objRootDSE.GET("DefaultNamingContext")
    strfilter = "(&(objectCategory=Person)(objectClass=User))"
    strAttributes = "sAMAccountName,msExchHomeServerName,homeMDB,legacyExchangeDN,givenName,sn," & _
                                    "initials,displayName,physicalDeliveryOfficeName," & _
                                    "telephoneNumber,mail,wWWHomePage,profilePath," & _
                                    "scriptPath,homeDirectory,homeDrive,title,department," & _
                                    "company,manager,homePhone,pager,mobile," & _
                                    "facsimileTelephoneNumber,ipphone,info," & _
                                    "streetAddress,postOfficeBox,l,st,postalCode,c"
    strScope = "subtree"
    SET cn = CREATEOBJECT("ADODB.Connection")
    SET cmd = CREATEOBJECT("ADODB.Command")
    cn.Provider = "ADsDSOObject"
    cn.Open "Active Directory Provider"
    cmd.ActiveConnection = cn
    cmd.Properties("Page Size") = 1000
    cmd.commandtext = "<LDAP://" & strRoot & ">;" & strFilter & ";" & _
                                       strAttributes & ";" & strScope
    SET rs = cmd.EXECUTE
    SET objExcel = CREATEOBJECT("Excel.Application")
    SET objWB = objExcel.Workbooks.Add
    SET objSheet = objWB.Worksheets(1)
    FOR i = 0 To rs.Fields.Count - 1
                    objSheet.Cells(1, i + 1).Value = rs.Fields(i).Name
                    objSheet.Cells(1, i + 1).Font.Bold = TRUE
    NEXT
    objSheet.Range("A2").CopyFromRecordset(rs)
    objWB.SaveAs(strExportFile)
    rs.close
    cn.close
    SET objSheet = NOTHING
    SET objWB =  NOTHING
    objExcel.Quit()
    SET objExcel = NOTHING
    Wscript.echo "Script Finished..Please See " & strExportFile
    What I did find is that all my Exchange enabled users have an legacyExchangeDN attribute that is still pointing to my Exchange 2003 organization:
    e.g. "/o=First Organisation/ou=First Administrative Group/cn=Recipients/cn=Administrator"
    Could this cause any problems?
    Now the in depth look into my "Exchange Server Setup Progress.log":

    Any help would be greatly appreciated as I absolutely don't know how to remove my Exchange 2003. Manual removal is not an option.
    Alex

    I kept on searching and found something else:
    http://www.outlookforums.com/threads/33038-cannot-uninstall-Exchange-2000
    It says that the following groups need to be resided in the AD's default "Users" organizational unit:
    - Exchange Domain Servers
    - Exchange Enterprise Servers
    - Exchange Services Group
    Unfortunately I cannot find the "Exchange Services Group". Does that have something to do with my problem?
    Furthermore I found out that the Exchange 2003 has been originally installed with SBS 2003 back in time. The SBS 2003 has then be migrated to a regular Windows Server 2003 infrastructure with 2 DCs. But there still is a load of stuff reminiscent of SBS
    2003 within the AD.
    Then I dug deeper into my AD using ADSIEdit. I found another attribute homeMTA that is pointing to a corresponding Exchange server. After adjusting my aforementioned VBS script a was able to look into that attribute as well. I found 2 users pointing to my old
    Exchange server within their homeMTA attribute.
    Furthermore I saw that when trying to uninstall Exchange 2003 there is no path to my installation anymore. It's empty:
    Another issue?
    Regards
    Alex

  • Exchange 2013 upgrade from 2010 and no mail flow and cannot move mailboxes

    I am in the process of moving to Ex 2013 from 2010. I have installed Ex 2013 SP1 on a new server 2012 R2. All of my Ex 2010 servers are SP3 RU 5. Ex 2013 is running and I can connect through the EAC and see all other Exchange servers and connectors that
    were already in existence. Several puzzling things are happening now that the servers are in coexistence:
    1) As soon as Ex 2013 was installed on the network, many Outlook users are continuously being prompted to enter their domain credentials.  They can cancel the prompt and Outlook still sends/receives email.  No user mailboxes are on Ex 2013 yet.
    Why is this happening?
    2) I am following the Ex 2013 Deployment Assistant and I get to the step to move the Ex 2010 Arbitration mailbox to Ex 2013 and the move does not happen--it just says "syncing" and never completes.  I tried moving a test mailbox from Ex 2010
    to the 2013 database and I get the same result.  I created the move request on the Ex2013 server and I see it as queued on the Ex2010 server, so I know they are "talking" to each other.  However, when reviewing the status of the move I
    see "MapiExceptionNoAccess: Unable to open message store".
    3) There seems to be no mail flow on the same Ex2013 server or between the Ex 2010 and 2013 servers.  I created two new test user mailboxes in Ex 2013.  The Ex2013 mailboxes cannot send/receive to each other or to Ex 2010 users.  This
    seems strange, unless I am completely missing something in the Ex 2013 install?
    I know this is a lot in one post, but following the Deployment assistant, I was hoping this would be something that others have faced.  Thanks for any input here.

    Does the below points already fit for you.
    Exchange 2013 Supported with the following minimum versions of Exchange:

    2) Exchange 2013 CU2 or later on all Exchange 2013 servers in the organization.

  • Exchange 2013 OWA HTTP 500 error when opening another mailbox

    We have an Windows Server 2012 Exchange 2013 server with OWA.
    All users can login fine, but when I open another mailbox with my Admin account, having enabled access to that user's mailbox, the URL redirects to /owa/auth/errorfe.aspx?httpCode=500 and shows:
    something went wrong
    Sorry, we can't get that information right now. Please try again later. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk
    Google won't help me in this instance. Where in the eventlog are OWA events logged?

    Hello,
    I am joining to the thread opener, however, we do not use exchange server. we are using the Cloud services through Microsoft and as far as I know, the version is 2013 wave 15 (again, through Microsoft's cloud).
    when I open the outlook, I can see the shared mailbox just fine.
    when I open the office web access, and I search the mailbox through the 'add another mailbox..' It finds it however when I press the add button I get the HTTP 500 error.
    when I tried to open a different mailbox (another shared mailbox I gave myself permissions for), it opens just fine.
    it seems (from what I can tell) it is this specific shared mailbox that I cannot open through OWA while others I can.
    when I try to open the mailbox in question through a different internet browser (Chrome) I get this Error:
    NegotiateSecurityContext failed with for host 'db3pr04mb138.eurprd04.prod.outlook.com' with status'LogonDenied'
    the error seems to be persistent on this specific mailbox only regardless to what browser I am trying to access with.
    I can only assume that the solutions you (Winnie) offered isn't relevant in my case.
    thanks in advance for any attempt to help me with this issue.

  • Exchange 2013 RPC URL shows Error 404 Page Not Found

    Hi,
    I have been told by Barracuda Support to verify my Exchange 2013 RPC url is working correctly using the following address in a Web Browser:
    https://RoH server address/rpc
    When I hit this URL I input my credentials and get a Error 404 - Page Not Found.
    I dont have any issues with Outlook Anywhere and clients are working fine. The tests come from this article and I am wondering if they are still valid for Exchange 2013 so need some help:
    https://techlib.barracuda.com/BMA/EnableRoH
    Does anyone else get the 404 error when they try the RPC virtual directory? If I got rpc/rpcproxy.dll that works fine and no issues.
    We have Outlook Anywhere configured for NTLM authentication so maybe this is an issue and should be Basic?

    I did some digging in the CAS RPC logs and I found this connection attempt:
    <snip>
    2014-06-18T15:22:40.902Z,CAS-SERVER,RpcHttp,"S:Stage=EndRequest;S:UserName=domain\admin;S:OutlookSessionId=""{1A731432-5548-402F-892A-C9FE489BB78D}"";S:AuthType=Basic;S:Status=404 Not Found;S:HttpVerb=RPC_IN_DATA;S:UriQueryString=?pdc.domain.local:593;S:RequestId=7b1e355e-6448-4ed4-8112-8ab13d88a76f;S:ClientIp=192.168.0.17"
    </snip>
    As you can see the 404 Not Found is for the request to /rpc. I am wondering if maybe this has changed in Exchange 2013 SP1? Or have I got a bigger issue here?

  • Windows 10 Upgrade Failed with error code 80004005

    OK, I have downloaded Windows 10 Upgrade and it all goes well until the computer restarts. Once it boots up again, the upgrade does not continue and I just go back to Windows 8.1. I then see error code # 80004005 for the upgrade in the Windows Update history.  I do not know what is going on. I read on HP's Notebook upgrade page I found the following:For computers with available storage of 128 GB or less, the upgrade might require you to provide a USB hard drive (32 GB or larger). HP does not recommend using an SD card.If your computer has less than 128 GB of free hard drive space you will be prompted to connect a USB hard drive to continue with the installation. Use a blank USB hard drive 32 GB or larger. When the installation is complete, Windows 10 Upgrade will copy the windows.old file to the USB hard drive. Keep this file on the USB hard drive. It will be required to Go Back to the previous operating system if necessary.My computer definately fits in that criteria since it is equiped with a 128GB SSD. When I start the upgrade, I do not get prompted for an external hard drive.  I have also tried the Media Creation Tool and ISO/USB and get the "Windows 10 Installation has Failed" error.

    The system reserved partition serves a purpose.  If it is deleted, then the OS will not boot back up.  In which case you are toast.ON THIS PAGE, it tells what the partition is used for.-The Boot Manager and Boot Configuration Data : When your computer boots, the Windows Boot Manager starts up and reads the boot data from the Boot Configuration Data (BCD) Store. Your computer boots the boot loader off the System Reserved partition, and it boots Windows from your system drive. I advise that you not do what CanhThanh is instructing

    We're in the same boat.  This is a production installation, running on Windows Server 2012, that we've been getting that error on for months.  We just updated to CU3 and the error is still there.  It doesn't seem to impact anything as far
    as I can see, so I'm not certain that it matters.
    For what it's worth, we use a single certificate for the IIS,POP,IMAP,SMTP services on all of our CAS servers.  It's issued from our internal CA and has ~13 entries in the SAN for various purposes.  It was issued from a custom template that we
    use for various purposes, so it's possible there's something about the certificate that something somewhere doesn't like.   Unfortunately the error doesn't seem to contain any specifics, so it's difficult to tell what's happening.
    The event immediately after the error is information event 2002:
    A round of expiration check has finished. The next round is scheduled at...
    Also at the same time there is a warning in the system log for Event 6037, LSA (LsaSrv)
    The program w3wp.exe, with the assigned process ID 2804, could not authenticate locally by using the target name HTTP/owa.langslb.domain.com. The target name used is not valid. A target name should refer to one of the local computer names, for example,
    the DNS host name.
     Try a different target name.
    The address is the address used by our hardware load balancer for our CAS servers.  The IP for the name will be one of the CAS.  On reboot, even if the load balancer doesn't have time to detect one of the systems being offline, it would have a
    percentage chance of getting the IP of an already online system.
    I have the exact same error with Exchange 2013 CU3 CAS servers. can any one explain what is that about? and how to resolve it?

    Anyone got any ideas why on my Exchange 2013 SP1 server I am getting a 404 error when trying to access the RPC URL?

    This works fine in Exchange 2010 SP3 so I am wondering if maybe Microsoft have removed the /rpc url functionality in Exchange 2013 SP1?

    Hi JRA,
    Is it possible to provide more info for your issue?
    You receive as you said HTTP 404 error, can you provide the specific HTTP 404 error message?
    For example:
    HTTP/1.0 404 File Not Found
    HTTP/1.0 404 Not Found
    HTTP/1.0 404 Object Not Found
    HTTP/1.0 404 Page Cannot Be Found
    The page cannot be found. The page you are looking for might have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable
     Also a screenshot will be very helpful

  • Fresh install of Exchange 2013. 500 Internal error after trying to login via ECP

    Hi folks,In the process of migrating someone from their onsite infrastructure to Cloud ( local city's datacentre). They currently have AD/File+ Print (2008R2) with Exchange on same VM (yeah I know and I am fixing this with new move) and Terminal Server (2008R2).Cloud move will have Server 2012 R2 AD/F+P, Exchange 2013 SP1 on Server 2012 R2 and RDS on Server 2012 R2 VM's. Have setup VPN between the onsite infrastructure and Cloud VM's. AD/DC are in sync. Exchange has been installed with both mailbox and CAS roles after doing Schema & Domain prep and Domain updates. Exchange server and AD/DC in Cloud are joined to onsite infrastructure domain. Exchange on cloud is using cloud AD/DC's DNS.
    Cloud AD/DNS can ping onsite AD/PDC fine. Cloud Exchange can ping onsite TS fine but it cannot ping onsite AD/DNS. This is my 2nd issue. Onsite AD/PDC...
