Exchange account contacts

My mac connects to exchange server for mail and calendar, but when I open contacts it asks for the password for the exchange account, I enter the same password for the account but it says it cannot connect, can anyone help please ??

Thanks for the help. I Have contacted the administrator to get this confirmed. I think it is this as when I try to set up the exchange account the option for contact sync does not appear.

  • IOS4 Multiple Exchange Accounts (Contacts & Calendars) Merged or Separated?

Naturally I added my corporate exchange email, but not the calendar and contacts as i have my gmail via activesync doing my personal calendar and contacts.
If i ALSO enable contacts and calendars for my corporate account as well, I understand I will see both on the iPhone; however, I would like to know will my personal contacts and calendar entries get pushed to my corporate and vice versa? Or will they remain separate?
I imagine they would be separate and if I were to remove any of the accounts from my iPhone, the contacts, calendar, and email associated with that particular account will be removed from the iPhone, but leaving the contacts, email, and calendar on the iPhone of the account still remaining.
    Is this correct?

They will remain separate and won't get cross-synced. However, duplicate contacts from each account will be linked together in the "All Contacts" section on the device. So if you have a Bob Smith in each account, they'll be linked together and shown as a single contact in "All Contacts". You can manually unlink any false-positives.

  • Address Book, Exchange Account, Contact Photos with iPhone and EntourageEWS

In SL Address Book I cannot assign a picture to a contact in my Exchange AB. For my local AB this still works fine. Bug or by design?
With my iPhone I can assign pictures to my Exchange contacts and this pictures will also displayed in Address Book and Entourage 2008 EWS.
If I assign a picture in Entourage EWS it will show up in Address Book, but NOT on the iPhone.
    Any Ideas?

So in regards to this issue, what's the best way of getting photos assigned to contacts when using an Exchange server. I have a bunch of contacts stored locally on my Mac address book which I had since copied over into the Exchange server. You state I can only assign photos from within the iPhone. So what's the best way to get a photo on the Mac to the iPhone. Do I get photos into the iPhoto, sync my iPhone with my Mac, and then go to the iPhone and manually add the photos to contacts one a time? Is there a faster/better way?

  • IOS Exchange Account Contact Sync Issues

Issues: (1) Duplicate, Triplicate, Quadruplicate, Quintuplicate Contact Entries (2) Erratic Proliferation (3) New Inputed Contacs Disappear, Reappear and Disappear, never to be registered in the exchange service. (4) Problem started with iOS 5. More Info: iPhone 4, iPhone 4s and iPad1. One Windows 7 desktop and One Windows 7 notebook. Microsoft Office 365 Online service.
For years I have been using Exchange to sync my e-mail, calendar and contacts, across my windows machines and my ios devices. Since some months ago, my contact entries started to profilate erraticaly on my iPhone and iPad, some times duplicating and other times triplicating or quintuplicating all or some of entries. The solution was to UNCHECK and RE-CHECK sync contact information inside the mail settings of the ios device. Number of entries were not affected in Outlook or the Online Web Server. Most recently, contacts inputed in the iOS device, on the road, disappeared, reappeared and disappeared again in the iOS device, never to be registered by the Exchange server, losing vital information.

I noticed that you have all mentioned iPhone 4s, to be the ones with this issue.  A handful of my end users just upgraded to the new iPhone 4s and they are having this issue.  However, one of the users with the issues still uses their iPhone 4 for international and that one works fine.
My iPhone 4 is running iOS 5.1.1, my MBP 17" 2010 model running Lion they both work fine with both Office 365 and Exchange 2010.
This may just be an issue with the iPhone 4s.  Since ActiveSync just synchronizes, then it's skewing up the Contacts folder, hence spreading it to the other devices.
Microsoft is holding Apple responsible, since other devices with EAS work just fine, and Apple reps claim that this will be resolved in the next update; how long must we have to wait?!?!?

  • Adding contacts across multiple exchange accounts?

I have multiple exchange accounts syncing contacts to my iPhone. When I add a contact to my phone manually, is there a way to select which account I want it to sync with, or does it always just go to the default account?
Additionally, is there any way to physically merge my :"unified contacts" and sync back to my exchange accounts (some have different info)

Thanks! I have done that, but new contacts are still only placed in the "On my iPad" group. I know that previously, without multiple Exchange accounts, contacts were automatically added to the only Exchange account.

  • Is there a way of syncing local contacts only when outlook has an exchange account in the profile

I have Outlook 2010 set up with both a Pop3 account and a Microsoft Exchange account in the same profile. I have local contacts and Calendar entries in Outlook. The pop account is set up as the default account. When I sync Calendars and Contacts, then the exchange entries get transferred to the iPhone, even though the iPhone has the exchange account set up on it (and therefore I get the contacts and appointments over the air) but does not sync the local contacts and appointments.
If I split the accounts into two profiles and set the profile with the pop account as the default profile then I get the local contacts, but having to swap between profiles is a pain.
    Can anybody help?

You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

  • Cannot send Mail from Search shortcut "email [name of contact]" with exchange account

i have a Q10 with an exchange Account configured. Mail works fine from the hub but when i use the search feature of the q10 by typing "email [name of contact]" the compser opens but i cannot send. the account field is empty and when i press send the button gets greyed out. the email is not sent.
the problem seems to be that the default-account setting is not recognised when you use the search-shortcut-feature of the q10. when i compose a mail from the hub the account-field is filled right.
same problem has a friend of mine from another company. he also uses a different excahnge server/account.

    Hi!
I've got the same problem. It's a quiet annoying bug.

  • Accidentally deleted exchange account and lost contacts....please help

    Hello all,
I have a unique problem and I'm worried that it may not be fixable but hopefully it is.  Here is the long detailed explanation.
I was trying to start setup for an outlook account to sync my business emails to my phone (which I never got around to doing)  I noticed that under mail/contacts etc.  that there was an exchange account.....with it being early in the AM and still in bed I accidentally deleted it.  I noticed immedietly after that my texts were coming in with numbers rather than contact names.  I don't usually use the start mail (blue with white envelope) I had it archived away.....because I have the gmail app which was much more user friendly.  Whoever set up the exchange account must have been at the verizon store when i bought the phone possibly.  I did not do this myself.  Anyways I have a few more problems that makes this issue worse....for some time now my iCloud has been saying it does not have the appropriate amount of storage......(And I assume is not backing up my contacts)  I've never really had to use iCloud before so I think this may not help either.  I looked on gmail and only certain contacts....older ones were on there.  I went to a verizon store and he helped me re-add my exchange account which im assuming was through my gmail email (Only email I really use) and certain contacts seemed to pop up.  After leaving the store I realized that a lot of the newer contacts I've added were still missing......I'm not sure what else I can do to recover these contacts if anything but I am now up for suggestion.  This is basically where I'm at right now.....not totally missing everything but missing a good deal.  Also would like to get my cloud up and running again so this doesn't happen again.  I haven't hooked to iTunes yet but I never really did that regularly so that might not help either.  Like I said I am up for any suggestion......maybe a way to look up my exchange account if by chance it wasn't under my gmail email account......Thanks in advance!

  • I want to delete my current exchange account. How can I achieve this and not lose stored information such as contacts, photos etc. please help. Thank you.

I want to delete my current exchange account and replace it with my new one. How can I achieve this and not lose my contacts, photos, etc associated with this account? Please help..
    Thank you,

    Bad idea.
What information do you want to share, exactly?  You can share contacts, reminders, and calendars with other iCloud users without the need for both of you to use the same iCloud account.  You can authorize both phones to use apps purchased under the same Apple ID without sharing an iCloud account.
Sharing an iCloud account is a bad idea in general. There is too much opportunity for someone to damage or delete data that will affect both.

  • Please i need help very urgent !!! after deleting my exchange account because the company changed the password , I lost 150 200 contacts and i need to get them back very soon ! please help

Please i need help very urgent !!! after deleting my exchange account because the company changed the password , I lost 150 200 contacts and i need to get them back very soon !  i never backed up on itunes ..please help

No. The contacts are "owned" by the Exchange server.
The Exchange server is owned by the company.
Everything on the Exchange server is owned by the company.
If you quit or were terminated, and your access to the system has been revoked, then there is nothing you and do at this point. Once you deleted the account from your phone, all of the associated data was deleted.
NEVER store personal information on company systems.

  • OS4.0: 2 Exchange accounts...very sluggish contacts search

I upgraded to OS4.0 on a 3GS in large part to get the ability to have more than one Exchange account. Now I have two sets of contacts on the device and the unit has slowed to a crawl when accessing them, sometimes crashing the search app and taking me back to the Home screen.
I suspect it is related to the fact that there is some overlap of contacts between the two accounts and the software is attempting to join them (unified contacts feature) and getting overloaded. Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a solution other than waiting for an fix/bug update?

We have been battling this (along with the per missions issues) for months...
Here is some of what our Apple Rep told us:
Xsan runs on CFS (cluster file system), not HFS, which means AFP needs to do the conversion on the fly, which slows things down a lot. They improved this, apparently, in 10.4 server...
The other part of the equation is spotlight itself, if you are using 10.4 clients. We found that not only were the searches slow in and of themselves, but that any one user searching ground the server to a halt. This is apparently because Spotlight helps itself to all the bandwidth it sees, and when you search an Xsan volume, it sees the massive BW of the fiber connections, and takes it all...
We have tried some other search solutions, like quicksilver, to work around this, w/ inconsistent results. QS is great once you have indexed the volume, but that is a slow and bandwidth intensive act, and QS seems to ditch that index whenever you unmount the volume...
Don't even get me started on FCP's useless Find feature... A better solution is just to use locate, and point it at a directory. We have success finding file when we point it at a few levels above the file, and let it parse just those directories...

  • Strange contacts problem with Exchange account.

I have an Exchange account set up on both my iPad and iPhone wich work seemlesly when adding or editing contacts.  The on-line app that Office Exchange provide also show all changes, which is great.
I've just set up a new (June 2013) Macbook Air and added the same Exchange account.  Mail and Calendar work great, but the contacts don't show in my 'Contacts' app and I have no idea why.Just in case it's important, I noticed the iPad/iPhone server info has 'Domain' in it's settings suggesting it uses a web based sync(?). There isn't an option when setting up an Exchange account on the Macbook to enter that info in - it asks for Internal/External server paths.  Would this be the problem, and if so, how do I set up my Exchange account to enter the same domain type info as my iPad/iPhone?
    Many thanks in advance.
    Paul

Sorry, but it is still not clear.
When restoring an iPhone with iTunes, the iPhone is completely erased first followed by the firmware being reinstalled. After the firmware is reinstalled, there are two options. Restore from the iPhone's backup which is selected by default, or as a new iPhone which must be manually selected.
Did you do the latter? If so, this is the first time I have seen this reported - that everything was erased from the iPhone except for a single email account.

  • ITunes Says My Contacts Are Being Synced With Microsoft Exchange, But I Don't Have An Exchange Account

iTunes says my contacts are being synced with Microsoft Exchange over the air, but I do not have an Exchange account, and I have disabled over the air syncing on both my iPhone 4, as well as in iTunes. How do I remedy this? I did a complete Restore on my phone to rectify this, but got the same results.
I have worked for a couple of hours now; at first, none of my contacts were syncing with Outlook, even though iTunes said they were. Then after checking and unchecking everything I could find relating to syncing, some of my contacts synced. Now I've managed to get them all synced, but still getting this message. I need to make sure that going forward, all changes and updates are correctly synced manually whenever I plug my phone into my computer. Any suggestions?

You are getting this message because you are trying to create an iCloud account on a PC.  You can only create iCloud account on an iOS device (iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch) running iOS 5 or higher, or on a Mac running OS X Lion (10.7.5) or higher.  After creating your account on one of these devices you will then be able to sign into the account using this ID on your PC.

  • Gmail Exchange Account for Contacts

I set up my 4s contacts to come from my gmail exchange account.  How do I get it to sync if I make a change in gmail on my computer?  Do I need to turn the contact options off then back on?  I'm sure there's an easier way!

If you set up your Gmail account as an Exchange account on the phone, any changes made should sync "automagically" over the air. You don't need to do anything.
