Exchange account doesn't recognize email address

I recently got a new work email address using the new .brussels domain extension (instead of the old .be). For some reason OSX Yosemite doesn't accept this e-mail address when I set up my new Exchange account info. I had the same problem on my work PC but our IT guy managed to make Windows understand that .brussels is a perfectly normal email address. Is there any chance to make OSX accept the new (and a bit unconventional) domain extension?

I've got the same problem. Is there a way to turn this off?
Unfortunately, the ISP's have been catching so much flak for spewing spam that they have resorted to methods to protect their reputations regardless of how you want to work.
The most obvious spam in the world is a message with a large number of recipients.
PC users can not be trusted by their ISP's because their machines are infested so often with programs designed to spread spam.
If an ISP is accused of sending too much Spam they run the risk of getting dumped to the "Black Hole" by other ISP's and that damages the ISP's ability to do business. Hence the reason for the ISP's to get involved. They never cared much before now, until it started affecting their business.
So, because of the trash and bull that's been going on with the Trojan Programs on Windows machines for the last 4 years, I don't think you can do much, except to try other mail servers that may not interfere with your messages. If you get your own domain on a host, you own the mail server. Maybe that's an answer...

  • Server doesn't recognize email address

I can recieve email, but I can't send email.  It keeps saying "server doesn't recognize email address."

    Ok,
    I have it working finally.
On a whim, I tried deleting the iCloud account (again) and reinstated it.
I set it up using [username]@me.com, and all is well.
This is the 2nd time i set it up this way, so I would suggest trying it again, if you have already.

  • Mail doesn't recognize email address I'm sending to

I'm trying to send an email to a group in my address book but whenever I try to send it I get the error message:
"The server “smtp.mac.com” did not recognize the following recipients:" and then lists most of the email addresses I'm sending to.
I don't think I could have that many of the email addresses wrong, so I have no idea what's wrong. Does anyone have any advice?

  • IMessage doesn't recognize email addresses

    Hello,
I'm having trouble sending iMessage messages to my contacts.  Their email addresses aren't read as the ones registered to iMessage even if they are the Apple IDs.
I need to wait for someone to initiate an iMessage conversation before I can write them.  Please help.  Thanks

    Thanks, ckuan.
Actually, I noticed that my gmail contacts register as imessage-able.  I verified with my Yahoo! contacts and they say theyre using the correct yahoo! email address for their imessage.  Does it take longer for Yahoo! to be verified as an iMessage device?

    1. You did not get an error message telling you that your iPhoto library was getting full. You got a message telling you that your HD was getting full, right?
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.
Your Library has been damaged from being run on an overfull disk.
How much free space on it now?

  • Exchange delegate names changing to email address.

I have four Delegates configured in my iCal(v. 4.0.4) app and the names shown for each will change to my email address at random times. So far I haven't been able to make heads or tails of it. Basically, their calendar is intact and completely visible in my iCal, but their name changes to my email address at random times. I can click on the name and type their name back in, but this problem happens on a daily basis. Any ideas? My iCal app is configured to access our Exchange 2010 server here on campus. I've tried deleting all iCal and Mail preferences from my local hard drive and resetting them up again. The only way to fix it is to remove the delegate from the iCal Accounts->Delegation window and re-add them. This pulls their correct name from the Exchange server, but it doesn't seem to stick around for too long. After a while, the name just randomly changes to my email address.

I get exactly the same issues ( renaming delegate account, randomly, to my email address - can rename in delegates list, or delete and re-add to fix it, but it always changes again at some point)
Strangely, though, this has only started since our work email has changed from one exchange service provider to a new one. Both exchange servers are using Exchange 2007 setups, but in the old one, I never got this problem, with the new one, I get it all the time - so I'm beginning to think there's an exchange configuration / iCal interaction going on.
Anyone come up with a solution yet?

  • Safari doesn't recognize http addresses

    When I input:
    http://www.devon-technologies.com/files/academy/devonthink/videos/videotutorial- 1.mov
to safari, I get the error message:
Safari can’t open “http://www.devon-technologies.com/files/academy/devonthink/videos/videotutorial- 1.mov” because Mac OS X doesn’t recognize Internet addresses starting with “http:”.
Huh? firefox had no problems opening the page.

Thanks for the response. Two questions:
    1. I should know this, but it's been a long time, how do I create a new account? I know the account manager will allow to designate the new account as an admin.
    2. Why is a new account needed?

  • I recently changed my email on my apple account but the old email address is displayed when I go into iTunes or App Store not allowing me in.

I recently changed my email on my apple account but the old email address is displayed when I go into iTunes or App Store not allowing me to sign into my account. At some points it's a vicious circle because it asks for a password at key times when trying to correct the problem. Note that the new email address shows when I log into my Apple account and shows it was verified. For some reason the system isn't updating to the new email in ALL places.
I hope this is the right place to post this. Thanks!

  • Why doesn't my email address work for apps

Why doesn't my email address work on my envy printer?

You don't give us anything like enough data to go on. What is your operating system? Do you have a functioning iCloud account - i.e. are you signed in in System Preferences>iCloud?
Were you originally a MobileMe subscriber? If so, did you migrate to iCloud?
Was your email still working recently? Do you get any error messages? What happens when you try to use it?
Have you been using an @icloud.com address or an @me.com address?
(Please do not post your email address when answering.)

  • Hi, I use two email addresses within one account with gmx.  I created one account with the first email address now. How do I add the second one to this account? Now it looks like this. One account was opened with address A. I receive in this account email

Hi, I use two email addresses within one account with gmx.
I created one account with the first email address now. How do I add the second one to this account?
    Now it looks like this.
One account was opened with address A.
I receive in this account emails for address A and B.
But I can only write and answer with address A.

    Hi Rudegar,
    Sorry for my late reply.
It s not the amount of accounts I'm struggling with.
When I create now for both email addresses one account, then I receive the same emails two times.
That is not what I want.
Because on gmx the two email addresses have the same inbox and outbox.
E.g. I can login to my gmx account either with email A or B. It doesn't matter.
Now I want to have the same on my ipad.
One account with both email addresses.

  • Can you have multiple iTunes accounts associated with one email address?

My current iTunes account is associated with my company email address that I am attempting to change to my personal email address that I share with my husband. The problem is his iTunes account is also associated with this email address. Is there a way to add my account to our joint email address?

No. Purchases made on each account are permanently tied to a unique email address and cannot be changed, and accounts cannot be merged. I think you can add an alternate email address for correspondence if/when you can no longer access email at the original address. See HE68: Apple ID: Associating and verifying email addresses with your Apple ID for more information.

  • I need to change my icloud account the account name is a email address I can no longer access

I need to change my icloud account name the account name is an email address that I can no longer access.
When I select the "red" Delete Account button it ask for my passcode for that account and I don't recall it.
I also cannot reset the password because I have no Idea what email it will go to. I have reset my apple ID and passcode it has the old
email now how do I change it for icloud????? Please assist very important...

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Firstly, you need to change your details with Apple,  Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • My iCloud account shows an old email address i no longer use even though I've updated my apple id with my new email information.  How do I get the old email account off my iCloud

my iCloud account shows an old email address i no longer use even though I've updated my apple id with my new email information.  It keeps asking me my old password to the old email address which is NOT a valid email any longer.  I'm unable to manage my iCloud until this is resolved.  HELP

If your Apple ID is the one that you use for making all of your purchases, it should, automatically appear in FaceTime already. How a no longer valid email address got there to begin with is a mystery to me, if in fact you do have, and have been using another Apple ID.
Go to Settings>FaceTime>Apple ID. Tap the old email address and sign out, sign in with your Apple ID. It should be verified and allow you to select it as the address that you can be reached by for FaceTime.
If that does not work, time FaceTime off, restart your iPad and then start all over again.

  • What can I do when I try to access a URL and get the message "MAC OSX doesn't recognize internet addresses starting with "c:"?

I recently tried to download a pdf file from a website in the UK.  Up popped a message saying the website could not be accessed, followed by this message: "MAC OSX doesn't recognize internet addresses starting with "c:".  I was able to access the website easily (its domain was "www") and the page listing the pdfs, but could not download a pdf.  Of course," c:" appears not to be a valid domain name, but why would anyone use "c:" in place of a domain name in their URL?  And what can I do about the problem?  I'm using Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and Safari 5.1.10, but also have Firefox and Chrome loaded.  Thanks.

An address starting with c: wouldn't be any kind of domain name. C: is the drive lettering system DOS and and later uses. By default, A: and B: are reserved for your first and second floppy disk drive. All hard drives are then named C: through Z:, if you have that many. C: is normally your startup disk.
Anyway, their PDF file is incorrectly linked to a file directly on the C: drive of someone's computer. It's not going to work no matter what you do.

  • My Pages documents disappeared from my iphone somehow in the process of changing my iphone account from a defunct email address to my new one. How do I get them back?

I changed my Apple account to a new email address and away from an address that was discarded last summer. Somehow, in the process, all my Notes word processing documents left my iphone. Did they go to the icloud for my old Apple account or just disappear completely? I can't access the old icloud since it requires a working up-to-date email address. Apple Security so far has not been able to help me restore my orphaned files. What to do now?!
