Exchange account not showing up in 10.9.2 Mail

Just installed MacOS 10.9.2 and now I can't get my Exchange account to show up in Mail.
Under System Preferences/Internet Accounts, I see the account and Mail, Contacts and Calendars are checked.  But if I start Mail and go to Preferences.../Accounts, I don't see an Exchange account.  If I check Calendar's Preferences.../Accounts, I see two copies of my Exchange account, and in the calendar itself, two copies of every appointment.
I've tried various combinations of deleting the Exchange account from Internet Accounts and re-adding it, turning off the Keychain in System Preferences/iCloud, and restarting, all to no avail.  Has anyone else seen this?  Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks!

never mind I fixed it

  • Address Book Accounts not showing sync options

Address Book > Accounts not showing sync options. - just a blank panel to right of "On My Mac". Cause could possibly be that I imported current contact list from vcf export of AB. Anyone any toughts on how can I retrieve the syncing options?

Don't take what I have to say as fact, because I don't use a Mac and could be mistaken. I remember reading last night something about people taking and checking the box on the Summary page of iTunes to replace the info on the iPhone with the computer. Once that was done, it seemed to correct this issue and showed the address groups after that.
It might be worth the experiment, however I would make sure I had a backup of the phone before I tried it. I know it was only the last day or show that I read it, so if you want to search the forum before you try it, be my guest. I don't want to ruin anything for you, but I just remember reading that someone did that and it fixed it.
    Hope this helps.

    1. Open iTunes.
    2. Click the View option in the iTunes menu.
    3. Select the Show Sidebar option.
Connect your phone, select it in the Sidebar...the various tabs will now show as before.

  • Exchange email account not showing up in itunes

    Hi,
My exchange email account isn't showing up in itunes for sync with my iphone.
    Why?

I'm not sure the option is available with an Exchange account.
If your employer supports accessing your company Exchange account with an iPhone and this is set up on the Exchange Server, you can manually create the account on your iPhone.
The iPhone will try to automatically discover your Exchange server. If you don't have Exchange 2007 with Autodiscovery turned on, it will fail and warn you that it couldn't validate your account. You will have to manually enter your server name in the window. Make sure you enter your ActiveSync server name, not the OWA server (as in Entourage) or the real Exchange server (as in Outlook).

  • Exchange Emails Not Showing Up On IPhone with Outlook Client Closed

I have been trying to fix this problem and I want to see if anybody else has run across this issue and found the fix. I am having a problem accessing Exchange Emails from my work system, but only under the following scenario:
    1) When my work PC is powered on, logged in, and Outlook client is up and active I can send and receive emails on my IPhone with no problems and it correctly displays read and unread messages.
    but...
    2) When I close my Outlook client on my PC my IPhone is no longer able to retrieve new email messages. I have had this problem since first getting the 3G phone in August of '08 and it is has been updated with each firmware release but the problem persists.
This is driving me crazy, any help or confirmation that others are experiencing the problem is much appreciated.
    Thanks.

If you select one month for mail days to sync, only one month's worth will be synced and available - the last month which will be constantly changing to the most recent 30 days. Select No Limit for Mail Days to Sync.
Show 1000 recent messages is for the selected mailbox only and if there are more than 1000 messages in a mailbox and you have one month for mail days to sync selected, if the last 30 days for the mailbox includes 100 messages, only 100 messages will be available.
Are these additional server stored mailboxes separate mailboxes and what I mean by that is not sub-mailboxes for the Inbox mailbox?
Since you have had this issue with other operating systems, the common denominator is your Hotmail account. Have you contacted Hotmail technical support regarding this issue you have had with other operating systems?
All server stored mailboxes with an Exchange account should be available with the email client used to access the account. If all are not available when accessing the account as an Exchange account with an email client, something is wrong with your setup for these mailboxes at the server level.

  • Login user account not showing up on restart

I run a small business.  My assistant left and a new assistant has been hired.  I changed the name of the user account for the assistant to the new assistant.  Logging between the User (admin) account and the user (assistant) account works fine.  When you log out all the user accounts show up.
However, when the new assistant went to startup the iMac in the morning only the User (admin) account shows up.  Her user account did not show up.
I tried restarting the computer with command-r and going to the terminal to reset the password and this procedure is a no go because nothing shows up in the accounts dialog to reset.
So, what do I need to do to make this iMac functional?  I don't want to give administrator rights to the assistant and that's why I have a user account for her, that is different than the administrator user account.  Do I need to wipe the harddrive and start again.
I do have filevault on.  The computer is running the last update to lion.
    I appreciate your suggestions.

Glad you fixed it, but be aware that if you give the assistant permissions to be able to start up the computer and thereby unencrypt the disk, s/he can also start up the computer in single user mode.
Single user mode is a root account, and that means she can access everything in your Admin home folder.
There's a way round this, I think, though I haven't tested it yet. Read the exchanges between myeslf and etresoft on this thread:

  • New exchange emails not showing up in IOS6

    Ok'
I have been using IOS on iPad and Iphone against an Exchange2003 server for some time without problems.
Upgraded to IOS6 on both devices a month or so ago and had endless issues with battery problems (on the phione)
Found work arounds for those but over last few days have run into issues with email messages. Probably been going on for the last three days, although not entirely sure...
Right now email on the idevice does not download new messages from the server....until that message is opened by another client.
ie although new messages are being delivered to the mailbox they do NOT show in the idevice mail ...unless I log in using Outlook or OWA and open the message....as soon as message become 'read' they then appear a few seconds later in the idevice......
ive tried all different settings on the idevice, push, fetch, different time schedules all to no avail.
A week or so ago new messages were showing up as they appeared....now not.
I have deleted and reinstalled the mail account on thge iPad - no change.
What on earth is going on? Is anyone else seeing this?
why is imail no longer seeing 'unread' mail?
    Al.

    Ok
May have solved it. Was looking through my past posts and realised I had a similar though not identical problem last year. I fixed it by adding a registry setting to the MSExchangeIS service on the exchange2003 server:
    Inconsistent Sync::
If you are getting inconsistent Synchronisation from your device to your Exchange 2003 server, please add the following registry key to the server:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusScan
    ProactiveScanning REG_DWORD 1
Just checked the settings on that server and the value was set as 0, despite me setting it as 1 last year. So it's has obviously got changed back....by an AV update, by a Microsoft patch? Who knows? Anyway I made the change again to enable proactive AV (ie set the value as 1) then restarted the Information Store service.
Mail sync to the idevices now seems to be working, with messages showing up when they should. Why does this work?
Dunno....but it might help someone else have problems with unrealisable sync against exchange2003 servers.

  • User account not showing up in login screen after Leopard upgrade

One of my admin accounts is no longer showing up at log in. I did the upgrade and password suggestions on the support sight... titled Unable to log in to account after an upgrade but still no good. The only account affected did have a password of 8 characters or more.
I go to open System Preferences when in a different account with admin rights and I don't see my original account as an existing user? I can see my original stuff in the user folders, but I am not listed as a user in the Account Preferences or Login. I also cannot create a new user with the same name as my old login as that name is apparently(!) already in use. I have an account with admin rights that is showing up.
From a different thread it seems that many others are having this problem thus I think it warrents its own thread. What is the easiest way to bring back my account and data... I know it is there it just is not showing up at log in.
tbigsmo wrote this from other thread... hmmmm
One more thing, I created a new user and copied over all folders from my old user account and that didn't even think about working. The last solution was suggested by the apple 800 number. This is what I was going to try next, but now am waiting. Also the other thread was very hard to follow as many folks did not have access to a working user admin account.
How can I find myself too?

Turns out you're both right, sort of...
    * The Guest Account is hidden because it's a sub 500 user, so you guys were on the money there. (I hadn't realized it was a sub-500 user...)
    * Using the hint at the link posted by V.K. to hide the secret administrator hides it ONLY from the login window, but not from the Accounts section of System Preferences...so, that solution doesn't work for me. (This is going on a master image, and the users will have admin rights, so they would be able to delete the secret administrator account...)
So, I'll just have to live without having the actual Guest account active (which I need active for use with Orbicule Undercover,) and instead I created a standard user (with a few parental controls) named "Guest User."
Thanks, both of you, for your help.

  • G-Mail Account Not showing up in Messaging Folder

On my Droid X, that I can't say enough about, I noticed that my G-mail Account is not showing up in the Messaging folder.  I have tried the "manage account" option and it shows the account,  but on the main messaging screen, it is only showing my comcast, facebook, twitter and texting folders.  Subsequently, I'm not receiving my g-mail unless I use the browser and log into the gmail account that way... Any thoughts or suggestions?

Try adding a folder by doing these steps.  Hope this helps!
If there is no room on a specific homescreen, the option to add shortcuts or folders will be greyed out. Select another homescreen to add or resize/remove existingg widgets to make space.
    Add a Folder
    1. Press Menu hard key, press + Add,
    2. Select Folders
You will be presented with a list of data and documents you can access by or save into a folder. (New folder, All contacts, Bluetooth received, Favorites, Phone Numbers, Recent, Statues)
    3. Select a folder from the "Select folder" menu to place it on a homescreen. You can adjust its position once its on the homescreen.
    Add a Shortcut
    1. Press Menu hard key, press + Add,
    2. Select Shortcuts.
You will be presented with a list of features that can be turned into a shortcut icon on your homescreens for quick access to the particular application or feature. (Applications, Bookmark (internet), Contact, Contact Search, Dialer, Navigation, Gmail label, Latitude, Music Playlist, Picture Slideshow, Settings, Voice Dial).
Any application icon from the Applications tray can be used to create a shortcut. Tap and hold on the icon in the applications tray. The applications tray will hide away and you can drop the Application icon on your homescreen. This icon now becomes a shortcut to that application.
    3. Select a shortcut from the "Select shortcut" menu to place it on a homescreen. You can adjust its position once its on the homescreen.
    Notes:
The top row (right below the Google Search bar) cannot be used for shortcuts or folders.
To remove a shortcut or folder press and hold the item and drag it to the App try icon (trash can).
If an error message appears, you can drag the message into the trash as well.

  • Mail accounts not showing up when in iTunes.

I'm trying to rearrange the order of my (5) mail accounts by following directions found on a post titled "How to change order of mail accounts in iPhone 4 mail app". One of the steps involves viewing and modifying the list of mail accounts while in iTunes.
As I mentioned I have 5 mail accounts, two mobile me, two yahoo and one gmail. All are active and I receive and send on them with my phone regularly. Only one of my Mobile Me accounts shows up in the list in the iTunes window.
    Anyone have suggestions?

Syncing calendar events direct with Outlook via the iTunes sync process is not associated with an email account.
Syncing calendar events direct with Outlook via the iTunes sync process is separate from transferring the email account settings for an email account or accounts from your computer to the iPhone's Mail app, which only needs to be done once to transfer the email account settings to your iPhone followed by deselecting this.
Deselecting an email account under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes after the email account settings have been transferred to your iPhone followed by a sync does not delete the email account from your iPhone.
Deselect this under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes followed by selecting Apply and then delete the account from the iPhone's Mail app that you don't want to access on your iPhone.

  • IMAP & Exchange accounts not synching read & deleted

It seems like this has just recently started happening to me and it may be more than my iPhone that's responsible. I have an IMAP account (personal) and an Exchange account (work) setup on my iPhone, on my iMac (Apple Mail) at home and my Windows 7 (Outlook 2010) machine at work. In recent history it seems like when I read or delete an email on one device it doesn't show up as read or it isn't deleted from the other devices. I swear this wasn't the case previously, everything was syncing nicely. ie if I read and deleted a message on my iPhone it wouldn't show up in my inbox on my other platforms and vice versa.
Anyone else see this happen or have a fix? Maybe it's a simple configuration thing? Or maybe one of my mail clients is refusing to let messages go?
    Thanks in advance.

Goto your OWA, Options, Telephone section and delete the iPhone Profile.
On next sync. it will automatically created again.
    What happens next ?

  • Mail accounts not showing after restoring a profile backup

Followed the instructions here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_restoring-a-profile-backup for manually "Restoring to a different location".
Re-stated TB and only "local Folders" show in the home tab. The emails for my previous main account are there minus what was on the "inbox" for that account.
The rest of the email accounts were created in the account settings but are not showing in the home tab (no emails).
When I point to the server settings they message storage is set to this folder and I get this message.
The Local Directory path "C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxx.default\Mail\pop.1and1-2.com" is not suitable for message storage. Please choose another directory.
Could you please provide some help?

Normally the instructions work fine, but in your case there seems to be a glich. I've heard that some issue can occur if the Profile has been moved from one pc to another and previous pc directory used :
C:\\'''Documents and Settings'''\\ and the root directory gets confused.
This is located in the prefs.js file, which you copied over when you followed the instructions.
It can be fiddly and time consuming trying to correct this file.
So I'm going to suggest that you do not use the old prefs.js file.
The best way forward would be to delete the Profile and start again but this time using a fresh new prefs.js file.
    Using Profile Manager
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_Manager
create new Profile and then click on 'start thunderbird'
Manually create all the mail accounts - email addresses, which you had backed up, but do not download anything.
File > New > existing mail account
    or
menu icon > New Messages > exisitng mail account
enter name, full email address and password for the mail account,
    click on 'Remember Password'
    Click on 'continue' button.
When all mail accounts have been created in the new Profile, check the Account Settings are exactly as you require.
Tools > Account Settings > Server Settings
    or
Menu icon > Options > Account Settings > Server Settings
check all preferences are as you require
also check other settings eg: Copies & Folders, Junk Settings etc.
when all is ok click on OK to save any changes.
Then access the Profile folder as follows.
make sure hidden folders are visible:
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/Show_hidden_files_and_folders
    In Thunderbird
    * Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * click on 'show folder ' button
    * A new window opens.
'''Close Thunderbird now - this is important.'''
The Profile folder will show a 'Mail' folder amongst other files and folders.
    scroll down to see:
    abook.mab and history.mab files.
These are your Personal Address Book and Collected Addresses. The new files will be empty.
Locate your backup profile and copy paste the abook.mab and history.mab files into the new Profile overwriting the new blank files of same name.
    Additional info:
You may have a few more files that you may wish to copy/paste into this profile name overwriting files of same name. Not totally essential, but will save time setting these preferences up again.
    * localstore.rdf - Toolbar and window layout size/position settings.
    * mailviews.dat - Defines your current message view
    * mimeTypes.rdf - Action to perform when downloading certain types of files.
    * training.dat - Custom training for Junk Mail Controls
In new Profile, click on 'Mail' folder
You should see your added mail account names and Local Folders.
click on one of the mail accounts.
They will have the basic default folders which of course are empty.
Locate backup Profile mail account for same email address.
you need to copy paste the ''contents'' of the backed up mail account name into the new empty mail account name.
Copy all the files and folders and paste into the new mail account folder overwriting the contents eg: Inbox. It may look similar to image below.
Do this for each mail account and Local Folders.
So you have replaced the new empty mail accounts files with all the backed up email files.
    Restart Thunderbird.
    Please report back on results.
